Hello again! Sorry about the long wait, I guess that means 10 points from Gryffindor because it's almost a year. :$ Hopefully things will pick up a bit now we've seen the new Thor film for inspiration. (But holy wow wasn't it good? *flails*)

C & A x

A/N; Anything familiar is owned by Marvel, bar El, Cass and the sub-plots... yay.

Eloise and Cass followed Coulson to their rooms, which were opposite each other's, with Cass next to Steve and Eloise next to Natasha. As ordered by Fury himself, Cass changed into her black running trousers and a long white top as Eloise decided on grey 3/4 and a tight black top.

They reconvened within 5 minutes and Coulson led them to an old fashioned training room. It was fully equipped with a boxing ring, as well as a punch bag, model dummies; tread mills and every kind of weapon you could possibly think of.

"Fury asked me to test your stamina first, so could you put your tread mill to walk and get going." Coulson walked over to a table in the corner of the room as the ladies began their assessment. He grabbed a pen and opened the files on each of their names. There was an awkward silence in the large room, apart from the buzzing of the equipment. Cass started giggling quietly and started looking around the room.

"This place is pretty neat." She craned her head to get a look at the boxing ring.

"It was designed with a 1940s feel to it, for Captain Rogers." They both nodded and continued on. They both knew of Coulson's obsession with Captain America, so weren't too keen to make it the centre of attention.

Soon afterwards, Coulson told them to start jogging and that was sped up to full pelt running as Cass wiped the sweat off her forehead. Eloise tightened her ponytail as she kept on moving. This kind of physical activity wasn't hard for her because of her previous martial arts training but running for 45 minutes for someone that wasn't trained was a tough deal.

"Okay, that's quite enough of that, Agents." Coulson suppressed a grin as the two women stumbled off the treadmill, clutching onto the rails to help.

"Right, now on to sparring." Eloise's face lit up at the word 'sparring' but Cass groaned, leaning forwards to rest on her hands on her thighs.

"Couldn't we stop for today?" She was still breathing deeply as was her partner. Coulson shook his head and motioned towards the ring. They all walked over and the pair slid through the ropes, but there were no gloves present. Coulson spoke as it he could read their minds.

"We want you two to try some aikido today." He shut the folders in a quick movement, making them both jump. Cass looked towards Eloise hesitantly.

"Don't you think that's a little unfair on Cass, she doesn't know any martial arts." Coulson thought for a second.

"Perhaps I could both find you a quarter staff to duel with?" Eloise nodded thanks and started whispering some techniques to her friend, who still looked slightly suspiciously at the wooden stick that was handed to her.

"It's not going to bite you, Cass." Eloise lifted up her staff and began twirling it in intricate patterns, whilst Cass backed away. Upon seeing her friend's reaction, she stopped and held the staff up in defensive position. Cass moved her staff up to match it.

"Just take it slow." Eloise said, moving her staff to hit Cass'. She concentrated and they kept on with slow movements until she had some confidence. Cass brought up her bo in a huge slash, which Eloise deflected neatly.

"You know, I think you could get seriously good at this with some practice." Eloise grinned over at her learning friend but quickly ended the fight by using the bo as a pole vault and getting a kick in to the torso, causing Cass to topple to the side. Eloise let out a quick shriek and helped her friend up.

"Sorry." She muttered, handing her back her staff. "Still sorry." Cass gave her an unconvinced look before bringing her staff up above her head. Just as it looked like she was going to hit, she brought out her foot and hooked it round her friend's knee, bringing Eloise down in a jumbled heap.

"And I was being nice!" She mumbled onto the ground of the boxing ring, pulling herself up onto her hands and knees, facing away from Cass. In one smooth movement, she pushed back on her knees and used her staff to take out her friend, sending her into an equally jumbled heap in front of her. They both heard booming laughter behind them and shot round to see Thor standing next to Coulson with Steve on the other side, still dressed in his Captain America suit.

"It reminds me of Bilgesnipe." Thor said as the girls stood up. Eloise handed Cass her staff.

"Is that a good thing?" She asked, nimbly slipping between the ropes, holding them open for Cass.

"I believe so, tiny Midgardian." He thought for a moment. "Only you are more beautiful and Bilgesnipe are...less vicious..." He trailed off and looked at the staff. "May I?" He presented his hand and Eloise threw it to him. He caught it and began tossing it from one hand to another. "I like these! They are so light yo-" He stopped suddenly as it splinted in his hand. There was an awkward silence as the two pieces fell to the ground.

"Perhaps I should show you your lodgings, Thor?" Cass passed her bo to Eloise and led him away by the arm. Steve and Coulson looked on and then back at the remaining female.

"I guess that means the physical is over?" She said light-heartedly as Coulson sighed.

"We really wanted to test the extent of your powers but that can wait until another day I suppose..." He picked up the two pieces of the staff and walked out of the room, leaving Steve and Eloise standing there. It was another awkward silence before Steve cleared his throat.

"That was an impressive display, ma'am." He smiled at her and ran a hand through his boyish blonde locks. She grinned back and walked over to where the staffs where being held. She put her one back into place and turned back to the hero.

"Thanks, Cap." She walked towards him, patting him on the shoulder. She could feel the defined muscle underneath his clingy shirt.

"You can call me Steve, ma'am." He gave her a shy grin.

"On one condition, Steve." She put emphasis on his name. "My name is Eloise." He smiled at her and they walked out towards the gym exit. Once they'd approached it, Steve opened the door for her.

"Thank you." She looked up at him briefly with a smile as they ambled through a random corridor in the hellicarrier. Steve sighed and tried to pick up the non-existent conversation.

"So tell me about yourself, Eloise." He particularly liked pronouncing her first name. She thought for a moment.

"Well, my full name is Eloise Scarlett Hunter, I have absolutely no idea where I was born but I grew up in England, hence the accent. I don't even think Fury knows completely." She muttered the last sentence. "I was adopted when I was 4 months old by my now family and am an only child." She looked at him but he signalled for her to continue. "Urm, I like reading and I've taken martial art lessons since I was 8 years old. My favourite colour is purple and I have a scary obsession with dancing and gummy worms." Steve looked at her with a strange expression. "And I do tend to get looked at like that quite often." He blushed hearing her words.

"I-no, I mean, I don't think it's strange, but what are gummy worms?" His brow furrowed.

"Chewy sweet-shaped worms." He looked alarmed for a second. "But they're not actually real worms!" Steve chuckled and awkwardly looked down at the ground as silence washed over them once again. By now they were close to the mess hall.

"Hey, do you know what the time is?" Eloise asked, feeling her stomach rumble lightly. Steve looked down at his watch and said, "It's 7:30pm right now." She sighed.

"I'm going to go and get some dinner, want to come with?" She looked up at his tall frame with a hopeful smile. Steve gapped for a moment.

"I-urm, sure." She flashed him another grin as they stepped into the hall. It looked exactly like her school canteen only a tad bigger, with the benches and multiple meal choices. She grabbed a tray and quickly surveyed the choices.

"Well, I was hoping for something a bit more exciting than this." She commented as she spooned a small piece of shepherd's pie.

"I think it looks edible." Steve said, filling his plate with a rather suspicious-looking pasta dish.

"Right..." She picked up her tray, grabbed some orange juice and walked over at an empty table. Steve joined moments later. He started eating like a starved man would, but with more table manners. Eloise inspected a carrot.

"Y'know, this reminds me so much of my high school days." She chuckled and started eating.

"What was your high school like?" Steve asked in between mouthfuls. Eloise picked at her food with her fork.

"Well, if you compare it to your high school, you'd be shocked. But there's something's that haven't really changed." She paused for a moment. "There are still cliques. You have the rich kids, sport maniacs, geeks, indies, the oddballs in the middle and the normal kids."

"And where were you?" Steve looked genuinely interested. To him, although he wouldn't want to admit it, she looked so much like his Peggy right now and with the virtually identical accent, he was eating up her words.

"I was never really sure then, but looking back at it from a third person point of view, I was probably in my own little clique with my friends."

"What are your friends like?" He asked.

"Within my group, there were 8 of us. We had a pretty one, some sporty ones, a couple of prats and Cass, who's just something else altogether!" Steve smirked slightly.

"And what about you?"

"I guess you could call me the dangerous one." She said with a smirk. Steve looked unconvinced.

"Dangerous one?" He repeated.

"Yeah. I knew martial arts and a lot about weaponry as well as explosives, I was a danger to society." She joked.

"That doesn't make you dangerous, it makes you prepared for danger." He said, finishing off his rather large dinner. She cocked an eyebrow.

"Oh, you haven't seen me when I'm angry, perhaps then you'll think about rephrasing." They ate in silence until she was finished. Steve saw the time was 8:30pm and stood up, taking her tray and his to the bin.

"Thank you." She said as he walked back over to her, who was still seated.

"I'll probably be heading to my room now." He said as she stood up and stretched.

"Yeah, I think I might head to bed now. Jet lagged and all." They walked out of the hall, which now contained very few agents.

"What kind of martial arts do you know?" Steve asked out of the blue.

"Urm, taekwondo, karate, aikido, kendo, Kung fu and a little bit of tegumi." She said in one breath. Steve looked over at her with a smile.

"Quite a handful." He replied.

"What, me or the martial arts?" She joked, chuckling quietly. Steve laughed self-consciously, scratching the back of his head. "So, Mr. 1940's, what do you think of the world now?"

"It's changed more than I expected." Steve replied thoughtfully. "The music, the customs, the clothing." He eyed her outfit out of the corner of his eye. She noticed and stared down at her boots.

"Is my outfit acceptable?" She turned her torso slightly so Steve could get another look but, being the gentleman that he was, a light red dusted his cheeks and he gapped for a moment.

"I-I-It's conservative enough for my tastes, so yes." He finally got out with a small smile playing at his lips. Eloise sighed and looked to the side for a moment.

"Y'know what Steve, never change. Even if you don't fit into everyday society, please don't change your attitude." She said, her lips pressed in a thin line.

"What prompted you to say that, ma'am?" He gave her a worried glance.

"There are so few gentlemen in the world today..." She trailed off and picked at the thread on her cardigan sleeve. "Most men would play around with girls, but worryingly too many girls find that acceptable for them to do..." She said quietly. They reached the door to their opposite rooms.

"Well I believe this is goodnight ma'am." Steve said, straightening up. Eloise laughed.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Steve and if you need any help with technology or whatnot, I'm opposite and Cass is that way." She gave a dramatic sweep of her arm. Steve smiled thankfully.

"Sleep well ma'am." He said as she turned to her door. She turned back and grinned.

"It's Eloise, Steve. Or just El. Either or, just not ma'am because it makes me feel like the queen."

"Understood." He smiled, opening his door.

"Sleep well Steve." Eloise said as she peered round the door.

"You too… Eloise."
