The lights flicker on as the door rolls into a recess, leaving a dark cavernous entrance. My eyes widen. It's like the scene from the Fallout movie. Everything about it is similar. Even the door is the same, but the color of the lights is different. I step forward and see the faded letters and numbers of a yellowed out map on the wall. "I think this is a Vault...I mean this can't be real right?" I said mostly to myself, but Ruby's voice pulled me from my thoughts. "A vault? What's that?" I look at her. "It's hard to explain, but I think there may be something dangerous inside of it." I took a deep breath and walked inside.

I found the stairs to the second level almost immediately. The lights were still flickering on and off but as I made my way down the stairs I could see that this part of the Vault looked to be in slightly better shape than the outside. The first room I walked into had been stripped of its furnishings and appeared to be a small medical examination room. It was covered with thick dust and cobwebs, but in the center was a computer terminal that had been placed on a table. I dusted off the terminal. Stable-TECH was inscribed on the side. There were several large cassette-like disk next to it. Out of curiosity I inserted one into a slot on the side of the Terminal. An indicator turned green before a small fan kicked on and started humming. The monitor flickered to life and several windows popped up on it. I blinked and read over them before clicking on one.

I frowned. 'According to this there's only a few months of power left. It also says that the vault's on a backup system. So, whatever is inside of here must have been important.' I rubbed the back of my neck, "Alright, first thing is first... find food and water. Hopefully they had some in storage." I turned around and saw Ruby was floating around the room, examining everything. She glanced at me. "So... You really are human?" I nodded, "Yep!" " That is really strange though." She said . "Yeah? For you I guess it is pretty strange, but you know what else is strange? You're a talking horse!" She giggled and shrugged. "Fair point." She continued looking around the room, taking the time to touch objects and examine things more closely. My stomach growled. "I wonder if there's anything here I can eat."
