Disclaimer: I don't own The Fairly Oddparents. Sucks to be me!
A/N I'm back! Man, school has been killing me. 4 classes this semester in college and man, it is brutal. Sorry for the late update. I expect it will be awhile before I can update again. But thanks for your reviews, hits, favorites, and alerts for the last chapter. I do appreciate it. As always, if it pleases you, feel free to review. Oh, and PS, I didn't know how to end this chapter, so I'm sorry if my cliffhanger sucks. I do have big plans for the next chapter and the story as a whole, so don't give up on this. I know I'm not.
Chapter 4: Hell have no fury like a woman scorned…but what about two?
Timmy is walking through a forest, that looks like it came straight from a horror movie. Half the trees are dead, with withering branches, and crumpled, falling leaves, and the other half have faces on them that look like an angry clown gone insane. Timmy, scared and alone, follows a voice that keeps calling out "Timmy". After walking for a few minutes, he sees a cotton-tailed rabbit in the distance. Moving slowly closer to the rabbit, Timmy is alarmed to notice that the rabbit, which seemed normal from a distance, has two heads. Worse, the rabbit, noticing his presence, turns around and makes Timmy scream. One of the rabbit's heads look like Tootie, the other looks like Trixie. Both faces have glowing red eyes. Both rabbit heads say, "Timmy, be with me. Or I'll kill you!" Timmy screams as he falls backwards, the rabbit jumping on top of him and attempting to attack him.
Timmy screams as he jolts up in his bed. Timmy notices that he is covered in sweat and that Sparky is on top of him, a look of immense concern plastered on his face. Noticing Timmy sitting in his bed wide awake, Sparky jumps to the floor as Timmy wipes the sweat off of his brow, panting heavily, trying to figure out where he is at. Realizing that he is in his room, Timmy calms himself down before looking at Sparky, and then his clock. When he does look at his clock, Timmy's eyes grow wide.
"Holy shit, it's already 10:30 am. How the hell did that happen?"
Sparky looks at his owner and says, "You were having one intense nightmare. When you came up here to take a nap, you fell asleep almost instantaneously. That was around 6 pm. I decided to take a nap too. When I woke up around midnight, I was gonna try to wake you up to finish your homework, but decided to let you sleep. About an hour later, you started to mumble something about school, homework, and Mr. Crocker. Interested in what you could be dreaming about, I stayed awake by your side. You kept having dreams about him, probably remembering your past history with him. Then around 4 am you started dreaming about Tootie. You must have been having a nice dream if the smile on your face was any indication. Then around 6 am you started dreaming about Trixie and the smile on your face vanished. I knew you had to get up for school, so I tried waking you up, but you were just knocked out. Then at around 7:30 am you started twitching and yelling in your sleep, so I tried to wake you up again, but the more I tried, the worse your dreams got. So I jumped on you when you started screaming in your sleep, which leads up to now. You must have been having a hell of a nightmare for you to scream like that."
Recalling his last dream, Timmy's body shakes out of fear. Trying not to think about it, he says to Sparky, "That last dream was more nightmarish than any dream I've had in a while. I'll tell you about it later. For now, I'm gonna take a shower. Because no matter how late to school I am, there is no way I'm going in there looking like this. In the meantime, can you unlock the door to my parents' room? My dad said there was 40 bucks in his dresser and I'm gonna need it for lunch. I assume that my parents aren't home yet."
Sparky nods in the affirmative.
"Yeah, so I'm gonna need that room unlocked."
Before he can move or talk further, Timmy hears the sound of thunder behind him. Without even turning around, Timmy asks Sparky, "It's raining outside, isn't it?"
Once again, Sparky nods in the affirmative. In exasperation, Timmy collapses back onto his bed.
Great, I had the day from hell yesterday, a shitty night's sleep, and now I'm gonna be late to school, while having to get there in a thunderstorm. How can my life get any worse?
Timmy rubs his temples, but to his surprise, his head no longer hurts.
At least that's one good thing. My headache is gone. I guess sleeping for 16 and ½ hours will do that for ya.
Quickly remembering what time it really is, Timmy quickly races out of his room to the bathroom to take a quick shower while Sparky fulfills Timmy's request to unlock his parents' room. Growing curious as to why his parents' room is locked in the first place, especially when his dad said to go in there for the money, Sparky opens the door and is surprised at what he sees. He sees a mountain of boxes and several things of gift wrap. Realizing that Timmy will be out of the shower soon, Sparky decides to just grab the money for Timmy, especially since Timmy is already almost 4 hours late for school and that he has to walk in a thunderstorm to get there. Sparky grabs the money, poofs up a plastic bag to put it in (realizing that the money could get destroyed if it got wet) and quickly exits to room, closing and locking the door just as Timmy opens the bathroom door, with only a towel on.
Barking to get Timmy's attention, Sparky says, "I know you're a little rushed for time, so I decided to just get the money for you. I put it in a bag to prevent it from getting destroyed in the rain."
"Thanks Sparky just put it on my bed while I get dressed."
Nodding his head, Timmy and Sparky head into Timmy's room, and while Timmy gets dressed, Sparky puts the money on Timmy's bed, thinking about what he saw in Timmy's parent's room and debating whether or not he should tell Timmy about it.
On the one hand, Timmy is their child and he deserves to know what is going on. On the other hand, Timmy already has so much on his plate at the moment that this might just send him over the edge. Besides, his relationship with his parents, as far as I know, has always been strained, so this might just break the whole family. Still, his dad instructed him to go in there, so maybe by sending him in there, his dad would know that his son would see it and question it. Then again, Timmy really isn't all that observant, and his dad isn't all that smart to think things through like that. I know! I'll give Timmy's parents a week to talk to him about whatever is going on. If they don't, I will.
"Sparky, hello, is anybody in there?"
Sparky jumps when he realizes that Timmy has been trying to talk to him, apparently for awhile if Timmy's tone and look on his face said anything about it.
"Sorry Timmy, I was deep in thought."
"Yeah, I can tell. What's got you thinking so much? And man you were jumpy. Everything alright?"
Sparky shakes his head, to clear it of any remaining thoughts and says, "Yeah, I'm fine. Did you need something?"
Timmy shakes his head, then thinks for a minute, before saying, "Well, I was just gonna tell you that I was leaving for school and I was gonna thank you for getting the money for me, which I made sure to put in my wallet, but now that I think about it, can I have an umbrella? It looks like it's really coming down outside."
Listlessly, which is something Timmy has never seen his dog show before, Sparky poofs up an umbrella, which gently floats into Timmy's hands. Concerned for his dog, Timmy was going to ask what is wrong again before looking at the clock and realizing that he really doesn't have the time to talk with Sparky right now. Instead, he says a simple goodbye to Sparky and shoots out the door. A minute later, Sparky regains his senses and says, "Goodbye Timmy." However, by the time he says it, Timmy is already out the door.
Timmy stands on the porch of his house, looking out at the raging thunderstorm. Timmy contemplates whether he should go out into that storm or just stay home.
One the one hand, I already missed 4 classes, and it would be easy to just stay home. Especially since I really don't feel like going out into that storm. Besides, I know that I'll probably get yelled at by Tootie again and probably by Trixie as well. On the other hand, I might be in some serious trouble with the school if I skip. Especially if they call mom or dad. And besides, I might already be in trouble for hitting Tootie with the volleyball, as accidental as it was, and I don't really want to get into more trouble by skipping. And even if I wasn't in possible trouble already, I really can't afford to get behind in my classes.
After thinking that Timmy gulps as a dark realization comes over him.
I really got to go don't I? And even if this storm doesn't kill me, which I'm really hoping it doesn't, Tootie and Trixie probably will. And if I don't go, mom and dad might kill me.
"Shit!"
As Timmy shouts his uproarious scream, lightning flashes across the sky. Opening his umbrella and cursing the day that has just begun, Timmy takes his first step towards his school. As he is walking, Timmy can't help but notice that, ironically enough, that the worse his mood gets, the more powerful the storm gets.
Irony is a cruel mistress, isn't it?
About halfway to the school, the wind picks up, and as much as Timmy tries to resist, the umbrella that Timmy is holding onto for dear life, gets knocked from his hands and flies into the air, too high for Timmy to reach. This leaves the rain free to target Timmy directly. Immediately, Timmy becomes drenched. To make matters worse, as Timmy is shivering and walking towards his school, a car drifts a little too close to the curb, almost hitting Timmy and leaving him caked in mud, thanks to the car driving into a puddle. Lightning fills the sky as Timmy lets out a glass-breaking scream, throwing his hands into the air. Once his anger is through showing itself, Timmy makes a dash towards his school. Arriving 10 minutes later, Timmy is soaked to the bone, although luckily for him the mud has been washed off of him, and shivering. Timmy walks into the front office to explain why he is late when he notices his principal, Mr. Brown enter into his office, followed by Tootie. Mr. Brown notices Timmy and says, "Mr. Turner, go change into your gym clothes and join me and Tootie in my office. We have some things we need to discuss."
Timmy, scared out of his mind, simply nods as Mr. Brown enters into his office. Regaining his senses somewhat, Timmy notices the secretary giving him a glance over before giving him a pass. Taking the pass numbly, Timmy exits the office before going over to the gym. Giving his pass to Mr. Shot, who is teaching his class the game of basketball, Timmy receives the go ahead and enters the changing room, with the advice that he should take a quick shower to clean up and warm up. Following Mr. Shot's advice, Timmy enters the changing room, takes a 5 minute shower, and gets dressed, leaving his wet clothes in his locker. He exits the changing room, gives Mr. Shot a half smile, which Mr. Shot nods too, and walks back into the hallway. Timmy's feet feel like lead boots as he goes back into the main office. Being advised that Mr. Brown is expecting him, Timmy heads to Mr. Brown's office, knocks on the door, and with a small "come in", enters the office, shutting the door behind him.
"Ah, Mr. Turner, glad to see you managed to fix yourself up and get warm. Did Mr. Shot tell you to take a shower?"
Raising an eyebrow, slightly confused, Timmy replies, "Yes he did. How did you know that?"
"I had my secretary call him and tell him to tell you that. Glad he followed through. Have a seat; we have a lot to discuss."
Timmy takes a seat across from Mr. Brown, and next to Tootie, who, while giving him a glare, has some other look on her face too. Was it regret? Sadness? Guilt? Timmy couldn't identify it, but whatever it is, he was certain it is there.
"Okay, let's cut to the chase…" begins Mr. Brown.
The teens focus their attention on the big man in front of them, as opposed to each other, like they have been doing ever since Timmy entered the room.
"…I was informed yesterday that you two were involved in an altercation. Is that correct?"
Both teens look down, as neither one of them has the courage to look at the man in front of them yet, but they nod their heads, answering the man's question.
"Okay, so very slowly, one at a time, explain what happened. Tootie, we will start with you. Please tell us your side of the story. What happened between you and Timmy?"
Tootie sighs and thinks for a moment.
What should I do? I know I'm the guilty one in all of this. What should I tell Mr. Brown? How much should I tell him?
Seeing Tootie look slightly confused, Mr. Brown decides to clarify what he is asking about.
"Before you begin, I should say that I heard about the arguments between you two in your science and algebra classes. I should give you both detention for arguing and disrupting class, but I'm not. We have more important things to settle. What I want to know is about what happened in your gym class. I heard there was violence from both of you and I want to know exactly what happened."
Both Tootie and Timmy look at each other before looking at Mr. Brown. It is nice of him to alleviate any punishment for arguing in class, but he is still looking for clarity for their gym class issues and he is not the type of man to be lied to or disrespected. So Timmy and Tootie both know that they will have to be completely honest and just face the consequences, whatever they may be. Tootie, knowing that her side of the story was up first, gulps hard before speaking.
"Mr. Brown, it started off as a normal volleyball game. It was Timmy, Chester, AJ, Elmer, and Sanjay vs. Ashley, Trixie, Veronica, Molly, and me. Trixie and I had some…issues going into the game, so we were…distracted when we were playing. The ball was in play when Timmy decided to hit me in the head with the volleyball. Granted, he did check up on me to make sure I was alright but thanks to our own…issues, I didn't believe him. So when we started the game up again, I hit him with the ball as payback. I just wanted him to see how much it hurt when you got hit, not KO him."
Mr. Brown could sense that Tootie is holding back from him, especially with her slight pauses, but instead of going deeper, as he knew that she probably meant arguments when she said issues, instead turns towards Timmy and says, "Mr. Turner, how true is this statement?"
Timmy looks Mr. Brown in the eyes and says, "It's partly true. Trixie and Tootie were distracted when we were playing, and yes I did hit Tootie with the ball. But I swear on my great-grandmothers grave that I did not hit her on purpose. I wasn't even looking at her when I hit the ball; I was just focusing on hitting the ball in the first place. Once I realized that I hit her, I immediately rushed over to her to make sure that she was alright. I even gave her a once over to make sure that she was alright before we started playing again, even after she got angry with me. And when we did start playing again, she never took her eyes off of me when she leveled me with the ball. No matter what her intentions were, I still got KO'ed. And I had a headache all day yesterday and I even blacked out once at home. If anyone should be in trouble it's her not me."
Mr. Brown looks between Timmy and Tootie for a moment before asking Tootie "Is that true Tootie? Did your eyes never leave his when you hit the ball?"
Tootie, whose checks went a little red at Timmy saying that he gave her a once over, gulps and nods her head, still refusing to make eye contact with the principal.
"In that case, Tootie, please leave the room. Mr. Turner and I need to discuss what an appropriate punishment will be for you. Stay in the office though."
Tootie nods her head and walks towards the door, opening it. Before walking out of the room, Tootie looks at Timmy one last time, and this time Timmy can clearly see regret in her eyes as well as unshed tears. Tootie closes the door, and once she does, she slowly lets her tears fall.
This is it. I've been resigned to my fate. My fate is now in Timmy's hands. And knowing him, he'll probably want me expelled. This will be the last time I'll probably ever get to see my love. And I won't even be able to apologize to him.
Tootie goes and sits down in a separate room, far from the eyesight of Timmy and the principal. Once she sits down, she fully lets her tears flow, overwhelmed by sadness and regret.
Inside the principal's office, Mr. Brown's gaze turns to Timmy as Timmy looks back towards the man.
"Well, Mr. Turner, since your side of the story was confirmed, and since I believe your volleyball "attack" was a complete accident, I am giving you full pardon. I was going to give you detention, but since I heard that the detention you received yesterday was based on circumstances beyond your control, I will let you go. But do try to be more careful in gym class. We have gym to teach you how to grow up strong, not to cause injury. Understand?"
Timmy nods his head yes, thankful for the gift.
"Now, about Tootie. Since you are the one that got hurt, what do you think her punishment should be? I will take your words into consideration when I talk to her."
Timmy sighs and thinks for a moment.
This could be my one chance to get rid of her. She's a pest, and if I say that she's a danger to everyone, she could be expelled. Mr. Brown said that he heard of our arguments. If he heard details about it, then he already knows about the illegal stuff that Tootie has done. This could be the thing to push her out of the school. Still, the words of Vicky ring into my mind too. Tootie isn't so bad and she probably just wants a friend. I did think yesterday that I could use someone to fill a void in my life, so Tootie and I could fill that role for each other. Plus, I really do want to apology to her and get her to forgive me. I can't exactly do that if she's gone from the school, because I do get her expelled, then I'll never be able to talk to her at her house. Plus, Vicky might kill me if I do get her expelled. As understanding as she's been so far, this would definitely push someone back to their old ways. And even if she didn't, I would be hated even more by the entire school. I can't exactly be hated by everyone, can I? Oh, what the hell should I do?
Wrestling with his decision for a few minutes, Timmy finally says, "I can't do it."
Mr. Brown stares at his student, confused.
"Pardon me, my boy, but you can't do what?"
Timmy shakes his head and says, "I can't have her expelled."
Seeing Mr. Brown even more confused, Timmy says, "I know this seems crazy, but I can't have her expelled for this. I have made plenty of mistakes, especially with her, and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I couldn't apologize to her. Plus, I don't know if I could live my life without her. She's always been there for me, like a constant in my crazy, ever-changing life, and I can't just have her removed. Therefore, Mr. Brown, I am asking for a pardon for her."
Mr. Brown looks at his student, stunned. After everything he has heard about Timmy, and Tootie, he never would have thought that he would hear something like this. Nonetheless, he is the man in charge and he has a job to do. So after recollecting himself, he says to Timmy, "I'm afraid I can't allow that. A student was hurt on school property, and there has to be repercussions."
The look on Timmy's face almost broke the man's heart. Timmy has a mixture of pure shock and pure disappointment on his face. However, Mr. Brown's next words would change that expression instantaneously.
"However, I can see how much you care about her, and I can see that maybe you're starting to fall in love with her, so I will give her a very light sentence."
Timmy's face brightens up instantly, but he still has a confused expression of his face. Then realizing what the man in front of him just said, Timmy's jaw drops again.
Barely finding his voice, Timmy says, "Thank you sir, for taking my words into consideration. But why are you giving her such a light sentence? And why do you think I'm falling in love with her?"
Smiling at the boy's innocence and ignorance, Mr. Brown explains.
"I am giving such a light sentence because there are things even more important than classrooms and the four core subjects. You were talking about Tootie with such conviction and passions that I would be a monster if I let someone that important to you slip out of reach. It is impossible to teach you about love here, but once you feel it, nothing should stop you from having it. As for why I say you're falling in love with her? It's very simple. You don't fight for someone unless you love them, especially the ones that hurt you. You will learn this with age and experience, but love can hurt you. It is a powerful emotion that can cause you either the greatest pain, or the greatest happiness. You fighting for her, even with your past history, proves to me that you're falling in love with her. You're not in love yet, but you're getting there. Your friends realize it, and I think deep down you realize it too. You just have to stop fighting it. Forget about what you think you want, and go for what you actually want. Follow your heart and you won't go wrong."
Timmy is stunned. How can he just follow his heart? What does that even mean? He thought he was following his heart. Could he have been wrong?
Not knowing what else to say, Timmy simply says, "I will try following my heart. Thank you for the advice."
Mr. Brown nods and says, "Any time kid. Now, lunch should be starting soon, and judging from your appearance this morning, I'm gonna guess that you didn't eat breakfast. So I'm gonna allow you to go to lunch a few minutes early. And remember, be careful in gym and follow your heart."
Timmy nods as Mr. Brown writes up a pass for Timmy. Timmy takes the pass, thanks Mr. Brown one last time, and leaves both Mr. Brown's office and the main office, down to the cafeteria. He thinks he hears crying when leaving the office, but he can't be sure. Before entering the cafeteria, Timmy's stomach starts to hurt. Realizing that he hasn't gone to the bathroom yet today, Timmy goes into the restroom to relieve himself. While in the restroom, Timmy hears the bell ring.
So much for going into lunch early. Oh, this should be fun. Hounded like a dog by my friends and hunted down like an animal by Trixie and possibly Tootie. *Sigh* At least this day can't be any worse than yesterday. After all, I just got past dealing with Mr. Brown. How hard can anything else be?
Finally done relieving himself, Timmy washes his hands, and heads to the cafeteria. Noticing the hallways empty, Timmy asks himself, "How long was I in the restroom for? Geez, it seems like the bell just rang."
Entering into the cafeteria, Timmy is immediately spotted by his friends. As such, they all bum rush over to him.
"Holy Shit, he's alive" says AJ.
"Dude, we all thought you were dead, especially when you didn't show up this morning" says Chester.
"How the hell did you survive Tootie?" asks Elmer.
"Forget that, how the hell did you survive Vicky?" asks Sanjay.
Overwhelmed by all the questions, and feeling extremely hungry, and thus volatile, Timmy puts up his hands and says, "Stop!"
Seeing his friends stop, Timmy says, "Okay, one question at a time. And can I get something to eat first? I woke up extremely late and didn't eat breakfast this morning."
AJ points to the cafeteria lunch line, and more specifically, what they are serving.
"Unless you want fish tacos for lunch, you might want to just have my lunch. It leftover tuna casserole, but it's still better than fish tacos."
Timmy's stomach lets out a loud growl, so Timmy quickly says to AJ, "You got yourself a deal."
Following his friends to their usual table, Timmy silently laughs to himself. The last time he heard of someone eating fish tacos, he and Jimmy Neutron had just defeated Calamitous and stopped him from taking over the world. He remembers Jorgen saying that Calamitous' breath had smelled like fish tacos the whole time.
What torture that had to be!
Sitting down at the usual table, AJ hands Timmy the tuna casserole, which Timmy starts devouring. Timmy's friends look sick at watching such a display, but Timmy is in no mood to care. Within a minute, the entire casserole is gone. Timmy pats his stomach with a loud burp.
"Man was that good. Who made it? You or your mom?"
Taking a few seconds to compose himself, AJ says, "My mom made that one."
"She can really cook. Tell her that. And tell her thank you."
AJ nods his head.
"Okay, I will, but now that you're done eating like a pig, can you tell us what happened to you? We all thought that you were dead or at least in a hospital somewhere."
Glaring at AJ for the "eating like a pig" comment, Timmy takes a deep breath and begins.
"Well, nothing happened in detention. So I went home, talked with my dog, and then had a run in with Vicky…"
Timmy's friends are giving him a weird look when he says that he was talking with his dog, but Timmy ignores it. Timmy cannot ignore, however, the loud shrieks of "and you lived!" from his friends, which all but forced Timmy to stop talking and to jump.
After calming himself down for the second time today, Timmy takes another deep breath before saying, "Yes, guys, I lived, obviously. Can I finish now?"
Timmy's friends nod their heads, giving Timmy their full attention.
"Okay, as I was saying, I had a run in with Vicky. I was about to take a nap when she yelled at me to let her in my house. Scared out of my mind, I attempted to climb to my roof, but, uh, I might have slipped."
Timmy's friends' eyes grow wide.
"You…You slipped. Timmy, from your room, if you slipped…"
"I know, I would have died. Unbelievably, it was Vicky who saved me. She tried to find a ladder or something for me to land on. When she didn't find anything, she caught me. I didn't know what to think, so I rushed into my house and barricaded myself in. Unfortunately, my dog, being as smart as he is, somehow unbarracaded the door and let her in. I was freaking out, so I ran as fast as I could to my room. However, I had barricaded that before trying to climb to my roof, so after trying to get into my parents room, I had no choice to go back downstairs and after realizing my dog was blocking the back entrance, I had to come face to face with Vicky. All that really happened was she ordered pizza for us and we had a very deep conversation about Tootie."
"Is that so? Interesting."
Timmy's eyes grow wide, and he feels the same numbness that he felt when he thought Vicky was going to attack him. Timmy slowly looks around and sees the entire lunch room looking his way, right behind him to be precise, with their jaws dropped and their own eyes wide. Timmy then looks at his friends, who all look like they seen a ghost. Gulping hard, Timmy's eyes slowly look up, only to see the stern face of Tootie looking right at him.
"Hello Timmy"
The tone of Tootie's voice makes Timmy shiver, out of nervousness and out of something else that Timmy is to dumbstruck to identify.
"Uh, hi Tootie. How long have you been standing there?"
Huffing, Tootie says, "Long enough."
Tootie then looks over at AJ, Chester, Sanjay, and Elmer and says, "Beat it, boys. Timmy and I need to talk."
The look in Tootie's eyes told the four that she means business. As such, without so much as a word, the boys gather up their stuff and jog briskly over to another table. Tootie then walks around the table and takes a seat right across from Timmy. Timmy's eyes never leave hers for a minute. Timmy himself is about to get up and leave before Tootie slams her hands down on the table and says, "Sit Down!"
Timmy immediately sits back down, too nervous and scared to do anything else.
"Timmy Turner…"
Timmy is shaking in his shoes, scared as all hell thinking about what Tootie could do with him. However, even he hadn't been expecting what happens next. Without another word, Tootie leans over and kisses Timmy right on the lips. Timmy is in complete awe, too shocked about what is going on to do anything. The kiss last for only a few moments before Tootie pulls away.
"…Thank You."
If the cafeteria isn't already in shock, they certainly are now. No one, however, is more shocked than Timmy himself, who can only blink repeatedly. Tootie smiles as Timmy tries desperately to find some semblance of brainpower. When a few minutes pass, however, and Timmy has yet to come to, Tootie starts snapping her fingers in front of his face, calling his name. When that doesn't work, Tootie slams her hands down on the table again and says, "Timmy, for god's sake, snap out of it!"
The loud noise, along with the voice of the slightly angry lady in front of him, is just enough to snap Timmy out of his daze. Shaking his head so rapidly that Tootie is having trouble keeping up; Timmy shakes any numbness out of his head, and looks at the teen in front of him. Shyly, which is a first for him, Timmy asks, "Uh, what…what was that for?"
Tootie shakes her head and says, "It's about time you snapped out of whatever trance you were in. I am thanking you for not expelling me. I thought for sure you'd want me gone. I didn't expect when I walked back into Mr. Brown's office to be told that you didn't want me to leave. Mr. Brown wouldn't elaborate as to why, and I wasn't about to ask. But maybe you can explain why you don't want me gone. After yesterday, and after everything we've been through, I thought that you absolutely hated me."
Timmy, really recovering his power of speech for the first time since Tootie walked into the cafeteria, says, "I don't hate you. I never did. I was frustrated and embarrassed yesterday when I said all that stuff to you. And I'm sorry."
Tootie looks at Timmy for a minute, and is about to say something, when a loud scream is heard somewhere behind Timmy. Both teens look towards the source, where they see Trixie and her popular crowd standing by the cafeteria door.
"What the hell is she still doing here?" exclaims Trixie.
Timmy gives an eye rolls at such a display, and then does a double take at his own reaction. Tootie, on the other hand, gives Trixie a smirk.
"What, didn't expect to see me here?"
Trixie marches over to the table Tootie and Timmy are sitting at, gently pushes Timmy aside, and gets right into Tootie's face. Timmy gives Trixie a "what the hell" look, but Trixie ignores him completely.
"Listen you smart ass bitch, shouldn't you be expelled by now? I just heard you got out of Mr. Brown's office. Didn't he expel you?"
Tootie's smirk grows as she says, "I didn't get expelled. I got an in-house suspension for a week, which means I'll still be in every single one of my classes. And it's all thanks to Timmy putting in a good word for me."
The look on Trixie face can only be described as priceless. The cafeteria, which is already in a state of shock, is now fully absorbed in the conversation. They realize that Timmy has somehow managed to save Tootie from being expelled, as he is always being nice to people who otherwise don't deserve it, but they didn't know how he did it. Now that they know, they are more engrossed in the conversation than ever. This is why the next thing that happened put them into a state of shock that is almost catatonic.
Trixie, who is in a state of shock herself, turns to Timmy and asks, "Why did you do that? With her gone, you could focus more of your attention on me. Why, then, didn't you get rid of her when you had the chance?"
Timmy, still angry from being pushed, and tired of Trixie's crap, says in a tone of voice that makes Trixie flinch, "I didn't, as you put it 'get rid of her when I had the chance' because I'm happier around her lately than I am around you. And to tell truth, over the years, Tootie's become pretty damn hot, even hotter than you. And she's a hell of a lot nicer than you. And, she's a constant in my life, unlike you, who won't even give me the time of day. Now we…"
Timmy points to Tootie, and then himself.
"…were having a conversation before you rudely interrupted, and I would like to continue it. Now leave."
The cafeteria lets out a collective gasps. They are stunned. First of all, it is one thing for Timmy to be nice to Tootie out of his kind nature, but to defend her in an argument? It is unheard of. Secondly, Timmy flat out rejected Trixie's advances, something that no one has seen coming, especially since he said that he loved her just yesterday. Third, Timmy not only rejected Trixie's advances, but also insulted her hotness, something no one has had the guts to do, ever. And fourth, Trixie, a popular student, actually wants to be with an unpopular. It is unheard of and forbidden by unspoken student law.
Trixie stands by the table, completely shell-shocked, while Trixie's popular friends, Tad and Chad, walk over to the table. Trixie's friend Veronica walks over to Trixie and puts her hand on her shoulder in an attempt to get her out of her stupor and to comfort her.
"Hey, Turner, who the hell do you think you are, talking to Trixie like that? After she went out of her way to actually talk to you" says Tad.
"Of which we will be talking to her about later. A popular talking to an unpopular. It's just not right" says Chad.
Veronica, who heard Chad's comment, gives him a small glare, while Timmy stands up from the table and faces the two people in the entire school he absolutely can't stand.
"Who do I think I am? I think I'm Timothy Tiberius Turner, most popular nonpopular in this school and someone who's better than you. Trixie's acting like a complete bitch lately, and from the company she keeps, it's no wonder why. You two are spoiled as all hell, and Veronica's fucking crazy most of the time. So tell me this: Who the hell do you think you are? You say you're popular, why? Because you have money? Status? Look around you. Nobody likes you, and if it weren't for the ladies you pay to be by you, you two would be nobodies. So back off, before I do what someone should have done years ago and kick your asses."
Tad, Chad, Veronica, and Trixie look around the cafeteria. What they see surprises them. Almost everyone in the cafeteria has their jaws dropped, but most people are also nodding their heads, agreeing with Timmy statement. Slowly, the students start clapping, and soon, the entire cafeteria is cheering and applauding Timmy. The popular kids even heard someone shout, "Go Timmy, it's about time someone stood up to them", to which many students agreed.
Trixie and Veronica are in shock, while Tad and Chad look ready to kill. Chad and Tad raise their fists up, with Timmy doing the same thing, but before any punches are thrown, everyone hears a huge, "What's going on here?"
Immediately the cafeteria is silent as all eyes lay on Mr. Brown, who is standing by the cafeteria doors, pissed.
"Timmy, Tootie, Chad, Tad, Veronica, and Trixie, in my office, now!"
The six look at each other, with angry glares, and expression of "you did this to me". However, when Tootie and Timmy crossed looks, they quickly look away from each other, and turn their looks to the other four, which confuses AJ, Chester, Elmer, and Sanjay immensely. These four student's watch as Timmy, Tootie, and the popular kids are led out of the cafeteria by Mr. Brown himself. Once they are gone, and the cafeteria is settled down again, the four of them sneak out of the cafeteria, hoping to help their friend anyway they can.
In the office, the six students have sat down in front of Mr. Brown's desk. Mr. Brown looks at the six students, with the most pissed off look on his face that the students have ever seen on him.
After staying holes into the six students, especially Timmy and Tootie, Mr. Brown says, "I've had enough. It bad enough that you three…"
He looks at Timmy, then Tootie, and then Trixie.
"…Had to argue all through you science class, and through almost every class yesterday, but I let you off the hook…"
He specially looks at Timmy and Tootie this time.
"…Only for an argument to occur in the cafeteria. On top of that, a fight almost broke out between you three."
Mr. Brown looks at Timmy, then Chad, and then Tad.
"So I want to know what happened, and I want to know what happened now!"
"Maybe we can help with that."
Mr. Brown looks up from his desk to find Chester, AJ, Elmer, and Sanjay standing in the doorway.
"I'm not in the mood. What are you four doing out of lunch anyways?"
"We came here to help, sir" says Sanjay.
"Yeah, we saw what happened. We can tell you the truth" says Elmer.
"Ha, unpopular kids telling the truth. Don't make me laugh" says Chad.
Mr. Brown looks at Chad and says, "That's quite enough! One more word and I'll have you suspended."
Mr. Brown looks at the four in his doorway and says, "Alright you four, come on in and sit down. And close the door behind you."
Chad and Tad groan as Chester, AJ, Elmer, and Sanjay sit down.
"Man, this office is getting cramped. Alright boys, start explaining" says Mr. Brown.
"Well, we and Timmy were sitting around talking when Tootie came into the cafeteria. She said that she wanted to talk to Timmy alone, so we moved a few tables over, still within hearing range" says Chester.
Tootie gives Chester a look, and Chester says, "Hey, we didn't know if you were gonna hurt Timmy or not, so we wanted to stay close in case we needed to get involved. Besides, it was so quiet in the cafeteria that everyone probably heard your whole conversation."
Tootie rolls her eyes, which doesn't go unnoticed, and looks away.
Chester continues with, "When Tootie and Timmy were done kissing, and while they were talking, they were interrupted by a blood curling scream by none other than Trixie. AJ, you want to take it from here?"
AJ nods his head and says, "Certainly. After Trixie's blood curling scream, she asked why Tootie wasn't expelled. When Tootie gave a smart-alack comment, Trixie marched to the table Tootie and Timmy were sitting at, pushed Timmy out of the way, and got right into Tootie's face. Tootie explained why she isn't expelled, and Trixie turned to Timmy to ask him why. Sanjay, why don't you explain what happened next?"
Sanjay nods and says, "Absolutely. Timmy said some heated words to Trixie, all of which is true."
"True my ass. Watch it four eyes" says Trixie.
"And you watch it, Miss Tang, you're on thin ice as it is" says Mr. Brown.
Turning his attention back to Sanjay, Mr. Brown says, "Please elaborate. What did Timmy say to Trixie?"
Sanjay looks at Timmy, with a look that says, "Sorry, I have to do it. I have no choice." Timmy gulps as he looks at Sanjay, then at the ground.
Sanjay says, "Well, Trixie said first, 'Why did you do that? With her gone, you could focus more of your attention on me. Why, then, didn't you get rid of her when you had the chance?' and that's when Timmy got mad and said, 'I didn't, as you put it 'get rid of her when I had the chance' because I'm happier around her lately than I am around you. And to tell truth, over the years, Tootie's become pretty damn hot, even hotter than you. And she's a hell of a lot nicer than you. And, she's a constant in my life, unlike you, who won't even give me the time of day'.
Tootie blushes immensely at being called hot, again. Trixie looks at Tootie with a look that can kill.
How the hell can Timmy think that Tootie is hotter than me? Hump, well, they're both losers, maybe that's why. If that's the case though, why do I want him interested in me? Maybe Tootie's right; maybe I do just want his attention to spite her. Oh well, she would deserve it.
Timmy for his part is blushing too, but unlike Tootie, is doing his best to hide it, but everyone sees it anyways. Before anyone can comment of his feeble attempt, Elmer continues where Sanjay left off.
"Yeah, and after Timmy said that, Chad and Tad got into Timmy's face, and that's when Timmy went off on them with a verbal rant, which if you ask anybody, was a long time coming."
"Oh yeah, well, why don't you tell Mr. Brown what your pink hat wearing friend said to us?" says Chad.
"No need, I heard it all from this point. Chester, AJ, Sanjay, and Elmer, thank you for your help, you can go. But don't let me catch you out of the cafeteria without proper reason again."
"Yes sir!" says the four students, who all but fly out the door.
Mr. Brown turns to Veronica.
"Veronica, you really didn't do anything, you can go to."
Veronica nods her head and leaves the office, closing the door behind her.
"As for you five, I am ordering you to go see the school therapist everyday at lunch until I receive word that all your issues are resolved. And if anymore arguments break out on school property, outside of therapy, or if any of you fistfight, I will expel all parties involved. Understood?"
The five look at each other, then at Mr. Brown and say, in an almost listless voice, "Yes sir".
"Now, I am suspending you all for the rest of the day, but I won't put this on your permanent record. This is my last ounce of mercy. Anymore, and you're done. Now, get out of my office, and into the main office. Your parent or legal guardian will pick you up."
Sighing collectively, the group leaves Mr. Brown's office, and enters into the main office, while Mr. Brown's secretary, after receiving the order, begins to call the teen's parents'. Trixie, Tad, and Chad remain silent, still stewing over their punishment and worrying about if their huge allowances will be cut off. Tootie, on the other hand, takes a seat next to Timmy, and engages him in a small and short conversation.
"So, you stood up for me, not once, but twice. And you stood up for the unpopular kids. You may not want to hear this, but this is one of the reasons you're my hero, and probably always will be" says Tootie.
Timmy, who is looking at the floor, looks up at Tootie. Tootie can see the guilt and exhaustion in Timmy's eyes.
Man, standing up for us, and me especially, took a lot out of him. I can only hope that he takes this suspension as time to rest. I would hate to see him any more broken.
Timmy, with a stained voice and with barely any eye contact with Tootie, asks, "So does this mean I'm forgiven?"
Tootie looks at Timmy with mild surprise.
"I forgot you asked me that earlier and I never answered. After what you did for me today, and for all of us unpopulars, I don't see how I can't forgive you. So yeah, you're forgiven."
Timmy nods and says in barely a whisper, "Thank You".
Before Tootie can respond and ask Timmy what is wrong, her parents walk into the office for the second time in two days. Without saying another word, Tootie stands up and exits the office with her parents, who are giving Timmy a glare.
Timmy closes his eyes and hopes that he can survive the week that just won't end. His dog is acting weird, his parents haven't been seen in over 24 hours, and his godfamily is on a manhunt for the most dangerous criminal mastermind of this century.
I just hope that you weren't lying Tootie. I hope I truly am forgiven. Something tells me I'm gonna need you more than I'm willing to admit.
If only Timmy knew how right he is.
