Hello! I'm so, so, so sorry that it's been a long time since I've update. For those who have wondered I AM DEAD (I actually am...I've come back from the dead to haunt this story) :) Okay, so I'm actually on my Easter holidays. Now, I know you must be thinking that I should be updating more this past week or so but I have been stacked up to the neck with homework like I have 5 essays to do by the end of this week which I have not even started yet... Yeah, I'm so going to fail. I was going to update yesterday but my family watched The Hobbit 2 and they wanted to watch it as a 'family' so all electronics was taken away from me. But, anyway, I'm still updating today and I hope you can forgive me. This is the long-awaited Chapter, where Scarlet Destiny and Fairy Tail meet so it is worth the wait. So, here it is:
Disclaimer: I do not own anything of Fairy Tail but Scarlet Destiny is all mine :)
Three months since Lucy joined Scarlet Destiny.
The sunlight was unusually bright. The bright beams struck Jared's eyes making him squint. It was too bright. The light brightened Jared's surroundings making the trees around him a bit less eerie than usual. The weather was weird today.
"It is really bright, isn't it?" Sarah asked as she walked calmly beside Jared, her arms crossed over her chest, and her head facing downwards so the sun wouldn't get in her eyes.
"It's annoying...Shouldn't it be dark in the 'dark forest'?" Jared commented as he raised a hand to his forehead to shield his eyes from the blinding sun. A small grin was on his face as he looked down as his partner.
"We both know by now that the weather here is unpredictable. Remember that time when it was shining brightly like this and you wanted to stay outside for the day and be lazy? But, then the weather suddenly changed as it started to pour down rain and ruined your whole day." Sarah commented and a little giggle escaped her lips.
"Yeah...And, I was really looking forward to my lazy day." Jared mumbled as he tread deeper into the trees.
There was a moment of silence where only the shrilling sounds of crickets could be heard in the atmosphere. Mixed with this were soft bird tweets giving the atmosphere a calm aura. Except, there really was nothing to be calm about.
"Why do you think the council wants to meet with us out here?" Sarah asked as she managed to look up at Jared.
"I...have no idea." Jared replied honestly.
A week ago Jared and Sarah had gotten a private letter from the Magic council. On it was a date and time to meet up with members of the council to discuss a very important matter. Although, there was no mention on to what that matter was in the letter. All of it was very unanimous that if Jared and Sarah didn't know that the letter was from the council they would have been very suspicious.
Scarlet Destiny and the Magic council were not on...good terms. The Magic council didn't like how secretive Scarlet Destiny was or how they operated by themselves. The council had a problem that they didn't know anything about Scarlet Destiny. Another problem was how young the master, Jared, was. They didn't like his age. They didn't think he was worthy enough to be a guild master at such a young age.
"Sarah, how long has it been since we met any members of the council?" Jared asked as he knew they were nearing their destination.
There was no face-to-face interaction between the council and Scarlet Destiny. Because they were not on good terms they didn't really like meeting each other. So that was one of the reasons that if any of the members somehow crossed paths with the council they would try to prevent any real meetings with them. The only way Scarlet Destiny and the Magic Council actually interacted with each other was through letters.
"I think it's been about three years since you and I have met the council. The last time was just when you rightfully claimed the place of being the master of our guild. The council was never happy that a fifteen year old became a master of a guild." Sarah replied.
"I think they were more upset that a fourteen year old was our guild's second in command." Jared said teasingly as he used his shoulder to nudge Sarah's smirking at her.
Sarah rolled her eyes at Jared's silly antics. It was only with her that he was really comfortable at being himself. The one person he didn't really let anybody see.
Finally, Jared and Sarah crouched low to slide themselves through a small gap between two twisting trees to find themselves in a somewhat large clearing. There was no grass so the ground was hard, firm and bare. Long stick shadows was all over the ground coming from the twisting branches above them obscuring the view of the sun.
Jared and Sarah were not the only people present. There was at least seven other people in the clearing with them. Six of these people were wearing the usual dress-code, a long robe that was covered by a light blue cloth. Each of them had long brown spears in their hands and their posture was straight and legs wide apart. On the light blue cloth was the Magic councils insignia. Council solider. The Rune Nights.
The other person could no way be mistaken as a Rune Night. He resembled a frog and was mostly covered in spots all over his back and cheeks. His face was round like a ball and he was wearing a dark blue jacket over a light blue top. This was the Councils main messenger.
The Rune Nights and the Messenger turned towards Jared and Sarah a little surprised look on their face. They didn't expect the two of them to emerge out in the clearing so suddenly. The messenger was the first to regain himself.
"Ah. You two must be members of Scarlet Destiny. You must be Sarah, the second in command of the guild," the messenger said as his eyes trailed over her before turning to Jared "and, you must be the guild's master...Jared."
The Rune Knights looked at each other the shock more prominent on their faces. Jared and Sarah already knew what must have gone on in their heads.
'Those two? Leaders of Scarlet Destiny, a guild full of unique mages? That's impossible! They are way too young!'
"Yeah, we are them. But may I just ask, are those soldiers really necessary?" Jared asked his voice formal and strong.
Jared's eyes skimmed over the group already picking out obvious weaknesses. Their stance was too static and firm. They wouldn't be able to move quick enough to dodge an attack if they stood that still.
"They are indeed. It's not that we do not trust you or anything...but Rune Knights usually come with me while I send out messages." the messenger informed them as he clasped his frog-hands together.
"And, what message does the council have for us?" Sarah asked as she moved closer to Jared.
The atmosphere was suffocating and tense. She knew it will be like this and she knew she was strong enough to handle it but she didn't imagine the impact it could have on her emotions. Jared quickly glanced towards Sarah just to make sure she was okay. No matter what Sarah was always going to be his top priority.
"I will speak of the matter to you quickly as it is very important. I am sure you have heard about the new dark guild that has emerged. There have been plenty of rumours going around so you must know about it." the messenger said.
Both Jared and Sarah quickly shared a glance even more confused than before about where this conversation was leading too.
"We've heard about them." Sarah spoke simply before turning to Jared for him to carry on.
"Yes we have heard about them. This new dark guild that has emerged name is 'Lacus Animarum'. They have recently been causing severe damage all over the place especially within this region. We have heard rumours of them being a very vicious guild with no mercy. We've heard they have killed a few people." Jared said slowly.
At the beginning Sarah and Jared had been worried about the appearance of this new guild. The more they heard about this guild the more they disliked it. The guild Lacus Animarum has been causing damage but mostly by taking lives. Anyone that was in the path of a member of Lacus Animarum was killed.
"Yes that is correct. Lacus Animarum are creating mass destruction and chaos. You must also know they have killed a number of people from different 'good' guilds such as Blue Pegasus." the Messenger informed them.
"We have heard about that too. Lacus Animarum seem to be intent on killing people from guilds the most. I've heard number of guilds have lost precious members due to Lacus Animarum members killing them." Sarah replied softly.
Jared and Sarah had been worried that the members in their guild would be attacked and killed too. No one knew why Lacus Animarum have been killing guild members but they have been. Jared and Sarah were worried they would be a target and they asked their members to be more cautious but nothing has happened to them yet.
"Again that is correct. We have never come across a dark guild like Lacus Animarum. They seem to be interested in killing members of 'good' guilds. Nothing else about their intention is known apart from this. We do not know what this guild is up too. They are strong, secretive and downright venomous. We don't know any specific members of this guild either. We just know they have to be taken down."
"Why are you telling us about Lacus Animarum?" Jared questioned.
"Because, Master Jared," the messenger started "Your guild and one other are the only guilds that have yet to be attacked and loose members to Lacus Animarum."
Silence.
"Who is the other guild that hasn't been attacked?" Sarah asked.
"Fairy Tail."
Both Jared and Sarah eyes widen at that. They hadn't heard that guild name been spoken since Lucy said it when she first came injured into their guild.
"We know now that it not a coincidence that Scarlet Destiny and Fairy Tail has not been attack by Lacus Animarum. Maybe it is Lacus Animarum intention not to attack you. Whatever the case the council has decided to take this as an opportunity. We have decided that we want you to form a team with Fairy Tail to find out more and destroy the guild Lacus Animarum." the messenger announced.
There was more silence as Jared and Sarah was wondering about this. Make a team with Fairy Tail? After what had happened to Lucy? Both had immediately come to the conclusion that was not going to happen. For Lucy's sake they were not going to form a team with them. Although, they were thinking this the messenger must have thought that they were thinking about why they had to fight against Lacus Animarum so he started saying,
"It has to be your guild and Fairy Tail. All other guilds are drowned in grief for their lost members. But, they are filled with anger. If we allow them to destroy Lacus Animarum then-"
"They will attack with revenge. And, if they were to attack with revenge they will make mistakes that will cost them dearly. When fighting a battle you do not think about revenge or anger. It might make you think you are stronger but in fact you make mistakes that will ultimately cost you to lose the battle." Jared interrupted as he finished off the rest of the sentence.
"Indeed. So, we cannot allow it. Your guild and Fairy Tail are the only guilds that do not at this moment have deep hatred towards Lacus Animarum."
"Okay, I get that. But, why us? Fairy Tail can easily handle this. They are a powerful guild." Jared said. Although he may hate Fairy Tail there was no denying a fact. The guild was strong.
"Fairy Tail maybe strong but they are not strong enough to take on Lacus Animarum. We have no idea what this dark guild can do. They seem to have taken out most of the other guild members easily. Although, the council may not approve of your guild we still need you to team up with Fairy Tail." the messenger said.
"Maybe we don't have to team up. Maybe we can take on Lacus Animarum all on our own?" Sarah suggested.
"No. It has to be a joint team. Scarlet Destiny maybe strong but there are people in your guild that are too young." the messenger said.
"What do you mean by that?" Jared said slowly and calmly...a little too calmly.
"I mean that your guild is full of children. Something which the council hates. You and your guild are too young to take on such a mission. You will be responsible if anything was to have happen." the messenger said regard to the palpable tension in the air.
"It doesn't matter if we're young! We won't let anything happen to our members! Our Family!" Sarah shouted as she clenched her hands into fist, her eyes burning with unshed tears.
Jared was quick to react with Sarah's emotional outburst. He quickly moved behind her and put both her hands on her shoulders that were shaking just the slightest. He leaned into her back and moved his lips next to her right ear so he could whisper into it,
"Sarah, calm down. It's alight. Nothing will happen. Let me handle this. Take control."
These few simple words seemed to have a profound effect on Sarah. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she heeded Jared's words. Calm. She needed to be calm.
"Sorry about that," Jared said as he leaned away from Sarah yet kept his hands firmly on her shoulders. "Sarah is very emotional. But I just want to say to you age doesn't matter. Yes, I am young but I know how to handle situations. I know the strengths, weaknesses, limitations of my members and I would not send them on mission that I know they could not handle. So, please do not underestimate my guild members. We are strong regardless of how old we are. I don't tell you how to run the council so please do not tell me how to run Scarlet Destiny."
The messenger nodded and swallowed hard. There was something about the way both of them were looking at him. The Master, Jared, had been calm throughout this conversation until the very moment his partner seemed to lose it. Now, he could see the downright anger in the black of eyes of this young boy. The Ruin Knights must have seen too because each had a slight panic look on their faces at such a strong reaction.
"I understand," the messenger paused "but you must understand that the council will not let you go alone on this mission. If you do not want to do this for the council then do it for the guilds that have lost members."
Sarah moved her head back until she was leaning it against Jared's chest. He looked down at her, his eyes soft. He knew exactly what she was thinking. He knew she was thinking if it had been one of their members that have been killed. They would want someone to avenge them. But, they had to team-up with Fairy Tail. A guild that they did not like at all. A guild that would cause a lot of problems.
"I cannot give you a decision straight away. I need to talk to my guild about this. Is that all right?" Jared asked.
"Yes. We must be informed immediately if you will accept this mission."
"Okay." Jared reply. He knew now he needed to take to someone specifically. Only with this girl's permission he could accept this mission.
Scarlet Destiny Main Guild Room.
Lucy laughed out loud as she watched as Ren and Kuro had a staring match to the death! The main guild room was packed more so then usual and it looked like no one was on a mission for once. She was near the bartender table which was now her usual spot in the guild with Ren.
Which bring us back to the staring competition. Lucy had learned through these few past brilliant months that Kuro and Ren would have ridiculous competitions over the most silliest of things. This one of them. She couldn't exactly remember how the staring match had started but it had happened. And, she could not be more glad of it.
Ren had streams of tears flowing from his eyes as he tried to keep it open. He had this very weird look on his face as his blue eyes were wide and red. It was really becoming hard for him to keep open his eyes. It was the most hilarious thing ever. Kuro was the exact opposite to Ren. His eyes were opened normally, nothing unusual about them and he was leaning against his hand and had a look of absolute boredom on his face. This eye staring contest wasn't even affecting him.
"Damn it Kuro! Blink! Blink like a normal person would!" Ren shouted out as he looked like he was going to lose it.
"No way fish boy. I'm loving seeing you squirm!" Kuro snickered as his mouth formed into a big grin.
"Come on Kuro! You can win against Ren!" Lucy shouted out loud.
"What?! Lucy your meant to be on my side!" Ren shouted out in dismay.
"I gave up being on your side the moment the tears started to flow."
"Eh?!"
"Don't worry Ren! I'm still on your side!" Happy said as he smiled brightly.
"Thank you Happy...Yosh! I'm winning this for you now Happy!" Ren said loudly as he strained his eyes further apart.
"Happy, I don't think you should have done that... Ren looks like his eyes are about to pop out of his socked." Lucy whispered to Happy, sounding worried but the smile on her face said being worried was the least thing she was thinking about.
"Oh yeah!? Well, Ren is going to win! Just you see Lucy!" Happy said firmly.
"Oh yeah, How? Kuro isn't even breaking a sweat."
Happy looked down and seemed to be thinking about the answer to that deeply. A sinister grin came upon Happy's face an idea formed in his head. He brought his gaze away from Lucy and looked around the room until his eyes finally laid upon the exact person he wanted.
Happy's winged sprouted out and he flew a few feet in the air before shouting at the top of his lungs,
"NYX! Come over here for a second!"
Kuro instantly reacted. His face fell out of his hands and almost smacked on the table. He jumped almost like a fish out of water to the direction in which Nyx was coming from as she heard Happy's call and was now heading his way. Kuro eyes widened as he stared at her coming towards them and he blinked in disbelief.
"HA! Kuro you blinked! You lost! I won! Ha, ha ha!" Ren shouted out happily as he raised a hand into the air in victory.
"D-doesn't m-matter. I-I have to g-go." Kuro stuttered.
Before, anyone can stop him he suddenly jumped off his seat. He ran towards the closet corner of the guild room as fast as he could before anyone could shout his name. Once there, he literally jumped into the shadows and at once melted into them using his magic. In no time Kuro could not be seen and all there were was black shadows in his place.
"Hey, Happy. Did you need me?" Nyx asked as she finally reached the table, both hands across her chest.
"Nope. Nothing. You can go now." Happy replied that sinister smirk still on his face.
A confused look appeared on Nyx's face. But, she just shook it off and smiled back. She quickly turned around and went back towards her team-mates, Veruna and Narria.
"That was just plain wrong and cruel." Lucy said as she looked at Happy disappointed.
"What? You didn't say we couldn't help who we supported. And, it's not my fault that Kuro liiiiiiikes Nyx."
Kuro's relationship with Nyx was a very interesting one. Kuro had this big massive crush on Nyx since the first time he had met her. Although, he acted differently to other people who had crushes. When most people would have crushes on people they would go after them but Kuro was the exact opposite. Whenever Nyx was around Kuro he would always run away or just blatantly ignore her. It wasn't his fault. He just didn't know why he would. It was a reflexive reaction. He would panic and just did the first things that would come into his mind.
So, it was one of the reasons why Kuro didn't visit Nyx when she was the infirmary three months ago since he couldn't face her. You know the phrase 'fight or flight'? When it came to Nyx it was the latter Kuro would do. So, Nyx initial thought is that Kuro hated her because she could never talk to him. Although this was actually the opposite.
"So? You can't use a boy's crush against him." Lucy said.
"Aye...I'm sorry."
Lucy sighed and looked over at Ren who still had his eyes wide open.
"Ren, the contest is over... You can blink now." Lucy informed him.
"I would... except I think I forgot how too." Ren said slowly.
Lucy smacked her hand over her head and sighed. She had to have the strangest team-mates ever.
Lucy was about to say something when a new voice interrupted her,
"Lucy?"
The girl in question turned to the side and saw Sarah standing there, one of her hands across her chest to hold the other arms elbow.
"Can you go up to Jared's study room? He need to talk to you."
Lucy looked strangely at Sarah. The girl wasn't really looking at Lucy, and when Lucy tried to make eye contact Sarah swiftly looked away. Something was wrong. Sarah was acting stranger then usual. Being in Scarlet Destiny for as long as she had Lucy was sure of it.
"Sure, I'll go there."
Jared's Study Room.
"...And, so you see now Lucy. We have to join up with Fairy Tail to defeat Lacus Animarum. I don't want too but it's not about what I want. Lucy, I'm telling you this first because I know how much of a big deal this is for you. Fairy Tail hurt you a lot. You...may not be able to deal with them this soon. So, I will not accept this mission unless I know that it is okay with you. It's your choice now Lucy. It's in your hands. If you want then this mission will go ahead and Scarlet Destiny and Fairy Tail will join for this mission. If not...then...I don't know. I really don't know." Jared explained.
Lucy just stared at the desk no answer on her lips. Could she do this? She had been so happy in Scarlet Destiny? Every moment here she cherished. She didn't want to let Scarlet Destiny down or be responsible if the council would do something to them. But...this was Fairy Tail. They didn't just hurt her, they broke her to pieces like fragile glass. She sometimes had nightmares about the time when they forcefully removed her guild mark.
Did she want to see her ex-guild so soon? Of course the answer was a big no! Who would want to see someone who had hurt them so much? But, Lucy knew this wasn't about her. This was about Scarlet Destiny. She was different now. She wasn't the Lucy of Fairy Tail. She also wasn't just the Lucy of Scarlet Destiny either. She was Lucy... the girl who was strong enough to reach her dream. The girl who could do it on her own.
"I...I know that it will be hard but... I can do it!" Lucy started and she raised her head from Jared's desk staring straight at him, fire in her eyes "I want to do this. I want to see my old guild again. I want to prove to them how wrong they were about me. I want to prove I am stronger and better than before. But...I also want to prove my innocence. I want to prove to them that I did not kill Elfman! I would never do such a thing! So, tell the council that Scarlet Destiny will join up with Fairy Tail. That we will fight and defeat Lacus Animarum!"
Jared stared at Lucy a small smile on his lips. Lucy had grown so much over these past months. She had involved from what she was. He really could not be more proud of her. She had finally found herself and there was no way she was going to let herself go.
"Let's go down to the guild, Lucy. I think they should now know about the mission that is to come."
Scarlet Destiny Main Guild Room.
"Scarlet Destiny!" Jared shouted out loud drawing attention to him.
All the members turned towards Jared who was standing on a table. Silence came over the guild as they waited for their master to talk.
"Okay, so now that I have your attention I will be starting. But, first...Sarah, wake up Zolo." Jared commanded.
Each person in the guild instantly paled at the name. Even Genta looked just a bit disturbed at that name. Slowly, all eyes turned around till they lay upon Zolo's sleeping form.
The moment Zolo had come back from his last mission was about three months ago. The mission he took when he was introduced to Lucy, Wendy and the Exceeds. When he returned he literally feel asleep on the door-step of Scarlet Destiny. Jared and Genta had to move him out-of-the-way. Since then Zolo had stayed dormant for the past three months not waking up once. Veruna wasn't kidding about how long Zolo could sleep for.
Sarah slowly walked up to Zolo and each step she took each member was dreading it. Even Lucy looked like she was going to puke. Oh god, he was going to be awake again.
Sarah leaned down towards Zolo who was sleeping on the floor and gently placed her hands on his wide shoulders. Slowly she started to speak,
"Zolo! Zolo, wake up!" Sarah said.
Nothing. Zolo was still in a deep sleep.
"See not so easy is it?" Jared grumbled from his spot on top of a table.
Sarah nodded her head side to side and sighed. Then in a loud voice she said,
"Zolo, wake up! A new alcohol drink came in and it says that in just one cup you could get drunk for hours!"
Instantly, Lucy felt a pressure press against her chest. She had felt this one time before. It was Zolo's magic. It was even more suffocating then before. If it lasted any longer Lucy knew she wouldn't be able to take it.
Zolo slowly opened his brown eyes and at once spoke the words,
"I want twelve barrels of that stuff."
Everyone sighed in relief when they heard those words. It wasn't one of the worst things he could have said. The pressure of Zolo's magic was fading and Lucy could breath again. It wasn't as bad as before. Because this time she knew what to expect.
Zolo didn't seem that pissed off either for being awake. Maybe it was because of how Sarah woke him up or because he was just blinded by alcohol. Whatever the case Zolo wasn't that pissed off as he usually would be. There was a moment of silence when Sarah didn't respond to Zolo's command.
"... There is no alcohol like that is there?" Zolo asked slowly.
"Nope." Sarah replied with a soft smile.
Lucy knew that Zolo wouldn't do anything to hurt Sarah. Not if he wanted to get the wrath of Jared thrown at him. Zolo sighed deeply and crossed his arms over his chest and started to grumble inaudible words. If Lucy had to guest she would say that he was swearing.
"Zolo, your awake now so no point of complaining now. Anyway back with what I wanted to talk to you about.." Jared paused to take a deep breath "I and Sarah have just met up with the messenger of the council and we talked about an important matter. For all of you who don't know, who is mainly Zolo, that the new, strong dark guild Lacus Animarum that just emerged have killed many people including members of 'good' guilds. With the discussion with the messenger I have decided to select members to go on this special mission to destroy Lacus Animarum."
Silence for just a second.
"Who is going to go on this mission?" a faceless man asked.
"I'll get to that but first I need to say one more thing. This mission we're going to go on we're not going to be alone. The council has asked for us to parter up with another guild... Fairy Tail."
Loud mummers broke out at once at that guild's name. Most people knew about Lucy's past and they hated how much pain her previous guild had caused. To know they will be partnering up with such a guild was unbelievable. Lucy could feel like everyone was looking at her. They must be. She could feel the eyes all over her.
"Lucy." Ren whispered as he looked at the girl who he was sitting next too. Lucy head was down looking at the ground, her hair cast a shadow over her eyes.
"I know this must come as a shock but we have to partner with Fairy Tail. The council has said so and we must if we want to go on this mission. I have already asked Lucy about this and she has already given me permission to accept this mission. If anyone is really against my decision then speak now."
Silence. No one made a single sound.
"I see... So now for the people who will go on this mission. I and Sarah will both go on this special mission. Genta, you won't mind being the substitute Master, will you?"
Jared and Sarah would once in a while go on their own missions. It didn't matter if it was an S-class mission or not, they would go on it. Even though Jared and Sarah were the leaders of the guild they liked to have the experience of being in the guild. When they were away on missions, Genta would be a substitute Master meaning he would look after the guild while Sarah and Jared were gone.
"Of course I will be the substitute Master... I will look after this guild well while you are gone." Genta announced from his place behind the bartender table.
"Thank you," Jared paused to take a breath "Lucy will be coming on this mission. Along with her will be her team mates Ren, Kuro and Happy."
Ren looked over at Lucy, who also looked back at him and he smiled brightly,
"Al right, let's defeat Lacus Animarum!" Ren shouted out happily which caused Lucy to smile.
"I also want Wendy and Kouta to join in this mission as well. We will most likely need healers with us on this mission. Carla and Lily, both of you will join as well."
Wendy and Kouta, who were standing next to each other in the guild, looked at each other and smiled shyly. They have become very closed friends since they became mission partners. Carla and Lily were next to Kouta and Wendy and were standing behind the little twins, Mia and Miyah.
"I also want Mia and Miyah to join the mission. They may be young but they are powerful and can help against this unknown guild for sure." Jared informed them.
"Yes! Can't wait for this big mission!" Miyah said cheerfully as she looked at her twin.
"Also, Veruna and Nyx will come on the mission. You two will be very good for backup." Jared said.
Nyx and Veruna smiled and shared a look. This seemed to be a very big and important mission so they were happy that they would join in.
"And, lastly Zolo will also come on this mission. We will need him. The rest of the guild will stay behind."
Zolo just scoffed at that but didn't say anything more. It did looked that he might have objected to being put with a group but for now he was going to keep quiet.
"Wait!" shouted a young voice. All the members turned towards, Narria as who was standing with her team-mates.
"What about me? My team-mates are going, shouldn't I also be going?" she asked, her voice held a tint of anger.
Jared sighed and used his hand to quickly brush it through his hair,
"Narria, you cannot go on this mission. It is too dangerous for you to go."
"What!?" Narria shouted out in anger "but, Mia and Miyah are going and they are way younger than I am!"
"Yes, but Mia and Miyah can control their powers. You at this moment cannot. I am not risking you to go on this mission only to have you lose control of your powers. This is a weakness that the enemy will take advantage of. I don't want you to get hurt. That's why I'm not letting you go on this mission."
"B-but... I-" Narria's angry sentence was cut off by Nyx,
"Narria, listen to Jared. He is doing this for your own good. It's not that he doesn't believe you can't control your powers or anything like that but he is looking out for your well-being. Stop being stubborn and just listen to him." Nyx spoke softly.
Narria looked like she may have said something back but then she managed to stop her self. Her shoulders slump as she understood this. She would just get in their way. She didn't want that. She wanted to get stronger, get a hold of her power, then help the people she cared and loved.
"I'm sorry Narria...I want everyone to prepare for this mission. I'll inform the council and we will leave as soon as possible." Jared said.
Two Days Later. Fairy Tail Guild.
Mirajane stared blankly at the glass cup she was holding in her palms. The class was dusty, chalk-white and seemed to have not had a proper clean in ages.
Mirajane pushed a wet towel into the glass and started to slowly wipe across it. She felt hallow. Empty. Like something had reached inside of her and took something precious out of her.
Fairy Tail guild was unusually quiet. Apart from the soft mummers, there was no loud screaming, noise or sound. It was much how Mirajane was feeling inside of her. Things had changes and not for the better.
It was ever since Wendy and the Exceeds had left that this suffocating silence befell on the guild. Nobody would really laugh as they would. Nobody would smile like they used too.
It wasn't just the outside of the guild that had changed. The people inside of the guild had as well. Makarov seemed stricter then usual and was much more stressed out. Gajeel didn't mock or mood about as much as he used too. Carla's drinking had shortened a lot (though she still drunk a lot). Levy and her team-mates never seemed to be in the mood doing anything. Juvia wasn't in the guild that much either.
Then, you had Team Natsu. Gray was still acting as his usual self although it was easy to tell it was a façade. Erza didn't smile at all any more. Lisanna only spoke to Mirajane and Natsu and no one else unless she was forced too. Natsu himself had dimmed down. He much like Gray was keeping up a façade. Like now, he was picking a fight with Gray which seemed to humour other members.
All Fairy Tail members had come to the conclusion that the reason for this 'silence' was because of...Lucy. No one spoke her name any more yet they all blamed her for it. She was the cause of Wendy and Exceeds leaving. She was the cause of Natsu loosing Happy, his best friend. She was the cause of this. She was the cause of everything that had gone bad.
That's why everyday Fairy Tail pretended to enjoy it. Pretended to enjoy what was happening. They didn't care they had lost Lucy. The cared they lost Wendy and the Exceeds but not Lucy. She wasn't to be thought of any more. Lucy was seen as a forbidden word in the eyes of Fairy Tail.
Mirajane sighed as she finished cleaning off the last speck of dust. Fairy Tail was extremely quiet more today as they were waiting for a group of people from a guild known as Scarlet Destiny to arrive. Fairy Tail was to partner up with this guild to defeat Lacus Animarum. Not much was known about Scarlet Destiny except about the unique magic stuff.
Mirajane knew no one minded about joining Scarlet Destiny. Makarov wanted to avenge the members that Blue Pegasus so it was good to go on this mission. Mirajane herself couldn't wait to meet this guild. She had heard so little of them it made her so curious.
Suddenly, a loud, booming knock echoed through the guild causing it to erupt into silence. The origins of this knock was the closed-door of the guild. Scarlet destiny had arrived.
"Mirajane, open the door." Makarov commanded as he was sitting on the bar table, his legs crossed.
"Yes, Master." Mirajane replied before moving towards the door.
She wasn't the only one. All of Team Natsu had also moved to the door ready to meet the people they were going to join forces with. Natsu had a big smile on his face and seemed ready to face the people. Mirajane had a feeling that the boy was going to challenge the members of this guild into a fight.
Finally, Mirajane reached the door. Grasping the handles in her small hands, she tugged the door open slowly. Instantly light flooded through the door with a big massive shadow. The shadow was caused by a group of people standing in front of the door, standing tall and mighty.
Mirajane would have looked over the group if only one of them hadn't caught her eye. All the other people faded as she stared at this person in shock and dismay. This wasn't happening. This couldn't be happening. Before Mirajane knew it, she spoke the forbidden word that no one under any circumstance would a Fairy Tail member say,
"Lucy?!"
And, done! Told you Fairy Tail and Scarlet Destiny would meet in this chapter except not fully yet. Next chapter big stuff is going to be going down as you can tell. I really am sorry for this really long wait and I really hoped this chapter made up for it.
Also, NEW PICS FROM 'IONLYFEARNEVERTRYING'... Go on deviantart and search the name and see it. IF YOU WANT TO SEE REN THEN YOU SHOULD GO AND CHECK HIM OUT AS SHE DREW REN ALL DRAGONY (i have no idea why I wrote that in capital letter... Maybe to catch your attention?)
Also, do not worry about the character that are still behind in Scarlet Destiny and not on the mission. I will be referring to them in later chapters and writing about what they were doing.
Anyway, please, please, please review for this chapter as I would really like to know what you think.
Happy Easter! Till next time...See yh later!
