Hello everyone! Here I am updating again for the next chapter. And, this chapter will be the chapter where the time-skip will be starting after I finish off the mission from the last chapter. Thank you for all the reviews from the last chapter and I hope you review for this chapter as well. I have an important thing to say at the end of the chapter but for now I will let you read this chapter.
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Fairy Tail but Scarlet Destiny is all mine.
The line of fire separating Lucy, the newly revealed demon Keahi and Happy spread faster, growing to overlap the view of Lucy, Happy and Keahi stopping the twenty men including eye-patch man from seeing them. None of the men dared stepped forward as they were shocked and terrified of the fire that came out of nowhere. They had no idea what it could do and even though of the space between the men and the fire they could feel the burning heat across their skin.
The fire started to take shape in the form of an oval surrounding Lucy. It illuminated one side of Keahi's face and shadowed the other giving him a mysterious experience. His hair, spiky and on fire itself captured Lucy's attention. She had never seen anything like it.
An immense feeling of relief filled Lucy's body at Keahi's last words. He was going to help regardless of not making a contract. She felt better knowing she had some way to defend herself.
Keahi looked at the fire-wall and back at Lucy. It was obvious that he was thinking of something that must be really important.
"I can't keep up the wall for long. They are going to get through. We need to beat them." Keahi said suddenly looking at Lucy with his orange-colored eyes.
"Your going to fight them?" Lucy asked looking expectedly at Keahi.
Keahi took a deep breath as if he was getting ready for a long explanation,
"I'm glad you called me out but I wish it was at a more relaxed situation. It will have been more easier for me to explain this to you." Keahi said sounding annoyed.
"Explain what?" Lucy asked staring at the demon confusingly. He wasn't making sense at all.
"I work...No, my powers work different then any other celestial spirit you have ever called on." Keahi announced.
"How does it work differently?" Lucy asked and her questions were followed by restless shouts from the other side of the fire-wall. Keahi was right. Those men were going to push through regardless of the fear they were feeling.
"No time to explain." Keahi started followed by a little 'tssk' "I'll have to show you."
Before Lucy could react, Keahi took a few gigantic steps until he was standing before her. He brought his hands upwards, until his fingers pressed against both of her temple's on the side of each of her forehead. This made Lucy feel even more confused and frustrated but also slightly worried. What the hell was this demon doing? What was he up to?
Lucy was about to ask what was going on when she felt it. Heat ran through her body, sparked every nerve in her body. It was like someone had just frown her into a hot oven but instead on feeling the pain that should come from this sudden heat she felt nothing of the sorts. All she felt was the intense warmth. She felt this warmth zipped through her body, making her arms and legs feel a tad bit more alert. The heat settled in her stomach and made it churn but not in an uncomfortable way. And, all this unusual heat came from one thing. Keahi's fingers.
As soon as Lucy was sure that the heat had spread through her body, covered and filled every inch of it was when Keahi removed his fingers from her temple. She looked at Keahi in shock and confusion. She wondered what was all that about. What was that heat?
A shocking cry brought Lucy out of her revenue and the origins was a wide-eyed Happy. Lucy swung her body and gaze to Happy who was standing beside her and staring up at her in awe, confusion and just utter wonder.
"Lucy...What happened to you?"
"Happy, what are you talking about?'
'You changed! Your hair and eyes...Their different!" Happy shouted out in shock.
Automatically, Lucy reached a hand to a thick part of her hair and brought it to her viewing range. And, she just stood there gaping at her hair. Instead of it being her usual blonde color, her hair was a mixture of between red and orange similar to Keahi's hair. Lucy quickly let go of that part of her hair and grabbed on to another on the other side to check that. It was exactly the same. Her hair had changed color. It was now an orange color. Although, Lucy couldn't see it, her eyes had also changed. Instead of it being it's nice brown color it was now an orange hue like a lighter shade of Loke's hair. Again, it was similar to Keahi's.
"Why has my hair changed?" Lucy demanded as she looked to Keahi wanting to know what had happened to her.
Keahi's face was neutral not showing any emotion. Finally he spoke,
"Like I said, my power works differently than a celestial spirit. I am a fire demon. And, you have released me. Although, we have not made a bond yet you can still use me as you are the one who has released me. You must know my story about me being imprisoned. But, more happened to me then being caged like a trap bird and never escaping. One of these things was my powers. In the form I take on at this moment I cannot control all my power. It is too much for me. Therefore, I need to give this power to someone else. What I am trying to explain to you is that when you call me to help you I have to give you half of my power as I cannot use it all. If I use all my power it will overwhelm me. I cannot explain this any further as we do not have any time. In other words, you can use my fire power as long as I am out. It is one of the reason your hair and eyes changed. It changed due to my power being in your body. You will fight with my fire power along side with me. That is how I work."
Lucy understood some of that. Not all of it...but some. She could use fire. Lucy couldn't believe that. It was too overwhelming. She never really fought in battle and here she was about to fight hand-in-hand. Did she have to do it? Could she do it?
"How do I control it? How do I control this fire power?"
"Think of fire. As soon as you do this my power will come to you. Think of what you want my fire to do. How you want it to act. There is no time for any practice. We have to deal with the troublesome men behind me. No time for a trail and error. Just do your best." Keahi said.
"W-wait! Y-you can't just expect me to know what to do like that!" Lucy shouted out except Keahi just ignored her.
He turned to the fire-wall. Lucy continued to make outrages cries which Keahi just ignored. He stretched out his arm in front of him, his palm facing upwards. Then, he closed his palm into a fist. As soon as he did this action the fire suddenly disperse, by swishing into a ball onto the right-hand side and just disappearing into thin air leaving no sign of what had happened.
"Is that it girly? Do you think fire like that is going to scare us off? Well, girly, think again. I don't care where that man came from. I am not scared of you or him. We are going to get you, girly." eye-patched man stated arrogantly holding his sword out in front of him.
"Heh, that's what you think." Keahi said with a small smirk.
He flung his hand back his palm open until it was just a few more inches past the back of his head. Suddenly, a small ball of fire started to form just above the palm of his hands. It grew rapidly until the ball of fire was as big as a babies head. Then with incredible speed, Keahi threw his arms forward and the fire-ball zoomed out of hand and headed straight to eye-patched man.
Eye-patched man barely had any time to dodge the fire-ball that was aimed for him. But, he managed to fling himself to the side and fire-ball hit the marble floor instead causing a small explosion making the unfortunate men that was close to the ball fly backwards.
"What the hell?" one of the faceless men shouted as he brought an arm up to defend himself from small lit ashes that was flying all over the place.
"Ignore that! It doesn't matter about the fire. We got more people! Surround him! Make him pay for thinking he could challenge us." screamed eye-patched man as he once again got to his feet.
"I would love to see you try." Keahi laughed as he once again formed another fire-ball in his hand.
In no time, people were in a state of confusion. Keahi formed fire-ball after fire-ball flinging them at the men who were dodging. Although, some things were obvious. No fire-ball was sent near the hostages or anywhere close to hitting them. The fire-balls also were slow enough so the men could dodge and the explosion would just mix up their senses.
Lucy stood still in the same spot watching all of this in awe. So, this was what a demon's power looked like. Yet, she had a feeling that Keahi hadn't even scratched the surface of his power yet.
"Hey, girly." said a voice snapping Lucy out of her thoughts.
She looked to the side of her to notice the eye-patched man was standing just a few feet away from her. His sword was pointed straight at her and looked deadly. It looked like he managed to past Keahi while he was busy with the rest of the men.
"Your going to pay for this. This was meant to be a clean steal but because of you, nearly all my men are down. I'm going to kill you for that!" eye-patched man shouted and he started to run the few-feet towards Lucy.
"Lucy's do something!" Happy screamed as he looked at Lucy.
Lucy brought both he hands out in front of her in a defensive positions. Instantly, she followed Keahi's fire. She thought about fire. She had no idea if it will work but she had no choice. Then, she felt it. The same heat feeling boiling in a stomach and Lucy opened her closed-eyes just in time.
A burst of hot, red flame shot out of Lucy's palms and headed straight for eye-patched man. The guy let out a scream as the flame hit him right in the chest and sent him flying backwards all the way to wall. The flame reduced from Lucy's palms until all but smoke trailed from her palms.
"Lucy...I think that is the most amazing thing you have ever done." Happy said in awe.
Lucy brought her palms in front of her staring at it in amazement.
"Happy, your right...I actually think I could get used to that."
On the other side of the room, Ren and Kuro were dealing with Jumaba. As soon as Kuro joined Ren this conversation insured,
"Okay, idiot, what the hell is this thing?"
"Don't call me an idiot, Goth Boy. And, I don't know what this thing is. I just know he's called Jumaba."
"So, let me get this right... You go jumping into this fight with a creature that you know nothing about... How stupid can you get? No wonder to two of them now!"
"Shut up! It's not like you can do better."
Before Kuro can retort to that, one of the Jumaba spat its acid spit towards both them. Each of them separated to opposite side's and the acid spit hit the floor instantly melting it.
"Better not let your guard down. Really don't want to get hit by that spit." Raphael laughed smiling.
"Damn it... Okay, so why not attack the guy?" Kuro asked Ren as he dodged lethal spit from one of the Jumaba that had it out from him.
"Tried that. Jumaba won't let me go near Raphael at all." Ren answered as he like Kuro was dodging acid spit from the other Jumaba that was after him.
"That's it!" Ren shouted as he jumped up dodging some acid spit and flying in the air with his wings.
"WATER DRAG-"
"YOU IDIOT! Don't do that!" Kuro shouted ans a shadow tentacle shot from Kuro's feet to Ren and wrapped around Ren's leg. Then with a sharp tug, Ren got pulled down with the tentacle and landed roughly next to Kuro. The moment Ren hit the ground he let out a cry of pain.
"Kuro! What the hell?!"
"Don't shout at me like that dumb-ass! Don't attack Jumaba like that... remember what Raphael said? We already have two Jumaba do deal with, let's not make it three."
"Okay, Goth Boy, what do you suggest we do? If we can't attack it because it will split, then how do we stop it?"
Kuro stopped for a second thinking for a second. And, suddenly his black eyes brightened just a tad bit indicating he just got an idea.
"Got it," Kuro said and he quickly dragged Ren off the ground and started to whisper his plan into the guy's ear.
Raphael looked at the pair cautiously. He knew they couldn't beat Jumaba but he was still wondering why they were trying. These kids were stubborn as a bull.
Finally, Kuro stopped whispering in Ren's ear, and quickly drew back. Ren had a gigantic smirk on his face because of Kuro's plan.
"Did you get that?" Kuro asked as he looked over at Ren.
"Yup...And, I think it's going to work."
Then both of them put the plan into action. Ren ran forward towards one of the Jumaba and quickly jumped up into the air using his wings to fly. With his wings outstretched he dived forward towards Jumaba and quickly shots,
"WATER DRAGON PUNCH!"
His fist engulfed with hot pressurized water and he managed to hit Jumaba in it's chest sending it reeling backwards. Jumaba quickly shook the effect of the punch off and made a roaring sound before shooting acid spit Ren's way. Ren managed to dive down and avoid the spit and he flew to the side and made a large curve avoiding more acid spit and when he was near enough to Jumaba he shouted out again,
"WATER DRAGON PUNCH!"
His aim was direct again and it hit Jumaba on the side of it's head and sent it backwards yet again. But, it wasn't enough to stop Jumaba.
"What are you doing idiot? You can't beat Jumaba! Do you really think attacking it like that is going to make you win? Once Jumaba reaches the level of pain needed he will just split again and you will have to deal with another one." Raphael shouted out.
Ren stopped in the air and a small, secret smirk cam on his face.
"I know that," Ren said loud enough for Raphael to hear and the latter came him a very confused look, "but our plan wasn't to hurt Jumaba. You see I'm just distracting you."
"What?!" Raphael shouted and he looked away from Ren wondering what was he getting distraction from. He looked to the other Jumaba, the one who wasn't occupied with Ren and noticed at once what was wrong with it.
The Jumaba was being held down by what seemed like millions of black, thick tentacles from one side to the next. The Jumaba was trying to free itself but to no prevail. It was tightly stuck to the floor and it couldn't move an inch and it was crying out.
"That's it? You were distracting me so you could tie down one Jumaba? You really think that's going to help? One Jumaba is all I need to finish you off!" Raphael shouted.
Ren shook his head instantly at Raphael accusation,
"No, that isn't why I distracted you. Behind you is why I distracted you." Ren announced.
Raphael quickly registered Ren's words and spun around to see the other boy, Kuro, behind him. Raphael stood dumb shock at Kuro. Not because of him being behind him but because of what Kuro had in his hand. In Kuro's hand was a small like remote control that he was twirling around. There were a few buttons on it but it looked very uncomplicated.
"How did you-" Raphael stopped his sentence as he stuffed his hand down his right pocket but feeling nothing in it,
"How did you get that?" Raphael shouted.
"Oh this," Kuro said as he stopped twirling the remote control and held it out in front of him, "You see I figured it out. I found it strange to begin with how you could control such a creature especially since you seem to have no magical ability. It is out of your realm. But, while Ren was about to attack it with his water dragon roar I managed to see this little chip hidden behind Jumaba's...well, I don't know what part of Jumaba but it was underneath the head. Anyway, when I saw this chip it all made sense. You control Jumaba! That's why it does whatever you want. Because you force it too. I bet it is a harmless creature while it is not provoked. But, you somehow take control of it with this... Don't you?" Kuro shouted out.
Raphael returned his question with a small smirk,
"Your right. 'Rough' was weak until we came across Jumaba. We couldn't pull of any big thievery as we had no power. We were travelling through a swamp on a way to a heist when we came across Jumaba. It is harmless like you said but you see Jumaba reacts to electrical waves. With a shock that is hard enough you can activate it out of its cocoon state that ball you saw before. And, with enough electrical waves at the right moment you can control Jumaba and all that power he possesses! I built the chip and remote control to control Jumaba...He is mine!"
"That's awful," Ren started as he slowly landed on the floor "You act like he is just a weapon for you to use... He's not. You took him away from his home and used him for your own selfish reasons. You used him like a puppet. But, not any more. I won't allow it!"
"Ren's right! We won't allow you to use it like this anymore. We won't allow you to control it," Kuro started "I am going to destroy this remote now!"
"You can't! Do you even know how long it took me to make that!?" Raphael shouted and he tried to move forward but he realized he couldn't move his feet. Looking down he saw two black tentacles clutched on two his feet.
Kuro threw the remote upwards and in the air he quickly shouted,
"SHADOW BOW!"
Suddenly, dark shadows appeared around Kuro's arms until it formed a bow and arrow out of darkness. Kuro drew the shadow arrow back and aimed it at the flying remote. He released the arrow and it shot forward and hit the remote shattering it to a million pieces.
"NO!" Raphael shouted and collapsed onto his knees.
Kuro and Ren turned back to the two Jumaba. The one that was en caged in the black tentacles suddenly dissappeared in a poof of smoke and the shadow tentacles shrunk down onto the floor and went back into the dark shadows in the corner of the room.
The other Jumaba also poof into grey smoke but instead of disappearing there was a small, green, scaly ball in its place. The original cocoon version of Jumaba. A harmless thing.
"Your going to pay for doing that!" Raphael shouted as he stood on his feet and drew out a small dagger from his side.
Unfortunately for Raphael he forgot about the shadow tentacles that was around his feet. They suddenly flew upwards with Raphael and made his dangle in the sky.
"He's all your's you idiot!" Kuro shouted.
Ren gave a little scoff and quickly flew upwards. When he was close enough to Rapheal he drew back his fist,
"WATER-"
"Wait..No..Don't"
"DRAGON-"
"Please don't! I'll give you anything...I'll do anything!"
"PUNCH!"
The water punch hit in his chest and caused him to go flying to the wall and banging on it causing a hole to form. He slowly slid down from the wall and landed on the floor unconscious.
Ren landed on the floor and his wings vanished. He now looked like a normal boy again.
"Ren! Kuro!" Lucy shouted as she came across the room towards the two.
"Hey Lucy! We beat Jumaba!" Ren shouted happily as he waved an arm to her.
"I know, I and Keahi also finished all the men." Lucy announced as she pointed back at the group of men that were unconscious.
"More like Keahi... You barely did anything." Happy mumbled which earned him a deadly glare.
"Oi Lucy! Your hair and eyes are a different color!?" Ren shouted as he pointed to Lucy's hair.
"Seriously?! You just noticed that now! I bet you didn't even notice the other man's hair is made of fire?" Kuro said as he looked at Ren.
Ren looked at Keahi with an amazed stars in his eyes,
"You didn't notice his hair was made of fire did you?" Kuro said as he smacked his hand on his face,
"No...but how cool is that!?"
Keahi walked towards them and stood next to Lucy and gave her slight nod,
"I'll take my leave now...But you should call me soon so we can make a proper bond a contract."
"I will."
Keahi nodded his head before he closed his eyes. Then he disappeared in a flash leaving only a few trail of lighten ashes and smoke that headed towards the ceiling and vanished towards the atmosphere.
"I heard all about Jumaba... It was sad to hear that it was being controlled like that." Lucy said as she looked down at the ball on the ground.
Ren nodded his head and Kuro walked towards Jumaba and picked up the ball,
"I know... We'll take Jumaba back with us to the guild. I'm pretty sure Jared will know what to do with him. He might know where Jumaba belongs and will put him back to his rightful place."
Before Happy, Lucy or Ren could reply loud bangs filled the atmosphere,
"'Rough' group this is the general of the council's soldiers. You have ten seconds to open this door or we will force our way in." said a loud male voice.
"Okay, I know we should check the hostages and all but we should get out of here." Kuro announced as he looked at his companions and none of them were eager to argue with him at that point.
Time Skip Starting Point
Two days after Lucy and Ren's first mission
Wendy swung her legs back and forth which she sat comfortably on one of the infirmary beds in the infirmary room in Scarlet Destiny. The infirmary room was huge and was filled with at least thirty beds, fifteen on each side of the room. The beds were all the same, with the same white sheets. The door was at the far end of the room and opposite at the other end was an incomplete rectangle table along the wall.
On this table was full of scientific looking equipment, with jars full of colorful liquids and all sorts of things like that. There was one chair in front of the table which was occupied with Kouta. He was facing Wendy who was on the bed nearest to the table, but his concentration was clearing on a wooden oval bowl in his hands.
The bowl was full of green herbs. Some were intact while other were crushed into tiny bits. Kouta was using a small utensil like a small baseball bat the crush the herbs. It was brown and wooden. Wendy watched him intriguingly.
While these past two days, she had yet to go on a mission she had spent most of her time getting used to her new guild occupants. She remembered after she came back the first time from collecting herbs with Kouta, she had seen Lily staring at Jared with wonder and amazement. It was weird seeing Lily like that since he was never that amazed at anything.
When Wendy had asked why Lily was acting like that Sarah had answered for her saying while Lily had shown Jared what he can do, Jared in return showed Lily his main magical power. It seemed to shock Lily a lot as he had never seen such power in a young boy before. Lily was completely awe-struck by it.
This made Wendy to know what Jared's power was even more but when she had asked Jared if he wanted to asses her powers he kindly refused saying that he would asses her powers with Lucy's. But, when Lucy had come back from her mission two days ago she seemed really tired so Jared had announced that he would give time for Lucy to rest before assessing their power. Today was the day that Jared was actually going to assess Wendy and Lucy's power.
Wendy loved the guild so far. Everyone was nice and friendly but she could also tell they were secretive. That's what brings her to Kouta. She wanted to see and learn more of his healing abilities. As far as she knew only she could use that lost magic.
But, Kouta was the most slippery person she had met in this guild yet. He wasn't really in the main guild that much. He would be in the infirmary even if no one was in there or in need of healing. He would be on his desk and using the equipment on the table and always mixing things together. Wendy wanted to know what it was all about.
But, every time Wendy was going to ask, Kouta's phobia would kick in and he would start to tremble and she couldn't get a word out of him. So, when Wendy brought this up with Jared he advised her to stay in Kouta's company so he could get used to her being around. So he wouldn't be so scared or run away when she would stare at him when they would talk.
Carla wasn't with Wendy at the moment. She was actually with the twins, Mia and Miya. Both of them had taken an extreme liking to her as they thought she was beautiful. And, they would ask Carla to play with them with the most adorable puppy dog eyes, one even Carla couldn't refuse. So, it was just Wendy and Kouta.
"Why are you crushing those herbs?" Wendy asked as she leaned forward watching Kouta's hands.
Kouta stilled for a moment and his hands began to shake slightly like he remembered that she was in the room and staring at him but he still managed to get out,
"I-I'm crushing these herbs to make medicine."
Wendy gave Kouta a confused look one he did not see as he was still crushing the herbs,
"I don't understand. You can heal people...Why would you need medicine for if you can heal anyone who is hurt?" Wendy questioned.
Kouta paused his crushing and looked up at Wendy and managed to maintain eye-contact,
"Well, Wendy even though I can heal people I wouldn't do it that often. See, if I just cure anyone like that how will it help build it their metabolism? For example, if I heal everyone while they are sick then I don't let their metabolism work. I don't actually let their own body build its own cure for the illness. This is wrong as that makes them weak and more prone to illness and infection. So, I only use my healing powers when it is serious. I make strong powerful medicine to heal people and help their bodies grow. Do you understand that Wendy?" Kouta explained.
Wendy nodded her head deep in concentration. She had never thought of her powers like that before. Like, if she helped everyone heal even the most littlest of things it could lead to worst things. Now, she knew to take that into mind.
Wendy opened her mouth to ask Kouta if he needed her help and if she built enough courage if he could teach her some stuff when the door to the infirmary banged open and smashed against the back wall hard
In front of the doorway were two people, one was carrying the other. They were both girls. The one that was holding the other girl had long black purplish hair that was let down and a side fringe that was messed up but it didn't do anything to hinder her beauty. Her eyes were a deep purple color and stood out brightly against her pale skin. She was wearing a light blue top with a black stripe at the top and bottom but in the middle of the top, was a black bow. The girl was also wearing a short white skirt which stopped in the middle of her thighs and then from her knees started this really stylish black boots with lases tied up. She also wore black finger less gloves.
The girl she was holding had short dark pink hair that was wild and spiky and all over the place. She was wearing a stripy colorful top that was alternative green, purple and blue and so on. She was really young too, could not be older than eleven. She was being held by the other girl in a bridal style and something was really off about her.
"Kouta! I need your help!" the black-haired girl shouted between breaths.
"Nyx? What's wrong? Why are you holding Narria?" Kouta asked.
Nyx, the black-haired girl ran towards Kouta and placed Narria, the pink haired girl, on the infirmary bed closet to him.
Wendy followed Kouta to the bed and looked at Narria with disbelief. The girl's skin was not normal. Along her pale skin were green stripes and it was all over the place. It was over her face, hands, everywhere. They did not look good at all.
"Oh no, I need to help her now." Kouta said as he held his hands out in front of her and they started to glow green.
Wendy looked between the three of them with confusion,
"What's happening? Why is her skin green?" she asked.
"Narria must have used her magic for to long...She's turning into the her very magical thing she controls...She's turning into nature itself."
