Hello! Okay, so it's been a very, very, very long time since I've updated but I've been super busy with it being the last year in college and I have to start applying for university. I have literally no time to write at and it took my forever just to find the moments to write this. But, let's look on the bright side :) It's going to be Christmas soon which means holidays which will lead to me updating non-stop. Once college starts back in January, I have no idea when I will be updating anything (my mum is literally going to ban me from using the laptop once I start back in college but I will try to sneak a few hours to write hopefully) Anyway, enough rambling from me... here is the third chapter of Scarlet Destiny!

Disclaimer: I own nothing of Fairy Tail.

Wendy couldn't help but giggle at Happy's enthusiasm as he flew around her, Carla and Lily with a fish twice the size of his body in his arms.

"I can't wait to show Natsu and the others this massive fish. Natsu's going to be so happy and than we going to eat it, raw of course because it tastes the best that way and it's going to taste so yummy. Um...fish..." the rest of the sentence was lost as drool stats to come from the corner of his mouth and his eyes have a dazed look as Happy runs off with his imagination.

Carla made a tutting sound as she whipped her head from Happy and raised her chin a little. Lily was walking slowly a small depressed look on his face. He did kind of miss Gajeel but he would never admit that, well not in this life. Wendy couldn't help but let out another giggle as she looked at her three cat friends. The four of them were coming back from a mission that they had taken on last week. It wasn't a difficult mission. All they had to do was help a man hunt for fresh food for his shop in the woods. They had easily managed to finish the mission within two days and would have come earlier if the man hadn't asked them to help him start-up his shop for extra money.

"I'm sure Natsu-kun will like it very much." Wendy said softly. They were nearing the guild by now. She could almost imagine the look on Natsu's face, his eyes turning into stars because of the fish. She missed Fairy Tail a lot. They were fun and loving. They had helped her a lot when she had lost her earlier guild.

Happy made a humming sound before he flew even higher so he was faced-to-faced with Wendy.

"I can't wait for Lucy to see this fish. She's going to be happy too." Happy rambled on.

Wendy couldn't help but sweat drop at that. She didn't actually think Lucy would be ecstatic at the fish seeing as how she had acted lately. But, Wendy was way too nice to say that. Carla on the other hand...

"Lucy wouldn't want that fish. It's not all that nice." Carla bit back.

"Aye. Wendy," Happy whispered near her ear "do you think Carla is jealous because she doesn't have a fish from me?"

Before Wendy can answer Happy flew down next to Carla and shouted happily,

"Don't be jealous Carla. I will catch you a fish even bigger than this one and we can eat together!"

A tick mark was on Carla's head and she again whipped her head away from Happy.

"Maybe Lucy might like Happy's fish. She has been quite sad lately." Lily mumbled as he kicked a pebble out of his path.

A sudden silent fell upon the four of them. They knew that Lucy was behaving strangely lately. And, it was to do with how she had been left out of Team Natsu more than once. Wendy knew she and the exceeds were the only people who knew how depressed Lucy had gotten. No one would really talk to her like before. The change in all this happened when Lisanna returned. It wasn't bad that she didn't die but they had left Lucy for Lisanna. Wendy couldn't understand why Natsu and the others couldn't include Lucy and Lisanna at the same time.

Wendy couldn't say anything about this though. She had tried to at the beginning when she started to notice that Lucy was being left out but someone would always interrupt when she tried to get it out so she stopped all together for the time being. Now, Wendy, Happy, Carla and Lily seemed to be the only people to really talk to Lucy.

"Don't worry. When we get back, I will tell Natsu, Grey and Erza what Lucy is feeling so they can work it out and Lucy won't feel lonely anymore." Wendy announced at the same time she smacked her right hand that was in a fist into her left hands palm. She was really hoping she had enough courage to actually do it.

Finally, they arrived at the guild, the big building with the Fairy Tail logo on the front, and they opened the door to enter their home. At once Wendy knew something was wrong. Rhetorically, everything looked fine. The guild members were cheering and laughing with each other getting drunk. Some guild members were in a fight at one side of the bar yelling loudly in either pain or happiness.

Natsu, Grey, Erza and Lisanna were on the table near the mission board talking with each other. Natsu was laughing along with Grey and Lisanna and Erza was smirking. Once Wendy's eyes landed on Lisanna she realized what was missing. Her eyes quickly scanned the room trying to prove her earlier thought wrong. She wasn't wrong. Lucy wasn't anywhere to be seen. Where was Lucy? Was she on a mission? Wendy thought absently. She did remember that Lucy had gone on solo missions to pay for her rents.

Before Wendy can voice out her thoughts, Happy flew across the room towards Natsu like a rocket.

"Natsu!" he shouted as he launched himself on his best friend.

"Happy!" Natsu shouted back with equal emotion hugging his friend to his chest.

"Look Natsu, Look! Isn't this fish massive aye?" Happy said waving the fish he was carrying in Natsu's face.

Just like Wendy predicted, Natsu's eyes widened to an unnatural proportion before a big grin spread across his face.

"Wow Happy! That is the biggest fish I've ever seen. Shall I grill? Because I am starving now!" and as if he had to prove his point Natsu's stomach growled loudly.

Wendy along with Carla (Lily had wandered off to go find Gajeel) were now near the table enough to hear Grey mutter that Natsu and Happy were idiots. Before, Natsu can reply (by a punch followed by a kick) Happy shouted out,

"No you can't! If you grill it then it takes all the flavour away. It tastes so much better raw. But, first I have to show Lucy the fish before I eat it. She'll be so happy!"

And, like a switch was flip the atmosphere in the guild changed. The laughter stopped instantly. The fight that was going on dispersed the second Lucy's name was spoken. Natsu, Grey, Lisanna and even Erza seemed to be frozen to the spot, not moving, not even blinking. Wendy felt a dead weight set in her stomach. Why did everything changed to suddenly?

"Lucy's not here Happy." Natsu said slowly each syllable seemed to be forced from his mouth.

"What do you mean Lucy's not here? Where could she have gone?" Carla asked a frown upon her face.

"I mean she's gone okay." Natsu said his voice a smidge louder than before.

"Oh. When will she be back Natsu?" Happy asked not in that joyful mood he was in before.

"She won't be back Happy." Grey said suddenly his gaze was unusually expressionless.

"What do you mean by that?" Wendy blurted out before she could speak anymore.

Natsu let out a frustrated sigh before shouting,

"Lucy's gone. She is never coming back. She was kicked out of the guild!"

Wendy felt like all her thoughts were zapped away. She couldn't think. She couldn't speak. Hell, she wasn't even sure she could even breath. Lucy was kicked out of the guild? How? How was that even possible?

"W-what? N-Natsu what are you saying? Lucy can't be kicked out of the guild! She can't be." Happy shouted back, his eyes held a look of betrayal on them. The fish had dropped from his paws at the declaration made by Natsu and was now long forgotten.

"She has been kicked out of the guild. She did something unforgivable. She killed one of our teammates. One of our guild members. One of our friends. Lucy killed Elfman and for that she had to be punished." Erza said calmly.

A sob rang through the hall after Erza had finished her sentence. It's origins was a tear-ridden Mirajane who was shaking like a leaf. Her hands covered her face as her shoulders shook uncontrollably. It was obvious she was in pain. Lisanna had managed to cross the room in a span of a few seconds and was with her sister holding her delicately like she could break like glass. Lisanna also had tears lined at the bottom of her eyes but she seemed to be holding in her emotions better than her sister.

Wendy didn't know what to think. Lucy couldn't have killed Elfman. No, she couldn't have. There must be a mistake. A terrible mistake because Lucy would never do this. Wendy's thoughts were voiced out by Happy,

"Lucy couldn't have done. She would never hurt anyone. Natsu, there must be some mistake. Lucy wouldn't...she couldn't...it's not possible."

"The male cat is right. Lucy isn't someone who would do this. I don't know how Elfman has died but Lucy would not have killed him." Carla supported Happy her paws curling into fists.

"She did do it. Lucy killed Elfman. Lisanna saw it herself. She told us that when Elfman turned his back that's when Lucy attacked him. Lisanna wouldn't have lied. Lucy killed him." Natsu shouted back his voice dripping with anger.

Wendy looked back towards Lisanna who was nodding her head, tears streaming down her face.

"I..I won't believe this. Lucy just wouldn't do this." Happy said firmly crossing his arms.

"That's the thing though. Lucy did do this. There is proof from Lisanna. They went on a mission and Lucy killed him on this mission. End off." Grey interrupted as he stood up from his chair.

"NO!"

Everyone looked to the sudden scream and their eyes landed on Wendy. She had her head down facing the floor, her bangs covering her eyes. Her arms were stuck stiffly to the sides of her body and her hands were balled into fist. Everyone was shocked. Wendy never raised her voiced like that before. Ever.

"Happy is right. Lucy wouldn't have done this. Lucy would rather die than hurt her own friends. You got it wrong. Lucy didn't kill Elfman. She wouldn't have killed him even if she was force too. You kicked Lucy out of the guild for no reason." Wendy's voiced cracked at the end as she lifted her head, her eyes glistened with unshed tears.

Before anyone can reply Carla spoke quickly spilling out her thoughts,

"Wendy is correct. I know Lucy and she is way too kind and loyal to kill Elfman. I don't think what Lisanna said is right. I'm not saying Lisanna is lying but something is defiantly wrong. I know for a fact just like Wendy does, that Lucy would never have done this."

Silence.

"What is going on here?" boomed a new voice and everyone turned to the suspect to find the Fairy Tail master Makarov.

He made his way to over to the group of people who were having a screaming match at each other and when he was no less than a few feet away he pulled to a stop, tapping his cane against his arm.

"Master." Wendy started "please tell me this isn't true? Don't tell me that you actually believe that Lucy would do something so horrible? She wouldn't. Please believe me...she wouldn't."

Makarov sighed before making eye-contact with Wendy his eyes hard as a brick wall "It is true. You have no idea how hard it is for me to lose a child." there was a pause and an angry expression, one that would even make the biggest of monsters fear for their lives formed on his face "but to have one of your own children that killed another is unacceptable. I could not allow Lucy to stay in our guild any longer. I kicked her out, took the Fairy Tail mark from her and I will make sure she will never return."

Wendy's eyes widen and her arms sag on her sides no longer tight with anger. She can't believe this. This is the guild that took her in, the guild that is taking care of her. She always knew where she belonged when she was here in Fairy Tail but now she didn't. She couldn't understand the crudeness that surrounded Fairy Tail. Were these even the people who were merciful to her?

"No... Gajeel tell me that this wrong. Tell me that Master did not do this to Lucy." a new voice spoke.

Everyone again switched their gaze to the other side of the room to find Lily backing away from Gajeel a look of incomprehension on his face. He didn't want to believe this.

Gajeel faced didn't look any indifference from usual except for a tight scowl on his face,

"It's true. We kicked and removed Bunny Girl from the guild yesterday."

Another moment of silence came. And, then Lily was running away from Gajeel towards Wendy, Happy and Carla his eyes wide, filled with different emotions,

"We have to leave immediately. Lucy is in trouble. We have to find her. If we don't than Lucy might not survive." Lily said.

Happy and Carla jaws dropped at the thought of Lucy dying. Happy actually looked like he could burst from sadness. They didn't ask why Lucy was in trouble. They believed Lily was telling the truth and by how serious he was acting it meant that they had to find Lucy as soon as possible. When Wendy was near the door she stopped and turned back to her guild. No, they were not her guild. Not anymore.

"I really enjoyed it here. You were my family, friends and so much more all rolled up with one. But, you're not anymore. And, after this I don't think you can ever be again. You hurt Lucy, one of your friends, no your family member. You probably didn't even listen to her when she tried to prove that she didn't kill Elfman. It hurts me a lot that he is dead but it hurts me even more that you will easily accept that Lucy was the one to do it. I don't want to be in this guild anymore. Not when you are like this. I quit Fairy Tail." Wendy announced with such courage that no one even knew she had, not even Carla.

"Wendy!" Erza shouted moving forwards but was that stopped by Wendy shaking her head. Wendy knew her decision maybe brazed but she didn't care. There was no changing it. She couldn't live with these people when they did something like that.

"I'm with Wendy. Your not who you once were. I don't know what caused you to change but it doesn't matter now. I'm following Wendy. I quit Fairy Tail." Carla said following Wendy as she stood next to her best friend.

"I'm sorry Gajeel. I can't be your cat anymore. Not after all this has happened. I am going with Wendy and the rest of them. For Lucy. I quit Fairy Tail." Lily said moving closer to Wendy and Carla. For once real emotion was present on Gajeel's face. He looked utterly shocked and his eyes seemed to almost jump outside its socket. He couldn't believe that Lily was going against him.

"I...This is for Lucy. She was one of my best friend along with you. Me, Natsu, Grey, Erza and...Lucy we were a team together. We were partners. I can't be in a team with you, without Lucy. I miss Lucy already. Nothing will be the same without her. She was so kind when we first me, remember Natsu? She didn't even know us and she helped us out and gave us food. And, now look what happened. You betrayed Lucy. You hurt her. Your, no our best friend and partner. I'm sorry Natsu, I quit Fairy Tail. I'm so sorry Natsu." Happy declared with tears streaming down his face.

He moved towards Wendy, Carla and Lily and nodded his head. They nodded their heads back as reply and simultaneous they walked out of the guild. Not one of them looked back.

"HAPPY!" Natsu shouted moving forward to run to get his best friend but a harsh tap coming from Makarov cane as he smacked it against the floor halted his movements.

"Leave them Natsu."

"But-"

"I said leave them. They made their choice. They chose Lucy over us. They quit Fairy Tail. We can't go after them. Let them go their own way even if their way is a mistake. We will not go after them. They betrayed us just like Lucy." Makarov explained.

All the guild members can only watch as their youngest team-mate as well as all the exceeds they had walked out of the Fairy Tail, the door automatically closing behind them shutting them out of the guild. Forever.

"Lucy defiantly did not go back to her own home after she was kicked out. The scent in there is faint. If she did go back the scent would have been way stronger. I have no idea where she went." Lily said frustratingly as he paced in front of Wendy, Carla and Happy.

They were all sitting on the road. Lily had volunteered to go see if Lucy had went back to her room while Wendy, Carla and Happy stayed put. But, as soon as Lily had flown in to the open window he knew very well Lucy was not there.

"We have to get to her quick. If Master...no if Makarov forced the Fairy Tail seal from Lucy's hand it means trouble. The seal of a guild becomes a part of a mage once it is stamped on. When you remove the seal it's like your removing a part of them. It doesn't just affect the part the stamp is on. It affects the body. Lucy must be in a lot of pain. If we can find her then Wendy, you can heal her. But, only after we find her." Lily said as his gaze made contact with each of his runaway companions.

"Lucy could be anywhere, couldn't she?" Happy stated as he stared at his paws, his vision going blurry from tears that have yet to shed "why would Natsu do this? He really cares about Lucy. But, why did he easily give up on her? Even Grey and Erza. We became a strong team together. I don't understand why they would think Lucy would betray them."

Wendy was about to comfort Happy herself. She knew he was hurting a lot considering he turned his back on not only the person who was his best friend but also the person who raised him from just an egg. However, before she could actually comfort him, Carla was beside Happy one of her paws was around his shoulder ans she was hugging him in a side hug. Wendy was shocked at this form of affection from Carla that she was lost for words.

"I know how you feel. We might not know why Natsu and the rest of them did what they did. But, our top priority is Lucy now. We have to find her Happy before she gets hurt even worse. After we find Lucy you can think about all the rest. But, until then just hold it in. Okay?" Carla spoke her voice uncharacteristically soft.

Happy ran an arm across his eyes clearing his eyes,

"Aye." he said while giving Carla a watered smile.

Wendy couldn't help the smile that played on her lip. She knew Carla didn't even realize she called Happy by his real name. She was glad they were working together because she knew together they could find Lucy. Her eyes wandered on the road, her mind lost in thought when she suddenly spotted something unusual.

"W-what is that?" Wendy asked as she pointed towards a dark red spot the size of a small ball on the floor.

Lily followed to where she was pointing at before kneeling next to the dark spot. His paw ran over the stain, before he knelt forward and took a sniff of the red spot. His eyes widen as he jumped up from the spot on his floor and into the air, his wings coming out.

"It smells like Lucy. I think...I think that's her blood. Quick, see if you can find anymore."

No one needed to be told twice. The little gang quickly searched the ground trying to find more of the dark blood. They tried not to worry about why there was blood on the floor and how bad Lucy could actually be.

"I found some over here!" Happy shouted as he pointed to a spot on the ground from his spot in the air some feet away from Lily and Wendy.

"I found another spot here too. Defiantly Lucy's blood." Carla announced and she was a few feet further away from Happy further head.

"It's a trail," Lily mumbled "a trail of Lucy's blood. If we follow her blood then-"

The rest of his sentence was cut off as Wendy exclaimed,

"then we will find her!"

"Good. By the looks of things Lucy's probably in a lot of trouble. Let's hope this trail does lead to her. Let's go find Lucy." Carla said slowly.

"Aye!" they all shouted at the same time.

Wendy held Carla with Happy and Lily walking beside her. Bare, naked trees surrounded them, making Wendy feel like they were creeping in, closing around them.

They had lost Lucy's blood trail quite some time again but Wendy had still decided to go forward. Lucy might be somewhere near by. Wendy could almost imagine her on the floor between a few trees withering in pain. Her chest tightened at the image. God, where was Lucy?

"It's going to get dark pretty soon." Lily commented as he looked at the sky that was a mixture between light and dark blue.

"Aye." Happy agreed as he looked up at the sky too.

"We're going to have to stop soon. Or at least find some place to stay. We can't keep wondering in this forest forever." Carla suggested as she shivered. It was cold now and the only warmth she was getting was from Wendy but that was diminishing quickly.

Wendy nodded her head in agreement and she bit her lip. She couldn't help it when her stomach grumbled. She blushed a bit and looked down. She hadn't eaten since this afternoon on her journey back to Fairy Tail. It had been so long.

"I'm hungry too Wendy. I wish I had that fish. Why did I leave it behind?" Happy complied as he walked on some dry, cracked leaves.

Wendy nodded absently until she spotted something on a bush on her side. Berries. They were a dark black color and they looked really tasty.

"Look over there Happy, Carla, Lily. It's berries. We should pick some to eat."

Wendy switched her direction towards the bush and came to the spot in front of it. She easily reached out and pluck a berry and licked her lips in anticipation. She was really hungry. She brought up the berry to her lips and was about to take a bite when a loud crack snapped her out of her action.

Wendy and the exceeds twisted to the sound and her eyes widened. In front of her, was a boy who really young, couldn't be even a year older than her. He had blonde hair and hazel eyes and was very cute. The boy was carrying a basket that seemed to be covered in green leaves. The boys eyes widened when he caught Wendy's eyes.

Wendy realized she was staring at the boy for some time. Most likely forty-five seconds exactly and then she got the most unusual reaction ever. The boy let out a yelped and he flung the basket as high as possible when he knelt to the floor. The basket smashed onto the floor a few feet away from him. The boy was in a crouching position, his hands on his head that was ducked low between his knees.

"No eyes...no eyes...don't stare...don't stare." the boy mumbles as he started to shiver and tremble furiously.

Wendy instantly thought something was terrible wrong with him and she ran forwards towards the boy. But, she didn't exactly make it. She only managed a few steps before she tripped on a stray tree branch and smacked face-first into the floor with a little cry.

"Wendy!" Carla shouted before she made her way and stopped beside the girl.

Wendy managed to get up on her elbows and groaned painfully while rubbing her head.

"Ow." she muttered as she winced when she felt a bump on her forehead.

"You should have been more careful." Carla chastised with her head nodding in a no.

"Um... are you okay?" whispered the boy his voice very low. His head was till in between his knees but he was peeping above them a bit.

"I'm fine. Thank you for asking." Wendy replied giving a small smile.

Suddenly, Happy flew forwards towards the boy,

"Aye. What are you doing here in this forest."

The boy looked at Happy his eyes widened and he jumped back with a little scream and was now on his back.

"T-the c-cat talked. W-wait the cat has w-wings?" the boy said in complete shock.

Happy nodded and smiled brightly,

"Aye I can. Who are you?"

The boy was still shaking and he looked so insecure. His eyes widened once he realized that the cat was staring at him. In a second he was in a defensive ball muttering about 'eyes' and 'demons'.

"Hey male cat. I think you're scaring him." Carla shouted and put both her hands on her hips.

Wendy slowly got up from the ground and walked up to the boy cautiously like she was approaching a wounded animal.

"Hey it's okay. We won't hurt you. By the way my names Wendy... what's yours?" Wendy introduced herself.

"My name is Kouta." Kouta mumbled finally lifting his head shyly and looking at Wendy.

Wendy smiled before waving to the exceeds,

"Don't worry about them. Their really my nice. This is Happy. Over there is Lily. And, this here is Carla. They are my friends."

Kouta let a small shaky smile before he looked absently at the floor,

"What are you doing in the dark forest at this time?" he asked.

Wendy looked at Happy, Carla and Lily wondering what she should say.

"We are looking for a friend." Lily replied.

Kouta eyes widened and now the smile on his face became a bit more prominent.

"This friend is important if you're looking for them in this forest at this time. I'm sorry for scaring you if I did. But, you were about to eat the poison berries and I had to stop you...that's why I disturbed you."

Wendy felt her stomach dropped at his words. If she had eaten that berry would she have died? Happy on the other hand went still and he went pale as a dove,

"P-Poison berries...if we ate them would we have died?" Happy questioned.

Kouta nodded his head before replying,

"Yeah. Those are finkel berries. They say when you eat them they kill you from the inside out. Very horrible process. And, one bite is all it takes."

Happy gulped.

"Good thing we didn't eat them then. Thank you for saving us." Wendy said smiling at Kouta.

Kouta eyes widen before he broke eye-contact when his body started to shake.

"You're welcome."

"So, what are you doing in this forest?" Lily asked eyeing Kouta suspiciously.

Kouta let out a sheepish grin and he stood up slowly before heading towards the basket.

"I was collecting herbs. Healing herbs. They are very good for making medicine and I needed some more since I ran out. But, things have been really busy and this has been the only time I have been able to get some. What about you? Why are you looking for your friend? Did they run here?" Kouta asked as he picked up the basket and checked if the herbs are okay.

"Something like that. Well, we were following her trail and it ended up here. We need to find her as quick as possible because we think she's hurt." Wendy explained.

Kouta's eyes widened and then softened as he looked at the blue-haired girl.

"Your very noble to come to this forest for your friend at this time. It's dangerous here considering this is the dark forest and all. Maybe you can tell me your friend's name so I can ask around if anyone's seen her. So, who is she?" Kouta questioned.

Wendy looked at Carla wondering if she should tell this boy. She didn't think he was evil, no he seemed way too kind for that. But could he be trusted? The answer was obvious.

"Her name is Lucy."

The reaction she got was not what she expected. Kouta's eyes widened and his jaw dropped comically.

"L-Lucy? As in a girl with blonde hair?" Kouta asked.

Wendy nodded her head and frowned

"Yeah, she has blonde hair. How do you know that? Have you seen her?"

Before Kouta can reply a big thud echoed thought the peaceful forest followed by multiple twig snaps. Both Wendy and Kouta turned their heads to the sound and they both nearly choked on their breaths.

Wendy could hear Happy scream from fright behind her. She felt Carla beside her and her body shook with fear. Lily was shouting out warnings but they didn't reach her ears. Wendy looked up at the massive shadow that over loomed them and she couldn't think.

Then she heard Kouta whisper

"Oh no...no...not now." and he seemed to know what was going on.

Finally Wendy snapped

"What is that?!" she screamed at the top of he lungs.

And, this is the end of the chapter. Not much Scarlet Destiny but I wanted to focus on Wendy and Fairy Tail and such. I also left you at an annoying cliff hanger but oh well. Next chapter will be more cool Lucy and Scarlet Destiny. please, please review so I know what you think.

Thanks and see you soon.
