Matt didn't actually need Clint to send him a copy of the briefing, but it was appreciated. He knew the building they were talking about, he had actually been staking it out for a few nights, trying to figure out exactly what was happening inside. Knowing that Hydra was in his city, that was an insult.

Matt could pinpoint all the Avenger's specific heartbeats. He had hung out around Clint and, eventually, Tony enough that he knew theirs already.

Daredevil stepped next to Hawkeye.

"Ready?"

"Jeez, you have to stop doing that. You missed the inspiring pep talk by the way."

"Oh really?" Daredevil grinned. "You'll have to fill me in."

Hawkeye shrugged. "Not quite sure what was said. I turned my hearing aids off. I'm pretty sure it ended with Avengers, Assemble!"

Daredevil snorted.

The rest of the Avengers noticed Daredevil's presence.

"I hope you reviewed the plan," Captain America said. "We can't afford any slip ups."

Daredevil knew that Captain America, and most of the other Avengers if he was being honest, weren't happy that he dipped on the briefing plan. It's true, he hadn't planned on sticking around long, but he had to leave earlier than he expected. Stark Tower is a sensory nightmare. The glass is a pain to navigate around, there's little to no braille whatsoever, and most information was conveyed in hologram and booming AI voices. No matter how strong his other senses are, he has no way of detecting what's going on in a hologram. He can only tell they're there by the faint buzzing noise that all electronics give off.

Daredevil also wasn't overly concerned with impressing the Avengers or SHIELD. He was only planning on working with them for this one mission, which he reluctantly took at the insistence of Karen and Clint. That was before he knew it was in Hell's Kitchen. No way was he going to let the Avengers run wild in his city. He supposed that if they had future work on his side of town, he could collaborate, but he wasn't looking forward to it.

"Alright team, it's time."

Hawkeye and Daredevil burst through the skylights on the top floor while Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow entered at various points on the lower levels.

Hawkeye and Daredevil had hit the meeting room. Their job was to incapacitate as many members as possible before they could escape. Captain America and Black Widow were in charge of taking care of security, which Daredevil had emphasized no killing, while Iron Man was in charge of securing the mystery boxes.

Tony had pouted upon being put on what he dubbed babysitting duty, but Natasha had reminded him that he was the best one to figure out what was in the boxes, in between fighting off Hydra agents.

Hawkeye and Daredevil had rounded up most of the Hydra agents. Hawkeye shooting them with mild tranquilizer while Daredevil favored simply knocking them out the old fashioned way. Only a few had managed to slip out in the chaos.

They chased the final stragglers until they had her cornered.

"Don't shoot, or we all go up in flames," the Hydra agent held out something cylindrical and metal.

"She's telling the truth," Daredevil growled.

Hawkeye's heartbeat spiked in fear. "A bomb." He put a finger to his comm. "Hawkeye to Iron Man. There's a bomb in those crates. Remote activated."

Tony's voice crackled over the comm. "On it."

"Your friend won't be able to find and disarm it in time," the Hydra agent said. "Let me go, and don't follow me, or I'll detonate it."

"Are you crazy?" One of her associates yelled at her.

"Do you understand?"

"You'll detonate it anyways," Daredevil said.

"No, I won't. So long as you follow my instructions."

Daredevil already knew she was lying, but that wasn't the point. Hawkeye had picked up on his message. Stall her for as long as you can.

"Give us him." Hawkeye motioned to the male Hydra agent with his arrow. "If you really want us to believe you. Hand him over."

"You wouldn't," the male agent said.

"Fine." The female agent kicked him over.

Hawkeye put the man in cuffs. "If you really wanted loyalty and dependability in your colleagues, why did you join Hydra?"

"Now, step aside."

Daredevil and Hawkeyeslowly stepped to the side.

The female Hydra agent walked by, it wasn't until she got past both of them that Daredevil could hear Iron Man's voice over the comms.

"I got it!"

Daredevil threw a baton at her, taking her out at the knees.

She pressed the detonator. The two Hydra agents braced in preparation.

"What?"

Both of their heartbeats were racing. Relief from not being blown to pieces, confusion as to why.

"We're the Avengers," Clint said. "Do you really think we don't know how to diffuse bombs?"

Daredevil put handcuffs on her and added the two of them to the pile of knocked out and tied up Hydra agents they had in the other room. Over the comms, Black Widow reported that she and Cap had managed to round up and stragglers.

The SHEILD transportation vehicles showed up and started moving agents and confiscated items into the vans. The mysterious crates ended up being mostly guns and other various weapons, a few bombs, and a couple other items Daredevil couldn't identify right away.

Overall, a successful mission.

Hawkeye clapped him on his back. "Not too bad for your first large group team up."

"Not too bad at all."

"Does that mean you're considering making this a regular thing?" Hawkeye asked hopefully.

"No, don't get your hopes up. I still prefer working on my own, but I wouldn't immediately say no to any future team ups."

"Yes!" Hawkeye fistpumped.

"I said immediately!"

"I knew we'd grow on you!"

"Before any future team ups," Daredevil stressed the potential, "you need to talk to Stark about Stark Tower, it's not very accessible. Too much glass messes with my senses."

"Oh, I wasn't even thinking of that," Hawkeye said. "And I'm sure the holograms were a pain too."

"Absolutely."

"He'll work on it. He takes stuff like that to be a challenge. I'm sure in a few months he'll find a way to make the holograms tangible."

The two of them laughed.
