And the award goes too

It was two days after the events at the courthouse. Darien French had been stripped of his title as a judge and was currently in an asylum for criminally insane awaiting his trial. Everyone knew this because of Lucy and Stanley Kushindas terrific reporting. They'd even done an exclusive with both Sparrow Hawk and the Batclan. So everyone was overjoyed that at least the danger had passed. Thanks to the special lipstick of Rebecca's they'd manage to track down Ven and his men who'd kept their word and getting ready to stand trial for their own crimes. However, Ven had agreed to testify against Darien French. Rebecca of course would've to show up for the trial and be a witness. Still she was at least glad that she wouldn't have to deal with French anymore. At least she hoped so.

Right now everyone was getting one final check by Dr. Dorien before being released from the hospital. Rebecca was happy that her father had regained conscious. It was also nice to know everyone would make a complete recovery and that nothing too serious had happened to them. Right now they're in the hospital's community room watching the TV. Currently playing on the TV were Lucy and her husband Stanley reporting the current events.

"If you're just tuning in right now we've gotten a few updates on the states of affairs that have been recently happening in out fair city. As you can see for yourself behind me," Lucy was saying as she gestured to behind her, "our fair city is being restored too it former glory and in next to no time our grand design for perfect harmony will be achieved for a second time, as envisioned by our city's great founders the Planets."

The floating video camera was swilling around to turn to Stanley standing next to a couple. They had grass green hair, earthy brown eyes and both wore lava red suites. "Well, Mr. and Mrs. Planet how are you doing today? And what are your thoughts on rebuilding?"

"Stanley, please call us Lacey and Colin please. We don't need any formalities here. We're very thankful for Sparrow Hawk and her friends the visiting Batclan. We hope that with Sparrow Hawk and the impressive police force that our city can maintain our dream." Lucy said with a glistening smile.

"Yes, Stanley we're very indebted to all who helped bring that insane judge to justice. And we can only hope that things continue to get better from here," Colin chimed in. Both the Planets had grateful smiles on their faces.

"Well that's all for now folks. Get ready for tomorrow night's Law and Order Awards Dinner. Which we'll be covering live! So, until then our faithful viewers, as we'd say in our native Spanish "Adiós y nos vemos luego mis amigos" (Goodbye and see you later, my friends!)

"Well, that good TV if I ever say any! And it's nice to see a real person instead of a computerized anchor. So, sweetheart, you feel up to tomorrow night's dinner?" asked Sam as he clicked the remote to turn the TV off.

Rebecca was holding hands with Warren at the moment. They'd been talking about how long it would take to get him moved into her penthouse and what changes were needed. Sam looked at his wife and then at their daughter and knew she was truly in love. Rebecca kissed Warren passionately and then turned to her father.

"Daddy, I'm more then ready for the awards dinner tomorrow. And according Dr. Dorien we can all leave in about five minutes as soon as that hover bus gets here. So yes I'm ready. The question is you all ready to go?"

"We've been ready to go for over the last two hours, Rebecca. I still need to make sure our suites are cleaned probably. I brought an extra one just in case of you know accidents." Kieran informed Rebecca as he finished eating some chocolate that Max had snuck him.

"Yeah, I'm so ready to get out of here! I mean it's never fun to be in the hospital!" Dana commented nonchalantly.

"Unless you're a Munchausen's patient and have some crazy need to be in the hospital I think any normal persons hate the hospital. Only a doctor or nurse would love the hospital. So let's split already!" Danny exclaimed irritably.

The doctor came in at that moment with the final test results and said that everyone was fit to leave. They all thanked the doctors and nurses that had helped them so much. Bruce was so grateful for the help he promised to make a major donation so the hospital could get much better for their work. So everyone was happy.

The happiness continued all through the night and by morning everyone felt so good and full of energy that it was hard to wait for the ceremonial dinner. Still by seven everyone was already to go and get to the banquet hall. It was so beautiful! Crystal chandeliers, scented candles and the finest solid gold ware. So it made you think you're in a castle for a big fancy tea party.

The big family found their table which was near the front and everyone was enjoying the food immensely. Though Max's boyfriend Kieran did say he thought while the food came close, his family made better food. Everyone just smiled and let bygones be bygones.

After everyone had their fill of food a beautiful lady in a shimmer golden dress step up to the podium and began to speak. "Hello! And welcome everyone to the Eco-City's Law and Order Awards Dinner. We're so ecstatic that you all turned out. We are even taking more pleasure in the fact that because thanks to Sparrow Hawk and the visiting Batclan we would surely not be here tonight. For those who don't know me I'm Ethelgonda Good, I'm head of all of law and order within this city. And I'm proud to serve the great Planets for their dream we've all struggled to achieve. So shall we get on with it?"

The first up was the awards to the police force. Then it was the noble citizens followed by assistant to each person. Everyone was getting something. A beautiful crystal award was given to Lena for her outstanding job as the youngest Chief of Police and Kendra got a golden engraved plaque for her outstanding work as the best personal assistant to them all. Finally it came down to who would win the coveted award for most outstanding judge of the year. Rebecca thought her heart would break if she didn't win it.

"Now we've got two awards left," Ms. Good informed everyone and everyone waited with baited breath. "We've got the award for Best Judge of the Year, which will go into the Law and Order Hall of Fame. "So we like to give this special award to the best damn judge this city or anyone else in my opinion. Rebecca Young? Would you please come up here?"

Rebecca was crying happily that she knew she smudged her make up but she bolted to the stage and watched as the Kushinda's focused the camera on her and took her picture. "Thank you so much!" was all she could say.

"You deserved it Ms. Young. Now we'd like if you give the last award to a very special person," Ms. Good said as she handed Rebecca the last award and she smiled. Turning to face her family she called out, "Warren? Would you please come and accept this award for welcoming you to our fair city and outstanding job in the name of the law?"

Warren got on the stage took his award and kissed his true love. And right now everyone knew that not only did Eco-City now have two great judges but they still had an outstand secret hero. So everyone was happy and that things were looking up for once.

So with hard work, love, friendship and much needed trust everyone could look forward to the future of hope and happiness.

The End
