JLU SPIDER-FRIENDS VOL. 1: THE JOURNEY BEGINS
Chapter 22: Catalysis Part 2
Hello again! Bet you didn't expect THIS get updated so soon, did you? Well, no matter, we'll soon see how much this chapter can deliver. Course, I don't blame anyone for NOT posting any reviews right away, I can only hope that all of you faithful readers out there will come to enjoy this chapter, and the rest of the chapters that will be posted very soon. Along the way, I've also managed to get started with the first chapter of my very own, yet very first Marvel crossover with the Transformers, which turns out to be one of the things I've planning on doing. This'll soon be followed by the first very chapter of U.S. Joe, an upcoming Captain America & G.I. Joe crossover and, not to mention, the very first one by yours truly, since no one else has EVER thought about it before. But enough about that, right now is the time to see how this chapter turned out. The last time we left off with this story was when Spidey and the Man of Steel went with Huntress to rescue Question from Project Cadmus, only to get opposed by Captain Atom, who's apparently sided with the people at Cadmus, but in truth is seriously brainwashed.
Now, here's a quick disclaimer: I don't own anything from off of the Spider-Man and Justice League franchises, both of which belong to Marvel and DC. I just own the ideas that I've come up with for this story.
Alright, let's get on with it. Spider-Man, would you kindly do the honors?
Spidey: I'll be glad to. Ladies and gentlemen! Boys and girls! Time to present the next exiting chapter of JLU Spider-Friends Vol. 1!
Nothing had ever prepared the three heroes for what was happening right now. One minute they were in the middle of rescuing Question and taking him out of Cadmus, but the next minute they were now being confronted by Captain Atom, one of their most trusted allies, and he sounded like he was now working for the people of Project Cadmus. Of course, even Spider-Man now realized that was the reason why his spider sense was going nuts right now, it was the captain himself who set it off. He quickly but quietly relayed this information to Superman, who didn't feel very pleased with the captain's sudden change in behavior. "Oh come on now, this is ridiculous," the Kryptonian said to the energy-manipulating hero. "You can either help us get Question out of here, or get out of the way."
"Not gonna happen, Superman," the captain answered before firing a red blast of energy from his hand, sending the last son of Krypton all the way down the hall and right into a concrete wall, he got covered in rumble. This drew looks of alarm from the webslinger and the bow-wielding woman, the change of the situation was definitely starting to become a real problem, not only did they need to save Question, but they also had to deal with Captain Atom, who was almost every bit as powerful as Superman.
"I control radiation, Superman," the captain went on, "Especially the radiation of a red sun."
"That can't be good," Spider-Man muttered quietly to Huntress, who could only nod in agreement. However, the captain's statement didn't stop Superman from getting back up and charging at him with full speed, knocking Captain Atom right into another wall in the opposite direction.
"Go on, get Question out of here! Contact the Watchtower and inform them of what's happening! But AFTER you get outside, these walls have thick shielding and can jam any signal!" Superman ordered as he prepared to deal with Captain Atom, who just managed to recover and got right back up to attack once again, only for Superman to deliver an uppercut to his jaw. Then the two almost, equally-matched powerhouses commenced in an all-out brawl, whilst Spider-Man and Huntress took Question away from the fight so they could get him out of there, and back to the Watchtower. Along the way, there came the biggest tremors that were caused by Superman and Captain Atom in the midst of their superpowered struggle, and eventually the faceless detective started to regain consciousness and looked up at the woman who cared for him.
"You shouldn't have come for me," he groaned in immense pain.
"Don't talk like that," Huntress admonished him gently as she continued to carry him, "We'll have you out of here in a few minutes, and you can finally enjoy the joy of freedom once again."
Pretty soon, they came to one of the heavy duty doors that would open into Cadmus, and when Huntress tried to open it up, all she got was: "Access Denied".
"Oh great," she muttered, "First, we run into Captain Atom who's not acting like himself, now we have to deal with trying to open some damn door."
"Mind if I give you a hand?" Spider-Man asked as politely as he could.
"No thanks," Huntress answered, although she appreciated the assistance in going to rescue Question, there weren't many things that she couldn't handle all by herself. "I can take care of this, if you don't mind."
"Okay, suite yourself," Spider-Man sighed in disbelief, he then proceeded to keep a lookout for any other interlopers who might try and prevent their escape. Just as Huntress was still working on disconnecting some wires in order to open up the door, several security guards showed up once more to detain them.
"Spider-Man?" asked Huntress in concern.
"Don't worry," he assured her, "I'll deal with these bozos, you just keep working on those wires." As soon as he said that, the young web-slinging hero leaped into the air and tackled two of the security goons from Cadmus head on. The rest of the mercenaries tried to open fire while he was still occupied with the first two, but then he just slung them around and knocked the others all over the place. Once he had done just that, the wallcrawler then proceeded to web up all the security goons to keep them from interfering. Somehow, just as he was still doing that, and Huntress was still busy with the lock, there came a loud explosion that just rocked the entire room. Spider-Man looked up in time to Superman who was still dealing with the apparent turncoat captain, both of whom threw each other all over the place until the Kryptonian managed to grab a hold of the captain and drove him straight through the wall, which was exactly where Huntress was still trying her best to unlock and open the main door. All this left behind a huge hole right where Huntress had been trying to open up the door, but then again, this was very much a different story.
"Well, I guess he gave us an opening by making a door," she remarked while she started to carry the Question again, Spider-Man proceeded to guide both of them to an exit by using his spider sense. He didn't stop until they reached a really long flight of stairs that led straight up to the roof and the Question saw all that, he wasn't feeling up to it.
"Go on without me," he said weakly, "I can't make it."
"Yes, you can," Huntress insisted. As she spoke, she drew out her crossbow and fired a grappling hook into the air. Once it had hooked onto the highest beam on the ceiling, she proceeded to pull them both up, Spider-Man did the same and he followed close behind. Then, they reached the stairway that led straight up to a door that, once Spidey had broken it down, opened onto the roof. If they were still inside the facility, they would've had a hard time trying to get in contact with the Watchtower and the signal would easily be scrambled, since Cadmus HQ was built to block any kind of transmission. But now that they were on the roof, it was a completely different story, they could now send a clear transmission to alert the other heroes out in space about their current situation. Luckily, Spider-Man just happened to have a communication device installed in his mask, so he could contact the Watchtower and inform anyone on board about what they were doing at the present moment. Tapping the side of his mask, the young man called up the first person that he just thought of.
"Hey, J'onn, this is Spidey," he announced as loudly as he possibly could.
"What is it, Spider-Man?" J'onn's voice answered over the frequency with the utmost concern. "It has been quite a long while since we last spoke. What could possibly be so important right now?"
"Me and Superman were helping Huntress with rescuing Question from Cadmus Headquarters just now," the wallcrawler informed the Martian as best he could, "But now, Superman's busy dealing with Captain Atom, who's somehow been turned against us, and we require some assistance in getting Question beamed up to the Watchtower and putting him in sick bay."
"When I last spoke to Huntress, it was when she was being expelled from the Justice League for trying to take the law into her own hands by attempting to commit murder," J'onn reminded his young friend.
"Yeah, I can understand that clearly, J'onn," Spider-Man answered calmly, "But there's no time to argue about that. Just beam up both Huntress and Question onto the telepad, and then send someone else down to help me in assisting Superman against Captain Atom."
"Very well," J'onn replied before complying to the web-head's request and then all at once, Huntress and Question both disappeared in a flash of light. J'onn then proceeded to ask the young hero a specific question, "Who do you wish for me to send down there for assistance?"
Back inside the Cadmus Compound
Superman and Captain Atom were still going at it, each combatant was never letting up and each one never stopping to give the other enough time to even recover. One minute was when the captain was persistently blasting Superman with all his atomic beams of energy, and the next thing that happened was when the man of steel himself managed to grab a hold of his wayward friend and bashed him with both of his fists, before throwing him into a wall that was in the opposite direction. Even as he was being thrown really hard, that alone wasn't enough to deter Captain Atom from turning his body around in midair before he propelled forward and attacked Superman, tackling him to the ground. Then he proceeded to butt his head against the Kryptonian's, driving into the floor, hoping to take down once and for all. But before he could go any further, a sudden blast of blue energy knocked him right off of Superman and into a different section of the facility, right through a different wall. Upon noticing the outcome, Superman got up off the floor and the faces of two familiar persons standing before him.
"Spider-Man?" he stared at the young man in a colorful mask before turning to the other individual who had also arrived on the scene, this one happening to be wearing an advanced armor of some kind. But when he examined him even more closely, that was when he immediately realized who this particular person was.
"Cyborg? What are you doing here?" Superman inquired before turning to Spider-Man for an explanation. "I thought I told you to just help Huntress get Question up to the Watchtower? If memory serves correct, then you do know that I actually told you not to wait up for me."
"Well, you certainly didn't say not bring any backup," Spider-Man reminded the older man, "But rest assured, Huntress did get Question up to the Watchtower and then, I made a request to J'onn to send down Cyborg. I kinda figured that we were going to need a hand in dealing with the captain."
Nothing could stop Superman from smiling at his youngest friend. Before he could make another objection, Cyborg cut in to remind them both of the most current situation. "Hey guys! Sorry to interrupt, but I've just figured out what's really wrong with the captain!"
Both men turned their attention to the cybernetic teenager, who had just finished examining Captain Atom, and each of them wondered what the problem could be. They only got further concerned when Victor showed them a holographic image of Captain Atom's anatomy, with one type of sensory that looked almost like a tumor right on the spot where the captain's brain was located. "I just finished up with an analysis on the captain's behavioral patterns," he explained to them as carefully as possible, "It kinda looks like a tumor, but I think that it's more than that. Somehow, from the way that the captain's been acting, it's almost as if he's been brainwashed in some way, which might have something to do with his current behavior. So, it's possible that he's not acting on his own accord."
Spider-Man and Superman were both taken aback from this information. But, now they knew why the captain had been trying his best to keep them from taking Question out of the facility, and they needed to end this as quickly as possible. So they all turned to the captain, who had just gotten back on his feet once again and was ready to charge. But luckily, all three of them were ready for him, and this time, they wouldn't be holding back or taking it easy either. Just as the radioactive hero came lunging forward, he readied both his fists with burning energy and was just about to attack Superman again, only to get his face covered in webbing. All that gave Cyborg an opportunity to ready both blasters on both his arms and he opened fire on the brainwashed captain, knocking him into the wall that wasn't too far from where they were. But even after he was knocked down, Captain Atom could still manage to tear the webbing off of his face and quickly turned his attention to Cyborg, trying to make an attempt to tear the cybernetic teen limb from limb. Luckily, Cyborg was also capable of flying, thanks to his rocket-powered booster, which enabled him to dodge all of the captain's atomic energy blasting, so he could land another hit on the wayward Leaguer without any problems. Spider-Man also pitched in to help, he swung forward on his webs and landed on the captain's back before covering the captain's eyes with both hands, thus becoming a real problem for Captain Atom, causing him to halt with his assault against the other two and tried to get the wallcrawling hero off his back, but then Superman was back and came flying forward with both fists in front of him.
"Spider-Man, move! Get out of the way!" he shouted, the webslinger quickly did as he was told and jumped off the captain's back right before the Man of Steel tackled his radioactive opponent and bashed him into the floor. Then he took a piece of thick rebar out of the concrete and twisted it around the captain's wrists, tightening it as hard as he could. "That's quite enough of the energy blasts," he said to the wayward captain.
Unfortunately, Captain Atom would not take that laying down, and he still refused to give up, no matter how hard the situation had become. However, since both of his hands were bound in front of him, a mistake on Superman's part, all that did was just make it easier for him to fire another atomic blast in Superman's face. The blast sent the Kryptonian straight up into the ceiling before he crashed back down into the floor, then the captain broke free of his makeshift restraints and resumed his assault upon his would-be former comrades. But that would prove to be difficult, considering that it was now three against one, and the wayward captain was now having a real hard time keeping up with each of his opponents, who were not showing any signs of letting up anytime soon. Sure enough, the wallcrawler fired some webbing in the captain's face, blinding him temporarily, which gave both Superman and Cyborg a chance to knock Captain Atom into a completely different wall, dazing him for a few seconds before Superman came and stood over him. "You've fought a good fight," he told the captain solemnly, "Now stay down, before it gets any worse."
"I can't do that, Superman," Atom answered defiantly before rising slowly to his feet. "As an officer of the United States Air Force, I can't allow either of you to get away all of this!" With that last part said, Captain Atom lunged and swung both of his energy-induced fists at the Kryptonian, who dodged every time the captain tried to hit him. At one point, Cyborg joined right in and blasted the captain right into another wall where Spider-Man tried to pin him down with his webbing, but that didn't do any good as the captain managed to break free and fired another atomic blast straight at Cyborg who barely managed to block the attack with an electrically-induced force field. Seeing this transpire before his eyes was certainly enough to make Superman loose his cool and lunge forward at full throttle, and before Captain Atom could realize what was happening, the Man of Steel went and socked him right on the jaw, sending him flying down the same hall where the fight started and right into the wall, then the captain slumped to the floor out cold and lost all consciousness. The three heroes were relieved to see that the fight was finally over, but the mood changed much quicker than they ever could imagine when four more security guards stepped out into the hall and pointed their guns at the Justice Leaguers, followed by a medic who dressed in a purple Cadmus uniform. Spider-Man, Superman, and Cyborg exchanged glances with each other, all three of them realized that if they just allowed these people to take care Captain Atom, then it was most certainly guaranteed that the same thing would definitely end up repeating itself all over again. So in the end, they all knew exactly what to do.
"Don't touch him!" Superman called out to the Cadmus medic who was just about to do medical treatment on the injured captain, the security guards were about to open fire upon the Kryptonian when all of a sudden, four strands of webbing just yanked the guns out of their hands and pulled them over to the hands of no one other than Spider-Man himself, who then proceeded to web the weapons to the ceiling. Cyborg then pointed his blaster at the Cadmus goons, making it a clear warning that they shouldn't mess with anyone from the Justice League.
"That's right, suckers. Step away from the captain right now," Cyborg ordered in a firm voice, keeping his blaster trained on the security goons.
"Yeah, and don't forget, he's one of us from the Justice League," Spidey reminded the Cadmus fools before he and Superman picked the unconscious captain and carried him out of the facility with Cyborg not too far behind. Sure enough, they were finally out of Project Cadmus and on their way back to the Watchtower.
"Don't worry, Cap, we'll get back to the Tower and the physicians can examine you," Spidey promised his atomic-powered comrade.
Two hours later
When the three heroes had finally returned to the Watchtower, the Question had already been prepped for medical treatment and now the physicians managed to take the injured Captain Atom into the infirmary and prepped him for surgery, just to see if they could repair the damage. While this was happening, Superman went into the medical room next door, just to talk with Question about why he'd gone and tried to kill Luthor. Of course, the Question's only excuse was that he was only trying to prevent an unnatural catastrophe from ever happening in the first place, especially since Luthor was deceitfully working towards making all his plans come to fruition, which was why he had started up a political campaign in order to elected as president. Then, after a while, Huntress came in and started to spend a long amount of quality time with her boyfriend, even going as far as to close the blinds just to keep prying eyes from spying on them both. Right around this time, Supergirl had finally arrived and was absolutely surprised to see that both the Question and Captain Atom were in sick bay. When she asked both her cousin and Spider-Man what had happened, they each took turns telling her of how the Question was captured and taken to Cadmus HQ, which led to Huntress turning to Superman for help, even though Spider-Man had been along for the ride. But still, nothing prepared her for when her cousin told her about what had happened to Captain Atom.
"Cadmus deliberately brainwashed him and turned him against us," Superman finally finished, Kara was left in utter, absolute disbelief at everything she just heard. But, it only got worse when Spider-Man told her something different.
"But that's not all. Professor Emil Hamilton also turned against us….well, he mainly turned against you and Clark. But for lack of a better word, he's been working with Cadmus for quite some time."
This time, Kara was really shocked beyond belief, once again, she never expected to hear any such things coming not only from the mouth of her older cousin, but also from her dearest, yet closest friend. Just as she was still pondering these things, Peter was quick to add one more thing, "But, based on the numerous pieces of information that we've got, the prof was obviously the one who…"
"Cloned me?" Kara finished in a somewhat less enthusiastic tone, at first she seemed to be pondering over how all this could possibly happen, but then she turned to level a harsh glare at both Clark and Peter. "You two already knew about this somehow, didn't you?"
"Now, Kara…I don't think that's any excuse to get angry," Clark tried to placate the situation as calmly as possible, but to no avail as Kara was already starting to get really impatient.
"Oh, I am more than angry," she told him, "I am highly upset that you didn't tell me this a lot sooner."
"Well, what did you expect either of us to do?" Peter asked her, "Go and give away the fact that not only is Professor Hamilton working with Cadmus, but also that your evil clone survived your previous encounter?" But he soon came to regret having ever said that, because as soon as the words left his mouth, a more embittered expression appeared on Kara's face, one that could surely tear a great big hole through the fabric of reality itself.
"Did you just say…" she started to ask, Superman looked at Peter and shook his head in disapproval, knowing fully well where this could lead to, especially Kara was now getting much more upset than ever. "That Galatea is still alive?!" she finished the question in an angry tone. But before either of them could answer, Kara turned and stormed out of the medical faculty in anger. As she was still leaving, Clark turned to Peter with a very disapproving glance, which made the wallcrawler feel very horrible for taking things way too far. So he quickly went and followed after Kara, hoping to patch things up before it was too late. By the time he did catch up with her, she was walking down the hallway in a very hurried pace, still fuming as she went.
"Kara," Peter called out to her, even though, she acted like she didn't hear him. But when he did finally manage to get her attention, she was still expressing her anger towards him for not having told her anything about Galatea's survival or Professor Hamilton's involvement with Project Cadmus. "Kara, can we not still talk about this?"
"Why should we?" she asked him angrily, making him flinch at the sight of her heated expression. However, if they didn't attempt to at least patch everything up, then they wouldn't be able to do so later on. But he quickly steeled his resolve and went on to placate her.
"Because…I feel that if we don't talk this over, then there won't be a better time to do," he answered as calmly as he could before going on to console her as best as he could, even going as far as to take off his mask so she could look him in the eye. "I know that it's wrong to keep secrets from someone that you care so much about, even for so long as two or three months. But still, although I was just follo-wing through with a request from your cousin not to tell you anything…I won't deny that the only reason I couldn't tell you about it was mainly because I didn't want you to go looking for trouble, and also because…well, it's also because I love you very much."
Kara could hardly believe what Peter had told her. Not once did she ever imagine that he cared so much about her, even if he had been wrong to keep something like this from her for so long. But, to hear him say such things made her heart skip a beat, and she was deeply touched by his words. Right at that moment, there was no one in sight or in hearing, and since she didn't have the exact words to say, she did exactly what her heart was telling her and moved straight in, giving him a very passionate kiss on the lips. Peter was now taken aback by this sudden action, at first, he thought about just pulling away, but he knew that would just either make her even more upset or hurt her feelings, so he plainly returned the kiss and wrapped his arms around her. It felt just like an eruption of fireworks and electricity between them, and it was most definitely affectionate of Peter to hold Kara in his arms while he was kissing her. Of course, the very first time that she ever kissed him was when he came back from a deep-space adventure, which involved having been captured and forced to participate in the Contest of Champ-ions. But this time was different, this time was all the more realistic because he had finally told her how much he felt about her, and nothing else made Kara Zor-El this happy than she ever was in her life. While she and Peter were still in the middle of kissing, they managed to deepen the kiss, making it much more genuine and passionate. After loosing themselves in their feelings for a couple of minutes, they pulled apart and looked at each other with affectionate expressions on both their faces, breathless and blushing. Then, after a while Kara leaned into Peter's arms and put her head on his shoulder, and he just held her like that. As far as both of them were concerned, this was heaven for them both, and Kara now knew that she had most definitely fallen in love with Peter Parker, the amazing, yet spectacular Spider-Man.
Unfortunately, despite how they thought that no one was watching them, little did they know how mistaken they were. As Kara was still leaning against Peter and letting him hold her in his arms, a feminine voice suddenly called out to them, "Well, isn't that sweet?" both teens quickly looked up to see who had spoke and they jumped apart in embarrassment when they saw Black Canary standing by the farthest side of the hallway, this also prompted Peter to pull his mask back on.
"Oh, don't mind me," Canary smiled at both of them before waving off both their annoyance and embarrassment, "Just bear in mind that if you two want to do this kind of thing again, then make sure you do it in a more private spot with no one else watching. Just for future references, so to speak."
Peter and Kara looked at each other and then stared back at Canary with utter surprise and bewilderment. Neither one could hardly believe that they were being given advice from someone who had been spying on them just now. But, in spite of being utterly embarrassed, they just took Black Canary's words to heart and went on their way. The teens arrived on the command center where they heard an argument taking place; Superman was adamant on taking down the people of Project Cadmus once and for all, J'onn and Green Arrow were both reasoning that Cadmus was funded and backed by the government, while Cyborg was insisting that if they were to still take down Cadmus, they'd have to reasonable and think it all through before doing anything. Kara and Peter went straight in and joined the discussion, they were just in time to Superman vent his own frustrations at not being able to do something about Cadmus at the moment.
"So you're saying that we should do nothing?!" he shouted angrily, startling both Kara and Peter who looked at each other in astonishment, neither of them had ever seen Clark this angry before. Green Arrow then stepped forward and tried to placate the older Kryptonian.
"Come on, Supes," he insisted, "All we're saying is that right now, Cadmus is currently being backed by the government. If we try anything against them by force, then it's only going to make us all look bad and I guarantee that all the little people will be so afraid, that they'll probably want nothing to do with any of us."
"Arrow stands correct on what he says," J'onn added before taking the floor, "If we retaliate with anger and hatred, then the people will eventually lose all faith and trust in us. Surely, you don't wish for your legacy to be tainted with the likes of malice, contempt and violence, do you?" Superman thought about it for a while, but Kara could not believe what she was hearing; in her mind, no one was even willing to take immediate action against Project Cadmus for their misdeeds. As far as she was concerned, those kinds of people had no place in this world, which is why she then stepped forward to voice her objection.
"So what?" she demanded, getting the attention of all the men present. "Are you even forgetting what they did to me? Who knows how long these people have been operating in the shadows. Perhaps it's been only for a few years or so, but we've still got to do something about it!" she would've continued to rant on, if a hand hadn't placed itself on her shoulder. Turning to the source, she looked into the eyes of Spider-Man who merely shook his head, not wanting her to get all worked up so much. After placating Kara, he turned to the other men on the command center and drew in a deep breath to keep himself calm.
"As far as I'm concerned," he told them. "This is most definitely a very serious matter, based on what Project Cadmus has said and done. Even if they think that they're doing the right thing, it's mainly based on the fear of what could possibly happen if some of us in the Justice League were to turn bad, or just simply end up becoming the very thing that we've sworn to fight against. However, if we're all lucky, we might be able to secure some solid evidence of the crimes that were committed by Cadmus, which could expose them all for the kind of people that they really are. Maybe even expose Luthor's presidential campaign as a ruse like it really is, once and for all. What do all of you think?"
The present Leaguers all exchanged glances, and once each of them thought it all over, they realized that the wallcrawler was right in right in everything he just said, especially Kara and Superman. "Spidey's right," Cyborg put in, drawing all their attention. "If you think about it, Supes, then how you think the people will react in knowing that one of the heroes that they look up to and adore so much, had just gone and broken the law? Do you honestly believe that you could be able to show yourself in public again, knowing that you did something that was truly unlawful?"
Once again, Superman was struck into silence, he had no idea what to think of all this. As far as he could tell, the only reason that Cadmus ever existed in the first place was all because of what happened several years ago; when he had been brainwashed by Darkseid and used as a tool for invading Earth, due to the tyrant's words that he would make the Kryptonian into his pawn. After that, everyone on Earth was divided on mixed feelings on whether or not if Superman was no longer trustworthy, despite the fact that he had only been brainwashed and manipulated into leading Darkseid's armies down to Earth. However, before the discussion could go any further, they were all interrupted by the sound of something opening up. They all turned around to see a swirling portal open on the other side of the Watchtower, not far from where the Telepad was located, and out stepped three figures wearing uniforms with an emblem that resembled an "X". One was a young woman with dual-colored hair wearing a brown jacket over a green-and-yellow outfit with yellow gloves and yellow boots, another was a man with blue skin and a tail, who looked just like a blue elf or a demon and was wearing a red-and-black uniform, and the third looked just like someone that Spidey used to know in his old world, only this time, he was wearing a more recent X-Men uniform that not only was red and black, but looked absolutely similar to the kind of suits that were worn by scuba divers.
"Peter, who are these people?" Kara whispered to Peter, "Do you know them?"
"Do I know them?" he responded before turning to his fellow Leaguers, "Guys, I wasn't exactly expecting any visitors from my old world, but why don't we give them a special welcome?"
Superman exchanged glances with the other Leaguers before looking back at Spider-Man, "Alright, let's go on down and meet them. But I have to ask, is one of them an old teammate of yours?"
"Well, the last one to have entered sure is," Spidey answered, "But the other two are some old teammates of his own." With that last part said, the young web-slinging hero swung on down to greet his old friend and acquaintances from the other world. "Iceman! It's so good to see you again! And you too, Rogue and Nightcrawler!"
"Good to see you again too, Spidey!" Iceman exclaimed, grabbing ahold of his old friend in a tight hug, the other two X-Men looked on with smiles on their faces. Kara was also glad to see Peter reunited with some old friends of his, whom she had heard so much about, and was really eager to meet. As soon as the webhead was finished exchanging pleasantries with all three of the X-Men members, he turned to his newfound girlfriend and motioned for her to come over so he begin the introductions.
"Kara, this is Bobby Drake also known as Iceman," Peter began with the cyro-kinetic mutant, who was amazed over how pretty Kara looked until the web-slinger, then he moved on to the other two mutants. "Also, this is Anna Marie also known as Rogue, and Kurt Wagner known as Nightcrawler. Together, all three of them are prominent members of the X-Men."
Kara looked at her boyfriend for a moment in disbelief, then she remembered all the discussions that she and Peter would have whenever they talked about his old world, where he was originally from. "Ooooh," she turned back to the mutant visitors from Earth-616, "You mean, that mutant group that's supposed to be best known for being born with powers, instead of having the powers given to them?"
"That's right, sugah," answered the woman known as Rogue, as far as anyone could tell, she was speaking with a Southern accent, and she was trying her best to be as friendly as possible. "But not all of 'em are friendly or unique as we'd all like to believe. Sometimes, they start out as causin' problems for your whole life, and that just makes it easier for the enemy to take advantage of ya." Kara started to wonder what that meant, but then the subject ended up being changed just as soon as it had started, especially since Nightcrawler was the one who spoke next.
"It is good to have some time for catching up. But perhaps you wouldn't mind giving us all a tour of this magnificent space station, ja?" Anyone who hadn't met the blue furry mutant was equally surprised that this particular person spoke with a German accent, and of course, Spider-Man wasn't all that surprised since he had crossed paths with Nightcrawler several times before. But then again, how could he refuse the honor of showing three devoted members of the X-Men around the Watchtower?
"Alright then," he answered before starting to lead his old friends in a certain direction. "Time to begin a grand tour."
Meanwhile at LexCorp
Lex Luthor was having a busy day in his laboratory in LexCorp, nothing was more important than an android that he had just recently acquired from Cadmus. Doom was also there, but only for a different reason, he had secretly been working on a particular project that he was saving for an occasion. While both men were busily engrossed in their work, the phone suddenly rang and Luthor was annoyed at having to drop what he was doing just to answer the call. "Yes? What is it?" he asked in an aggravated tone, but then he was surprised to what the person calling him had to say. "So, the Question was just recently bailed out of Cadmus, eh? When did they do it? Alright then, I'll keep in touch." As soon as he was finished speaking, Lex hung up the phone and resumed working on the android, which was currently laying on what looked like an operation table that had been adjusted to an inclining or declining position, that only made it easier for the once recently reinstated CEO of LexCorp to work properly on the Amazo-lookalike. By this time, Dr. Doom had stopped his own work for a while, just out of curiosity since he had just heard Lex mention something about the Question being bailed out of Project Cadmus.
"What was that phone call about, Luthor?" the Latavarian dictator inquired. "Who called just now?"
"Oh, that was Miss Waller," Lex answered as he moved from working on the android to a computer where he started punching in some specific numbers. "She basically informed me that Superman and the Huntress just bailed the Question out of Cadmus, with help from Spider-Man of course, at about 1:45 this morning." He finished typing in the right numbers as he was busily hacking into a completely different system and pressed "enter".
"What are you doing now?" Doom asked with an intrigued expression that could not be seen, not as long as he was still wearing his metal mask.
"Finishing up a few touches," Lex replied before turning back to his previous work and resumed working on the android. "What Waller doesn't know is that I'll be disposing of all who work at Cadmus, and in the process, that will be the final nail in the coffin that'll finally discredit the entire Justice League. But then, while the casualties will be very severe, all the blame will eventually fall on Superman and the rest of the League's founding members."
Now Doom was truly intrigued with this rather developing concept. Before he turned back to his own work, he paused to look at the computer that Lex was sitting at just now. What he saw looked like a satellite footage of Project Cadmus' location in New Mexico, with a locked-on target mode directly above the place where Cadmus Headquarters was located. Everything in his own mind now clicked into place; Lex Luthor was indeed a very crafty, but devious man who could easily mislead others into thinking he was on their side. One minute he seemed to be working for the interests of others, but the next thing they knew, he was actually tricking them into doing his dirty work. Even with the general idea of framing the founding members of the Justice League for something they didn't do, it really was a dirty line of work. However, it was only a matter of time until all the other League members would be caught off guard, and have no idea what hit them.
Back at the Watchtower
The grand tour of the large space station had taken no less than half an hour. The wallcrawler had started with the Telepad, explaining to his mutant friends on how it worked, and they were really surprised to learn that teleportation technology actually existed in this world. Then, they moved on to the upper levels where they saw an auditorium for when all the League members would come together for a very large meeting, which reminded Bobby and Rogue of all the times that they've sat down for some of Beast's lectures back at the Xavier Institute. Afterwards, the group went to the lower levels where Spidey showed them the training room that featured simulations of any kind and exercise areas, the former reminding the young X-Men of the training sessions that they underwent in the Danger Room back home. Finally, they all headed for the cafeteria where each of them got their own tray of food. Once they had all taken their seats at the nearest table, they started talking about all the good and bad times that had occurred ever since Spidey had immigrated to Earth-38; the forming of the Prime Avengers, the start of the skirmish with Project Cadmus, the brief crisis on Oa with the Anti-Monitor and the Manhunters, Spider-Man and Cyborg getting captured along with the A-Bomb and being forced to participate in the Contest of Champions, followed up by how Ultron had tried to take over all the entirety of Earth-38 and Earth-616 before getting thwarted by Firestorm, and finally the part where all the heroes had to deal with Vandal Savage and the Anti-Justice League.
"All of that sounds very impressive," Nightcrawler complimented before taking a bite from his dish.
"Ah'll say, it sure sounds like most of the things that me and all the other X-Men had gone through back home," Rogue added in agreement.
"So, has there been anything else that you'd like to disclose?" asked Iceman, "By the looks of things, I certainly hope that we didn't arrive at a bad time, and if you ever need a hand, don't hesitate to let us know."
Peter smiled under his mask while looking at his old friends from Earth-616, now most of the time, he didn't always ask for help since he was too used to working alone, but all of that changed from the moment he and Kara had formed all of the Prime Avengers as a branch of the Justice League. Of course, when he started out, he was still just a student in high school and during that time, he just wasn't so sure about who to trust with his secret. Although, he became quite good friends with the Fantastic Four AND the X-Men, he couldn't bring himself to tell them his secret. Which was due to insecurities and the feeling of whether or not they'd still come to accept him, or how they would react upon seeing how young he really was. He was just about to make a comment on what Bobby had just said, when all of a sudden, the Watchtower's alarm system flared to life, catching everybody by surprise. Peter, Kara, and the X-Men were completely caught off guard, not once did they ever imagine that the grand tour would be cut short like this, just when they were all in the middle of doing some familial-like catching up.
"Now what could that be?" asked Nightcrawler in worry.
"I'm pretty sure that it could just about anything," Spider-Man answered as he quickly finished up his meal before he pulled down his mask and set off for the Tower's command center, Kara and the three members of the X-Men were following not far behind soon after finishing their own plates. Despite being so rudely interrupted, none of them was willing to hold it against the sudden flare of an emergency. Once they all had passed through the different halls, the group finally made to the command center where they were greeted by J'onn, Cyborg, and Superman, all of whom seemed to be very much alarmed by the whole thing of an unexpected emergency. "Hey, Supes. J'onn, Cy, what's up?" asked Spidey with the utmost curiosity.
"I'm afraid that it isn't looking so well, Spider-Man," J'onn replied before turning to one of the huge screen monitors and pulling up some detailed footage. Spidey and the others followed his gesture and when all their eyes landed on the screen, they were horrified by what they saw. There, on the monitor was an outline of the entire Watchtower and it also showed that the Binary Fusion Cannon had just been activated, which was very confusing. But, to make matters worse, it was the specific area that the Cannon was aiming at; the Project Cadmus Headquarters in New Mexico.
"Good grief, how did this happen?!" Spider-Man exclaimed in alarm. The others also shared his concern.
"I am not so certain," the Martian answered, "But it seems to be very obvious that someone has hacked into the Tower's systems, which has resulted in the Binary Fusion Cannon being activated."
"Who would do such a thing?" asked Kara in a disbelieving tone. "Is there a way to fix this and straighten it all out?"
"I think there just might," Superman told her before turning to Cyborg, "Victor, do you think you can disable the Fusion Cannon from firing and hitting its intended target?"
"I don't know, Superman," Cyborg answered before he then turned to one of the consoles, "But, perhaps I could slow down the countdown long enough for one of the others to shut it down, or direct the cannon fire its impending blast in a very different direction."
Superman, Spider-Man and the others all agreed with that logical idea, then one of the X-Men, most likely Iceman stepped forward to voice his opinion on the matter. "You've just given me an idea; I'll use my ice powers to form a really thick funnel of ice on the end of the cannon, causing the impending blast to fire at the surface of the moon or just into the far reaches of space in general. Anyway, I'm sure that you'll get the idea."
The others all exchanged glances and looked back at Iceman, they all seemed to be on the same page as each of them started to an agreeable expression on each of their faces. "That does sound like a reasonable idea, Iceman," Nightcrawler remarked before he started to show some concern for the situation, "But still, how you supposed to get out there in time?"
"Isn't it rather obvious?" asked Iceman before he finished explaining the other part of his plan in general, "First, we'll put on some spacesuits, if there's any that we could borrow. Then, once you use your teleporting abilities to get us outside, we'll get down to the cannon and I can do my thing."
"But how can you manage to misdirect the cannon's blast in another direction?" Superman inquired, he was now concerned for the young man's own safety and wellbeing, not he had any problem with the plan that was just formulated. But then again, he was not used to the idea of any teenagers in particular risking their own lives in the middle of an impeding crisis.
"It's really quite simple," Iceman answered before changing into his ice form and displaying his powers, he looked completely different from the last time that the wallcrawler had seen him. "I've managed to extend my powers to their fullest, yet I've also reached my full potential since I've rejoined the X-Men. I can even make ice much thicker than it usually is, but that's just one of my capabilities."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get on with it," Kara told them urgently, that was certainly the right motivation to convince Peter and the others to get moving. So without hesitation, Spider-Man, Iceman and Nightcrawler went to get ready for the part to put the whole plan into action, Rogue and Supergirl followed suite with the former whispering to the latter.
"If those boys think they can just leave us out of it, then they've got another thing coming," Rogue playfully commented, Kara just put a hand to her mouth before giggling even as both of them proceeded to follow after the three boys to the one room where all the personal spacesuits were being kept. Once they got there, each of them put on a spacesuit that would be just the right size for each of them. Of course, the girls went to a separate changing room while the guys simply put on their own spacesuits, and within a couple of minutes, all five of them had been completely outfitted in the Watchtower's personal spacesuits and were heading for the spot from which Kurt would teleport them into space. Soon, they had eventually arrived at a window that was facing outwards into space where they could see the earth and got into position for Kurt to commence his own part of the operation.
"Alright, iz everyone ready to go?" he asked, and as soon as they all gave an affirmative "Yes", he was now prepared to go through with it. Now don't get anything wrong, most of the time whenever Kurt's teleporting abilities would actually work is when he could only port himself and just one person at a time, but he never once had to port more than one person to do so. But that had to wait for another time, seeing as they had a job to do, and so Kurt managed to concentrate all his willpower to transport himself and four others out into space with him. At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then all of a sudden, all five of them disappeared in a puff of blue smoke with a sound that went "BAMF!", leaving behind a smell of brimstone. A few seconds later, the small group of five reappeared outside the Tower and each of them were surprisingly amazed by the fact that they were out in space. They would have be able to continue marveling at the sight of almost the entire cosmos, if not for the fact that Spider-Man had to remind them all that they still had a job to do. So Rogue and Supergirl managed to fly all three boys down the Fusion Cannon where they all formed themselves into a lifeline; Supergirl and Rogue both planted their feet against the Cannon and gripped Spider-Man, who in turn gripped Nightcrawler, who also gripped Iceman, this way became much easier for Bobby to do his stuff. And then, the Iceman mustered all his powers and proceeded to spray the coldest amount of ice onto the end of the Cannon, it started out slow at first, but then, a broad thick funnel was instantly formed over the mouth of the cannon with thick lenses that had the aim pointing away from Earth and at the surface of the moon. Once they were all ready and in position, Spidey put a hand to the side of his mask and spoke into his comm link.
"Alright, Cy. We're all ready for you. Please tell me when you're ready."
"Don't worry, I've been holding it for as long as I can," Cyborg's voice came from the other end. "Letting go in 3…2…1!"
Right at that last second, the end of the cannon began glowing with an emitting aura of powerful radiation. Then, to the amazement of the five individuals who were still on the cannon's surface, an all-powerful blast came right out of the cannon's mouth and struck against the moon's surface, leaving another crater in its wake. As soon as the danger had passed, the five young heroes could finally heave a sigh of relief before heading back inside the space station, with some help from Nightcrawler's teleportation of course. "Oh man, that was really crazy and intense!" Iceman exclaimed as he removed his helmet.
"You can say that again, Ice Cube!" Spider-Man remarked sarcastically, this brought smiles to everyone's faces and they all burst out laughing. Then they removed their spacesuits in the separate changing rooms before returning to the bridge. However, by the time they did get back, J'onn was on the phone talking to someone and it looked like the Martian was really unsettled about something, even as the five heroes got closer, this is what they heard him say:
"Alright, I understand, Mr. President, I'll be certain to explain this to the rest of the League's founding members." With that last piece said, J'onn hung up the phone and turned to both Peter and Kara who were still accompanied by their mutant friends.
"What's wrong, J'onn?" Kara asked in a concerned voice.
"I just got off the phone with the president, he said that the people at Cadmus have just filed a complaint," the Martian answered solemnly, this response put all the young heroes on edge when they heard that. If the president of the United States himself had just informed them of the people at Project Cadmus filing a complaint, then there was no way that it could be anything but bad news, if one of them could basically get the general idea.
"Filed a complaint? What kind?" Peter inquired as patiently as he possibly could.
"The kind that involves the fact that the Watchtower's Fusion Cannon had been activated, but what's worse is that it had been intentionally aimed at Project Cadmus in New Mexico."
Kara and Peter were greatly astonished by what they were just told, and so were the three X-Men, who had recently been told by the new couple about the crisis with the organization called Cadmus, that sounded really similar to other kinds of organizations back in their own world, but this was totally different. While it may have sounded like the majority of terrorist groups back on Earth-616, it also had the effect of just when things were starting to look up, that was also when it would sometimes backfire and that would lead to terrible results. But then again, it wasn't like they didn't have a clue as to what they could figure out what to do next. "So, what happens now?" asked Peter.
"I honestly don't know," J'onn answered before turning to leave the room, but before he even left, he turned his head over his shoulder at the young heroes and made sure to reassure them. "However, Superman and I will be discussing this whole trivial matter with the founding members, and yet somehow, we will find a way to solve this dilemma once and for all." With that last piece said, the Martian left the room and headed for the meeting room of the founding members, and before Superman left, he looked at both Kara and Peter with a sad expression on his face and then he too headed for the meeting room. Once both of them were gone, the two teens were left alone with their mutant guests and not entirely sure on what to do. Yet, after a few more minutes of silence, Rogue came over and placed a hand on Kara's shoulder.
"Come on now, let's find something else to do while all the grownups are busy with talking over what to do next," she suggested.
"That sounds like a very good idea," Iceman agreed, all the others chimed into the matter in unison, and before they knew it, all of them were heading for the lower levels where they could have a decent workout in the training simulations.
Back on Earth
Lex Luthor was furious. One minute he was just about to destroy the entire HQ of Project Cadmus in New Mexico by hacking into the system control of the Watch-tower's Binary Fusion Cannon, but the next thing he knew, that plan had just unexpectedly backfired. This was just not his day, and so he just couldn't believe that the attempt to blow up Project Cadmus had been sabotaged, but then again, it wasn't like it was the end of the world. Nevertheless, despite the unexpected setback, his plan to discredit the entire Justice League was starting to come into fruition, starting with how the executives at Cadmus had filed a complaint to the government and claimed that the League had tried to destroy their headquarters. Nothing could possibly get any better or worse than that, even as Luthor resumed his work on the faceless android and hoped that he would still have enough time to complete his plans to the fullest. "In spite of how the Watchtower's Fusion Cannon didn't exactly open fire on Cadmus, it still doesn't change the fact that the entire Justice League is now on its way to being discredited," Luthor mused to himself, whilst he was in the middle of installing a brain module in the head of the android.
"I don't know if you are aware of it, but they do say that when people begin talking to themselves, it would serve as the first sign of entering a world of insanity," a familiar deep voice cautioned. Lex just removed his wielding goggles and turned to see who had spoken, and he saw that was none other than Doctor Doom himself.
"Oh, hello doctor, I'm just in the middle of something here. And don't you have anything better to do, besides hanging around my lab?"
"Oh, I can assure you, I am not hanging around, I wouldn't dare dream of doing any such thing," Doom answered before turning on his heels to leave the building, but before he left the laboratory, he turned his head over his shoulder to give his would-be esteemed colleague one final piece of advice: "Just be warned; if there is ever a chance that you plan to betray the people with whom you are working with, there will be dire consequences for your actions in the near future."
As soon as he had said that, the armored ruler of Latveria went on his way and entered a chamber that he had remodeled for his own purposes, one of which was meant for instant transportation. Once he had entered, he stepped onto a pad that was very similar to the giant one in the Justice League's Watchtower, pushed in a few numbers and he instantly disappeared, only to reappear in a completely different room that was similar to the one that he was in, just a few seconds ago. Then, he exited the room and stepped out into the hallways of Cadmus Headquarters where he walked past several employees who were instantly afraid of him, due to his aura of overwhelming energy. Before long, he came to a laboratory, one that he knew in particular, and went straight in. There, he was greeted by the sight of Professor Hamilton examining something under a microscope. "Greetings, Professor. I certainly hope that I haven't come into the wrong place at the wrong time."
The professor looked up from his work and saw the armored doctor standing there, at first, he appeared to be unnerved at the sight of the Latverian ruler, but then he steeled his composure and managed to get out a response; "No, nothing like that, doctor. But I was in the middle of examining something when you came in here. So what can I do for you?"
"Oh, I have brought you something that just might be appealing for you to work on," Doom replied before removing something from under his green cloak, which was then revealed to be a steel briefcase that he placed upon the nearest table. He then opened up the case to reveal several little silver objects that looked very unfamiliar to the professor.
"What are those?" he inquired with the utmost curiosity.
"These…" Doom continued, "are a set of cybernetic implants that are meant for not only your precious Galatea, but also for Kaine, Redwing, and the rest of the perfected clones that I have brought on board. Once they have placed upon each of their foreheads, it will give them the ability to command other sets of clones that Cadmus has been looking to create." Once he had finished explaining, the armored doctor turned to leave the lab, giving Hamilton time to think about all of this. Doom then proceeded to walk down to the training area where his new team of clones were in the middle of a simulation, as soon as he had arrived, the clone team stopped with their training exercises and went over to greet their superior. Kaine just simply swung over on his own spider webs, which was no surprise, since he was basically a clone of Spider-Man; Redwing and Lionfish just walked over while Trajectory sped over to where Doom was standing and they were all joined by Darkstar, Jade Dragon and Polyphemus, the first two of which had just flown over and the latter had lumbered over to the spot with his gargantuan stomping. Once they had all gathered around, Doom then proceeded to check them all over, "It seems that each of you is making progress in your training, so you will all be given your first mission soon enough."
"What kind of mission?" asked Redwing with a voice that indicated he was being curious.
"Follow me," Doom gestured with his hands and the young clones followed him into another room that appeared to be very dark. Just then someone else also entered the room, prompting Doom and the team of clones to look around and saw that it was Amanda Waller and Galatea.
"Mr. Von Doom, perfect timing," Waller complimented before turning to switch on the lights. "I don't suppose that you've brought the other clones here for the same reason that Galatea?"
"Indeed I have," Doom answered, "I can only imagine what their reactions will be once they've seen what we've got in here."
"So can I," Waller answered as she finally switched on the lights, revealing the most astonishing sight that anyone could ever dream of seeing; there, standing in separate spots were several groups of individuals that looked like they were set up just like pawns in a chess game. What was even more astonishing was the fact that they all bore striking resemblances to five people who had long since been forgotten by the entire world.
"Wait a minute, is that..?" Kaine began to ask before someone else beat him to the punch.
"Are those the Ultimen?" asked Trajectory, seeing as she could talk just as she could run. But no one paid that any mind since she was just being curious.
"Not necessarily my dear," Doom answered, "These particular clones are actually genuine copies of the original Ultimen, but the only difference is that they have been programmed to obey every order that each of you will give them. But that all depends on how many clones will be placed on a squad that will be given to each of you."
"What does that mean?" Redwing inquired with a demanding tone.
If Doom was the least bit irritated by the clone's illegitimate question, he did not show it, since time was of the essence. "It means," he continued to explain with the utmost authority in his voice, "That soon enough, and very soon, the lot of you will be sent on a very important mission to destroy the Justice League's Watchtower."
All at once, the whole clone team was left speechless with gaping mouths and looks of disbelief on each of their faces. They could hardly believe what they had been told just now, not that anyone could possibly blame them, but they just found it so hard to believe that they were finally being given a mission of their own, just to take down the so-called Justice League.
"Now what Dr. Von Doom is trying to imply," Waller stepped in to get them all back on track, "Is that ever since the Watchtower's Fusion Cannon was found out to be aiming at Cadmus, we are going to take the initiative to strike while the iron is still hot. So that is why these Ultimen clones have been perfected."
"That sounds so cool," Galatea complimented, she had been listening as carefully as she possibly could. Once she learned what the new Ultimen had been created for, and that she and her fellow clones were finally getting their first mission, she could not help herself. "If we're being given our first mission, then I guess that means we'll finally be cutting loose."
"Something like that," Waller assured her. "But soon enough, you'll all be given the opportunity to stop the biggest threat that's ever been known to humanity; the Justice League. If they ever get out of line, that is."
Kaine, Galatea and Redwing all exchanged glances. As far as they could tell, this was their very first mission and it was going to be very exciting for each clone who was standing there. For Kaine, this was just the opportunity for him to finally get back at Spider-Man, while Galatea was secretly hoping to finally settle a score with Supergirl. But Redwing on the other hand, was looking to find Nightwing and kill him so then he'd be the only one in existence, a thought that passed through each of their heads. If anyone ever knew what they were thinking, then they'd tell them not to let personal grudges get in the way of their work. But that didn't matter anymore than what would happen later on down the line.
And that's a wrap! Never thought I'd get this done, I'm SO glad that it is. Anyways, despite how much work stuff that I've had to do each day just before coming inside, I've only had to endure as much as I can just so I can either read books, watch TV, or type on my computer. ALL of that is very good, but only as long as l don't stay up so late, I've also come to realize that if I'm a Marvel & DC crossover that involves Spider-Man joining the Justice League, then it'll be called a Spider-Man crossover, because it basically features the webslinger as the lead character. However, if you're doing a Marvel crossover that's mostly about the X-Men, then it would definitely be called an X-Men crossover. But if you do one that's all about the Fantastic Four, then it's a Fantastic Four crossover. Then again, I'm also in the midst of doing an Avengers crossover with Winx Club, one that I shall definitely devote my time to writing down, even when I'm also doing some brand new stories along the way.
Of course, there's the thing about starting new stories, they don't always get any kind of reviews on the day that they've been published. I mean, take Winx Spidey for example; the day it got published, there weren't any reviews posted right away, even after I posted the second chapter. The following year, it did get some reviews, but only the kind that reminded me that I should've been more focused on finishing up this story before starting to work on countless others. But what's done is done, although, I really wish that I should've finished up this story last year or the year before. But enough about that, let's review the order of voice talents, shall we?

TARA STRONG as Trajectory
And here's my voice cast! It's still the best I've ever done, and I shall continue to do so for as long as I like, furthermore, there's the topic of starting new stories this year at the same time as finishing up old ones; the old ones being JLU Spider-Friends Vol. 1, TOTALLY SPIDER-MAN!, and Beauty and the Man-Spider, all of which that I've been working on for four-six years; the new ones starting with Meet the Witwickys, which was just published last week, U.S. Joe, an upcoming Captain America & G.I. Joe crossover that will be started next month, and just about anything else that I can think of. Then, while I'm on the subject, there's also my current story; The Dragon's Flame and the Enigma Force, that I started three years ago, and I'm just starting to get up to speed on it. So I think it's going to be a bumpy ride, depending on how some viewers react to seeing old stories getting finished, new stories getting started, and current stories that get updated. I just don't want anyone to hate me for what I do with my own stories, or for just starting up new ones, the last part is something that I just can't seem to resist.
Now then, time for a little preview on…WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
Despite how the wallcrawler and his friends managed to avoid an eminent disaster by making the Binary Fusion Cannon fire at the surface of the moon, it changes nothing about the fact that Project Cadmus, or rather, the people who work at Cadmus have publicly filed a complaint to the government. To make matters worse, the League's founding members end up deciding to clear their names by turning themselves over to the nearest federal prison, but then an army of clones created by Cadmus arrives and starts to invade the entire Watch-tower. Kara is once again confronted by her evil clone Galatea, who seeks to get rid of her, while Spidey and Nightwing both end up facing off with their own clones. After receiving some personal data from the Dark Knight himself, Waller begins to realize that Luthor has been playing her for a miserable fool. Will the founding Leaguers be able to clear their names? Will the three visiting X-Men members be able to help out once more? And will all the heroes succeed in stopping both Doom and Luthor? To find out, stay tuned for when the next chapter comes out, as the adventure continues in…Chapter 22: Catalysis Part 2!
Well, as Porky Pig used to say "Th-th-tha-tha-that's all folks!", please read and leave some reviews down below, whenever you feel like it. So until next time, take care and stay safe out there.
