Chapter 11: Resonance
Something was different. Pyre didn't quite know why, but once he opened his eyes to the dream again, he was at the foot of the mountain. Looking to Xatu and Alakazam.
"This isn't good!" Alakazam seemed to pace back and forth. "First the legendary birds fled back to their roosts, then the twins darted off, and what was that rumbling?!"
"The cruelest twists of fate, corruption and freedom. A dark shadow is falling across our great land. Peace shattered by chaos." Xatu spoke almost coldly.
"Stop being cryptic for five minutes!"
Xatu lifted it's wing pointing toward the summit. Both Pyre and Alakazam look toward its peak. A single long streak of green burst into the sky with a deafening roar. The reason for its cry of pain became evident near its tail end. A massive red form was clinging to it, clawing away at it. In similar fashion a massive pillar of water struck the green creature. Its body shook, finally breaking free of the massive red being clinging to it.
"Rayquaza….failed…" Alakazam spoke with sorrow in his voice. "The corruption of the calamity has even taken Kyogre and Groudon. Our world…is doomed."
"In our darkest hour, the radiance of a sapphire flame will shut out the dark."
"That prophecy can't save us, the calamity is going to break free."
A loud crash came echoing from the mountain top. And finally the massive pillar beside the pokemon collapsed.
"Your beloved sapphire flame went out so long ago! What can we do!?" Alakazam fell to his knees, ready to resign his fate.
"Time is ever shifting and changing. Our savior yet lives." Xatu once again pointed with his wing. This time directly at Pyre.
The Charmander was a bit startled. Was it like when that calamity had looked at him, could Xatu see him. His mind was put at ease as a large figure seemed to pass through him. From behind he could easily tell what they were. A Charizard. But no normal Charizard, one of glorious crimson scales, and whose tail was glowing and gleaming in a beautiful cerulean light. Besides the Charizard stood a steadfast Braixen. Between the two was a Charmeleon, though his scales were the usual orange color, his tail still had its blue hue.
Circling around to see them from the front, Pyre couldn't make out their faces. Though he doubted it mattered. What intrigued him most was the small egg clutched in the hands of the Charizard.
"We can do this. We, will save you." The Charizard spoke, though it's voice sounded off, distant and Pyre couldn't make out whether the pokemon in question was male or female, or perhaps something else entirely.
"Our family has done so before, and we will do so again!" The Braixen spoke, there voice strangely distorted as well.
"Umm, what about eggy?" The Charmeleon asked, his boyish voice was easy to hear and somehow familiar to Pyre.
The Charizard kneeled down. "Don't worry about your brother, I'll keep him safe!"
"Okay, I trust you mom!" The Charmeleon hugged the apparent mother Charizard.
"Now Tin, you need to focus." The Braixen spoke up. "Your mother can protect your brother, but we'll need to make sure we help her out. And once it's done, we can even give him a proper name."
Tin hugged the Braixen. "Thanks dad! I'll do my best!"
"Ferna?" The apparent father looked at the Charizard. "Are you ready to save the world?"
The Charizard extended a claw holding the fox Pokemon's paw "Ember, there isn't a mon alive I'd rather do this with!"
The two leaned in to give a sweet kiss to each other. And they spoke in unison, their distorted voices seeking to clear, if only for the briefest moment. "I love you."
Pyre watched as they suddenly made a dash toward the mountain.
*In The Waking World*
Pyre woke up and immediately looked around for the snivy he'd been with just hours prior. He hadn't seen the grass snake yet, but noticed they had apparently moved from where they'd had their intimate interaction.
"Hey, you're finally awake." Ivy called out from just a short distance away. When Pyre looked over the snivy was soaking in a river. "Come here, get yourself cleaned up."
Pyre looked down over himself, noticing he was still a mess from their prior activities. "Umm….could you…help me with it?" Pyre seemed a bit nervous.
The snivy looked curiously at him. "What's wrong?"
"Well, I've never been comfortable in water," Pyre spoke, slowly approaching the water's edge. "Ya know, fire type and all that."
"Just step in, it's not deep." Ivy gave a comforting smile. "Just hold your tail up."
Hesitantly the Charmander stepped down into the water, clutching his tail tight holding the tip up over his head.
Ivy suddenly splashed water across Pyre's body several times before carefully running his hands along Pyre's body, gently scrubbing his scales and wiping away the evidence of their actions.
The Charmander flinched at first but relaxed at the grass type's gentle touch. After only a few minutes Ivy had seemingly cleaned Pyre up rather well. And the Charmander hopped out of the water taking a seat by it's edge.
The snivy came closer. Beckoning Pyre closer again.
"What's up?" Pyre moved to sit on the very edge letting his paws rest in the water.
"I still have one last place to clean up Pyre."
The fire lizard gave a curious look as Ivy reached out gently grabbing his paws. Pyre visibly gulped at the sudden touch. "Uhhhh?"
The grass type gently scrubbed the charmander's foot paws and soles until they seemed clean. Then without asking, simply began to knead and massage them. "Pyre?"
"Uhh y-yeah?"
"Do you like me?" Ivy gently rubbed his small thumbs in circles across Pyre's paws. "Or I guess, do you like mating with me?"
Pyre was surprised by the question. "Well..uhh.."
"It's okay if you don't, I have kinda forced it on you." Ivy looked up at him, not letting up on the gentle massage. "You seemed to enjoy it, but you weren't exactly trying to do it. So, I want to know if you want it, or if you just can't stop yourself once you get going."
Pyre remained silent.
"Do you…find me attractive?"
Pyre sighed and started smiling in his usual Pyre way. "I do, and I do enjoy what we do…I do wish you'd ask though."
A warm sensation overcame Pyre, and he looked down, the snivy had just run his tongue against one of the charmander's soles. "Do you like having your paws toyed with?"
"I-ivy…we really shouldn't do something like that again so soon.."
"It's just a question, besides, don't you think you deserve to have these enjoyed. These strong, soft paws."
"I would, just…n-no now."
The snivy nodded and gently released Pyre, who then pulled his paws from the water. "Well you're all cleaned up. And so am I. I guess we should head back now…" Ivy made to get out of the water when a sudden burst of white hot pain erupted throughout his body. The loud crackle of electricity was heard just a short distance away.
Pyre reacted on instinct, reaching out and yanking the snivy out of the water, despite also sending the lightning shooting through him as he did so.
After the sudden movement they both fell to the ground, electricity jolting and crackling around them. Paralyzed, deliberately so it seemed.
"Master will be pleased brother."
"This was certainly your greatest plan yet sister."
Two voices came as Pyre's eyes followed their sound. A Plusle and a Minun.
"P-Pyre…" Ivy was looking straight at Pyre, fear in his eyes.
The two electric types stood over the snivy.
"This one is cute, don't you think brother?"
"Oh yes sister, I agree." The Minun flipped Ivy onto his back. The blue electric type suddenly began fondling the grass types body intrusively.
"Do we really have time for that?"
"Master did say that we were allowed to take what we want, so long as the Charmander dies. He's not going anywhere. And this snivy…" Minun trailed off sitting atop Ivy, suddenly kissing him hard. After only a moment Minun pulled away. "Is a cut of fuckable meat."
Ivy's eyes shot open and his body began to shake. "N-no! Get off me!"
"Get off him!" Pyre yelled getting their attention.
"Have your fun brother, I'll take care of him." Plusle stepped over to Pyre forcing his eyes onto the two pokemon. "watch as my dear brother uses your friend as his worthless toy!"
Minun trailed his hands lower down Ivy's body, passing over his quickly exposing shaft, and reaching his still loosened tailhole. "Ooh, a trained toy too, it must be my lucky day!"
"Get away from him!" Pyre struggled, forcing his body against the paralysis to move.
Plusle however wasn't going to have this torment interrupted. She suddenly sent a burst of electricity straight through Pyre's skull. "Once you've watched my brother rape and kill your little fuck buddy, I'll fry your brain, but not a moment sooner."
Minun moved himself up to Ivy's face. "Open wide bitch!" The snivy struggled trying to keep his mouth shut. "Ooh a tough guy are ya?" Minun carefully rested his paws atop Ivy's throat forcefully pushing down, cutting off his oxygen. In a desperate attempt to breathe Ivy opened his mouth, gasping for air. And with that a sudden mass rammed straight into his mouth. "See, was that so hard? Well, I guess I am now, so just relax."
Ivy tried to struggle, but his body wouldn't move. Tears began to stream down his face.
"S-stop it.." Pyre barely choked out, only to receive another zap straight to his head.
Everything suddenly faded away for Pyre.
*Within Pyre's Dream*
The three fire types stood at the summit of black flame shrouded mountain.
"Ember?" Ferna looked to her lover.
"You want me to store the egg?"
"Yes, you can still do it right?"
The Braixen rested his paws against the egg, then against the Charizard's stomach. In a split second the egg was gone.
"Back inside you, where it should be safe."
The two nodded before looking at their son. "I'm ready, we can do this!"
They approached the apparent area the calamity was sealed in, the area directly around it seemed tinged with shadows themselves.
They stared straight into a small void-like cave. Glancing around they noticed the buildings once in place here had been destroyed in the recent conflict. Standing just in front of the cave, Groudon, and beside them, Kyogre.
"Nothing we can't handle. Rescue Team Radiance is here, and we're going to end this here and now!" Ferna seemed fired up. There was no fear in her body, but no complacency either. Pure determination.
"Begone from my sight." That dark, calamitous voice spoke up. The trio of fire types were prepared to retort when the two massive legendaries turned away and began moving. They weren't attacking, they were leaving.
Dark tendrils burst forth from the cave once the two larger pokemon had begun their descent. Dozens flailed wildly from the cave mouth, suddenly all stabbing upward toward the sky before spiraling down together creating the vortex like form Pyre had seen up until now.
Wordlessly the three fire types let loose a combined wall of flames directly at the vortex veiled creature.
A burst of steam erupted without warning covering the area.
Once it dissipated the three pokemon found themselves completely surrounded. All around them, in front of the Calamity, perched atop pillars, and clinging to nearby walls, scores of Sneasel and Weavile.
"Kill them." That twisted voice ordered.
Suddenly the entire pack sprang into action letting out a barrage of ice spikes in a far too well coordinated fashion.
"Protect!" Ember threw out his hand holding a stick in it like a wand and a barrier of light surrounded them shattering each spike with ease.
Tin spun around as three Sneasel leapt at them from behind. He slammed his tail into them knocking them away, quickly following up by spewing flames at them.
Ferna aimed her sight directly at the calamity as she took in a deep breath. When she exhaled a massive ball of fire shot forth spreading out into a star like pattern.
As if the calamity weren't cruel enough it suddenly lifted a surprisingly small and malnourished Sneasel into the air using its body as a shield for the attack. The ensuing explosion left the Sneasel unconscious, but the calamity unharmed, it's vicious magenta eyes glaring straight at Ferna.
"You're more of a monster than I gave you credit for, throwing your own subordinate out as a meat shield!" She snarled at the vortex veiled being.
"So you are surprised? Unfortunately my dear this is reality, cruelty and destruction."
Tin seemed to shudder startled by the viciously distorted voice of the calamity.
It's magenta eyes narrowed to slits aimed directly at him. "Be not afraid. I am peace. I am. Salvation."
*In The Waking World*
Pyre's eyes shot open and he immediately locked onto Ivy, tears still streaming down his face, which was pinned under Minus groin as the blue electric type thrusted mercilessly straight down the snivy's throat.
"Oh, look who woke up." Plusle spoke smacking the back of Pyre's head. "Oh Brother, I think you can move to his worthless tailhole now.
"In good time, first I'm going to empty myself in this sweet mouth!" Minun kept thrusting ruthlessly. "Ya like that ya little whor…"
The blue electric type was cut off as he was sent flying into a tree.
Plusle stood stunned, the Charmander moved so fast she couldn't react. But his body was still pulsing with electricity, so how was he moving?
The two electric pokemon didn't notice the difference, but Ivy did. The snivy stared at the glorious golden tint his sapphire flame had taken. The same golden tint that was accompanied by pulses of electricity.
"I told you to leave my friend alone!"
Minun appeared behind Pyre slamming into him and nuzzling his back side, trying to use the static buildup to paralyze him again. Mid nuzzle Pyre slapped him into the air with his tail.
Plusle approached from the side to attempt the same move. Again it failed as Pyre swatted her away with his tail. The two landed together in a heap just a short distance away.
"Hey, you alright?" Pyre took an opportunity to kneel down before Ivy.
"My throat is really sore…"
"I know, but don't worry, I'll take care of this." Pyre stood up, turning back to the two electric rodents. They stood side by side.
"So, together my dear brother?"
"Of course dear sister."
With their words done, the two stepped in line with each other, Minun blocking the view of Plusle with his body. Then the two rushed forth. Pyre prepared himself immediately blocking Minun's opening headbutt, only for the rodent to lose his momentum as Plusle jumped over striking down with a sudden thunder shock. Pyre reeled from the hit only for Minun to land and instantly propel himself forward, finishing the headbutt he'd started. The fire type stumbled back tripping over Ivy's still paralyzed body.
Plusle and Minun acted immediately as the blue rodent jumped forward hitting Pyre in the face, as the red one hit his legs, sending him crashing to the ground. Just as Pyre stood up and looked at them, he saw a familiar sight, Minun Dashing forward with Plusle blocked from view.
This time thinking fast, he jumped back. A smart move given this time their tactic was a fake out. Minun went for the headbutt fully. His momentary triumph was instantly culled as Plusle pressed her paws to her brothers kicking off of him, sending the blue electric type just far enough to once again hit Pyre.
The Charmander rolled to his feet almost stumbling back into the water behind him. Again he found Minun coming straight at him, with Plusle out of view. Trying to avoid them he jumped to the side, but once he did, Plusle emerged hitting him with a thundershock, allowing her brother to tackle Pyre into the water. Plusle immediately jumped in, and together they pinned the fire type under water, trying to douse the flame on his tail. Both let out the largest burst of electricity they could.
*Within Pyre's Dream*
Ferna roared out spewing a large cone of fire directly at the calamity before them. Again the calamity used the same unconscious Sneasel as a shield against her flames.
Ember grabbed her clawed hand. "Together love!"
Ferna nodded and the two closed their eyes.
The Charizard's body was suddenly enveloped in light which once dissipated showed her body changed. Dark black scales now adorned her body, and the flames spewing from her tail and mouth had become a regal purple color.
Ember too was enveloped in light, his body however simply ascending to the next stage of evolution, Delphox. Though now his fur was primarily the same black as Ferna's scales. And any off colored fur was the same purple as his mates flames.
Ferna once again spit fire at the calamity, this time several fire blasts, each one taking a spiraling star shape, and all a deep violet hue.
Complimenting his partner Ember seemed to throw several reflective barriers around, causing the seven fire blasts to bounce around wildly until they all converged upon the calamity itself.
*In The Waking World*
Pyre burst out of the water, to the surprise of the two electric types holding him. They pushed off of him regrouping for their next combination. But something was different. Looking at the Charmander. He seemed completely calm like he wasn't just fighting for his life. And the electricity that was previously surrounding him had vanished. His tail swayed behind him. One quick flick to cleanse it of water revealed the sapphire flame was gone, and in its place, a regal amethyst flame raged.
Pyre couldn't explain it. But he felt this one, like he'd experienced this form change before. He remembered how his Dark Form had emerged with anger and rage, and how his Victory Form had manifested with compassion and determination. But this felt different, like nothing else mattered but winning this battle, as if all his mind was capable of, was focus.
"You're pissing me off now, just die already!" Minun yelled out as the two burst forth rushing Pyre again.
The strategy was the same, Minun acts as the face, the focus, then Plusle does the hard hitting.
But then, Pyre stepped forward. Once his paw lifted the grass under it was revealed to have been burned to ashes. He took another step forward.
Minun launched forward, using his opening headbutt. Pyre didn't move, he simply reached out, catching the electric rodent by the head. Plusle tried jumping over only to be slammed hard into the ground by her brother's body.
The two started to attempt to stand only to see the Charmander over them swinging his fist down. The impact made a small indent of the two in the ground. Without wasting time, Pyre lifted them out of the hole he'd put them in. Suddenly he tossed them both up into the air together. The two grabbed onto each other in the hopes of slowing their descent. But fear flashed in their eyes as they saw the massive ball of blue fire burst from Pyre's mouth suddenly spiraling into the shape of a star. The attack collided with them, and it exploded, sending them comically flying off into the distance.
With a nod Pyre turned back, the violet color of his flames vanishing as he focused on Ivy. The snivy had managed to stand up and was slowly stumbling toward Pyre. "You…did it.." the grass snake fell forward into Pyre's arms.
"Hey, you just relax, let's get back to camp, alright buddy?" Pyre lifted the snivy up carefully in bridal style.
"Pyre…please don't let this make anything awkward between us but..I…I love you…"
"Sorry I can't say the same." The charmander's blunt honesty might've hurt, but for some reason, Ivy felt content with that answer. "I do care about you though. Wouldn't have fought so hard to protect ya otherwise."
"I…..thank you Pyre." Ivy rested his head against Pyre's chest.
*Elsewhere*
"You worthless rodents!" Xiphos shouted, striking both Minun and Plusle across the face.
"Sir please, we did our best!" Plusle pleaded.
"We did, sir, honest!
"As if I didn't see you. You bear the mark of my Master! I see what you see, as does Master!" Xiphos pinned Minun to a rock. "If you kept that pathetic cock of yours under control Pyre would be dead! My master would be pleased, and I'd become his personal consort!"
Minun tried to move away, but being pinned prevented him from doing so.
"Let him go, please sir, we won't fail again!"
Xiphos released Minun and turned to Plusle gently resting his claw upon her shoulder. "No, you won't." Without warning he slashed her throat taking a chunk of flesh out of her. She collapsed to the ground writhing and clutching her throat desperate to stop the blood from flowing out.
Minun dropped to his knees, trying in vain to help his sister. At least he did for a minute. Until Xiphos grabbed him by the ears and yanked him back, shoving him to the ground. The weavile grabbed Minun's legs forcing them up to his head. "Since you're so obsessed with mating, that's exactly what I'll use you for!" Xiphos got close, biting Minun's neck. "Your only purpose in life from now until I'm tired of you, is to be my breeding toy."
