A/N: Naruto is owned by Masashi Kishimoto.

The story is of mediocre quality. Enjoy anyways.

Cao Nima, the chief and leader of the white Cao mercenary band felt a dreaded sense of foreboding encroaching upon him. It was too quiet. All he could hear was the sound of the burning houses and the sniffling women and children in the corner of his vision. Beads of sweat began to form on the chieftain's forehead. Not a second later a hooded figure walked out from behind one of the smoldering houses.

Nima rows an eyebrow when he saw the figure. Despite the figure wearing a cloak and hood, Cao Nima could tell that the person before him was clearly female in gender. From her attire, the woman doesn't seem to be from the settlement. In all his years as a mercenary, Cao Nima had a bad premonition regarding the woman in front of him. "Hey, you lost?" one of his men taunted. "Why don't you stay with us for the night? Its dangerous for a woman to wander alone." Another one for the bandits said. "They are clearly oblivious to the sense of dread this woman was giving off." Nima thought. Clearing his throat, the chieftain signaled his subordinates that he is going to deal with the newcomer. With a subtle hand gesture, he signaled his men to prepare for a fight. His two goons each taken a position to the right and left of their chief with their hands on their scimitars.

"Woman, what is your business here?" Nima asked with authority in his voice. The hooded figure gazed straight into the eyes of the chieftain. Two blood red pupils stared straight into the soul of the three highwaymen. Under her cloak, the woman took out a pair of similar looking scimitars stained with blood in a reverse grip. This set all three men on high alert, and they all took a fighting position.

"A feast." The woman spoke and launched at them with inhuman speed. If it weren't for his instincts honed thought countless fights, Nima wouldn't be able to react to the inhuman speed of the hooded assassin. In the last second Nima was able to block the incoming sword swing from his opponent. his subordinate to the left was not so lucky. "thud" the sound of a head hitting the ground was conformation that one of his subordinates is dead. Nima took a defensive stance facing the hooded figure. Cold sweat ran down his forehead. The hooded figure was ready to make another charge at the two remaining opponents. That is what Nima is banking on, the moment the hooded woman charges, he would parry her strike with his sword and use his free hand to punch the woman in the liver. Doesn't matter how tough she might be, a hit in the liver will 100% cause her to recoil in pain and by then Nima would have her pinned to the ground like a helpless deer.

Just when Nima was focused on his opponent. he felt a stabbing pain in his back. Turning his head to look back, the chieftain finds himself stabbed by his remaining subordinate. The man's eyes were unfocused, and saliva was drooling down the corner of his mouth. Before Cao Nima could respond to this supposed betrayal, his view changed, and he could no longer feel the pain, and everything was spinning in a blur. Then with a 'thump', the head of Cao Nima hits the ground like his subordinate before him.

Finishing the last of the bandits, I looked at the bound-up women and children who looked up at me with reverence and fear. On times like these I would like to quote a certain lazy Nara. 'Troublesome…'

Then again, since I already saved the remaining villagers, it wouldn't be much of a hassle to simply take over this settlement and make it my temporary base of operation. Not a moment later, my clones came back from hunting down the remaining bandits. I ordered two of my clones to untie the captives and escort them into the largest building in the village. As for the rest, I divided them into five-clone squads. Squad one is tasked to put out the fire and patching up the houses. Squad two is tasked with retrieving the bandit bodies, take all the valuables they carry and dispose of the rest. Squad three will clean out an area and build a graveyard to burry the deceased. This action is not done out of kindness, but necessity. If too many corpses were left to rot, then a chance of a plague could wipe out the rest of the survivors. Also, by planting miniature mobs the size of rodents, I could harvest the chakra of the dead villagers. The rest of my clones are to ensure that the fields around the village are still in functioning condition. Since from today, I am claiming this settlement as my first base of operation.

After a while of contemplation, I came to the conclusion that I needed a temporary base of operation. I originally planned to build my Base on top of that giant plateau, but since there happens to be a bandit attack on the village I could use this opportunity to claim this village for myself. Also, in the future its essential to have my own band of supporters who will work for me and act as my agents. Danzo has the root, Orochimaru has the sound village, and every Kage has an entire military force at their disposal.

If Haguromo caught wind of my existence, then he will definitely come and seal me away. I really don't want to become a dried-up husk like the Gedo-statue. Having a supporter can that depicts me in a positive light could put Haguromo in a moral dilemma for some time. Enough time for me to resolve things peacefully or run if things come to worse.

Come to think about it, I still have no name.

A/N: finally finished. Comment on plot suggestions. I'm running thin on ideas on how to continue the plot. Reviews keep this story alive and me motivated. Been working on RL and other stories the past weeks. Thanks for the reviews.

Recommended to anyone interested in overlord fanfics to check out.

Slow progress.
