Author's Note: Most people do not know this because it's only mention once in the Devil May Cry: The Animated Series, but the city that Dante's hunting business is in is called Capulet City. It is taken from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet to continue on the Italian theme. It's implied to be similar to New York City, but with a bit of Italian flair.

When I wrote this it was before the anime series came out and I had used another name for the city. It was pretty generic name, so with this rewrite I updated that part and the rest of the story with new information. However, I did remember the fact that 66 Slum Avenue and 13th Avenue are in-game (Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening) locations in the city. Those locations contain the yet-to be named Dante's shop, Bull'sEye bar, and Love Planet.

Chapter 4

Gone Hay Wired Crazy

Yuu opened her eyes only to greeted with a night sky.

'Where am I? I don't feel dead,' she thought, feeling the cold ground, rough and gritty on her flesh. She sat up, wincing when several of her cuts protested in her quick movement. She looked around, noting that she was in an alley. 'Nothing looks familiar, but then again, it's not like I've been to all the alleys in the city.'

"Nirdesa? Larcrima?" she tentatively asked, hoping they were somewhere around.

Silence greeted her. She sighed, pulling her backpack off of her shoulders and placed it besides her. She stretched and sighed as her back snapped out the kinks. 'Seems like it's just me. I don't know what's more annoying, the pain from the scratches or the ache in my back from laying on the ground with my bag still on. Either way, I got to get up and figure out where the hell I am and what I should do next.

Yuu sighed, dragging herself up with the help of a brick wall and pulling her bag up on her shoulders again. She looked closely at the alley, the smell of urine, garbage and booze sneaked its way to her nose, making her frown in disgust. 'Well, it could have been worst, like waking up on a puddle of pee.'

She looked at herself, checking for anything out of place or missing. 'Everything is still here, besides the crowbar. I must have let go of it when…whatever that was happened? Or it could be here?' she thought, looking on the ground for it. She check under the dumpster, but just saw more garbage. 'I guess I lost it.'

Yuu leaned back up, carefully feeling the bruise on her head. 'It doesn't hurt anymore and the bump isn't that noticeable, at least from what I can tell through the band-aid, she thought, brushing the dirty off of her clothes. 'I feel filthy. Hopefully, there's still running water and people if I'm lucky.'

She walked out of the alleyway, scanning the street for any signs of life. 'There's still electricity here,' she thought, seeing that most of the lamp posts were shining brightly in the night, 'and I think I can hear cars in the distance, which means people!'

She smiled, relieved that she wasn't alone. She strolled the short distance to the street sign, hoping it would sound familiar. 'Barker street? No, I don't know it.'

She kept walking up the street, trying to get closer to the sound of life. Yuu knew she was in a city, but it looked nothing like any city she's been to. Everything looked rundown, dark and dangerous. She studied the buildings around her, feeling as though she had seen them before. 'Maybe in a movie?' she thought, eyeing the gothic architecture and details on most of the brownstones buildings.

As she walked pass the other streets, she noted that some of them were paved in stone bricks. But instead of modern street lights, they were square tubular street lamp. They gave off light, but it still left most of the area in darkness.

'This is either a rundown city or the rundown part of the city. Whichever it is, it's not a safe place to be, especially for a girl like me to be wondering around at night. It would have been faster and easier if I had my bike with me,' she thought in annoyance as her legs ached with each step.

"Wait, is that a person?" Yuu asked, squinting her eyes and she grinned when she realize that it is. She stared at the homeless old man with a shopping cart parked next to him. He was rummaging through the trash can and picking out aluminum cans to exchange for cash. 'I found someone and now I just need to muster the courage to talk to him. It would probably make him happy if I donate a bit of money. I could do with a bit of good karma anyway,' she thought, pulling out a few bills from her wallet.

"Excuse me, sir," she said, fidgeting with the money in her hands.

The old man jumped, clutching his chest in surprise and turned to her.

"Good lord! You scared the shit outta me."

He dropped his hand and picked up the can that slipped from the cart. "It's not everyday that I find someone who can sneak up on me. I think you've shaved off a few years off my life," he sighed.

"Sorry! I didn't want to bother you, but I'm completely lost."

"It's fine. You seem like a harmless girl, well, as harmless as anyone in this city can get. So, where is it that you want to get to?"

"Home, but I don't think it's in this city. I don't recognize anything."

"This is Capulet City, one of the biggest cities around."

"Capulet City? I haven't heard of it. The only Capulet that comes to mind is Juliet Capulet from Shakespeare."

"I don't know what you're talking about. But Capulet City is well known and practically everyone in the world has heard of it."

"I must be very far from home than because it doesn't ring a bell."

"How did you get into this city if you don't even know the name of it?"

"I don't know. I got separated from my friends and ended up here," Yuu said, "by the way, I know this sounds a little crazy, but have you seen or heard about little black creatures with yellow eyes? They're are about knee high, come out in the darkness and steal people hearts…or eat them," Yuu asked, curious. 'I wonder if they're here too?'

He raised an eyebrow.

"You're definitely not from around here if you think that sounds crazy. Things like that happen a lot in this city, probably more than others," he said, gesturing vaguely around him, "As for your little creatures, I haven't seen or heard of them."

"Oh, okay," Yuu replied, "It's a good thing that you haven't."

Yuu glanced at the night sky, frowning. "It's late and I don't want to take anymore of your time. Besides, I think I'll probably have better luck figuring things out in the morning. Do you know any cheap motels around?"

"You're close to 66 Slum Avenue and 13th Avenue. If you're looking for a drink BullsEye bar is a good place to go to. The barkeeper could call a cab for you and they can take you to the nearest motel. The same could be say about Love Planet, a strip club. Or you could just rent out a room there, but I don't think you'll be interested in that option."

"No, I wouldn't unless I have no other choice. But thank you so much for your help!" Yuu exclaimed, smiling.

"You're welcome. When you see a mansion, two churches and a graveyard than you'll know you're in the correct area. Just keep going down this street, turn right, then left and head down until you reach the intersection. You'll most likely be able to see the neon signs clearly, before the street signs come into view."

"Thanks again and this is for you," she said, handing the money in her hand to the old man.

"You've got a good heart and sadly that's rare these days. So be careful," he said, smiling and he returned to rummaging in the trash can, "and take care!"

Yuu followed the old man's instructions, reaching the area and already spotting the brightly colored neon signs. She passed by an alley, but something made a loud sound behind her. She paused, quickly looking behind her in surprised.

There was nothing directly behind her, but the alley was just a foot away from her. 'Either that was an animal or something else,' she thought, glancing towards the direction of the neon signs and then back to the alleyway. 'I really should just ignore it and keep going, because this how people get killed.'

Yuu walked back, just peeking her head into the alleyway's entrance. The first thing she noticed was a body crumpled on the ground with wires going somewhere above it. 'Please, don't tell me that's a dead body!' she thought, quickly pulling her head back and covering her mouth. 'Shit. I can't walk away from that now. What am I suppose to do?!

She peeked into the alley again, to see if there was anything else besides the face down body on the ground. They could just be a passed out drunk? But I don't think so. I don't see any breathing going on, and those wires make this whole scene suspicious. If they're really are dead then someone, most likely their killer went out of their way to string them up like a puppet. I'll call the police once I find someplace safe.'

It was still quiet and dark, and Yuu continued to feel the strange hair-raising sensation the longer she lingered. 'What if the killer is still around?! They could be watching me right now! That body hasn't been dead long enough to smell and that wire work probably took a bit of time to set up too. Shit.'

Yuu quickly backed up, grabbing her katana and looked around her. Before she could even walked towards the neon signs, the ground tremble. 'An earthquake?!' she thought, holding herself steady against the brick wall, while her other hand gripped her weapon tightly.

They was a screeching noise and it was difficult to decipher where it was coming from. She didn't dare to move her back from the wall, until the ground stopped. She noticed that the body on the ground went missing, but the wires that were attached to it were still hovering above the spot.

The screeching and the shaking stopped once a deep crack on the ground appeared. The air felt heavy and unnatural around it. A dark purple shadow rose from it like fumes, turning into a solid mass. It was the body on the ground from earlier. It didn't look the same as before. It's clothing seem old-fashion and jester like. The body hovered in the air, the wires reattached themselves to it by an unseen force.

Yuu was so focus on the one that appeared first, that she almost didn't notice the second copy behind it. They shifted, swaying side to side like puppets. A few more appeared behind the two. She slowly slid around the corner, hoping that the creatures hadn't noticed her. She winched, when the litter on the ground crunch beneath her shoes. The sound alerted the creatures and they lifted their heads up. They looked at her with their lifeless eyes and their malicious intent became clear when they manifested weapons in their hands.

Yuu's face twisted in fear. They look like medieval puppets wearing red and carrying shotguns, crescent blades and daggers. 'Marionettes…' Yuu thought, 'that's what I'll call them. Shit, focus! I'm outnumbered so I gotta get out of here.'

Yuu took off, running for her life towards the closest neon sign. The Marionettes followed behind her, screeching in anger. As best as she could while running, she dodge the bullets and the other flying weapons thrown at her. A few times she got hit by the blades, but it was nothing serious, only minor scratches were left behind. However, it was difficult for her to dodge since they kept spinning behind her. But what worry her the most were the bullets, which where harder to avoid. Thankfully, it seem the guns were old fashion, which required some time for the creatures to reload. She didn't need to take cover for to long or else they would have swarmed her.

The neon sign was closer then before. 'I'm almost there. Just a little more,' she thought, sweat dripping down her flushed face. Her legs, sides and throat were burning from the strain, but she continued to push herself.

She nearly collapse to the ground, as she reached the building with the flickering neon sign. She held onto the wall, looking behind her to see if the Marionette creatures were still following her. 'What the hell? They're gone!' she thought, frowning. 'Maybe I lost them when I cross over to the block with the church and the graveyard?'

Taking a better look at her surroundings she looked at the bright neon sign above her. 'A Pawn Shop?' she thought, looking at the door to see if they're still open. The sign at the door was flipped to closed and suddenly the neon sign shut off, leaving her in the dark. She pushed away from the wall, going to the next neon sign, taking note that she did run a bit far but thankfully in the right direction.

The sign she sees up ahead is blurry, but she can make out the glowing words Love Planet on it the closer she gets to the building. The street was also becoming more alive with noise reaching her ears. Listening closely, it was pop music that could be heard. 'There's got to be people around if there's music, especially in a place like that,' Yuu thought, slowing down as she reach an intersection.

There were some people walking around, but she wasn't too surprise that they weren't ordinary everyday people. The nightlife tends to bring out the weirdos and not all of them were good. Most were the wicked, others the sinful, a few the hopeless and others the lost and forgotten. A few of them were even homeless. A bundle up man was sitting against the brick walls with a sign and begging for change. Another was under a cardboard box next to a garbage can. The other one was a bit further away under something metal, like an old roof shield.

There were even a couple of women wearing costumes in front of a place called Love Planet. They lingered around the double doors talking to one another and smiling whenever a man passed by. There seem to be more people inside and the loud music switch to something danceable. '…so this must be the strip club. I am so not going anywhere near or inside it,' she thought, staring inside the window as she got closer. She cringed disgustedly at the chubby old man she spotted inside, sitting at a table and surrounded by women in sexy animal theme costumes. 'That is why. I have nothing against the woman who work here. I actually admire their strength to do this. It's the creeps and sleaze bags that places like these attract that I want to avoid.'

Looking away Yuu came to a stop at the corner of the street, spotting a woman in an alley. The red headed woman was leaning against the building smoking. At first Yuu thought she may be taking a smoke break, but she doesn't look like she's apart of Love Planet. Unlike the other woman she's not wearing a costumes. Instead it's a long leopard print wrapped dress with a deep v-neck. She's pretty, but her makeup is very heavy and exaggerated. She might be a club goer, but there isn't any clubs nearby from what Yuu can see. 'She might be offering other things that Love Planet won't allow,' Yuu thought. 'After all, what other reason would a woman dress like that be hanging around a strip club? Especially all alone at night?'

Yuu was about to walk towards the woman until one of those puppet creatures appeared besides her.

"Watch out!" Yuu yelled, but it was too late.

The creature lifted its dagger, stabbing her in the throat. The cigarette dropped from her hand to the ground, while blood pour out of her mouth and wound. She weakly grabs onto her neck as the creature pulls its weapon from her and she drops to the ground in shock. In that moment another unsuspecting woman appeared from the other side of the street, calling out what Yuu assume was the other woman's name.

"Stop!" Yuu exclaimed, as she pulled out her katana and lifted it up to her shoulder as she ran towards the women.

The woman turned around and was about to scream when she saw her, but Yuu pushed her out of the way, knocking the air out of her. The creature moved quickly towards the new comer. Just as it was about to swing its dagger onto the woman Yuu blocked it. And with a sudden burst of energy Yuu twirled her sword around the dagger, managing to knocked it out of its bony hand.

The dagger dropped to the ground. Yuu quickly kicked it out of reach. While she did that her eyes focused on the creature's other hand. She pull back, building up force as she swung at it. The hand broke off, still holding onto the blade as it fell to the ground. The last thing she did was cut the wires holding the puppet up and knocked its head off.

The body and the head crumple to the ground and she hurriedly kicked the head in. She kept at it, smashing it to a point where it was unrecognizable. She stopped, once its body began to turn to dust and it's weapons vanished. 'I'm so tired. I can hardly hold myself up anymore,' she thought, leaning against the wall and breathing heavily.

"Hey, um, thank you. I…I would have been dead if you weren't here to save me.''

Yuu turned around to see the woman that she had knocked down. She was standing, dusting off the dirt from her cat theme lingerie.

"No problem," Yuu said, putting her katana away.

Yuu weakly straggled into the alley to see if the other woman was still alive. 'Is it too late?' she thought, leaning down to check her pulse. She didn't need to because it was clear that the woman was dead, but she wanted to make sure. The woman's dead eyes were staring blankly into nothing, and there was a puddle of blood staining the pavement. 'I wasn't fast enough. She lost too much blood while I was dealing with the puppet creature.'

The other woman, gasped. "She's dead, isn't she?"

Yuu nodded, standing back up. She grimaced, feeling the strain on her tired muscles.

"Let me help you dear," the woman said, taking a hold of her arm and putting it over her shoulder. She wrapped her other arm around Yuu's waist and led her Love Planet.

"What about the dead woman? Shouldn't you be panicking and running to the phone to call the police? Or crying in loss, in shock or something?" Yuu asked, curious as to why the woman was mostly calm.

"If she was someone I knew I would be doing just that. We kept warning her that it was dangerous and I don't mean just her occupation. We offer her a place with us, but she vehemently refused it and ignored our warnings. We tried, but in the end you can't force help on someone who doesn't want it. So we stopped, and each of us took turns to shoo her away because she was also bad for business," she said, shaking her head.

"Oh, that's…" Yuu paused, unsure what to say.

"It's alright. I can tell you're not from around here. The people in this city tend to be use to weird things. Some of us have even become desensitized to violence and death because it's gotten to be pretty common lately."

"That obvious, huh?" Yuu said. "Is it that different here?"

"Well, those that work at night know the real danger in the darkness. It's only at night that all the crazy shit happens. But it's also this area because it's not exactly the Versace District," she said and noticing Yuu's expression she clarified. "That's the rich folks area."

"Is there no safe place?"

"Not really. But we're pretty safe when the sun is out. I haven't heard anyone being attack in the middle of the day," she said, shrugging. "If you can't avoid it, stick to well-lite or populated places. Being in a group helps too."

"This city is weird," Yuu said, thinking out loud.

"Yup," she said, bringing her to the side entrance of the building. "If you live here long enough you'll get use to it."

She opened the door, pulling Yuu inside and locked it behind her.

"Here we go," she said, helping her over to an empty table that was close to the door. "Wait here. I'm going to get you some things for those cuts and tell Cinnamon about what happen. She'll report it to the boss and they'll deal with the woman in the alley."

Yuu nodded and set her bag on the floor as the woman smiled at her before walking away. Leaning forward Yuu place her head on top of her arms on the table. Her eyes scanned the area and her eyebrow twitch at how familiar the environment looked. 'This place reminds me of something! It feels like I have the answer at the tip of my tongue, but every time I try to force it out it fades further away from my mind. Why does everything seem familiar like I seen it before? It's starting to annoy me. Whatever it is, I'm not going to figure it out if I keep forcing myself to remember,' she thought.

She looked over to her left and saw that a couple of women lingered close to the entrance, posing and beckoning people passing by to come inside. Others were escorting a few, mostly men, inside and leading them to the bar. Nearly all the women worn animal theme outfits, all of which were tight and revealing. Across the room was a large stage area. Colorful lights were flashing and loud music was coming from that direction. From what she can see women were dancing against a pole, barely covered and there seem to be a few tables cover in drinks and food. A couple of people were sitting and watching the show. All in all, this place certainly looked fancy and surprisingly clean then she expected for a strip club.

Yuu could tell there was another level to the building since she notice the staircase as soon as she came in. 'I'm not sure I want to know what's up there,' she thought, turning her head when she heard footsteps.

The woman appeared again, holding a tray of food, water and a small first aid kit.

"I hope you like the food and the ice tea. I also got the first aid kit to treat the starches you got," she said, placing the plate of food and water near her head.

Yuu raised her head and grabbed the plate and glass in front of her. The woman handed the knife and fork to her while she sat down on a chair next to her. Yuu cut up some pieces and place them in her mouth. 'I never asked for her name. I might as well ask her now,' she thought, chewing.

"What's your name?" she asked, once her mouth was clear of food.

"You can call me Kitty," she said, clapping her hands together and smiling more cheerfully. 'I should have guessed,' Yuu thought, almost slapping herself.

"That's not really your name," she stated.

"Of course not. It's just a stage name. It helps to protect us girls from weirdoes that want to find us outside of work."

"Oh, okay."

"Sorry. I know you saved my life, but–"

"No. I get it," Yuu interrupted, not upset at getting her real name.

While Yuu ate the rest of her food Kitty worked on cleaning her small wounds and putting band-aids on them. 'She's a nice girl, but seriously I don't need this many,' she thought, looking at her heavily band-aid covered hand.

Yuu told her not to worry about covering them all, but she gave up on trying to convince her. 'Great. I'm officially covered in cat and gun printed band-aids. I'm sure that I look ridiculous.'

At last Kitty put away the box of band-aids and sat down next to her. Yuu finish her food and lean back on her chair. "Thank you. The meal was great and I appreciate your helpfulness."

"It's the least I could do for you since you did save me from death!" Kitty exclaimed.

"There's something I've been wondering," Yuu said, pushing the empty plate away from her. "Have you seen small creatures made of darkness with yellow eyes? Or heard of them?"

Kitty bit her lip in thought. "No, I don't think so. That's not the type of creatures we see around here."

"So you get a lot of those puppet things?"

"Those are the most common. But I heard stories of other things much worst that lurks in the dark."

"Worst?" Yuu asked, concerned.

"Oh, you don't have to worry about that," Kitty said, waving her hand in the air. "Dante deals with that before any of us have to ever find out what it is. But that's not to say he doesn't deal with the Marionettes too. It's just that tonight, one of them took advantage of him being away on some other business."

"Who's Dante?"

"He's our local Devil Hunter. He actually has a business nearby and occasionally he pays us a visit. If you got questions or a Devil problem he's the person to go to."

"That's good to know. Well, I better go and find a place to crash," Yuu said, getting up and grabbing her bag. "It's super late and I'm exhausted."

"Wait! It's not safe to wonder around tonight. You should stay here until morning comes," Kitty said, getting up to stop Yuu.

''Uh, no offense but this place makes me uncomfortable," she said, wrenching her nose in disgust at the thought of sleeping here, especially on the beds.

"Okay, not here than," Kitty laughed.

"You know any other place that has cheap rent? It doesn't have be an apartment, a room could work too. I just don't have enough money at the moment, so I understand that my options aren't going to be that great," Yuu asked.

"I might know someone that could find you a cheap room to rent for a few nights or an apartment if you're very lucky," she said, tapping her lip in thought. "I could also ask around the girls to see if any of them are looking for a roommate."

"Sure, it doesn't hurt to ask. I just need somewhere to stay until I can get enough money for my own place," Yuu yawning, her eyes getting heavy. "I would also need to get a job to do that. But I need to focus on one thing at a time." 'Then I can start looking for my friends and family. Maybe I can find a way to get back home?' she thought.

Kitty laughed, "We're always looking for people here."

"No. Unless there are other positions that don't have me taking my clothes off or interacting with the customers."

"You don't have to be one of the dancers or waitresses. You could work in the back as one of the cooks if you know the basics. But I think there may be an opening for a housekeeper or a custodian. If you're not too against talking you could also be a bartender, especially if you've got the experience or a certificate for it."

"I may consider that," Yuu said. "If I can't find any other place to work at. I suppose working as a cook or a cleaner might not be too bad. At least I won't have to dress in a lingerie costume or talk to people."

"Okay," Kitty said, nodding her head. She raised her finger, motioning that she'll be back in a few seconds and quickly left the room. She returned, holding a pen and a little server notepad. She ripped out a sheet and flipped it over to the back. "I'll ask the girls if they're looking for a roommate. But you're gonna need a place to stay for tonight, since it is a bit last minute for them to accept without a heads up first. So, you're gonna to need to talk to this man. I would have let you stay with me but I'm already sharing a place."

She handed Yuu the paper.

"If you need any help you can find me here. Just ask for Kitty, but I also wrote down my phone number."

"Thanks again. You've been a big help. You're like the only thing that has made my day not suck as much. So really thanks," Yuu said, smiling.

"You're sweet, but you don't need to thank me. You helped me and it's only fair that I helped you too," she said happily and giving a her a gentle half hug. 'In a city like this I doubt everyone is as helpful as she and that old man is,' Yuu thought, returning the hug. 'I've been lucky so far.'

"I better talk to this guy then. I'm getting sleepy and leaving sooner would mean less time wasted on not sleeping," Yuu said, holding back another yawn.

"Are you sure I can't convince you to stay here for the night? I could get you a discount if you're worry about the price," she asked, concerned. "Besides, it's still not safe to be wondering around so late."

"That's tempting, but I may need something stable if it turns out that no one is looking for a roommate."

"Alright, well, I better get back to work. Please come back and visit me. I won't mind you popping in once in a while," Kitty said, sighing as she turned to look at the stage area.

"I will. You're the first friend that I've made since I've gotten to this place," Yuu said, placing her hand on her shoulder and squeezing lightly.

"If we're friends you better call me then," she said, pulling Yuu into another hug. "Not to just let me know that you're okay, but how else will you learn my real name?"

"I will," Yuu replied, smiling.

Kitty pulled away and started walking backwards. "You better!"

Once Kitty disappear from her sight Yuu looked at the paper she gave her. On it contain directions and a name with a description of what the guy looked like. The first set of instructions showed her where to go to find the guy that could help her. 'His name is Enzo. He's a short and chubby Italian man,' Yuu mentally read to herself. 'He's usually at Love Planet, so check there first, but if not go here instead…'

Luck would have it that a man befitting Kitty's description of Enzo came through the entrance as Yuu looked up. With an armful of woman hanging on to him, they escort him towards the bar. 'Could that be him?'

"Hey you!" she called out, walking up to him.

He looked up at her and smiled lucidly. "Another lovely lady! You're a bit young though. And I haven't seen you before. Are you new?"

"No. I have nothing to do with this establishment. I heard that you're the guy to go to when someone has a problem. Mine is that I need a place to crash for a bit," she asked, ignoring his assumption of being one of the dancers.

He sighed in annoyance and turned his attention back to a woman's bosom that he was eyeing earlier. "I'm a bit busy at the moment just come back later."

"Unfortunately, I've got all the time in the world to pester you. I can essentially ruin your entire night just because you couldn't bother to spare a few minutes to talk to me," she said, glaring.

"Fine. What do you want?" he replied, grabbing a drink as one of the woman pass it to him.

"I need a place to stay. Something cheap and only for a short while. Maybe a week or two?"

He took a long gulp from his drink, thinking. "Why don't you stay at here? It's $85 per night."

"No. Absolutely not."

He frowned, giving her a full body look and lingering at the weapons strapped to her.

"Who referred you to me?"

"Kitty. She said you could help me."

"Hm, I do like her. Okay. I know someone who has a spare room and won't mind a pretty girl like you staying with them. That's if you don't have a problem living with a guy," he said, squeezing an woman's breast. With a sweet smile on her face, the woman he grope slapped his hand off and pinch his cheek in retaliation. He winched, but gave her a lecherous smirk as he patted his cheek.

"No. But if he's an asshole I'm not gonna stay there. And I will stab him if he tries anything," Yuu said, her hand grazing the tanto on her belt.

Enzo turned his attention back to her. "If it helps, he is often away for business. Sometimes it's for a few days and other times it's a week or two. So you'll mostly be on your own. "

"I see, go on."

"If it's just a room it'll be $70 per week. If you decide to stay longer it'll be $450 per month which includes your share of the utilities."

Yuu pursed her lips, wondering if it's a good deal or not. She did like the thought of having to pay only $10 a day for the week just for a room to stay in. But she would have to find other means to shower, eat and so on if having access to the utilities aren't included. Seeing her face, Enzo sighed and looked away.

"Fine. If I consider the location, the building's physical state and whatever mess might be of the spare bedroom. I'll lower it down to $50 per week for the room alone. That's a pretty good deal. But you'll be paying that only for the first week. If you decide to stay long, we'll have to discuss a new price that we can both agree on," he said, leaning to side to dig into his back pocket for the key.

"So $50 right now and I'll get the key," she asked, pulling off her backpack.

"Yes," he said, holding out the key.

Yuu nodded and opened her bag. She pulled out the amount of money he asked for and double check how much she had left. 'I need to get a job first thing in the morning,' she thought. 'Not everyone is gonna take pity on me.'

She handed over the money and he gave her the key. He counted the amount and shove it into his wallet. "I'll come by tomorrow with the paper for you to sign for the week. If you decide to stay longer I'll come back again, before the end of that week with another set of papers."

"Could you give me directions too? This city is pretty new to me," Yuu asked, placing the key into her pocket.

"Yeah, yeah. Hey lovely! Can I borrow that?" he said, grabbing a notepad and pen from one of the servers. He wrote the information down, giving it another look to make sure it was clear and easy to follow.

"Thank you," he said tearing the paper out and passing the items back to the woman. He passed the paper over and Yuu was relieved to see that his handwriting is neat. "It's not that far, but if you do get lost just come back."

"Thanks. I better go and leave you to your…activity," Yuu said, walking away and giving a two finger wave goodbye just before she exited out of the building. 'Let's see, his directions are easy to follow. I have to go left from here, keep going straight until I reach the intersection and cross the street to the right side. Than keep going until I reach the next right turn,' she thought, following the instructions as she walked. 'Hopefully I won't get attack on my way there.'

She looked up from the paper and before her stood the place where she would be calling her temporary home. 'It's…old and looks a bit rundown,' she thought, staring at the building. 'Maybe the inside is better than the outside look?'

It was a tall brick building with two steps leading to large double wooden doors for an entrance. At each side of the doors contain tall windows with decorative iron bars protecting them. The most eye catching aspect of the building was the pink neon sign glowing above the doors in fancy font, Devil May Cry.

Yuu walked closer to the building and notice that it looked more sturdy than she first thought. 'This isn't just any old apartment building, is it?' she thought, eyeing the sign. She climbed the steps, grabbing the door's handle and pulled. She was surprised that it opened and that she didn't need to use the key, unless it's for the spare room.

She entered the building cautiously and shut the door behind her as she walked further inside. It was quiet, only the sound of her shoes echoed on the dusty wood floor and she was alone. The first thing she noticed was how dusty it was and the poor condition the place is in. Pieces of the ceiling seem to have crumbled onto the floor and a couple of cracks ran up along the off-white walls. She saw a coat rack next to a door and at the back of the room sat a wooden desk.

There were some bottles on the ground and tucked into the side of the room was a red leather couch. Next to that couch was a refrigerator with two bottles on top of it and a small table at the other side of it. When she walked closer to the desk she saw a large dead looking animal mounted on the wall behind it. Speaking of the desk there was a picture frame face down on the desk, a phone, an open pizza box with some pizza still inside it, which was half eaten. Then a gun with some bullets scattered around it. Behind the desk was a board with two swords and two guns mounted on the wall.

'This is probably why Enzo didn't ask for a security deposit, because you can't damage a place if it's already messed up to begin with,' she thought, spotting a jukebox, then a broken pool table leaning against the other side of the wall. Some of the balls were scattered on the floor and there was a staircase on the right side of the wall. 'The first floor must be the business area, while upstairs contains the bedrooms. I think?'

"Hello?" she asked, as she walked by another large window and over some empty bottles on the floor. 'The door was unlocked and that pizza still looked fresh to me. So someone has to be here somewhere,' she thought, climbing up the stairs. 'This place is a mess and it's falling apart.'

When she got to the top of the stairs she saw some smaller windows, a barrel, and…whatever that was, and a couple of other things. 'This doesn't have another set of stairs. Maybe I went the wrong way? Was I supposed to use one of those doors downstairs to find my room?' she thought as she looked down over the banister to see the whole area below.

She climbed down the stairs and went to the door next the coat rack. She opened it and unable to see anything she searched the wall besides her for the light switch. Inside the room was a messily made bed, a bed side table with a small lamp and a half opened closet with clothes in it. She sighed and turn off the lights and closed the door. 'That must be where my roommate is staying at.'

She went to the other door and opened that one. It was the bathroom and that wasn't what she was looking for. 'Enzo said that there was a spare bedroom that I could stay in. Did I missed a door upstairs than?' she thought, heading the couch. 'Maybe I should wait for the guy that lives here? I could have gotten the wrong place or it's not here that I'm staying at. Or Enzo lied to me…'

She plopped onto the couch and used her bag as a pillow. 'In the mean time I'm gonna take a little nap until the guy gets back from wherever he is,' she thought, groaning as she stretched her legs out and shifted the weapons aside to be more comfortable. 'This day has been crazy. I thought I've gone crazy too. It all started because of those yellow eye creature. I wonder what the hell is going on. And what happen to the those Marionette creatures that were chasing me? They just vanish when I reached Love Planet.'

She sighed, closing her eyes. 'It doesn't matter. I've got to focus on one thing at a time, like getting a job and maybe some answers about this place,' with that last thought she fell exhaustively into a dreamless sleep.
