Jayfeather was consuming a sparrow that he had picked out of the fresh kill pile when heard Moonspirit hissing, "Stop mooning over Lilytail Molefoot!" "What? I wasn't!" Molefoot defended. Lilytail got up and asked to join a patrol so that she wouldn't have to listen to them arguing. Moonfoot watched Lilytail longingly. "You know what Molefoot? You can have her. We are done! I can't believe I loved you!" she growled. Molefoot's eyes widened. "What? No! I love you and only you Moonspirit." He spluttered. Moonspirit rolled her eyes and stormed off toward Jayfeather. Jayfeather stood up and stopped her in her tracks. "Get out of my way Jayfeather!" Moonspirit hissed. "Listen, Moonspirit!" He commanded. She looked up, tears streaming down her face. "Molefoot isn't good for you. You are a sweet and noble warrior that deserves the world. If he can't even keep his eyes off another she-cat for you then he doesn't deserve you." He said softly. "Your right Jayfeather." She murmured. She licked his cheek and said, "Thank you." She started to trot out of camp. "Wait! Moonspirit! Can I talk to you?" Jayfeather asked and sauntered up to her. "Sure." She said. They started walking around the territory. "Do you miss Amberkit?" Jayfeather asked. Moonspirit looked up at him in sadness. "Very much. Why?" she said. "Because ever since she died you, changed." Jayfeather answered. "Changed how?" "You were always sad. You always asked where Amberkit was and when we said she would be gone for a while you would become very lonely." Jayfeather explained. Moonspirit nodded then looked at him wistfully. "I remember Amberkit and I would play a game where she was leader and I was a queen. You see she always wanted to be leader of Thunderclan. She would make me deputy but I would always refuse because I wanted to be a queen." She murmured. "Why did you want to be a queen so badly?" Jayfeather asked. "Because I liked the sound of having my own kits and seeing them grow up to be a leader or a deputy or something like that." She answered. "You were a pretty wise kit." Jayfeather remarked. She nodded. "Do you remember that day in my den when you named off all the herbs." He asked. "Yes." She said. "You told me that nobody told you the herb names and uses, was that true?" Jayfeather asked. "Sort of." She answered guiltily. "What?" Jayfeather questioned. "Well, it all started when I was just a small kit. I had a dream where a cat named Halfmoon visited me. She told me some sort of omen." She explained. "What was the omen?" Jayfeather asked. "Let's see… When all seems lost the jay's feather will stray in front of the half moon. In that moment all will connect, the truth will surface, love will be strong but when all seems well you will lose the one you love most." Halfmoon told him. Jayfeather went through the words in his head, trying to make sense of the omen. "She also said… If the jay's wing breaks you will break too so shield the wing from any harm and no harm will come to you. It is kind of a rhyme but it still doesn't make much sense." Moonspirit asked. "Did she tell you about the herbs?" Jayfeather asked. "Well the first time I met her she touched noses with me. At that moment memories flooded into my brain. Like there was this lovely cat that looked similar to you. He was in almost every memory that entered my mind. I also received incredible knowledge of herbs. In fact I know about herbs that you don't even have! But I won't go into that." Moonspirit stated. "Don't you find it strange, what Halfmoon did?" Jayfeather said. "Yes. I don't know how she did it. The really strange part about it was that I felt like I knew her. We had some sort of connection or bond. I feel like I have known her my whole-" Moonspirit started to say. "Your whole life." Jayfeather interrupted. "How did you know?" Moonspirit. "Because I have known her for almost my whole life." Jayfeather answered.
