Well here it is folks, the start of the infamous Mortis Arc, and the introduction of the being tormenting Thomas mentally. This one was a little hard to write as I wanted Thomas to actually get into his first fight with a force user and see how well it would play out. And sorry for the very late update, I've just been lazy and also busy with other stuff I hadn't gotten around to. Anyway, I'll shut up and let y'all enjoy it.
Chapter 30: Overlords
May 13th, 2023. 21BBY
Chrelythiumn system
Normal POV
After receiving a Jedi distress call that hasn't been used in 2000 years, Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, and Thomas are sent to investigate where the call was picked up from. They are to rendezvous with a heavily armed Venator with Captain Rex. But whenever they arrived at the rendezvous, neither party could locate each other.
Anakin decided to contact Rex to see what the problem was.
"Rex…," Anakin said through a comm channel, "Rex, do you read me? We're at the rendezvous awaiting your arrival. Where are you?"
This confused the captain, "Sir, we are at the rendezvous point and there's no sign of you on our scanners."
"Oh, come on. That's impossible," Anakin scoffed, "Something's wrong. We're at the exact coordinates where the distress signal originated, but there's nothing here. Rex is at the exact same coordinates and he's not here."
"This is getting interesting," Obi-Wan said.
"Something isn't adding up," Thomas muttered, "Did you check to make sure these were the right coordinates, Anakin?"
"Yes, I did," An annoyed Chosen one said, "But still no Rex."
Speaking of rex, the hologram of the clone captain was starting to fritz out.
"Unable to find you… Where are you sir?" Rex asked while glitching out.
"Something's blocking the signal," Ahsoka said, which did not ease Thomas' concerns.
Then the power went out on the ship all of a sudden.
"That wasn't ominous at all," Thomas remarked.
"Not good," Obi-Wan said.
"No shit," the soldier retorted.
"Not helping Thomas," Anakin shot back.
Then Ahsoka stood up.
"Everything is dead," she said worriedly, "Even the life support."
"Hmm, this is really strange," Anakin said.
Then all of a sudden, the power went back on, which eased Thomas's worries a bit.
"There, see?" Obi-wan remarked, "Nothing to be concerned about after all."
"Then what's that?" Ahsoka said point out into space.
The four looked out and couldn't believe their eyes. It was a black prism the size of a planet floating about. If Thomas wasn't on the verge of freaking out before, he is now.
"Holy shit," Thomas said slowly.
Then the shuttle jerked as the prism was pulling it in.
"It's pulling us towards it," Ahsoka exclaimed.
"Oh hell no," Thomas muttered.
As the shuttle was being drawn inside, the prism opened up casting a blinding light over the shuttle's occupants.
"Everyone, strap yourselves in," Obi-Wan ordered, "Looks as though we're going for a ride."
Thomas and Ahsoka both sat down, getting their restraints on. The shuttle jerked around a lot more as it entered the prism structure. Then the light completely blinded everything, making everyone black out.
Cut to Anakin and Obi-Wan both regaining their consciousness and groaning from whatever the impact was.
"I must've blacked out," Anakin muttered.
"Then who landed the shuttle?" Obi-Wan asked.
Then they heard groaning from behind them and found Ahsoka had landed on Thomas, in a painful area at that. She realized what she landed on and got up quickly with Thomas groaning and clutching his crotch in pain.
"Oh sweet baby Jesus," Thomas groaned in pain, "Of all the places, why…?"
"Sorry babe," Ahsoka apologized.
"It's okay," Thomas groaned out, "Just hope I can still have kids."
This made everyone chuckle as the soldier tried to lighten the mood a bit.
"Where are we?" Anakin asked no one in particular.
"Some kind of organic mass," Ahsoka said while checking the scanners, "All of our readings indicate it's bigger than an asteroid. But at least the atmosphere is breathable."
"That's a relief," Thomas said.
"Well, this is getting more unusual by the minute," Obi-Wan commented, "I can't even lock down where in the galaxy we are. Or if we are even in our own galaxy."
This got Thomas' attention.
"Could this mean we're on earth now?" Thomas said with hope.
"Possibly," Obi-Wan said.
Then Anakin activated the ship's systems.
"Well, at least the ship's systems seem fine," the one handed jedi said, "But for whatever reason nothing's working."
Then Thomas and Ahsoka both walked out, with Thomas looking around, not recognizing the landscape. He pulled out his cellphone to see if he could get service but to his disappointment, he couldn't. It could be that he's in a place without service, but it seemed to dawn on him that this may not be earth.
Then something caught Ahsoka's attention.
"Hey, I saw a reflection, up on that hill," Ahsoka said.
"I don't see anything," Obi-Wan said using electrobinoculars.
"Me neither," Thomas said, using his thermal vision on his mask.
The four then took a moment to look out at the landscape that had a lushful environment and floating rocks to accommodate it. This was definitely not earth from what Thomas could see. Anakin was about to assist his padawan when he heard a voice.
"Are you the one?"
The knight snapped his head around to find the source of the voice.
"What the… What?" Anakin turned to the others, "Did you hear that?"
"I didn't hear anything," Obi-Wan said.
"You might wanna get your ears checked," Thomas commented.
"Are you the one?" the voice asked again.
This time, everyone heard it. When they turned, they found a beautiful, radiant, woman in ornate, regal clothing with creamy white and gold clothing. Her rich green hair flowed free down towards her knees which was also partially held back by a golden headpiece. She also was dressed with a lot of jewlery.
And the radiant part was quite literal, as she was glowing.
"Hello…" Obi-Wan said, unsure of the situation.
"Who are you?" Anakin asked, putting his fists on his hips.
"I am daughter,"
This confused the bunch as they didn't know how to properly respond to that. Thomas was just wondering where they were exactly.
"Are you the one?" the Daughter asked for the third time, looking at Anakin directly.
"Uh… The one what?" Skywalker asked, confused.
She then looked directly at Thomas, staring him down a bit. She felt a presence unlike the force. Narrowing her eyes, she focused on the young man, unnerving him a bit.
"You, you're not meant to be here, but, there's something about you," the daughter said to the teenager from earth.
"Uh, wha?" A confused Thomas asked.
The daughter, coming to a decision, looked back to the group.
"I will take you to him."
"Him who?" Ahsoka asked.
"Did you bring us here?" Obi-Wan asked.
"And why are we here?," Thomas demanded.
"Only he can help you, there is little time," Daughter said, "Follow me, we must have shelter by nightfall."
"And we thought the planet was strange," Anakin said, "How about this one?"
"We'll be fine as long as we stay together," Obi-Wan reassured the group.
Before they started walking, a lone voice called out that only Thomas could hear. But unlike the daughter, this was one Thomas recognized. One that sent chills up his spine in fear.
"You will be mine soon, Suuuuuuuuuuulivaaaaaan," the voice said creepily.
Thomas whipped his head around in fear at the sound of the voice. His heart was racing, his breath shaking. Ahsoka noticed this and put a hand on his shoulder, making him flinch.
"Tommy?" asked the togruta, "Are you okay?"
Thomas breathed in relief at the sight of Ahsoka.
"Y-Yeah," He stammered out, "I-I'm fine."
This didn't convince her but she decided to let it go. The group then decided to join the daughter on the trek to meet this mysterious person she was referring to.
Time passed on, and the newcomers decided to converse among themselves.
"Have you noticed the seasons seem to change with the time of day?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Yeah…" Anakin agreed.
"And there are no animals," Ahsoka added.
"Nothing indicates other people live on this planet," Thomas remarked.
"And you sense it?" Obi-Wan asked his former apprentice.
"Mhm, ever since we arrived," the chosen one answered, "The force is very strong."
"An intersection unlike anything I've ever felt before," Obi-Wan replied, "Be wary."
He looked to Ahsoka and Thomas, whom the former nodded while the latter was looking around nervously. Obi-Wan noticed this and took note to ask him later.
"Excuse me," Anakin asked the daughter, "Who are you taking us to?"
"The father, of course," the mysterious woman answered.
"Of course," Ahsoka muttered, rolling her eyes.
"And what exactly are you?" Asked the ginger jedi.
"We are the ones who guard the power," the daughter said cryptically, "We are the middle, beginning, and the end."
"Glad she cleared that up for us," Anakin said.
Thomas however was unusually quiet now as he was on edge. He heard the voice of the being that was tormenting him with his nightmares, which scared the shit out of him. Even though he couldn't see the grim reaper, he knew damn well that he was here on this planet. He just hoped this was something he could handle himself. No one had to be brought into this, he couldn't risk it.
As they kept walking on, the season started to change from summer to autumn swiftly. Then, moments later, a rock slide came down.
"Hey! Look out!" Anakin yelled and pushed the daughter to the side as soon as the rocks came in between the others.
Both Thomas and Obi-Wan lost their footing and fell off the side of the mountain. Obi-Wan was able to grab onto the ledge but Thomas however, wasn't so lucky. He fell down the side of the mountain. He tried to activate his thruster pack but it was for some reason malfunctioning. He panicked and screamed in terror as he plunged down the side of the mountain.
Ahsoka pulled up Obi-Wan to see that Thomas was falling down.
"THOMAS!" Ahsoka cried out as she saw her boyfriend fall to his supposed death.
Then Thomas remembered his parachute. He activated it and began to drift down slowly to the ground. Ahsoka saw this and sighed with relief. Hopefully, they can find him when they get down.
Back with Anakin and the daughter, the latter had a pissed off look on her face.
"It is forbidden for you to touch me," she said to the jedi knight.
"Sorry," Skywalker apologized, "I was just saving your life."
"That was my brother's work," The daughter voiced her concern, "You are in great danger. Wait for me. Do not leave this place."
The daughter then left Anakin by the rubble, dumbfounded.
"Hey, wait!" the chosen one called out, trying to convince her to let him join.
"Anakin, are you there?" Obi-Wan asked, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah," He said annoyed, "But our friend here has run off! Go back to the ship and try sending another distress call. I'll follow her and find out how to get off this rock."
"And if this is a trap?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Then I'm not gonna wait around to find out," Anakin said bluntly.
"Master, there is something else you should know," Ahsoka said quickly.
"What is it, Snips?" Anakin said.
"Thomas fell off the side of the mountain and we don't know where he is," she said with panic in her voice, "I'm worried about him."
"Don't worry Ahsoka," Anakin reassured her, "Thomas is one of the toughest, smartest, bravest, and most stubborn soldiers I know. He'll find a way back to us, I'm sure of it."
Ahsoka still had a worried look on her face but knew that Thomas isn't one to die so easily because she knew how insane he was. So she held out hope that he was alive. In the meantime, she and Obi-Wan went back to the ship as a storm was approaching them. However, when they went back to where the ship landed, it was nowhere to be seen.
"The ship's gone," Ahsoka said.
"Yes, I see that," Obi-Wan bluntly agreed.
"It was here, no question," the snippy padawan replied, "And look. Everything's dying."
Then a newcomer arrived behind them.
"Did you lose something?" the figure asked, making Ahsoka pull out her lightsaber and ignite it.
The figure was a tall man with bone white skin, crimson red eyes, and black markings that looked like tears on his face as well as some markings on his bald head. He wore a skin tight bodysuit composed of some red, black, and gray material.
"You didn't do as you were asked."
"And what was that?" Obi-Wan asked.
"My sister said to wait!"
"Did she now?" ginger beard asked, "Well, we were unfortunately separated. We'd like our ship back if you don't mind."
"Not… yet." The brother of the daughter said, "Is it true that he is the chosen one?"
Then it was Obi-Wan's turn to ignite his saber along with Ahsoka igniting her second.
"What do you know of such things?" Obi-Wan demanded.
"What is about to happen shall occur, whether you like it or not."
Then with a simple wave of his hand, the lightsabers were deactivated, much to the surprise of the Jedi master and Padawan.
"You are sith," Obi-Wan accused.
The Jedi Master could feel the dark side radiating off the man before them. Like he was born of the darkside itself.
"Sith?" The brother released a throaty chuckle, "Yes… And no." As he turned, the rain started to come down hard. "The storms here are quite lethal. If you want to live, I suggest you find shelter."
He then took off in a sprint, lept up and became some kind of giant bat creature as lightning struck before the two jedi. The Brother then flew away from their position.
"What in the universe was that?" Asked the snippy padawan.
"I'm not quite sure," Obi-Wan answered.
Then lighting struck really close to Obi-Wan. He looked behind him and saw an opening.
"Quick, there's a cave over there," the Jedi master said.
The two then began to sprint to the nearby cave. Ahsoka could only think about how Thomas was holding up.
-Scene cut-
With Thomas, he was trying to figure out where he was after he fell down. He was walking along a dark valley in the rain. Even though he wasn't force sensitive, he could feel the dark presence around him.
"Damn wingsuit," Thomas grumbled, "I go and modify it and what happens? It gets damaged."
He had his night vision on his mask activated that way he could see in the dark. The trek across the valley became more and more treacherous as the rain poured down more.
"At least my other tech works, except the damn comms," He sighed.
He then found an opening and ran into it. Thomas decided to take a rest there and try to fix the wingsuit with whatever tools he had. Being the genius he is, he had stupidly forgotten Ashla back at the temple so it was going to be a pain in the ass to repair without her help.
Then, he heard a clicking noise behind him. He dropped his tools and pack, sprung up and pulled out his rugers trying to find the source. The soldier narrowed his eyes as he looked around to find out who or what else was in the cave with him.
The redneck then saw movement out of the corner of his eye, but he was too slow to catch it. Then, he heard the same spine-tickling voice he heard earlier, only this time, it was much louder and menacing.
"Hello Tommy…" the voice said, "It's about time we met."
"I know you're here, show yourself," Thomas shouted.
The voice then let out a chuckle. Thomas felt like it was taunting him, like a child. The soldier rapidly looked around to find out who the hell was laughing at him.
"I'm not fucking around, scumbag," Thomas said angrily, "I know you've been tormenting me with nightmares for the past couple months. COME OUT NOW!"
"If you insist so badly," The source of the voice then appeared out of nowhere a little ways away from Thomas.
Thomas' tormenter was dressed in a black robe with the hood up that looked like it had never been taken care of due to how tattered and ripped up it was. The face was a combination of a humanoid skull and cybernetics replacing the eyes, larynx, and some of the teeth. It was
armored lightly with shoulder pads with chains connecting them to a chestplate. On their arms, they had gauntlets along with metal claws replacing the bone that was once their hands. Moving on downward, they had metal shin guards along with some boots that had spikes that were retractable. On their hip, was a lightsaber hilt, but this was a unique lightsaber. This one had a crossguard hilt on it, showing the craftsmanship of such a weapon.
Thomas just stood there in shock, horror, and rage. He was finally able to meet his tormenter face to face. And to say he was pissed off was an understatement.
"Who are you?" the hillbilly demanded.
"I'm the forgotten sith lord from millennia ago, I'm the first sith to achieve immortality through unconventional means," the now proclaimed sith lord said, "I. Am. Darth Cybran."
Thomas' eyes widened. A sith lord? But wasn't there supposed to be only two? And how was he able to torture him with nightmares if he's a force user? This really confused Thomas.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!" Screamed the redneck in rage.
"You, the togruta you love so dearly, your planet, your whole galaxy in fact," Cybran remarked, "Your whole civilization has thrived for centuries without the presence of the force. I'm interested in studying your people and seeing how that is possible, after I conquer this galaxy and yours first."
"Like hell that's going to happen," Thomas spat through gritted teeth, his anger spilling out, "I'm gonna send your metal ass to the deepest, DARKEST PITS. OF. HELL!"
The cyborg sith chuckled, "If it's a fight you want," he unclipped his saber and ignited it, "Then it's a fight you will get. One you won't be walking away from, ALIVE!"
Thomas put away his rugers and pulled out the Darksaber and ignited it. He screamed, mad as hell, all of his pent up anger and rage finally exploding. The difference being, he is focusing it on the sith right before him. He then rushed the sith lord, brandishing his saber. Cybran chuckled before doing the same. The two sabers clashed creating sparks of white and crimson red, igniting a furious duel.
-Scene cut-
After trying to catch up to the Daughter, Anakin got caught up in the same storm that Ahsoka and Obi-Wan got caught up in. He took shelter in a nearby opening in the ground to avoid the lightning strikes. He looked up and saw a bright light coming from a monastery far off into the distance.
"Whoever I'm looking for is in that Monastery."
The Jedi Knight then made his way to said Monastery, which strangely, not touched by the lightning storm occurring outside its walls. Once he made it up the stairs inside, Skywalker was faced with an old man who seemed to be meditating on some sort of pad. Anakin decided to join the old man on the ground as well, sitting crisscrossed from him. Then the old man opened his eyes and spoke.
"Welcome, my friend," he spoke in a reverberated echo.
"What is it that you want from me?" The chosen one asked.
"To learn the truth about who you really are," the old man answered while rising, "One that maybe you have known all along, one you must believe in order to fulfill your destiny."
"Enough with the riddles old man," an annoyed Anakin said, "Tell me what's going on here."
"As you can see, there is nowhere else to go. It is late. You will be my guest tonight."
-Scene Cut-
Inside a cave with crystals that sprouted around them, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan set up an encampment from the storm with a fire going at the center of it all. The padawan was really worried for her boyfriend, and hoped that he was alright. Obi-Wan had faith in the young man as he knew from experience that Thomas would not go out without playing dirty, because his tactics were deemed… uncivilized, by the jedi master. But did Thomas really care? No, he just cared that it was effective and got done. Seems like Sullivans had that mindset after dealing with his older cousin Myles that is.
Right now, Obi-Wan was taking the first watch while the young togruta had slept. Then, he heard a voice he hadn't heard in over a decade but knew all too well.
"Obi-Wan, Have you done as I asked?"
The sight that the jedi saw made him freeze in place.
"Have you trained the boy?"
Seeing the ghost of his former master made Obi-Wan jump to his feet brandishing his lightsaber.
"Master Qui-Gon," the ginger Jedi said, "How are you here?"
"I am here because you are here."
"No, I don't understand," Obi-Wan said in disbelief, "What is this place?"
Then Qui-Gon explained to his former pupil, "Unlike any other conduit through which the entire force of the universe flows."
"Are we in danger?" Obi-Wan asked.
"This planet is both an amplifier and a magnet. Three are here who seek Skywalker. They, like me, believe him to be the chosen one."
"You were right," the Jedi master said, "The force within him is stronger than any known Jedi. I have trained him as well as I could, but he is still willful and balance eludes him."
"If he is the chosen one, he will discover it here."
"And if not?"
"Then you must realize with his power, this is a very dangerous place for him to be."
This made Obi-Wan do the signature beard rub when he's thinking about a topic really deep. Then, when he looked up, the spirit of his master was gone. He looked around to find him but to no avail.
-Scene Cut-
Back at the monastery in his assigned quarters, the Jedi Knight was tossing and turning in his sleep. He then woke up when he heard a voice he had not heard in years as well as her touch.
"Wake up my son," Anakin's "Mother" spoke softly while brushing his face, "I must tell you a secret."
This made Anakin shoot awake, "Who's there? Who's there I said!"
Then his mother appeared behind him. "It's me Ani, your mother."
The jumpy knight sprung off his cot to the other side of the room.
"What kind of black arts is this? You're… dead."
"Nothing ever really dies, my son. I have a secret to tell you."
Anakin furrowed his brow, "Then tell me."
"Everything you have done, everything you have learned has led you here."
"Whatever you are, my mother is… dead."
"And you blame yourself. Your jedi training has served you well, Ani, but you're more than a Jedi. Tell me, where is your pain, so I might take it away."
"I was too late to save you," Anakin said somberly, "I failed as a Jedi and failed you."
"How so?"
"I tasted only vengeance when I slaughtered so many to avenge your death," he spoke bitterly.
"It is time you realized your guilt does not define you, my son. You define your guilt."
"The only love I feel in my heart is haunted by what would happen should I let go."
"Then it is not love. It is a prison."
"But I have a wife. You've met her. She's everything to me."
"She's not your destiny."
"But I love her."
"NO!" "Shmi's" voice became distorted, "She is a poisoner!"
"What are you?" Anakin asked, horrified, as his "Mother" briefly became the same bat creature that was the son.
"YOUR FATE!" it said before vanishing.
-Scene Cut-
As the padawan is resting, a voice started calling out to her now.
"Are you happy, child?" a feminine voice asked the now awake Ahsoka.
Ahsoka lifted her head and looked around to find the source of the voice. Even though she cannot see the source, she can still hear it.
"Your master and lover," it asked again, "Do they treat you well?"
She kept looking around until her eyes landed on a newcomer by the fire. It was an older Togruta woman who looked strangely like her, but much older judging by her montral and lekku size.
"What concern of it, is yours?" Asked the annoyed padawan.
"I am your future, your potential," Future Ahsoka said.
Whipping out both her sabers, Ahsoka had a look of denial on her face, "This is a trick."
"There is a wildness to you, young one. Seeds of the dark side planted by your master and further grown by your lover."
"No," young Ahsoka said defiantly, "Anakin is like no other Jedi. Passionate, impulsive, but I trust him with my life. And Thomas is unlike any man I met. Crazy, unorthodox, but he loves me and I love him."
"There are many contradictions in you, and in both of them."
This made Ahsoka think a bit.
"Be warned. You may never see your future if you remain as Skywalker's student, or Sullivan's lover. Leave this planet!"
With a roar from the fire, Ahsoka's future self disappeared. Turns out it was just a dream, or a force vision she had and woke up.
"Ahsoka?" Obi-Wan asked, concerned.
"I had a vision," She said straight away, "I think both Thomas and Anakin are in trouble."
-Scene Cut-
And Ahsoka's statement was proven right for her lover: Thomas was indeed in trouble. Locked into a grueling duel with his now revealed tormentor, Darth Cybran, he was unleashing all the stress, anxiety, and rage. The sith lord poked the bear for too long. Well, now the grizzly is awake, mad as hell, and out for blood.
Thomas' and Cybran's sabers both clashed creating white and red sparks. The soldier could only growl in anger as he used all of his strength to try and keep the stalemate going, but unfortunately, Cybran was stronger. Pushing the blades back making Thomas stumble, the sith lord lunged for him, making Thomas block the blade again but only at the last second catching him off guard.
This was not good. Thomas knew he was going up against someone far more experienced in him, like a thousand times more experienced. But that wasn't gonna stop him. He tried a little bit of Ataru mixed with Shien to throw the sith lord off balance. He needed to try and get a blow in.
After parrying a double slash, Thomas went for a counter attack straight for the midsection but to his surprise, Cybran was ready for him by blocking the attack. Thomas then smirked at the sith lord, confusing him. Then the shoulder mounted gun Thomas had rose and fired at the cyborg, which he tried deflecting, only he was unsuccessful and he created globs of molten tungsten and singed himself. He wasn't harmed at all. Thomas then tried a missile which landed throwng the cyborg back a bit, but still didn't damage him.
Thomas started to get pissed off that nothing he was doing was damaging the sith lord. Cybran seemed to be damn near indestructible. In a fit of rage, the soldier rushed Cybran and feinted, which caught the sith lord off guard. He was able to stab Cybran a bit which stunned him a bit. When Thomas went for an overhead strike, Cybran used force teleportation which got the both of them into the air.
Now falling, both duelists were now fighting each other with their hands. Thomas utilized his grapple gauntlets a lot in order to land heavy blows on Cybran. It seemed that Cybran had a small weakness to electric shock, so Thomas was doing all he could to try and electrocute said sith lord. When they were about to hit the ground, they were teleported again, to a place right outside the monastery.
Roughed up but still got fight left in him, Thomas stood up and drew his saber again. Gripping the handle he watched the sith lord intensely for any sudden movement. He then heard the sith lord chuckle cybernetically.
"You're only delaying the inevitable Sullivan," The cyborg laughed out, "You will be mine, and so will your galaxy, this one, and THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE!"
"You had centuries to do that," Thomas replied, "Why now?!"
"Because of the turmoil in the galaxy, the civil war, no one is going to worry about a rogue sith wandering the galaxy while the war is happening, perfect opportunity to strike."
"Like hell," breathed Thomas.
He went for another slash which was quickly blocked by Cybran. Using his free hand, the sith lord grabbed Thomas and tried to choke him. But the cross necklace and bible verse tattoo began to glow a sun yellow, which seemed to harm the sith lord. Cybran hissed in anger and pain.
"HOW?!."
Thomas too was puzzled then he realized that Cybran is a dark side user, which could be considered demonic, making him impervious to holy relics and symbols. This made Thomas smirk as he now realized he has a real edge against Cybran.
"Guess the darkside hates holy relics," the redneck smirked while tapping his crucifix necklace.
"SORCERY!"
"No, spirituality."
Cybran angrily hissed and then teleported away, taking the coward's way out. This pissed Thomas off as his tormentor got away just when he got the upper hand.
"MOTHERFUCKER!" screamed the soldier.
He looked around for any sign of the sith lord when he noticed the monastery. It seemed that's where everyone else might be. Maybe a chance to get off this planet or find Cybran. Whatever it is, the answers should be there. He began the trek to the Monastery.
-Scene cut-
Back at the monastery, The Father was meditating on his mat in front of the throne. The hiss of a lightsaber activated revealing an azure blade.
"Cannot sleep?" the father asked, eyes closed with the blade mere centimeters from his face, "To strike an unarmed man is hardly the Jedi way."
"You're a sith lord," Anakin accused the force user.
"You have a very simple view of the universe. I am neither Sith nor Jedi. I am much more… and so are you."
"I see through your spells and visions, old man," the knight replied angrily, "Tell me what is going on here."
Then the Father did something Anakin didn't even think was possible: He grabbed the blade of the lightsaber and held it in his hand, making Anakin flabbergasted.
"Some call us force-wielders."
Anakin's saber was then deactivated by the father, shocking him even more.
"The Jedi never spoke of this," a shocked skywalker spoke.
"Hm, few still know of our existence."
Anakin pointed towards his quarters.
"In that room, my mother came to me, but it was not her. It was something else."
"Ah, my son, I suspect. We can take many forms. The shapes we embody are merely a reflection of the life force around us." He then felt Anakin's grief, "You carry a great sadness in your heart. My children and I can manipulate the force like no other, therefore, it was necessary to withdraw from the temporal world and live here as anchorites."
"As a sanctuary?"
"And a prison. You cannot imagine what pain it is to have such love for your children and realize they could tear the very fabric of our universe."
"I don't understand."
"It is only here that I can control them… a family in balance. The light, and the dark. Day with night. Destruction replaced by creation."
"Then why reveal yourselves to us?"
"There are some who would like to exploit our power. The sith are but one. Too much dark or light would be the undoing of life as you understand it. When news reached me that the chosen one had been found, I needed to see for myself."
"The chosen one is a myth."
"Is it? I would very much like to know. Why don't we find out together? Pass one test, and I shall know the truth. Then, you and your friends may leave."
-Scene cut-
Cut to Ahsoka and Obi-Wan walking to the monastery when they saw all the plant life suddenly being revitalized whenever the sunlight hit it.
"The longer we stay here, the stranger this place gets," Ahsoka said.
"It appears the planet is renewing itself," Obi-Wan commented.
"What about Master Skywalker, or Thomas?" Ahsoka said with worry.
"Anakin will not be easy to deceive," Obi-wan reassured her, "And Thomas is a willful man."
Unbeknownst to them, two flying creatures were flying above them, ready to strike. The two unsuspecting jedi didn't realize this until it was too late. They were then taken by said creatures.
Back at the monastery, Anakin and the Father were in a courtyard of some kind, ready to test the Father's question.
"It is time to face your guilt, and know the truth."
As if on cue, the same two flying creatures flew in each carrying a figure by their claws. Anakin realized who they were carrying: Ahsoka and Obi-Wan. Ahsoka was being held by the bat creature while Obi-Wan was being held by the griffin.
The bat creature then roared.
"Whatever it wants, don't do it master," the padawan yelled out.
Then Anakin turned to the griffin who held obi-wan who was struggling to get free.
"Let them go," Anakin growled, "I will not play your games."
"Oh, but I think you will. I have ordered your children to kill your friends. The question is…" The father disappeared and reappeared on a platform, "Which one will you choose to save? Your master, or your apprentice?"
Then the loading of a shotgun got the attention of the father as he turned to find a roughed up, bruised, bloody, and pissed off Thomas aiming his 10 gauge at the embodiment of the force.
"Forgot one friend, you fop," Thomas spat, "Let my girlfriend go, and I won't turn your ass into swiss cheese."
The father simply force pushed Thomas back, knocking him out.
"THOMAS!" Anakin shouted.
"Now, you must release the guild and free yourself by choosing."
"NO!" Anakin yelled.
"Their powers are too strong for us Anakin," Obi-Wan spoke, "Save Ahsoka."
Anakin turned to his padawan, who was crying out in pain which got the attention of Thomas. He tried to run after her only to be stopped by the Father again.
"SON OF A BITCH," he grunted out.
"Let. Them. Go," Anakin ordered.
"Only you can make my children release them."
"ANAKIN, the planet is the force, use it," Obi-Wan instructed.
Concentrating all his strength in the force, Anakin sent a shockwave affecting the two celestials.
"You will let them go!" he ordered with several voices instead of one, similar to the Father.
Then the celestials felt themselves snagged up into the air and held there by Anakin. The sky switched from day to night in an instant. He then made both force embodiments release their prey softly to the ground. Anakin pulled both of them inwards before pushing both of them back towards the wall, momentarily dazing them. When they tried to kill their prey however, Anakin held them in place once again and pulled them in closer.
"ON YOUR KNEES!" He ordered the two beasts.
The celestials then were forcefully brought to their knees by Anakin, making them revert back to their humanoid selves. The two Jedi were still on their guard if the two celestials were to try anything.
"And now you see who you truly are," The Father spoke while approaching Anakin, holding Thomas with the force, "Only the chosen one could tame both my children."
Thomas was then released and fell to the ground, and joined Ahsoka who jumped onto him, giving him a clinging hug.
"I have taken your test," Anakin said, "Now fulfill your promise and let us go."
"Ah but you first must understand the truth. Now, all of you, leave us."
Ahsoka then whispered to Anakin, "Do not trust him," And left still clinging to Thomas along with Obi-Wan and the celestials.
"Do you feel your destiny? You must see it now. I am dying, and you must replace me."
Anakin was in disbelief, "Replace you? I can't stay here."
"But this is yours, it has been foretold. The chosen one will remain to keep my children in balance."
"No," Anakin affirmed.
The father sighed, "I cannot force you to do this. The choice must be yours. But leave, and your selfishness shall haunt you and the galaxy."
Cut to the shuttle parked outside the castle. Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Thomas, and Anakin were about to leave.
"Are you ready?" Obi-Wan said to Anakin.
"We can't leave," Thomas said, "Not yet."
This got the attention of all three Jedi.
"Are you crazy?" Asked Obi-Wan.
"Why do you wanna stay?" Anakin said.
"Does it have to do with your wounds?" Ahsoka asked.
"Okay okay, one at a time dammit," Thomas said, annoyed and sighed, "Yes, it has to do with my wounds. While Anakin was playing God, I was getting my ass handed to me by a sith lord who's been impacting my sleep for several months now."
This got the shock of Ahsoka who was the first to hear of this.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she asked.
"Because I thought it was just dreams," replied the soldier, "But this is no dream. He's very much real."
"Who's he?" Obi-Wan asked, "Who is this sith lord?"
"His name," Thmas began, "is Darth Cybran."
This got worried looks from everyone as they tried to wonder how a sith lord ended up on Mortis. For now, they knew he had to be taken care of and they would ask questions later. Now was a time to regroup, rest up, and prepare.
Outro music "Push" brought to you by Matchbox twenty.
Said I don't know if I've ever been good enough
I'm a little bit rusty, and I think my head is cavin' in
And I don't know if I've ever been really loved
By a hand that's touched me
And I feel like something's gonna give
And I'm a little bit angry, well
This ain't over, no, not here
Not while I still need you around
You don't owe me, we might change, yeah
Yeah, we just might feel good
I wanna push you around
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna push you down
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna take you for granted
Well, I wanna take you for granted
Yeah, yeah, well, I will
She said I don't know why you ever would lie to me
Like I'm a little untrustin'
When I think that the truth is gonna hurt ya
And I don't know why you couldn't just stay with me
You couldn't stand to be near me
When my face don't seem to want to shine
'Cause it's a little bit dirty, oh, well
Well, don't just stand there, sayin' nice things to me
'Cause I've been cheated, I've been wronged and you
You don't know me, yeah, well, I can't change
Well, I won't do anything at all
I wanna push you around
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna push you down
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna take you for granted
Yeah, I wanna take you for granted
Yeah, yeah, well, I will
Oh, but don't bowl me over
Just wait a minute, well, it kinda fell apart, things
Things get so crazy, crazy
Don't rush this, baby
Don't rush this, baby, baby
I wanna push you around
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna push you down
Well, I will, well, I will
I wanna take you for granted, yeah, yeah, yeah
I wanna take you, take you
Yeah, well, I will
I will, I will, I will, yeah
Well, I will, well, I will, yeah
Push you around
And drag you down
I wanna push you around
Well, I will
