Chapter Three

Saeko could cry right now. She seriously could. She had managed to make it through the first part of class; her Japanese lesson, without too much trouble. But Kaoru; which was apparently Twin One's name, as Haruhi had once again informed her, was seriously getting on her last nerve. Every time Sae would get a text message from Mei; her best friend since preschool, Kaoru was right there leaning up against her shoulder to see who she was texting, what she was texting, etc. And it was seriously beginning to piss her off.

Of course, her automatic response to Twin One leaning on her was to scoot her chair as far away as possible from his and to tell him to back off, but that little snot would just grin before scooting even closer to her, if that was even possible; which it was, apparently. The boy was in her bubble...he was in her freaking bubble! Today was going to just drag on...she knew it.

After all, most people these days had the common decency to mind their own business. But this kid...this kid would just not leave her alone or let her be. Maybe it was a rich people sort of..thing or something? She did hear Haruhi complain once or twice about the rich people here at the school being rude and not knowing how to mind their own business. But it was mostly directed at the Host Club. Which actually, now that Saeko thought about it, made complete and total sense. So far it was really just the Hitachiin twin's that were getting under her skin. But, then again, she had yet to meet the rest of the other club members either.

Eventually, their Japanese lesson had ended and they went onto Science. And when that was done with, Ms. Ito was informing the class that they would be starting their Social Studies next. And this information just made Saeko's already foul mood worsen. They had just gotten through with Science, and now they were going onto Social Studies? Shoot me now...someone please, Saeko groaned into her hands. Social Studies was her most hated subject, with Science coming up in a close second.

Kaoru was once again leaning into Saeko's arm and she finally snapped. Without warning she quickly moved her seat a good half a foot away from Kaoru, causing him to nearly fall out of his seat. Which was a small victory in itself for her.

"Will you just back off already?" She hissed. "How hard is it for you to just leave me alone! I know that we have to share books today, and unfortunately for the rest of the week too but good god man, you're crossing the line!" She was practically seething in her seat at this point. Although seeing Kaoru nearly fall out of his seat had brought her the tiniest bit of satisfaction.

But Kaoru only snickered in response, as he calmly picked himself up from the ground before sitting and re-adjusting himself in his chair. Apparently, nearly having fallen out of a chair really didn't have much of an effect on the ginger...seeing as he still had a carefree yet mischievous expression etched on his face, that along with the fact that he was still eying the tiny phone in Saeko's hands as if nothing had even happened, the prick.

Saeko just rolled her eyes, and played around on her phone, deciding that it would be better for her heath and her sanity to just ignore the ginger haired twin. Of course, that's when her phone had decided to vibrate in her hands, effectively letting her know that she had received a text message along with scaring the crap out of her in the process. Thankfully, remembering where she was, Saeko managed to refrain from yelping, but she had still jumped a little in her seat from the sudden message, earning herself another snicker from Twin number One.

Fighting down a blush and the urge to pummel a certain snickering twin, Saeko unlocked her phone and quickly brought up her message.

(( Hey, what are your plans for after school, you busy? ))

As expected, it was from Mei once again. Sae quickly started to type her response. (( Not yet, I might have some homework but I'll do that tomorrow before it's due. Why? You wanna hang out? I thought that Yuki was sick? )) Sae pushed the 'send' button and then placed her phone down onto her lap. Mei would more than likely text her back in a few seconds, a few minutes at most. She would hopefully be ready for the text this time around though.

"Alright class," Ms. Ito stood up from her desk at the front of the room, quickly getting the class' attention. "Today I'm going to have you review chapters five and six in your Social Studies book, you'll have two worksheets to complete and also vocabulary. You'll have an hour to get this all done, whatever you don't finish will be homework, and we'll check the papers for tomorrow's lesson." She smiled before sitting back down at her desk. "You may go ahead and start now."

Yep, it was official. Today freaking sucked.

Saeko groaned, before letting her head fall down onto her desk with a thud, again.

"Um, Kaoru, is Saeko alright?" Sae heard her cousin whisper curiously. Apparently Haruhi had heard the thud and was curious as to how her cousin was faring. Which at this point wasn't too well. Then she heard Kaoru chuckle, "I don't think your cousin likes Social Studies very much Haruhi." There was a pause, and Saeko assumed that Haruhi was nodding to Kaoru's assumptions. "That would explain things. Sae-chan, it's only two work sheets and vocabulary. You'll live I promise. And after this lesson we have lunch."

Saeko perked up a bit upon hearing that news. She lifted her head up from her desk and looked over at Haruhi with hopeful eyes. "Really Haru-chan? I get to eat after this?" She looked up to the ceiling with big, hope filled and grateful eyes before stating, "There is a god."

"Eh..heh.." Haruhi shook her head at Saeko's reaction, while both twins watched on bemusedly. "Yes Saeko, you get to eat after this lesson."

Saeko's eyes lit up, her face still turned upwards to the ceiling. "Thank you."

Hikaru and Kaoru glanced at each other, then over to Saeko who was now happily texting away on her cell phone, oblivious to all. Then they shrugged and went back to their classwork, it was obvious to them that Haruhi's cousin was a very unique individual...with mood swings...who liked lunch time a lot more than most people...yeah. Enough said.

(( Apparently he feels better. But yeah, we just got the old Mario Party game for the 64 in the mail this afternoon, as Yuki has just informed me. You need to come over so we can all play it.~ ))

Saeko's grin widened as she let out a tiny squeal, earning herself not only curious looks from Haruhi and the twins but from a few of her fellow class mates as well. But she ignored them in favor of responding to Mei's text. (( Yes! Finally, it's about time! You guys only ordered it like, a month ago! I'll be over as soon as school's over! You guys better wait and not start without me! ))

Okay, the first half of Saeko's first day of school may have sucked epically, but once lunch came around she knew she'd be feeling much better. She liked all of the lessons she'd have after lunch. And of course, she liked lunch as well. She only had three more lessons to go, Math, Home EC, and then Art; her three favorite subjects.

And then from that point out, it would only be a matter of time until she was at Mei and Yuki's house, in a comfortable outfit change, munching on unhealthy amounts of buttery popcorn goodness whilst playing one of her favorite video games that she hadn't played since she was a kid. Not to mention, she would also be away from Ouran Academy and these rich people. And hello, she'd be with Yuki. Oh yes, things were definitely looking better.

Saeko was so engrossed with her happy thoughts, that she didn't even hear the bell ring signalling the end of her horrendously horrible History lesson from hell. Her younger cousin noticed of course, and after both Hikaru and Kaoru had left the classroom for lunch, Haruhi picked up her little boxed lunch, along with the other tiny boxed lunch that she had made for her cousin earlier that morning, before scooting over and into Kaoru's now empty seat.

Haruhi let out a sigh. The older girl was still engrossed with that cell phone of hers. And here Haruhi thought that she'd be excited that it was finally lunch time. Shaking her head, she leaned over to give her cousin's arm a few pokes. "Eh, Sae-chan?"

Jumping slightly from being poked, Saeko turned around, ready to slap a ginger when she finally noticed that in place of a twin sitting next to her, there was Haruhi. "Eh," she blinked, slowly taking note that all of the students had suddenly disappeared from the class room. "What's up Haruhi? And where did everybody go? I swear the classroom was full just a second ago..." She frowned. Seriously, the place was full just a moment ago...wasn't it? When did everybody leave?

Haruhi blinked at the question, a small frown tugging down at her lips as she studied her cousin's baffled expression. Had she really not seen the rest of the class leave? "Saeko, they left. It's lunch time, everyone left as soon as Ms. Ito dismissed them. Did you really not notice everyone leaving the classroom?"

Oh, Sae blinked. So that's where everyone had disappeared to. That would definitely explain why the classroom was so empty. And it also explained why the pressure that had practically been applied to her left arm for the past nearly three hours was suddenly gone too. Twin One and his equally as annoying Twin Two must have gotten up and left with the rest of their classmates for lunch as well.

Well, that was definitely a mood booster, make no mistake. Saeko would get to enjoy her lunch and her privacy. Even if it was only for a short hour. Saeko would relish those beautiful and endearing sixty minutes of peace and freedom from the Host Club's Wonder Twins. Ah, if only those two had had another class to attend to for the rest of the day, then Saeko would truly die from happiness.

"Heh," Sae turned to answer her cousin, "I guess I just wasn't paying attention."

The younger brunette gave her older cousin a dead panned look. "You seriously didn't notice everyone leaving?"

Saeko in turn just shrugged sheepishly, before holding her phone up for Haruhi to see. "In my defense, I was texting Mei..."

Ah, Haruhi nodded. Enough said. Haruhi knew from previous experience that her older cousin could easily become distracted and absorbed with her phone if she was talking to Mei, or to Mei's older brother and twin; Yuki. There had been times when she had had to quite literally pry the tiny cell phone out from Saeko's hands to get the older girl's attention, sad to say.

"Here, lets eat." Haruhi slid one of the tiny boxed lunches over and in front of Saeko. "Enjoy your break while you've got it."

"Oh, I will. Trust me."

Saeko may have only have had to deal with the twins for half a day and already she knew exactly what her younger cousin had meant. And how right Haruhi was. She was even willing to bet that Haruhi's favorite classes were her Debate and study period. After all, those two periods were Host Club and Hitachiin-free hours.

"So, twins aside, how is your first day going so far Sae-chan?"

"Eh," Saeko shrugged, plopping a spoonful of rice into her mouth before replying, "Not too bad I guess; Twins aside of course." She swallowed her bite of food before continuing, "I can't say that I genuinely like the first few lessons, but they should become a little bit more tolerable once my books finally come in and I won't have to share with Twin One any more."

Haruhi chuckled, nodding her head in agreement. "That should definitely help." She took a few bites of her own food and chewed slowly. Soon enough the twins would leave her older cousin alone. They were really only harassing her because she was new and because she was her cousin.

It was only a matter of time before they both became bored with her and left Saeko alone. Ha, Haruhi snorted. Saeko was at least lucky in that aspect. Haruhi herself was not quite so fortunate. With her being in the Host Club she wasn't bound to catch a break. Especially from the twins.

"Don't worry too much Saeko, Hikaru and Kaoru really aren't that bad." And they weren't...to a point. But, like said, they would leave her alone soon enough. "Besides, once your newness rubs off they'll leave you alone." She leaned over to give Sae a small pat on the arm and a small reassuring smile. "You'll see."

Her older cousin just snorted as she took another bite of her food. "For their sake, I hope you're right." But her threat just made the younger girl laugh.

After their conversation had died down, their lunch time and personal freedom came to a painfully fast end much to both of the girl's displeasure. Even their math lesson had seemed to fly by, because soon enough Haruhi was leading Saeko down to where the Home EC classroom was located with both twins trailing not too far behind them.

When they finally did make it to the Home EC room, Haruhi stopped and turned around to give both of the twins a stern look. "Okay you two, listen up. I need you both to make sure that Saeko gets to her Art class," she pointedly looked at Kaoru, "On time," then she directed the look over to Hikaru. "And in one piece, got it?"

Both of the twins just nodded, an annoying smirk plastered on each face.

This of course caused Haruhi to sigh and to shake her head. "I'm serious you guys, you know it's her first day. I don't want her getting lost because you two wouldn't show her the correct way to the art room. Saeko obviously doesn't know where she's going and just-" She let out another sigh, already frustrated with the two even though they had yet to do anything. The key word there being yet. "Please, for once just do what I ask of you, okay?"

At seeing both Kaoru and Hikaru's nod, Haruhi turned to face her cousin, who was standing as far away from both of the twins as was physically allotted, a frown clearly set on her face. She obviously was just as happy as Haruhi was about her new Chaperones.

"Saeko, I'm sure that you can ask someone from your art class where the third music room is." Haruhi sighed, running a small hand through her short brown locks. "I'd come and bring you myself but my Debate classroom is far enough as it is from the Club's room. And if I'm even a second late Kyoya-senpai will add even more to my debt; you understand, right?" She asked with pleading eyes.

Saeko sighed but nodded her head regardless. Of course she understood. "Don't worry about me, Haruhi. I'm sure I'll manage to find your club room somehow." She gave the younger girl a small smile. "I'll make it to your club as soon as I can, all right? Don't worry, kay?"

Haruhi nodded before turning to give the boys yet another pointed look, mentally sending them both the message not to mess with her cousin and to make sure that she got to her art class intact and on schedule.

To which Hikaru and Kaoru just rolled their eyes at and let out over dramatic sighs. "~Alright already, Haruhi. We get the message. Make sure that Saeko," they both jabbed a thumb over in Sae's direction. "~Gets to her Art class and in one piece. We get it, so you can stop giving us that look already.~"

Haruhi smiled at her small victory. "Good," she then gave her cousin another weak smile. "I'll see you in a little while, Saeko." She then chuckled before giving Saeko yet another light sympathy pat for the day. "Good luck, you're going to need it." Then with a departing wave, she was off and on her way to one of the quieter libraries for her study period, leaving Saeko alone with both Hikaru and Kaoru.

Saeko sighed, watching Haruhi walk away until she had rounded a corner and disappeared completely from view. At first, Saeko had been thrilled that she had gotten into the Home EC class, but now...she stole a quick peek up and over at the twins who both in turn smirked down evilly at her. Yeah...not so much anymore. Well, on a positive note, at least she got to ditch them the next period. Hey, she had to look forward to something after all.
