I looked at the map, watching the dot slowly move across the desert, tapping my fingers on the control panel, mindlessly tapping buttons, looking at the coordinates on the screen to make sure we weren't too far nor too close. The boat was almost dead silent if it weren't for the jumble of mumbling voices I could hear below deck, sorting out the plan since Pixel and Zane managed to retrieve a map of the ship.

"How's it going bluejay?" I shot my head up, glancing behind me at the potential threat, only to notice it was just Mom. "Oh, it's just you.." I mumbled, looking back at the screen, noting the coordinates again, and that the large ship was starting to slow down. I heard her soft footsteps approach me from behind. "Blue jay, talk to me, what's on your mind?" I blankly stared at the screen for a few moments. How can she say that as if she's been in my life this whole time? She left me with ed and Edna and still hasn't given me a reason for it! "I don't know what you're talking about Libber, I'm perfectly fine." I didn't need to look behind me to know her usual hipper mood changed. "Alright now I defiantly know something is wrong." Footsteps approached me from behind. "Look darling, I know I haven t been around to help you in the past but that doesint mean I dont care about you right now so please give me this chance to help you during this difficult time." I paused. Glancing up at the screen again, the ship was slowing down even more but I struggled to focus on that. I turned around again, suddenly feeling bad for the way I acted previously when I saw moms face. A sigh left my lips unintentionally before I spoke without thinking once again. "If you care about me so much why did you leave me alone, why come back now?" she seemed to pause for a moment before she resigned, "after your father and I had our falling out, I couldn't take care of you myself. I didnt have a place and I didnt trust your father to raise you well so I left you with Ed and Edna." I hummed, "but that still dosint explain why you never came back for me if that was the case." I pointed out the flaw in her statement without hesitation. She sat in one of the chairs in the corner, looking at the floor with her hands clasped together. "Well, I was going to come back for you but than I discovered Ray and Mayas sudden disappearance and lily's sickness. I couldn't help but stop and think about how much danger you could have ended up in if you stayed with me. So in the end I decided you were safer with Ed and Edna since you would be safer and they were happy to final have a child like they always wanted, I couldn't take you away from them even if I wanted to." She looked up from the floor, looking me in the eye with a small smile. I took a shaky breath, how could I ever be mad at her for reasonings like that? "Get up." I stated, she looked at me confused but complied. I launched myself at her, wrapping my arms around her in a tight hug. "Thank you."

"I'm sorry to interrupt this moment between you Libber, but have you seen my son? He seemed upset the last time I saw him." We both shot our heads up and released the hug, looking at Lilly who stood in the doorway with a warm smile. "Oh, I'm pretty sure I saw him heading to our room." I started, looking back at the map.

I saw her reflection nod. "Thank you Jay."

I sat on my bunk bed, looking down at the photo in my hands. It was a photo of Kai, Me and my dad. I had taken it on Father's day when Kai went with me to see my dad since he had no one else to spend the day with and everyone else left the bounty. I took a shaky breath, if only I could tell them both the truth about how I felt that day. The door hinges caught my attention, forcing me to look away from the photo. Mom stepped into the room with a small smile. "There you are, I was wondering where you went off too." She made her way over to me. Glancing down at the photo I was holding before looking back up at me, almost examining me before releasing a sigh and sitting beside me. "Alright, what's wrong? Don't try to lie to me, I know you Cole." I gave her a small smile in return, looking back down at the photograph. "It's nothing big mom." I reassured, not wanting to bother her much. "Darling, just by the look on your face, I can tell it's something." I glanced at her, her small smile still remained on her face. I looked back down at the photo, debating on whether I should risk telling her now since I just got her back. After one more glance at mom, it became clear I couldn't lie to her. I sighed. "There's something I've been wanting to tell dad, but I've been unable to get enough courage to do so. after how he reacted to me not wanting to dance, I was too scared to know how he would feel about it." I looked back up at mom, her small smile had changed to a big grin. "Let me guess, you like Maya's boy." I paused, my jaw slac. "Knew it." She beamed. "You can't get anything past me Cole." I was about to respond when Lloyd burst into the room "the ship stopped were boarding now!"
