Ch. 13 The Next MoveGJSDF Houston, Texas 8:33 a. m.

Olives eyes opened groggily to stare at the white ceiling of the room. Kim moved to sit up and as soon as she did, she felt the pain course through her body. She hissed and she felt her arms strain under her weight.

She looked at the bandaging that wrapped around her torso. The doctors said she was going to be fine and there was no sign of radiation poisoning but she would go for treatment just to be sure. The doctors did say that the red head would have permanent scar from the event. Something that would serve as a powerful reminder of how bad situations can turn and will turn in her future as a soldier.

She reached over and grabbed her bottle of water and twisted open the cap. She gulped down the bottle of Ice Mountain and she felt better as if she could feel the water healing her. She looked over to her left at the window before reaching her hand out to peer through the blinds. She saw the other soldiers exercising and seen her colleagues Brick, Zita and Felix running through the obstacle course that Betty had set up for them.

She sighed, it was going to be torture for her. She had to sit on the sidelines something she Kim knew she had no tolerance for. She groaned at the thought, she was already starting to feel useless. She knew better though. Her mind was telling her to be grateful because she could've died on that island. She mentally sighed as she prepared to lay back down, but then there was a knock at her door.

"Come in." She said, not bothering to ask who was at her door.

Betty stared at the paperwork before her. She was going over the report that was filed by Jacob and Destiny prior to returning to the United States. Jacob sat with Shego and Yori as Destiny was being looked at by a medical examiner.

She sat the papers down before looking at the group before her. The look in the Director's eye let them know she was not happy.

"So let me get this straight." Betty started. "You thought it would be a good idea to bring two operatives with no prior experience out in the field on such a dangerous mission, one of which was injured." She said staring at her 1st lieutenant.

"With all due respect it is because of Kim and her friends that we were able to obtain not only where the kaiju call home, but information regarding what W. E. E. has been up to in the past years." Jacob reminded her.

"But at what cost Jacob? You have to realize the severity at stake. What happened out there was luck. If the JSDF hadn't arrived when they did…"

"I get that Dr. Director." Jacob interrupted. "I really do and I take full responsibility for what transpired on Monster Island. What happened to Kim could have been prevented."

"Yes, and I could criticize you about what could have happened all morning, but I'm not." Betty said.

Betty's response surprised the group of soldiers. They were used to getting reprimanded by the old war horse.

"These reports say that not only does my brother control a kaiju but he has a super soldier as well?" She asked with a craned eyebrow.

"The bitch was on some type of steroids Betty. Her reflexes were faster than mine. She even beat Yori."

"Really?" Betty said with some surprise. That was interesting as Yori was one of their best fighters. "You know this woman am I correct?" She asked.

Yori nodded. She knew Betty would want answers about her history with Yin. Hopefully she would be able to convince Betty on trying to capture the woman.

"What about Possible?" Shego asked.

"She should still be recovering. It will be a few weeks to a month before she's back to her old self." Betty replied as she leaned back in her chair. "By that time hopefully she's chosen a new career path."

"What do you mean career path?" Shego asked her superior as her eyebrow arched.

"Her father is going to pull her from the Force." The one eyed woman responded.

Shego, Yori and Jacob held shocked expressions on their faces. Shego felt some of her anger rise from her stomach.

"He can't do that!" Shego protested.

"I'm pretty sure he can. He is her father after all." Betty reminded her.

Shego slammed her right fist on the desk, disapproval written all over her face. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Shego got up and started to exit the room before Betty interrupted her.

"It's not your place to say anything. You may not like it but I'm sure by now you know a lot of things happen that we don't like in life." Betty told her soldier

Shego clenched her fists tighter as she stood in the doorway of Betty's office.

"That's why we fight to change things for the better." The raven haired woman responded before leaving.

Kim looked on as the door to her room slowly opened and a woman walked in.

"Bonnie?" Kim said surprised to see the brunette standing in her doorway.

Bonnie looked around the red head's room. This was the first time she had been in here and she was surprised by the tone of it. There was a signed Skillet poster hanging on the wall a few feet above her pillows. On the red head's bed sat pink satin sheets, with white pillow cases. On Kim's bed also sat a stuffed animal.

"Is that a cuddle buddy?" Bonnie asked.

"Yeah it's my pandaroo. What about it?" Kim asked grabbing the plushie.

Kim eyed Bonnie waiting for the brunette to taunt her. However Bonnie said nothing as she stood in the doorway. She studied the red head's room more spotting various hair care products and makeup. Some of which Bonnie also used.

"I'm not going to insult you first year." Bonnie said. "I'll save that ammo for later. I just wanted to see how you were feeling." Bonnie said looking off as she kept looking around Kim's room.

"I've had better days." The red head admitted. "Still I'm surprised that you were worried about me." Kim said with a small smile.

Bonnie saw the smile and her cheeks turned red. She felt her body tense up and she stiffened up a bit.

"Don't get it twisted Possible. I honestly could care less about how you feel. I just have a conscious that's all." Bonnie said correcting Kim.

"Yes a conscious that shows you care for other people than yourself." Kim replied quickly.

Bonnie's face frowned up a bit. But liking how the red head turned her words back on her. Kim couldn't help but laugh at the expression the brunette was emitting. Soon Kim's joy turned to pain as she grabbed her left side and groaned.

"Are you ok?" Bonnie asked.

Before the staff sergeant knew what she herself was doing she was at the red head's side. Kim was surprised by Bonnie's actions and she looked back at her.

"I'll be fine. I just laughed a little too hard." She said.

Bonnie took notice of Kim's bottle of water and reached out for it. She opened the top and gave the bottle to her fellow soldier. Kim drank the water emptying the rest of the bottle. She exhaled before laying back down.

"Didn't mean to scare you." Kim said with another small smile.

Bonnie gave the red head an incredulous look. "As if!" She responded. "You clearly need your rest. So I'm just gonna go. I have somewhere to be anyway."

"You're leaving already?" Kim said throwing the brunette woman a sad look. "But you just got here."

"Like I said I was just making sure you were doing ok. I didn't come here to babysit." Bonnie told her and turned to leave.

Bonnie hadn't taken her first step away from Kim's bed before she felt the red head grab her wrist. Bonnie froze in her tracks as she felt her body tense up again and her heart start to beat faster. Why did Kim just grab me? The brunette wondered.

"Bonnie don't go. Stay just for a bit. At least until I fall back asleep from these pain meds." Kim half joked.

Bonnie didn't look back at Kim as she remained in her mid stride pose. Her right foot hovering a few inches off the floor. Why would Kim even want her to stay and talk to her after she treated her so badly since they first met? Bonnie still wasn't sure why she attacked Kim the way she did. Just like she wasn't sure why she had entered Kim's room. She just knew something told her that she needed to be here. Maybe she was trying to make sense about her feelings of the night before.

Honestly she didn't know what she would do. Her mind was racing as fast as her heart. Calm down she told herself. Bonnie could feel her heartbeat slow down back to its regular pace. The brunette knew there was something she needed to confirm about herself.

Bonnie placed her right foot on the floor. She knew Kim was waiting for a response from her. She could feel the redhead staring a hole in the back of her head. She relaxed some more and her body loosened up, no longer tense as before. Without turning to look at Kim she merely nodded letting Kim know she would keep her company.

Shego was beyond heated. She angrily marched down the halls of the base. She tried to keep her cool and she tried to mind her business and keep her words to herself. However she wasn't exactly known for doing either of those things, especially when it concerned a matter as serious as this one.

She pushed past new recruits as she continued on her way earning her a few glares. The more experienced soldiers knew to stay clear when Shego was in one of her moods. She couldn't believe what Betty had told her. Was Dr. Possible out of his mind? Of course he was. There is no way I'm letting him take Princess away from me. That thought alone stopped Shego in her tracks.

Did she really consider Kim hers? Let alone did she have the right? Shego was taken from her thoughts when she heard the voice of the man she has been scouring the base for. Dr. Possible rounded the corner with Vivian as the two were going over schematics for their mechanic they called Jet Jaguar. Jet Jaguar has been on the shelf for some years due to the amount of time that was spent working on Kiryu but now they were hoping to get back on track.

Shego's face turned into a scowl once more as she stormed right over to Dr. Possible.

"You have a lot of nerve Doc!" Shego announced, the fury present in her eyes.

"Excuse me?" Dr. Possible responded not knowing what Shego was getting at.

"You can't pull Kim from the Force." She told him.

"And why not?" James asked with an arched eyebrow.

"Because it should be her choice. She made the decision to enlist and it should be her decision to leave." She said making her tone of disapproval known.

"Well Kim doesn't always make the right decisions. While I may have to live with some of her choices. I rather live with them than live without her." He told Shego.

"What happened out there was an accident. It's a part of being a soldier. We face danger everyday, our line of work isn't exactly environment friendly." The raven haired woman replied.

"What happened yesterday was luck. She could have been killed by either that woman or your powers! You may not see the danger in it, but I do. And as her father I have the final say." He said practically scolding the woman.

"You don't always know what's best for her." Shego countered.

"And you do?" Was his response as he took a step closer to her. "I'm not blaming you for what happened to my daughter, but you can't protect her, don't try to convince that you can."

Shego fell silent, she couldn't convince Dr. Possible to think otherwise. He placed his hand on Shego's shoulder.

"I appreciate your concern and I'm glad that you think about Kim as such a good friend but my mind is made up. Next friday she's gonna be flown back to Middleton." He said as he and Vivian continued on their way.

Shego mentally cursed herself. She refused to let Kim go without a fight. She needed to find Destiny, she'd know what needed to be done.

"She didn't lecture you?" Destiny asked.

Jacob shook his head. "Nope. Maybe she was too stressed to do so. I thought for sure she was going to demote me." He said.

They stood in the room of the medical examiner. It was under Betty's orders that she be examined after using her powers. After briefing Betty on their mission he met back with Destiny. His concern about Destiny's health has been on his mind. She's been unable to keep certain food down and she seemed even more fatigued since using her abilities.

"So what did the doctor say?" The lieutenant asked.

"Well my body is showing signs of stress since having used my abilities but not to the degree that it would have been causing me to hurl whatever I eat. So he ran some tests and now I'm waiting on the results." She explained.

Jacob took her hand into his and gave her a gentle squeeze letting her know she would be just fine. Destiny looked up at him and smiled at him. It helped knowing that he was here to see her through rough times. Her smile faded however and that made Jacob worry.

"Do you think we'll be fighting kaiju for the rest of our lives?" Destiny asked him.

He shook his head. "Of course not. I don't plan on having us waste our lives wrestling with giant monsters. I want to get married and have kids, ya know." He said.

"Really and who would be the lucky gal?"

"I've had my eye on this one chick with beautiful Snow White hair and violet eyes." He mused.

Destiny chuckled and leaned in for a kiss. Jacob leaned over and shared a kiss with his lover. He was glad the day he met Destiny. She brought the light into his darkening world.

"Ms. Go." The doctor said addressing her as he walked back in. "I have your results."

Bonnie sat in the room with Kim. The red head had fell asleep after talking with her. Bonnie actually enjoyed the conversation with her though she wouldn't openly admit it. Bonnie admitted to herself that she liked Kim. She liked both Kim and Shego. Great she mentally said to herself. She liked girls and she had no valid explanation for how that even came about.

She looked back at the sleeping redhead. She found out they were quite similar. Liking the same kinds of foods and shopping centers. She learned Kim's favorite hangout spots back in Colorado and Kim learned hers. Bonnie stood up,she still needed to process the information.

Before she left she refilled Kim's bottle of water before giving the sleeping woman one more glance. Bonnie then turned to exit the room. The brunette quietly opened and closed the door. She released the door when she the audible click and turned around to be confronted by Ron.

"What were you doing?" The blonde asked her. He was eyeing her suspiciously as he looked her up and down trying to see if she had stolen something from his best friends room.

"Nothing." Bonnie replied cooly even though she was surprised by his sudden appearance.

"Why were you in Kim's room?" he asked his arms now folded across his chest.

"I was just checking on her." Bonnie admitted.

Ron gave her a look letting her know she didn't believe his story. It was at this time Ron's pet naked mole rat Rufus climbed out of his pocket and scurried up to his shoulder.

"You believing her story?" Ron asked the mole rat, to which the creature responded by shaking his head no. "Yeah me either. You hate Kim so why would you care if she's alright or not." He pointed out.

Bonnie sighed. "One I don't hate her, I dislike her." Bonnie said correcting the man and his pet. "Two I do have a conscious and I was just being a decent human being." she said.

"You really expect us to believe that YOU of all people have a good conscious?"

Bonnie waved her hands in the air in a slightly dramatic motion. "Oh no Bonnie is actually nice, I think I'm about to have a heart attack." She said mocking Ron as she tried to mimic his voice.

Bonnie then got in the young man's face. "Not a word of this to anybody. I have a reputation to uphold here." She said as she poked him in his chest. "If I hear about this from anyone else, I'll kill your stupid rat." She threatening Ron.

Both Ron and Rufus swallowed hard and Rufus made a mad dash for his masters pocket hoping to find safety inside.

"Are we clear?" Bonnie asked him.

Ron only nodded to which made Bonnie smile in return. She patted Ron on his head and walked away. Bonnie let out a sigh as she rounded the corner. She needed a drink.

Shego couldn't get Destiny to answer her phone. So she was heading up to the medical examiners room. That was her older sister's last known location. Shego exited the elevator getting off on the fifth floor. She casually strolled down the halls until she came to the examiners room. She could hear voices which she immediately recognized as Destiny and Jacob.

She let out a sigh. Jacob was always around her sister. She wondered how Destiny put up with such a heavy stalker. She knew they had great team synergy that's why they were chosen as Kiryu's pilots. That didn't mean that he got to occupy every minute of Destiny's time. She would have said something about it a while ago, but Destiny never made any complaints so Shego never made a scene.

Shego opened the door to see tears running down her older sister's face and Jacob was holding her tightly.

"What's wrong? It isn't the twins is it?" She asked fearing that something happened to her youngest siblings. "Will somebody fill me in?" She asked.

Destiny chuckled making Shego arch her eyebrow. The raven haired woman instantly recognized the clipboard with Destiny's vitals on it and she picked it up and began to skim through it. The only thing was she wasn't able to make out what it was saying. Other than that Destiny wasn't bring affected by the use of her radioactive powers.

"Calm down Shego. Nothing bad happened." Destiny said swing her younger sister in apparent distraught.

"Then why were you crying?" She asked.

"A miracle happened." Destiny said.

"A miracle?" said as her face scrunched up some. "The only miracle that could happen is Mego getting laid." She half joked. "Dear god he didn't knock up his only one night stand did he?" She asked fearing that her younger brothers self absorbed attitude would be picked up by any offspring he might have.

"No." Destiny reassured her with a light chuckle.

"Good, I don't want a repeat of how mom and dad met." Shego said shaking her head.

"Damn if you'd let me talk, I'd tell you why I'm so emotional."

You're always emotional. Was the thought going through the younger woman's head but she gestured for older sister to continue.

Destiny looked up at Jacob he gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze and nodded.

"Shego, I'm pregnant."

Well that's should get you all hooked lol. Destiny is with child so how will that affect her ability to handle a mecha, and more importantly how will Shego take the news? Found out in the next chapter. The next update is for the crossover story Midoriichi Fate of Two Worlds. See you guys in a bit.
