Story 3: Spider-Man/Black Panther: When the Klaws Strike Part 1
Takes place after TASM S1 Episode 4 and the previous story
New York, One Evening
Spider-Man sits perched on a rooftop, looking out at the city radiating the rays of the setting sun as he crouches there in deep thought.
Spider-Man: Hi. How are you doing today? I hope it's better than me because I had a weird week. HOW weird you may be wondering. Well it was weird enough that even guys like the Chameleon, Scorpion, or that weird guy with the spots all over his body weren't the weirdest part of the week… well the Spot guy was weird, but still. No, School is weird. My routine by being bullied by Flash is unfortunately normal. Though, luckily, Thursday was the best freedom I got cause he wasn't there. Look, I know I'm Spider-Man. I could have had a better week. But me exhibiting my powers and being cool? It isn't my life. Not even close. I have to keep my double life a secret. So anyways, Normal routine, but FRIDAY is when things get… interesting.
Midtown High, Early Friday Afternoon
Peter and Mary Jane are having a usual study session before she turns around towards Peter before asking him something.
Peter: wait… what?
Mary Jane: I was thinking we can make this a study threesome with Harry.
Peter: Look MJ, it's sweet, but I am already juggling being a tutor for you and Harry at the same time as is. I just don't know and-
Mary Jane: Pete, he's your best friend.
Peter; I know, but I-
Mary Jane: I think the three of us can do great together, especially since we can BOTH help him stay on his dad's good side. What do you think?
Peter: Possible answers here: 1. I don't know. 2. Are you trying to stress me out and also one thing, are you and Harry dating or just really close friends or please stop me…? 3. I rather stick with the usual arrangement. 4. I DON'T FREAKING KNOW!
Peter rubs the back of his head as he sits back.
Peter: Can I think on this?
Mary Jane: You rock.
Peter: Ugh, I suck.
Rooftop, Present Time
Spider-Man: I do wish to help Harry since he's, you know, my best friend. But, I just don't know.
Spider-Man looks around the area and even the street as he has found nothing villainous or sketchy to stop.
Spider-Man: Damn, of course there's nothing to punch tonight. Great. Time to just go home and end the week on a boring no-
Spider-Man's Spider-Sense suddenly goes off as he looks towards the east of his current location.
Spider-Man: Ooooor not…?
Spider-Man jumps off the room as he shoots a webline and swings in that direction. Spider-Man sees a suspicious looking truck park at a warehouse as he lets go of the webline and lands on the edge of the roof as he peeks over the edge in a crouched position.
Spider-Man: Hmm, what are these losers up to? This isn't a Amazon warehouse or distribution center and it's also extremely late.
When the oddly dressed men head inside, Spider-Man starts crawling down the wall towards the front door.
Spider-Man: Guess it's time to see if- What the heck?
When he peeked through the door, he saw the entire warehouse empty and that everyone there was gone.
Spider-Man: Ok… is it just me or did everyone just vanish?
Spider-Man lands on the ground and walks in to investigate. His Spider-Sense starts to tingle as looks into the direction of a pile of boxes. He walks over and, using his Spider-Strength, pushes the pile as it reveals a metal trap door underneath.
Spider-Man: A trapdoor? Sweet. I mean, sure, it could be hell down there, but hey, it's a trapdoor.
Spider-Man lifts the trapdoor open and starts heading down, unaware of an agile figure starting to follow him. Spider-Man lands down in a hollowed or underground tunnel and walks forward until he reaches scaffolding. When he peeks over the railing, his eyes widen as he sees a lot more men on the level below him.
Spider-Man: This is in the moment of my somewhat amateur superhero career that I wish I had a team or backup because down there are a lot of faces to beat up. Better get moving then. This crime won't stop itself.
Just when Spider-Man hops onto the railing, he hears a voice with an accent whisper behind him.
?: Stop right there.
Spider-Man's eyes widened as he almost slipped.
Spider-Man: What the? Why didn't my Spider-Sense go off? Who…?
Spider-Man turns around as he sees an adult male in a black and yellow lightly armored high tech suit with a feline theme standing there with arms crossed and glowing yellow eyes.
Spider-Man: Oh… that explains it.
