Before you say: OMG ATHPluver where the fuck have you been? Let me tell you something first, okay? So as you all know, I told you my computer failed on me and I had to get it fixed and recover my files. Unfortunately, that was impossible. I lost everything- and I mean everything. My books, my art, fan fiction, photos, music, etc. As you can imagine, I was pretty damn upset about it.

And don't go: Why didn't you back up your Mac (2007 edition by the way). I forgot to do that on a regular basis. My fault, I get it. BUT I'm human. All my friends bitched to me about it and I really wanted to tell them to shut the hell up.

THAT IS WHY I haven't updated anything in a while (that and school). I'm sorry, my readers. Life carries on and let's leave it at that.

On a lighter note: I have returned from my depression and I will be continuing this story on my mom's computer out in the living room of my apartment. The only time I am able to do so is after school and homework and before my "bedtime" which is whenever the hell I feel like sleeping. Usually after a couple of episodes of Fairy Tail on Netflix.

A shout out to romanticgirly23 who entered a line for Fionna and Marshall! Thank you so much! :) When you see the (!) that means her line has appeared. Look out for that!

Still taking songs, ideas, lines, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing besides the plot. This chapter is inspired by "The Creeps." The transcript doesn't belong to me. It was written by Ako Castuera and Jesse Moynihan. Thank you guys for making wonderful episode. Marshall Lee will be replacing Cinnamon Bun in this one, however, because she is a teacher instead of a student. The outfits for Fionna, Cake, LSP, and Gumball are influenced by TiaBlackRaven from deviantart.

I still own nothing.

He slammed the door behind him, making the coat rack fall to the floor. Marshall ground his teeth together as he marched up the staircase and into his room. An incredible rage of jealously had surged through him that night and he accidentally punched LSP in the face as he was making his way home. He would apologize for that later but right now, he wanted to sleep away this stupid night.

He tore the tie from his neck and ripped the vest off his body before flopping down onto his bed and growling with frustration. He stared at the ceiling for a few minutes, letting his mind decompose after that evening's event. A little mewing sound came from the door and Marshall turned his head to see his cat, Schwabl, poking her nose through the crack he left open. She padded over to him and hopped onto the bed, doing her "happy paws" dance, as he affectionately called it, on his chest.

"Hey, girl," he cooed gently, stroking her ear. "I almost forgot I brought you this year. You're always so quiet."

She meowed again and curled up into a ball on his chest. Marshall smiled gently and sighed, rubbing his eye with the heel of his hand.

"Geez," he mumbled. "Today was stupid… Why do I feel so… ugh, upset?"

He deduced it was because Fionna wasn't ready for a relationship and he was being overprotective. Pleased with that logic, he decided that was the reason to his anger from before. So what if Gumball was dating Fionna? Big deal! It wasn't his responsibility to tell Fionna who she can and can't date. Still, he wasn't really happy with the fact Gumball had kissed her after all the pain he caused her over the past few weeks.

Marshall decided not to care anymore. He closed his eyes and fell asleep, his mouth turned in a scowl.

Back at the party, Fionna was staring wide-eyed at the prince-like man in front of her. He was blushing but had a kind and almost proud smile on his face.

"Fionna…" he whispered. "May I walk you home?"

"That would be nice," she said.

Hand-in-hand, they strode out of the MPR into the main campus. It took awhile for them to reach her dorm but she didn't mind in the slightest. Here she was, a freshman, holding hands with the most popular guy in the university. The heartthrob of all the girls. The prince coming to woo any worthy maiden. She was lucky, she thought. Her crush being her boyfriend…

Again, she felt giddy, lightheaded, and completely breath taken. But she also felt… incredibly guilty. Why should she feel guilty, though? What's wrong with having a boyfriend? She didn't take him after her friend broke up, she's not the "other woman," and she certainly wasn't cheating on anyone herself!

Raven hair and fang-like teeth appeared in her mind's eye and she remembered the look on Marshall Lee's face when he saw her being kissed by Gumball. Yes, she had seen it, but she didn't think much of it before she melted into Gumball's candy-flavored lips. It occurred to her then that Marshall was gone when she and her new boyfriend left the party.

But why was she feeling bad about kissing Gumball in front of him? Ugh, feelings are weird.

She decided not to dwell on it any longer. Marshall was just her friend and that was that.

"Here we are!" Gumball said cheerfully. "I'm certain Cake will be home soon… unless Mocro takes her out later but I'm not so sure." He gave her a wry smile at the thought. "But let's not discuss that."

Fionna giggled. "Good plan." She combed her fingers through the flip in his hair. "Thanks for an amazing night, Benson. I really enjoyed myself."

"I'm very happy you did," he said earnestly. "I'll see you tomorrow, Fionna. I'll call in the morning."

"I'll be waiting," she said, her face warming up.

Gumball kissed her swiftly before sauntering down the pathway, a slight bounce in his step. He waved goodbye as he turned the corner to go home himself. Fionna opened the door and walked in, shutting it behind her.

Her knees felt weak, her skin was crawling, and her face must have been on fire. She grinned at herself and laughed, biting down on her finger so she wouldn't wake the neighbors. Practically walking on air, Fionna glided up the stairs, shed her dress and pulled on her pajamas, and flopped onto her bed to fall into a peaceful slumber.

The next few weeks were filled with "ughs."

The newest wonder couple on campus were inseparable. It absolutely sickened Marshall to the core. All Fionna would talk about with Cake was Gumball and all Marshall heard from the guy was about Fionna. He complained to Cake, telling her that it was grossing him out. She sighed with a smile and told him it was nothing more than their "puppy-love" phase and that it would wear off eventually.

Wear off when? Would the two end up going all the way together and go through that stage where one couldn't simply go back to holding hands? If that were the case, he had to make sure Fionna was protecting herself from losing her virginity. He even heard her talking to BMO about it during lunch one day as they were sitting in the quad. Gumball and Mocro had a meeting for student council and didn't show so it was just Blaise, Cake, Fionna, Marshall, and BMO hanging out underneath a tree. The colors were turning red and orange, showing that autumn was making its way into the world. Marshall was tuning his guitar when he heard Fionna mutter something to BMO.

"I heard that a few boys were spreading around a rumor that I lost my virginty to Benson," she said, tugging at the grass. "That's annoying."

"Boys will be boys, Fi," BMO said with a shrug.

"(!)But I'm sick and tired of guys treating me like a baby! Maybe I should just give up my virgin-," she began but Marshall butt in. He couldn't stop himself.

"No, Fionna!" he shouted, startling everyone around him. "Abstinence is key!"

"Okay, Marsh, just-."

"I'm serious! Keep that present of yours wrapped and don't let any hotdogs into your bun!"

They all stared at him, their eyes wide. Fionna was the first to compose herself as she sent him a glare, scowling a little.

"Marshall, you revolt me," she said dryly. (!)

So that was great.

Fionna avoided any talk about sex near him again. Marshall apologized for his… ah, violent reaction and for eavesdropping but it didn't matter to her anymore. She just shrugged her shoulders and said it was fine. In the meantime, Marshall was getting fed up with Ashley and was experiencing his own relationship problems. Ever since he moaned out Fionna's name while they were making out, Ashley had been rather cold… almost possessive over him. He was often whisked away by her and taken behind the arts building to do some things that I probably shouldn't mention in case of younger audiences.

Yay.

Blaise wasn't happy either. He was absolutely depressed by the fact that Fionna was dating Gumball. The prince of flame was moping a lot, hanging out with the AV kids that usually set up the movie nights. BMO tagged along, too, so they bonded fast. That was the bright side to all of this. He managed to stay sane while he watched Gumball give Fionna little kisses during the day and found that he wasn't the only one slightly disgusted. Marshall always looked like he was seething with a hidden rage when he looked upon the couple. It wasn't as if they were staring right at them… Fionna and Gumball were always leaning against the trunk of their tree and cuddling. Cake thought it was cute at first but then it started to get annoying.

But nobody said anything because it might hurt Fionna's feelings. She looked so happy with Gumball. So happy that it hurt her guys friends.

One morning in their first hour, Simone had yet to show up. The group was talking in the back row about this prank that Cake had pulled on Fionna back in high school. It was to celebrate her fourteenth birthday and they had ridden a train together but Cake filled it up with a fake murder mystery as her present. Fionna thought it was well put together but she really wanted to know what the point was. And how it all happened.

When Cake got up to talk to Berry Wild about one of their classes, Gumball pulled Fionna close and whispered in her ear, BMO, Marshall, Mocro, and LSP leaning close.

"We can help you get back at her," he said.

"Yeah, Fi. Let's pull a mega prank," Marshall agreed, grinning at her for the first time in a while. "Isn't Halloween coming up soon?"

"Ooh! Yes, I think I know where you are going," BMO said.

"What the lump are you talking about?" LSP demanded, crossing his arms.

"Cake always pulls pranks on me," Fionna said, ignoring LSP. "It's nothing out of the ordinary."

"But we can help you," Marshall argued. "You forget, Miss Mertens, I am a pranking master. Cake has nothing on me."

"We can scare her," Gumball said, a glint in his eyes that Fionna had never seen before. "For Halloween. We can put on a little get together at our dorm."

"Even better: that abandoned house up the hill," Marshall suggested. "Some say it's haunted."

BMO's face drained of its color. "R-really?"

"No, it's just a myth," Gumball said, shaking his head. "Marshall, don't scare her."

"Guys… are you really willing to help me get back at her?" Fionna said.

"Absolutely," Marshall said, chuckling darkly and rubbing his hands together. "It'll be fun."

"Yeah," Mocro finally spoke up, smiling a little.

"I have no idea what you guys are talking about but I'm in!" LSP declared.

Everyone promised to keep it on the down low so Cake won't figure it out. Halloween was coming up in a few days and they had all the time to plan. Marshall was able to scope out the house and found that it was still empty and dusty. Secretly he was happy that Gumball was agreeing with him on pranking Cake. Maybe it was to impress Fionna but that didn't matter. It was going to be hella fun and he was ready to get away from Ashely for one night.

They spent hours after school planning every move, every little thing, to make sure their prank went smoothly enough to scare Cake. It took the thought of Fionna and Gumball's relationship out of everyone's heads so it didn't bother them as they worked. In fact, the couple were working hard together with Marshall as they set up the house and notes for the next evening, staying up late to fix everything and get what they needed.

On Halloween, Cake opened the door with a yawn, rubbing her eyes to get the UAAA Times. She looked down at the porch and saw a little red package waiting for her beside the paper. On it in entr'acte handwriting was "Fionna & Cake." The brunette woke up a little more and grabbed the box, forgetting all about the paper. Fionna was lounging on the couch still in her pajamas, playing her DS.

"What's that?" she asked, eyeing the box in Cake's hands.

"Dunno. Let's see," Cake said, sitting in the recliner and opening it. Inside it was a letter with two invites inside. "Hm…" Cake mused, pulling out the invite that had her name on it. "'Dear Miss Cake Mertens. You are invited to a fancy dinner party in the house up the hills behind your university.' There's no name signed at the bottom."

"Mine says the same thing… maybe it's something that Marshall is doing for fun. We should go," Fionna said, glancing at her sister. She looked skeptical so Fionna decided to appeal to her interest. "You can make me a really fancy dress for it."

"I'm in!" Cake sang, clapping her hands together. "Let's go, honey!"

Regretting it at once, Fionna was dragged up the stairs to spend several hours trying on a fixing dresses Cake made. They actually came to an agreement on a blue-green strapless dress with a black choker. With the extra material, Cake made sleeves that went from the top of Fionna's fingers to her elbow. Cake then tied Fionna's hair up in a fancy bun, her bangs still falling in her face.

"You look hot, Fi," Cake winked at her. "Lemme change!"

"You're getting into the spirit," Fionna commented.

Outside, the sky was getting dark with swirling clouds. Rain began to fall from the sky and splash onto the earth below. Fionna grabbed an umbrella downstairs, ready to go. Cake bounded down the steps in a purple dress and a lavender wrap. A red flower was in her hair as she grinned.

"This actually is getting to be fun. Let's go," Cake said with a smile that Fionna had never seen her wear before, grabbing her own umbrella.

"Yeah," Fionna said, smirking to herself and following her sister out the door.

The two girls walked up a twisty road, the rain becoming stronger as they continued on, the house not too far away. Cake's umbrella was caught in the wind and got blown away but Fionna rushed over, covering her with her own umbrella instead.

"This stinks," Cake pouted as they went on. "Hey, how much longer till we get to the mysterious party?"

"We're here," Fionna said, pointing up the drive. "The party's in that mansion."

They strode up to a flight of stairs and climbed. They reached the door were another red box was waiting for them with the words "wear me" printed on it. Fionna bent down, Cake holding the umbrella, and opened the box. Inside were two masks. One was a fox mask and the other was green with holes for the eyes. Fionna handed the green one to Cake and kept the fox on for herself. They pulled them on and smiled at each other, knowing how goofy they must've looked with them on.

Fionna reached for the handle and opened the door. A large front room greeted them. It smelled like dust and mold but otherwise, it was beautifully decorated as if the entire place was made of velvet. A large staircase was laid out in front of the girls and a hallway was to their right. To their left was a sitting area where a group of people were waiting.

"Hello?" Fionna called.

"Yoo-hoo!" Gumball called from the group. He stepped forward, wearing a black suit with a dark pink vest and white undershirt, a pink bow tie done neatly just below the collar. A red rose was pinned to his jacket. He was also wearing a mask in the shape of a bird. Fionna smiled at him as he approached, kissing her hand tenderly. "Hello, ladies."

"Ha! Gumball, is that you?" Cake giggled.

"Why yes indeed. Although, according to the invitation, we're supposed to use mystery names," Gumball said. "And mine is Sir Quietbottom."

"My name is Duke Gummybuns," LSP announced from the couch. He was wearing a red mask with holes for the eyes. He wore a similar tux like Gumball did but the vest and tie were red, rather than pink.

"I am Professor Pants," BMO said with a giggle, she wore a little bear mask and her dress was as teal as her hair, her necklace resembling buttons one would find on a video game.

"I'm Guy Farting," Marshall said, wearing the same get up he had during the dance but a black tux was on, too. His mask was white and it reminded Fionna of the Phantom of the Opera, except it covered the top of his face rather than half. He snarled a little at the name.

Fionna checked her name and smiled pleasantly. "Princess Hotbod, at your service," she said, grinning at Marshall.

"Hey! I want that one!" Marshall growled.

"Too bad!"

Cake looked over her invite and then frowned. "I'm Randy Butternubs. Oh, hell naw. That doesn't do well with me."

"So… who's our host, anyway?" Fionna asked as she sat down with Gumball on one of the couches.

"Nobody knows!" Gumball said ominously.

"Maybe she'll be a steaming hot babe with huge money," LSP said hopefully.

"Tut-tut, Leonard! What would your girlfriend Brandy say?" Gumball warned.

"Brandy and I broke up a long time ago, duh!" LSP said with a snarl.

"Now's my chance!" Marshall teased, leaning close to the purple haired boy. "LSP, I looooove you."

"No. Way," LSP hissed, everyone laughing.

"But I can make you happy," Marshall went on.

"Puke off!" LSP yelled, pushing Marshall away.

With a laugh, Marshall toppled over the arm of the couch and landed on his back. Still chuckling, he got to his feet and dusted off his pants.

"Excuse me, Guy Farting, there's an envelope on your back," Gumball said.

"Where?" Marshall said, twisting around, trying to get it.

"Here. Let me," Fionna said, getting up and taking it off of his back.

"Did you put that envelope on him?" Gumball asked the group.

"No," Cake said.

"No. I didn't do it, no," LSP said.

"No. Uh-uh," BMO added, shaking her head.

"What's it say, Princess Hotbod," Gumball said to his girlfriend.

Fionna's face heated up a little, thinking how she could get used to being called that by Gumball. She cleared her throat and read it out loud to everyone.

"'Esteemed guests, I am your host… I am a ghost,'" Fionna said, looking up from the letter.

Everyone gasped again and Cake grabbed BMO's arm, the two girls shaking with fear.

"'By the time you finish reading this, I will posses one of you and use your body to murder everyone in the house,'" Fionna continued reading. She wondered if a nineteen year old like Cake would believe such a ridiculous prank.

When she looked back up from the letter again, she saw how pale Cake looked. Apparently she did believe it. Still going smoothly. Time for Marshall to make his move.

"We gotta get the fuck out of here!" Marshall declared, looking genuinely freaked out as he checked around the room frantically.

"Marsh, wait!" Fionna cried as the raven haired boy made a run for it to the door. "It says anyone who will try to leave will die!"

"I am not dying tonight!" Marshall shouted, pulling at the door handle.

Lightning lit up the sky and the power went dead. Everyone held their breath and they stared into the darkness. The lights flickered back on and Marshall's dead body was lying on the ground, blood flowing from his mouth, his eyes wide open and staring. Fionna actually let out a genuine scream and she backed into the wall, trying to remind herself that it was fake… right!? Marshall was just playing to prank Cake.

Fionna breathed as she let LSP take the more dramatic shout.

"He's DEAD!" LSP wailed.

"Yeah, right," Cake said, crossing her arms and glaring at Fionna.

"Whad'ya mean 'year, right?'" Fionna demanded.

Cake got up from her seat and strode over to Marshall's body. She glanced down at it critically and kicked it a couple of times. Gumball winced a little but didn't say anything.

"Oh, c'mon. I pulled the same trick on your birthday way back when," Cake reminded Fionna. "I used a bunch of effects and stuff. To make you think everyone was dead. Are you trying to get me back after all these years?"

"It looks real to me," Gumball tried.

Cake blew a raspberry. "Classic move."

"Dude," Fionna said, pushing up her mask and put her hand on her chest. "I swear I'm not pranking you. Marshall is… dead." Her voice cracked a little and Cake saw the pain behind her eyes. She moved away from Marshall's body and went to console her sister.

"The question is… who killed him," Fionna said, closing her eyes and clenching her fist. "One of us is possessed by a murderer. The old legends are true about this house, like Marshall Lee said. And if we want to stay alive, we have to figure out who's hiding a ghost inside their mortal body."

The others exchanged suspiciously glances.

"BMO!" Fionna shouted suddenly, making everyone jump and BMO squeal a little. "Use that ghost detecting equipment you have to screen everyone."

BMO shuffled through her little purse and pulled out a device that looked like an old fashioned camera. She moved from person to person, taking pictures of everyone. LSP claimed he blinked, Gumball chuckled a little, and Cake gave her a blank expression. BMO narrowed her eyes at Cake and hummed.

"What?" Cake demanded.

"Nothing," BMO said, moving towards the other three.

"Did you see that?" whispered Fionna and Gumball in unison.

"Oh it was Cake I knew it, I knew it was Cake," LSP hissed with a wicked smirk.

BMO shook the polaroid pictures and looked them over.

"So who's the ghost, BMO?" Gumball asked her.

"Oh, um… I don't have ghost detecting equipment," she admitted, slipping the photos into her purse. "I just like taking nice pictures."

Cake walked over. "Let's find some candles. If the lights go out again, we'll be able to catch the murderer."

"Good idea!" Fionna agreed. She stole a glance over to Marshall, who gave her a small smile and a shadow of a wink. "Cake and BMO, you check downstairs and we'll take this floor."

"Okay… don't you two be swapping spit rather than looking," Cake said, walking to the basement door with BMO.

"Cake!" Fionna snapped, her face lighting up.

Cake and BMO walked down the basement stairs, BMO using her phone as s flashlight. Cake pursed her lips and picked at her nails, glancing at the teal haired girl beside her.

"Lay the truth on me, BMO, is Fionna pulling some elaborate prank on me?" Cake said.

"No, Cake. When bad things happen, I know you want to believe they are a joke," BMO said with a scholarly tone. She turned off her phone as they reached the landing. "But sometimes, life is scary and dark… That is why we must find the light…" She looked around the room, Cake in tow. "Aha!" She dug into a box with a bunch of glow sticks. "Found it!"

She handed Cake a stick and she took it with a smile.

"Ooh!" Cake laughed a little. "Thanks, BMO… BMO?"

Cake looked around and found that she was alone in the dim light of the stick. She whirled around, her eyes widening a little as terror struck her heart.

"Help!" she heard BMO cry from somewhere in the dark.

Something flew past Cake and she let out a whimper backing up and tripping over the steps. BMO's outline appeared in front of her, the girl's hands trying to reach out for Cake to grab.

"Cake, help!" BMO pleaded.

"BMO?" Cake said, breathless.

Two ghostly hands came up, snaking themselves around BMO's arms, pulling her into darkness, the video game lover screaming and fading into the darkness. All was silent until Cake felt something on her ankles. She let out an ear piercing scream and flew up the stairs to the main room.

"Oh my god! Oh my god!" she cried, scrambling out the door and tripping over her dress. "Assemble! Reassemble! Come on you guys! Stop doing it and come down here!"

Fionna and Gumball ran out from an upstairs room and met Cake at the bottom of the stairs.

"Where's BMO?" Fionna said.

"The ghost got her!" Cake trembled.

"Don't you mean you got her?" Fionna said accusingly, stepping forward and jabbing Cake in the chest. "Ghost!"

"Guys, if there really is a ghost killer, then we should stay in a group. He can't take us all on if we're in a group," Gumball reasoned.

LSP's shouting came from a room next to the sitting area, the three whipping their heads over to look towards it. Another shout from the boy and they all huddled together, their eyes widening and their bodies quaking. LSP continued to shout.

"LSP, are you okay?" Gumball said.

"I'm DYING!" LSP moaned.

There was silence for a heartbeat and then the sound of a toilet flushing. The other three stopped shivering and gaped at the door, their eyes narrowing as LSP sauntered out of the restroom.

"Oh my god…" he said with a smile of relief. The others sighed as he continued, rubbing his thighs. "Ugh, gross. My lumping body's all hollow now, I gotta put something in it."

He trekked into the dining room, the others following him inside. He looked around the table which was set for a large party of people. But no food was to be seen all across it, the plates empty and napkins folded. The room was relatively empty except for a wardrobe and a painting of men hunting foxes.

"So where's the food?" LSP demanded. "What kind of mansion is this? It's like a poor people's mansion! With no lumping waffles for my dump truck." He continued to mumble to himself as he stalked around the room as if food was going to appear out of no where.

"Chill out, boy," Cake told him. She turned to Fionna. "You find any candles upstairs?"

Fionna shook her head. "No."

"Well, I dropped a lighter downstairs, but there's no way in hell I'm going back for that," Cake said, crossing her arms.

"Uh-huh…" Fionna said, pulling out her invitation. "Let me remind ya'll that the invite says that the ghost will possess one of our bods."

"Not my bod," LSP said.

"Someone at this table isn't who they appear to be!" Cake said.

Fionna gave Cake a suspicious glance. "That's right, 'Cake,'" she agreed, putting air quotes around her sister's name. They got into each other's faces, brown eyes clashing with blue.

"So let me ask you a question only the real Cake could answer," Fionna said. "Who is always next to me in my recurring elevator dreams?"

"The half-orc shaman," Cake said with a knowing smile, crossing her arms.

"Okay, you're Cake," Fionna said with a convinced nod. "So, who else was absent when BMO got nabbed."

The two girls looked at LSP with raised eyebrows.

"Oh yeah, right!" LSP snapped. "I'm not the ghost. I was in the potty house."

"A convenient alibi… But tell me this-," Fionna began but Cake cut in.

"Why did you break up with Brandy? Only the real LSP would know that," Cake said.

"Shah! As if you even know the answer to that, Cake," he said, putting his hands on his hips.

Cake giggled. "You're right. I'm just feeling gossipy and I wanna know what happened."

"It's none of your lumping business!" LSP yelled at her.

"Sounds suspicious," Fionna said, pointing at Leonard. "I bet you're the ghost!"

"He did it! He's possessed! Tie him up!" Gumball shouted.

"Oh he is, huh?" Fionna said, turning on her boyfriend suddenly. Gumball raised his eyebrows at her as she leaned close to him, getting in his face. "Well, before we tie up LSP, answer me this…"

"Brandy, she kissed me on the mouth!" LSP cried out, stunning the others into a silence. "And I was like 'bleh-bleh-bleh,' and then I was like 'Uh, gorse. Go away, Brandy' and she was like 'obviously you're not ready for me' but what does that even mean you guys? W-what does it lumping mean?" LSP smacked his hands over his eyes and wept into them, whimpering and sniffling loudly.

A short awkward silence passed over them as they watched him lean against the wall like some immature fourteen year old who's never kissed anyone before. Cake furrowed her eyebrows with a confused stare but didn't say anything. Fionna returned to Gumball.

"But answer me this, Benson…" Fionna began again but-

"What do you want from me, Brandy!? You said I was the hottest guy in school, isn't that enough?!" he wailed, the rest coming out as gibberish. Cake face-palmed herself as another paused fell over the group. Fionna cleared her throat awkwardly and looked back into Gumball's face.

"What did I say to you the day we first met when we ran into each other? Word for word," Fionna said.

"Fionna, there's no way I would remember that," he told her flatly.

She looked a little downcast as she huffed. "I remember that," she said, pulling down her mask with pink in her cheeks.

"You're not Gumball! Tie you up!" Cake shouted with an accusing finger in Gumball's face.

LSP let out a dramatic gasp and Cake advanced on the princely boy.

"What! Wait, you guys!" Gumball tried to reason. His eyes darted around the room until they landed on the ceiling. "Look!" he cried.

The two girls looked up to see a ghostly being emerge from the ceiling. LSP shrieked and Fionna's eyes widened, her nails digging into her palms.

"A real ghost?" she gasped.

"Aah! Don't touch me!" LSP said, backing into the wall. "Don't touch me!"

The ghost flew around the room and Fionna squeezed her eyes shut, bracing her body. Cake gripped her sister's arm, making the blonde open her eyes again. Gumball was standing in from of them, his arms extended as if he were protecting them. Fionna couldn't see his face, her eyes staring into the back of his head.

"Stay away from them!" he commanded the ghost. Without hesitation, it shot through him and he melted. Fionna screamed again, tears stinging her eyes.

"This wasn't supposed to… ha-a-appen!" Fionna cried, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"Aha!" Cake said triumphantly. "I knew you were pranking me back!"

"Yeah… it was all a set up. The doors, Marshall Lee and BMO… Oh shit! They should be in the closet over there." She rushed over to the closet and pulled it open. "Guys! Guys, guys! C'mon you guuuu-."

The door swung open and revealed Marshall leaning against the back wall, his eyeballs rolled into the back of his head and face bloodied up, a knife jutting from his head. BMO was lying across the floor, her dress stained with blood and a few bullet wounds in her chest. Fionna screamed once again, and backed up, more tears running down her cheeks. Cake screamed, too, and LSP started to shout.

"Oh my god! I can't take this, you guys," he said, pulling out his cellphone. "I'm calling my lumping roommate right now!"

The lights shut off again, the room illuminated only by his phone. He screamed and stared to run.

"LSP! What's happening!" Fionna yelled after him, squinting through the inky darkness.

"Oh my god! I'm not ready! Get away!" LSP shouted as the ghost began to wrap itself around his pudgy body. "Oh gross!" He screamed again as the ghost engulfed him and vanished. The lights flickered back on, showing LSP in the painting from before, running alongside some foxes. Fionna and Cake were alone, staring at the painting in horror.

"I'm scared, sis," Cake whimpered.

Suddenly, ghostly demonic laughing boomed from above and the girls look up at the seining chandelier. The laughter fills the room and shakes their bones. Scared, the look towards the closet where Marshall's and BMO's dead bodies rested. A pool of what used to be Gumball lay at their feet. The ghost came out of the closet and glided towards them.

"RUN, GIRL, RUN!" Cake wailed.

They both split and ran back into the foyer. Fionna came to stop in front of the door and tried to yank it open.

"Open, damn you!" she shouted, kicking it with her heels.

"Don't do that, you'll scuff 'em up," Cake said, putting her hands on her hip.

"Now is not the time!" Fionna snarled. She tried to open the door again. "It won't open…"

The ghost shot into the foyer and started after them. It pushed them into one of the bannisters of the stairs and broke it, knocking them down. Fionna struggled up the stairs and called behind her.

"C'mon!" she said.

"Okay," Cake moaned groggily.

Fionna made it up to a door and threw it open, turning round to face her sister.

"Cake!" she coaxed frantically.

"Ow, ow, ow!" Cake whined, wiggling a piece of wood out of her finger. "I got a damn splinter." She picked it out and began to walk towards Fionna, who was dancing impatiently at the threshold. The ghost reached out and grabbed Cake around the waist, pulling her towards the ceiling.

"Cakie!" Fionna said, grabbing her sister's hands.

"Don't let go, girl!" Cake pleaded.

"Oh, no! You're lotion is making it hard to grasp!" Fionna cried desperately.

Cake's well lotioned hands slipped out of Fionna's hands and the brunette was sucked into the ceiling. Fionna fell backwards through the door and it shut behind her. She sat there for a few stunned seconds, her breathing ragged. None of this was supposed to happen. This wasn't according to plan! Mocro had set everything up with his AV buddies but there was no ghost in the idea! Her heart leapt into her throat as she thought about her friends, left dead in the dining room. Gumball… Marshall and BMO… poor LSP… and Cake. It was all her fault!

Fionna ripped her mask off and wept into her hand, her shoulders shaking. She had to make it out of here. Somehow…

A noise called her back into reality and she turned, seeing the wall behind her wobble. From the wall emerged a ghostly man, smiling and gliding toward her. She backed away in pure terror. She stumbled to her feet and picked up a char. She smashed it into the wall and then kicked it. She got her foot stuck and punched it hard, smashing through it in a panic.

In the next room, three holes bubbled from the floor and crows flew out of a painting and darted at Fionna. One of the holes then turned into a crack along the floor, which began to move like a biting mouth.

She ran up a spiral staircase into the mansion's observatory and looked through the window to see the school lit up with their annual Halloween party in the quad on one side. The other was all mountain scape that, if she managed to break through the dusty glass, she could run through the wilderness and get away. The first ghostly figured burst through the stairs and began to creep towards her.

Fionna covered her head with her arms, closing her eyes and crying out.

Suddenly, familiar laughter came from behind her. Her eyes flew open and she turned on her heel. A sheet fell from a stack of old suitcases to reveal Mocro and Cake. More laughter erupted and Marshall appeared, unharmed and clean. BMO followed, the same. Gumball emerged from behind them, unmelted and smiling. LSP was leaning agains the stack, looking thoughtful.

"Gotcha, girl! Two for two!" Cake said.

"What!?" Fionna roared, her fists clenching.

"I figured out your plan days ago," Cake told her. "So I flipped the script!"

"So everyone's okay…" she said, looking at her friends with relief.

"Yeah!" Cake said. "My babe was able to project the ghost stuff with his equipment, along with BMO's help, of course."

"I'm ready for you now, Brandy. Isn't it obvi? I'm so ready?" LSP whispered out, sliding down to the floor with his eyes closed.

"But… Gumball, you melted," Fionna said, rushing over to her boyfriend.

"It was a wax dummy, dummy," he said, brushing his hand through her hair. "Cake switched me out while Mocro was distracting you."

"Wow, thanks, Fi," Marshall said with a pout. "You don't care about me and BMO."

"No… I do," Fionna said, turning to him.

She fell silent, remembering how horrible she felt when she looked upon Marshall's dead body. How her heart felt like it had been torn out of her chest and stomped on. It was worse than watching Gumball melt… which was surprising to her since that should've bothered her more since she was dating the boy.

"I'm sorry," Fionna said. "Wow… you got me again," she said to Cake in awe. "I can't believe that! With the hair, and the house coming alive and stuff…"

Cake narrowed her eyes. "The what?"

"The walls and chairs trying to eat me and stuff," Fionna said.

"Eh, nah. You must have been so scared you imagined that part," Cake said, cocking her head to one side.

"Uh… no, I didn't."

"Nice try, Fi. Let's get outta here."

The group left the mansion, talking about how they could catch the end of the Halloween party by the time they got back. Fionna walked under an umbrella that was held by Gumball, still thinking about the horrific things she had seen in the house. Maybe Cake was right and she was just so freaked that she imagined all of that stuff. Either way, it was pretty crazy. She put a hand to her head and did what her mother once taught her to do, put the bad stuff in the vault and leave it there.

When it vanished from her thoughts, she was able to enjoy the rest of the walk down to the party.

Happy belated Halloween, guys. So, again, I'm really sorry about it being so late. But technology has its ways, right? Ha. More coming up.

I'm still accepting episode requests, line requests, and songs.

Again: I own absolutely nothing besides the plot.

Thank you guys for waiting and I'm looking forward to continuing Love Like This and Adventure Time with Fionna and Charlie.

See you next time!
