Hello! OH MY GOD I AM SOOOOOOOO SORRY! How long has it been since I updated this? Months? Please forgive me *Oh hands and knees' I can explain though! I just...lost my muse with the story. I couldn't write anything and wasn't super interested in writing anything at all. And, to make matters worse...My laptop broke DX and I just recently got a new one. But, I'm back and trying out writing this chapter. My muse isn't fully back so please forgive me if it's really bad. Thanks you very much for staying to this story and reading it still! I really have big plans for this and I hope to go back to my two-week update soon. Enough from me, here it is!
Disclaimer: I own nothing of Fairy Tail but Scarlet Destiny is all mine :)
"Open, gate of the fire demon! Keahi!"
Instantly, a bright, bolt of fire shot out of the black key in Lucy's hand, roaring with life. This only lasted for a few seconds, the flame started to dim, revealing the demon in place.
"So, you finally called me, huh?" Keahi, asked as he ran a hand through his fire hair without being phased.
Lucy's mouth formed a scowl at the words but knew it was just the cool way her demon acted like.
"Long time know see, Keahi!" Ren said cheerfully, almost like he forgot the sticky situation they were in.
The Slave assessed the new member critically. What was this? Who was this man? Although, the main thing that drew the Slave in was the man's hair. It was a blazing fire. How? This was just strange. Yet, he filed this information away at the back of his mind. He knew about the new guild Lucy was in, but he never imagined them to give her a new power...This could be troublesome in the future for his guild's plans.
As for Natsu, his thoughts were an array of confusion. He had no idea what this man was. How could Lucy have a key? His guild had taken all her spirits away. Was this a new Celestial Spirit? No, Natsu ditched that idea. This man no way resembled a spirit. Natsu remembered what Lucy had shouted out. Fire demon? Was this man a demon? Could that be possible? A small part of his brain looked at the man's hair with a bit of hunger. The fire did look strong and delicious after all.
Keahi gave Ren a smirk before focusing on his task. His whole purpose now was to protect and strengthen Lucy. He turned his eye towards the enemy. So, this was a person in the 'Lacus Animairum' guild?
"Keahi, careful. He's a sneaky one." Lucy spoke up as her body tensed in anticipation.
"He doesn't look like much to me." Keahi scoffed stretching his fingers out in excitement.
The Slave's reaction was to give a bright, fake, grin.
"Oh~ This has just got so much more exciting!" the Slave laughed as he raised both his hands upwards.
They began to glow.
Keahi's bright eyes widened slightly, but he was all but ready. He quickly raised both his hands upwards in a quick motion. A fire wall burst forth from the ground raising high above him and his companions.
Just in time too.
Two blue balls flew out of the Slave palms and went straight into the smouldering fire. They started to vanish, as the pure fire burned the material of the balls until there was nothing left.
"So they burn, huh?" Keahi laughed out loud.
Just brilliant. The fire wall burned out so the Slave could once again see his targets again. Lucy couldn't help but feel relief settle in her body. If the sticky substance could burn then she and Keahi were at an advantage. They could just burn away any of the balls flying towards them. Ren could feel the same warmth settle in his stomach.
The Slave didn't reply but just grinned still. With his palms still out, they began to glow once again. Keahi readied himself by creating another fire wall.
Natsu couldn't believe this. It could burn. Then, what was he still doing on this wall? Happy was thinking the same thing as he quickly looked at Natsu and yelled.
"Natsu, burn the stuff!"
He didn't need to be told twice. Quickly, he focused his magic on the hand that was trapped to his chest. The hand began to set on fire almost instantly at will. He knew his own flame wouldn't burn him but maybe his clothes. A dry ashy smell filled Natsu's nose as his clothes began to burn. He couldn't wait to join this fight and beat the hell out of this slave guy.
The fire spreading out of his arm disappeared slowly and Natsu tried to pull his hand off his chest. Except...he couldn't. He looked down at his chest in disbelief. The blue sticky was still all over his chest. His hand was still stuck.
"What the..."
This didn't make any sense. The spirit Lucy's called out flames burnt those blue ball. Why couldn't he? Unless...the blue balls weren't real but just a decoy. Natsu's eyes widened as his mind suddenly got it. The Slave had once again pulled a trick. Natsu's head snapped up towards Lucy and the others just in time to see the Slave launched another two blue balls.
"WATCH OUT! THE BALLS DON'T BURN!"
Natsu's warning was too late. This time the two balls went straight through the fire wall without burning. Keahi's eyes widened in surprise as one landed smash dabbed across his arm trapping it to the side of his body. The force of the blow knocked him to the ground. The other was slightly out of direction and luckily flew over Keahi's head.
"KEAHI!" Lucy and Ren shouted at the same time.
Lucy was the first to reach the demon sprawled on the ground, worry etched on her face. Ren quickly followed. The fire wall that did nothing disappeared as Keahi lost concentration revealing a grinning Slave. Too easy.
"You are going to pay for that!" Ren yelled as he clenched his hands into tight fist.
With a loud battle cry, he rushed towards the Slave. His hands engulfed in hot pressurised water as he quickly threw a punch towards the Slave face. The slave ducked low and lashed out a leg towards Ren. Luckily, Ren saw straight through the move and jumped backwards avoiding the attacked all together.
"Ooh, it seems you have some hand to hand combat skills." the Slave mused as he raised his hands up "Let's see if it can keep up with mine."
Both began to throw attacks against each other. Ren knew he wasn't the best at hand to hand combat. He was nowhere near Zolo's or Genta's level nor was he as good as Kuro. But, he was average at the art and could hold his own. While, he threw punches he realised the Slave wasn't that great at it either. It was only his small height and slyness that managed to help him evade Ren's punches.
"Keahi, are you okay?" Lucy asked as she quickly helped her demon into a siting position.
Keahi didn't seem hurt, more just surprised he was hit. He knew he really needed to control his weakness of relying too much on his magic abilities.
"I'm fine, just don't touch the blue substance all over my arm. I don't want you to get stuck to me."
Lucy nodded her head as she studied it. It was just like some one splashed blue paint all over the left side of Keahi's body. His arm was trapped to his side and she could see Keahi struggling against it.
"I can't fight with only one hand. I won't be any help. Looks like your going to have to take my place." Keahi smirked.
"I-I can't Keahi. I haven't gotten full strength over your fire power." Lucy replied back unsure.
"It took me a hundred years to get a handle of my power. I know you only have had three months on training, but you have progressed well. Have some faith in yourself. You can't let Ren fight alone."
Lucy mouth open to argue but she couldn't. She had to help Ren. He had saved her and now it was her turn to make it up to him. Lucy let a firm nod as she brought her determined gaze to Keahi's eyes.
Keahi smiled coolly as his free hand reached towards Lucy's temple.
The Slave gritted his teeth as he dodged yet another furious punch from Ren. This wasn't good at all. He needed to lose this fight. But, he couldn't make it obvious. If he was to let the blue haired boy knock him out with hand to hand combat then they could notice he did this on purpose. This fight really couldn't last longer. He needed to lose now. But, how the hell was he going to this without anyone noticing?
"Fire Blast!"
The attacked surprised the trickster. He had been so focused on his thoughts that he hadn't even see it coming. A hot, burning sensation hit his right side and he felt his feet leave the steady ground as he was thrown backwards like a ragged doll. It took him a couple of seconds to get up into a kneeling position as he gasped for breath. Parts of his clothing on his side was singed from the blast and the skin revealed was bright red. Shit.
Lucy, in her fire form, smiled happily as she saw the effects of her attacked. That should teach this Slave to hurt her friends!
"Way to go, Lucy!" Ren cheered as Keahi let out a proud smile.
Natsu stared at the scene in complete and utter shock. Lucy had just show out fire from her palms...How? She couldn't use fire! It was impossible! Lucy couldn't be that strong! She couldn't ever attack someone like that! Yet, he had seen the unbelievable. That fire attacked was just as strong as one of his own. Natsu looked over Lucy again and her shocking appearance. It looked like she was a complete different person. The bright orange hair made her seem more of a stranger to him. What had Lucy become?
The Slave staggered into a standing position, still grinning. How interesting... She could control fire...How his Master would be so please with this fact. The spirit or rather demon she controlled gave her the power. He was really enjoying how his problem had sought itself out. Since, he had taken a big hit, he could not fake his capture easily. But, still, he wanted to test out this new power Lucy seemed to have.
"Don't think that blast will stop me!" Slave yelled as he raised only one hand.
His other hand stung from the fire that had just recently burnt it that he could barely move it.
"Lucy, quickly! Create a fire wall!" Ren shouted.
Lucy looked confusingly at Ren. A fire wall? Why? That wouldn't work. The blue balls couldn't be burnt. Why would Ren ask her to create one? Ren's eyes was looking earnestly in her own as if trying to communicate with no words. Did he have some sort of plan? Lucy followed her guts. She trusted Ren had an idea of what he was doing.
Raising both her arms she concentrated on trying to raise a fire wall much like Keahi had done. Although, she couldn't fully do it. She looked as a very thin layer of fire appeared in front of her. There was no way she could do it on her own. She didn't have enough control yet.
"I'll help you!" Keahi grunted from behind her as he too concentrated on the basic wall that Lucy conjured up.
The fire wall suddenly interrupted with Keahi's help which filled Lucy with confident. The heat of the fire beat against her face as the fire wall grew and evolved.
The Slave on the other hand could feel himself thrown. What was the point of this defence? They knew his blue substance couldn't burn. His hand glowed as a blue ball formed. He decided to launched it at the wall.
The ball headed straight at the wall and went right through it undamaged. Luckily, Lucy knew this was going to happen. She quickly dropped to the ground avoiding the deadly ball entirely. While, she did this, she caught a glimpse of Ren launching up into the air with his wings.
Ren flew above the fire wall swiftly and headed straight for the Slave who was steady on the floor. As soon as he did this, Lucy figured out why Ren had commanded her to construct a fire wall. It was to distract the Slave. While, the man was concentrating on the wall he wasn't looking above or anywhere else so Ren could launch a surprise attack.
"Time to finish this!" Ren yelled as he took a deep breath,
"Water Dragon Roar!"
The Slave watched at the huge amount of water flew to him. His eyes widened in shock. The dragon slayer had got him. Sill the attack was a bit too slow. The Slave knew he could dodge it. Yet...he didn't.
He faked the look of pain. He faked not being able to move. He let the attack hit him. As pain flew through his body and once again he was knocked off his feet. As his back made contact to a nearby wall, there was a loud clang. His vision blurred and darkened. While, it did he let out a small smile. His part was done. He hoped he had done his Master, and Blue proud.
Phase One: Getting captured:Complete.
Fairy Tail Guild.
Jared eyes skimmed across the faces of his members as they each looked at each other with a bit of excitement and anticipation. They were currently all crowed around a dark brown oak door in one of Fairy Tail's many narrow hallway.
Jared had to admit to himself that he was very shocked when Lucy, Ren, Natsu and Happy had returned with an unconscious member of 'Lacus Animairum'. It all felt very strange to him. He at once asked for a full report of what happened and how they came across a member of the dark guild. When they did explain it to him, Jared felt things were even fishier.
Why would a member of 'Lacus Animairum' just appear like that and attacked? It was obvious they were trying to keep a down low of things. Why suddenly reveal themselves?
Sarah was the most worried when she heard that Ren, Lucy and Happy had been attacked. She had fussed over them making sure they were alright. All three assured her that they weren't hurt at all. They explained the magic the Slave had and how annoying it had been. Once they managed to knock the Slave unconscious, the substance that stuck Natsu to the wall seemed to crack apart releasing him.
It seemed somehow that the substance only worked when the Slave was conscious. Keahi was the most hurt out of all of them but he had informed Lucy that once he went back to his realm he would be automatically be healed before the next time Lucy would call him out.
The reason his guild were crowded around the one door was because in the room it hid, was where the Slave was. Fairy Tail was adamant to keep the Slave in their base. Maybe it was because they still didn't fully trust Scarlet Destiny yet. Jared didn't complain though. He knew it was best to keep the Slave in Fairy Tail guild since they had the most resources to keep him at bay.
"Damn, I can't believe you took down a member of Lacus Animairum." Kuro muttered as he looked over Ren.
"Jealous?" Ren teased as he raised an eyebrow.
Kuro just scoffed to return. He was hoping to face off against a member of this dark guild. He wasn't the only one either. Veruna and Nyx seemed to be a bit disappointed that they didn't get to see any action either. Zolo was probably the most pissed though, he had itched for a fight and not to get it was really playing on his nerves.
Suddenly, a loud creak brought the group's attention to the oak door opening revealing a few members of Fairy Tail. It was Makarov at the front, a not so amused look on his face. Behind him was Mirajane, Erza, Gray and Natsu who looked easily more annoyed.
"How did your interrogation with this Slave go?" Jared asked.
Fairy Tail master was very keen on taking care of the Slave and getting information out of him. He took his most important members into the room where they were keep the dark guild member for an interrogation. Fairy Tail members, mainly Ren and Zolo, were angry that they took control. Jared told them to let it go. It was okay if Fairy Tail tried to get information first.
"Bad!" Natsu grumbled "Every question we asked the Slave evaded by either laughing or just playing around with words! He didn't say anything!"
"Should have let me go first," Zolo started as he lay a hand over one of his swords "I would have him squeal like a pig."
Scarlet Destiny members sweat dropped at the very deadly and murderous aura surrounding the S-class mage. If he was to take control of the interrogation, things would go bad down hill.
"We want to get information out of him Zolo, not torture him to death." Jared spoke up.
"Torture is the best way to get information." Zolo retorted.
Jared sighed before bringing his attention to Makarov.
"Can we try to get some information out of the Slave?"
"What makes you think you can get him to talk when we couldn't?" Makarov snapped back.
"We have our ways." Jared replied simply.
Makarov stared at the master of Scarlet Destiny. He knew there was no way that he or his guild mates would leave without trying to have a go at the Slave. He stepped to the side allowing a small space to be made.
"Have a go."
Everything was so quiet in the room. Lucy couldn't help but swallow hard against the lump forming in her throat. The room was freezing cold, empty. There was no furniture. The only item there was, was a small wooden chair where the Slave sat at the entre of the room.
Both his feet was wrapped to the chair's legs with rope tightly. His arms were strapped around the back of the chair and handcuffed in place. The handcuffed was specially made to stop any magic to go to the Slave's hands meaning he had no way of attacking.
Scarlet Destiny members spread around the barren room, making a loose circle around the Slave. Each stared at the Slave like hawks just in case he tried something funny. There was no Fairy Tail members in the room, it was all Scarlet Destiny which made Lucy feel a bit at ease. She knew if there were any members of her former guild it might make it harder for this interrogation.
The Slave didn't seem fazed at all though. A large cat-like smile graced his face as he slowly looked around the room, judging everyone. Lucy really hated he was wearing goggles since she really couldn't see his eyes.
"Slave, right?" Jared spoke up, breaking the silence as he stepped forwards right in front of the Slave.
The man cocked his head sideways as his eyes creeped up and down Jared's body. Lucy could see Jared still had a perfect poker face on as he looked to be ignoring the Slave doing this.
"Ah!" the Slave suddenly blurted out loud "I know who you are! The master of Scarlet Destiny! Your really young aren't you?"
"I suppose I am," Jared replied back briskly "And, what about you? I doubt your real names Slave."
"Oooh ~ Heading straight for information now aren't you?"
"No point of playing game."
"Aw~ But I really like playing games."
Instead of Jared answering, Zolo spoke up,
"Better watch you words. Your going to be singing information very soon."
Slave twisted his head to the side and looked over at Zolo, grinning madly.
"I know who you are as well! The S-Class mage of Scarlet Destiny. I've heard about how much of a real, heartless monster you are. No remorse or pity from you."
Zolo's eyes widened slightly by those words. How the hell did this random person know that? Did he know who he really was? Who he was in the past?
"Why would you say that?" Sarah spoke up as she stood directly by Jared.
The Slave looked at her unblinking.
"You...I know you! You're the second in command of Scarlet Destiny...Except your too emotional. Practically a cry baby."
A flicker of hurt was seen on Sarah's face by the Slave's words. Jared's eyes showed a brief emotion of anger.
"Watch your words..." Jared spoke between gritted teeth, not at all pleased someone would refer to Sarah like that.
"You seem to know a lot about our guild...You did your research on us, huh?" Kuro spoke up from his leaning position against the wall.
"Well, you know what they say? Know thy enemy." Slave remarked back.
"Except we know nothing about you." Veruna replied back.
The Slave seemed to just shrug in return. All Scarlet Destiny members seemed to be much more careful. Why did he seem to know so much about Scarlet Destiny? How did he know so much? Scarlet Destiny was really secretive but the Slave seemed to know each of them like he was their long-lost friend.
"Why did you attack us?" Lucy decided to speak up in the interrogation.
Slave turned his head towards her which cause Lucy to gulp hard. She really hated she couldn't see his eyes. Eyes were like doors to a person's soul and right now she couldn't see his.
"My guild heard that you were looking for us. We decided it was the right time now to reveal ourselves. But, we always like to have a grand entrance. What better way then to start a fight?"
"How many people are in your guild?" Nyx spoke up suddenly.
Slave again snapped his head towards her. He paused studying her.
"You really look like them, you know?"
Nyx blinked and suddenly straightened her posture, a confused look on her face.
"What?!"
"Oh, nothing!" sang Slave as he looked down at his lab obviously ending that line of though.
Almost everyone quickly looked at Nyx who looked extremely confused. It looked Slave almost gave something. But, why? What did he say even mean?
"Why have you been going around killing members of good guilds?" Wendy suddenly blurted out.
She seemed to be shocked by doing so, especially when Slave looked at her but she held her own against his stare.
"That's because..." the pause seemed to cause a few people to lean in "It's a secret!"
Zolo growled lowly at the words not at all pleased. Everyone had to agree with him. This Slave was really pushing his lunch. Now Scarlet Destiny knew what Natsu meant when he said the Slave was dodging each of their questions.
"We're going to keep asking questions until you answer, ugly man!" Miya shouted out loud in anger.
"Ugly?! Who you calling ugly!?" Slave balked.
Everyone had to sweat drop at that. Leave Miya to be the one to say something like that. At least it seemed to help decrease the thick tension.
"What is your plan? What is your goal by doing all of this?" Jared spoke up to the Slave.
From what he had gathered so far, was that this Slave seemed to be an exceptional actor. He only say what was needed to be said. While his looks did look idiotic, the person inside of it was not. He knew what to say. He thought before he spoke.
"You'll find out about our plan very soon. Very soon indeed. There is no need to get so worked up. Just sit back and relax. Enjoy the show. When the time comes you will all beg for mercy." the Slave said out loud, leaning back on his chair and yawning loudly.
Scarlet Destiny House In Magnolia.
Lucy yawned loudly as she wondered down a corridor to her room. Today had been so tough and tiring. She was exhausted. Her limbs ached a lot. She actually couldn't wait to slip into her comfy bed and fall into a deep sleep.
The interrogation hadn't gone that well. It had been for a few hours and they barely got anything out of the Slave at all. It was all very annoying. The arms that was crossed over her chest tightened in annoyance. That Slave was so annoying!
Jared had told Fairy Tail to keep a close eye on the Slave and that he would try a different technique of interrogation with the Slave tomorrow. She knew he wouldn't resort to anything like torture. It wasn't like him at all so she did wonder what he had got planned.
Suddenly, Lucy stopped in tracks. A cold breeze washed over her body and she quickly looked to her side where it originated from. Her eyes were answered by the front door of the house being left wide open. Confused, shouldn't it be locked?
Lucy quickly walked to the door and was about to do the chore herself when she spotted the figure of the person who was sitting peacefully on the porch of the house.
"Ren?"
The boy in question spun around swiftly, his body on edge for second, before he realized who it was.
"Oh, it's you, Lucy."
"Yeah it's me," Pause "What are you doing outside in the night?"
Ren's reply was to just shrug and he turned around and tilt his head upwards to look at the dark sky.
Lucy had to admit she was kind of worried about him. Ever since Slave had attacked he had acted a bit strangely. He hadn't once spoken up in the interrogation. Didn't ask the Slave even one question. She found it weird and very unlike him.
Knowing she had to get to the root of the problem, she slipped past the door and quickly settled herself close next to Ren. She too decided to look up at the sky. It was one of those days where you couldn't see even one single star.
She decided to just sit in silence for a few moments and breathe the night air. Then, she turned to her partner who didn't seem to react to her at all.
"Is everything alright Ren?"
Her voice seemed to spook Ren for a second as he turned to her, giving her a grin.
"Of course! Why would you ask that?!"
His cheerfulness seemed obviously forced.
"Your not acting like yourself ever since we got attacked by Slave. Don't think I didn't notice. Now, what's wrong?"
Ren let out a sigh before raising a hand to his head.
"It's nothing at all Lucy. Seriously, it's stupid."
"Listen, Ren. You can tell me, okay. I won't judge you."
There was only silence from Ren. She knew things were getting tense very slowly. She could feel it wrapping around her body like a snake slowly wrapping around its prey. What could have Ren in this position?
"Well...I just...When the Slave nearly hit you with those blue balls...I felt horrible, you know? I thought I was going to lose you...And, I really can't lose someone I care about again! I felt that I was...And, it really hurt."
Lucy blinked in surprise. She felt so touched by his words. Ren cared about her this much that he was getting worked up about it? She had no idea what to think or what to say back to him to make him feel comfortable.
"You save my life back then, Ren. Why feel so bad about it? I should be the one thanking you so much!"
"What if I didn't save you? What if I was too late? What if you got hurt really badly?" Ren said quickly, in clear panic.
Lucy understand the 'What if's' very well. She always wondered what if her mother was alive. She always wondered what if she didn't run away from home. But, she learnt a long time ago not to dwell on the 'What if's'.
Before, Lucy even realised what she had done, she reached out and grabbed Ren's left hand that was the closest to her. His eyes widened in surprise by the move and he could feel the warmth from her hand. Lucy fidgeted slightly, as she could feel Ren's exploring eyes all over her face. She felt so embarrassed holding his hand suddenly and she knew she couldn't look into his eyes.
"Don't think about the 'What If's, Ren. I'm here now with you. And, the reason that I am is because of you. So, please don't think about that stuff."
Ren still stared at her in shock. Slowly, he tightened the grip on her hand almost like it was his only life line, the one thing he felt really sure about.
"I lost someone once. I don't want to lose someone else again. Especially you."
The words blurted out of Ren's mouth so suddenly. He could feel his cheeks brightened up and he refused to look at Lucy's gaze. Clearing her throat, Lucy decided to quickly say something else to hopefully make Ren feel a bit more at ease,
"This other person you lost...Was it your dragon?"
She heard the hard gulp as Ren swallowed so clearly.
"Yes." Ren whispered, pain etched into his voice.
Lucy could relate. She knew exactly how he felt. When she lost her mother...It was the worst day of her life. But, she couldn't talk about that. Right now, it was about Ren. Not her.
"You will find your dragon one day, I promise."
Ren managed to bring up a weak smile on his face.
"I wish...I wish I met Scarlet Destiny as soon as I lost my dragon."
Now, that confused Lucy. She looked at Ren's face in utter shock. What did he mean by that? Didn't he join Scarlet Destiny as soon as he lost his dragon? He must have. That's what happened with Natsu. He joined Fairy Tail not long after he lost his dragon.
"What do you-"
The sentence that Lucy said was suddenly stop by Ren who whimpered out,
"I'll never find my dragon."
The few simple words shocked Lucy to the core. Ren's grip on her hand loosened so much that she barely felt it wrapped around her hand anymore. What did he mean? Why on earth would he say that?
"Ren! That's-"
Again Lucy was cut off dramatically by Ren.
"How...How can you find someone you don't even know?"
Confusing ran through her body. What did Ren mean? What was he saying? What happened?
"It doesn't matter now, Lucy...I've come to terms with it. I'm okay not knowing. I'm okay not knowing who raised me."
Before, Lucy could even stutter another word, Ren suddenly shot off the floor, dropping her hand in the process. The said hand fell limply onto her lap. What was this pain? In Ren's words and eyes? Why had she never seen it before? Why had she never seen this strong pain ever?
"Thanks for the talk, Lucy...It really help...I'm going to go now."
Ren rushed off the porch almost like it was on fire. Lucy shook her head almost like she had step over some invisible boundary. Quickly, she stood up wand rushed towards the door that led in the house. Once past it she look down the corridor and Ren's retreating back form.
"Ren!" Lucy shouted out loud.
There wasn't a reply. Ren walked briskly and quickly turned the corner leaving Lucy's gaze. Lucy on the other hand was prepared to run after him until a voice suddenly spoke up behind her,
"Leave him be."
Lucy spun around swiftly hands raised, heart racing in her hand. She was about to deliver a powerful Lucy kick to the person that surprised her but her brain was quickly to register who the hell it was.
"Kuro?!"
The black-eyed boy gave her swift smile before his eyes disconnected from hers and looked over the corridor Ren had disappeared into.
"Leave Ren alone right now. He just needs some space."
"You were listening in on the conversation?!"
Kuro could feel the anger pouring out of Lucy for ease dropping. Shit. He let out a small, sheepish smile and rubbed a hand across the back of his hair.
"I-I didn't mean too! I was really just going past the corridor but I saw the door was open. So, I decided to close it but I caught you and Ren talking and happened to listen in. Forgive me!"
Lucy looked on angry at Kuro and huffed in annoyance. Really, sometimes, there was no privacy in Scarlet Destiny. Deciding to forgive him, for now at least, she wanted to talk about Ren.
"Did I offend Ren?" Lucy asked worriedly.
"No, you didn't...You just brought up a painful subject for him."
"I know it was painful...But, the way Ren was acting...There's something more to it, isn't there?" Lucy said, her tone a demanding one.
"Lucy, you see with Ren...He is the best at hiding his pain. From all of Scarlet Destiny, Ren is the best at hiding his sorrow through fake smile's, laughs and grins. He does it all time. If you're a stranger and happen to come across Ren, you would think that he is the happiest person in the world. But, it's a façade. Just a façade."
Lucy eyebrows drew together.
"Why? Why is Ren in so much pain?" Lucy demanded to know.
"I really can't fully tell you...It's Ren's story and he has to tell you. But, I can tell you something...What happened when Natsu and Wendy lost their dragon?"
The question from Kuro took Lucy a back for a second but she answered nether less,
"Natsu joined Fairy Tail soon after his dragon disappeared and as for Wendy, she met a person who took care of her and they travelled around together a lot."
Kuro nodded his head at her answer and let out a grim smile.
"When Ren lost his dragon...he didn't come straight to Scarlet Destiny. When he lost his dragon, he met people who caused him so much pain. That treated him like an animal and worse. They made him forgot the most important person to him at that time. They made him forget about his dragon."
Lucy eyes widened. She didn't fully understand what Kuro meant. But, whatever happened to Ren seemed to be very bad. And, she hated it. Her guts twisted in anger. What happened to Ren? Who the hell hurt him? How did they hurt him?
"But, you know Lucy," Kuro started "You do Ren some good. You caused a great influence in him even though you may not think so. Ever since he met you, became your mission partner, his smiles and grins have become real. I have to thank you for that! You really are great for Ren!"
Lucy stared at Kuro in amazement. She sometimes forgot through all the fighting that Kuro and Ren did that they were very close. Practically brothers.
"Just leave all this for now. Trust me, when Ren's ready he'll tell you. Just get some rest. Tomorrows going to be a big day."
"Thanks Kuro. I really forget how much you love Ren, sometimes."
"What? I don't love the idiot!"
"You so do! So, when is your guys wedding again? I can't wait for my invitation!"
"S-S-Shut up!" Kuro blubbered out, his cheeks turning bright red in embarrassment.
Lucy laughed out loud, feeling free. Lucy smiled at Kuro, feeling a lot better. The dark guy could really lift your spirits some time.
"You really are the devil's incarnation, sometimes, you know?"
"That's what I aim to be!" Lucy laughed back.
Kuro smiled as he reached a hand forward towards Lucy head and quickly ruffled a hand through her blonde hair messing it up, much how a loving brother would do to his sister. Lucy let out a sound of annoyance yet Kuro smirked satisfying at her.
"Get a good night sleep."
Lucy grinned and nodded her hair. She really loved the moments with Kuro. He was like the brother she never had, the brother she secretly always wanted.
Fairy Tail Guild
Slave breathed slowly, in and out as he looked around the room. Things were quite. So quite. Slave grinned widely. This was just perfect.
There were two other people in the room with him. Fairy Tail members babysitting him making sure he didn't escape or cause trouble. They were talking to each other a lot while trying to keep an eye on him. Slave had to admit they weren't doing a bad job of watching him...Too bad he was a slippery prisoner.
"Excuse me..." Slave spoke up as he learned against the back of his chair and got ready.
It was now. Time to get his next phase into action.
"What the hell do you want?" one of the man snapped at him, looking at him cautiously.
It was a man with orange hair covered by a long brown hat. The other man also looked cautious, with his hair styled with a large point at the top of his head.
"Hm, if I'm correct your names are...Jet and Droy right?"
Both men didn't say another word.
"Yeah, listen up...I really had a great time being prisoned in this room and all but I'm sorry but I'm going to have to leave now."
"What?" Jet exploded while Droy seemed to sweat bullets.
"Have a great time while you're in pain!"
What happened next was too fast for both men to apprehend.
There were two sickening cracks as Slave jerked forward and raised his arms upwards trying to get it over the back part of the chair. He gritted his teeth through the pain and even though his shoulders felt like they were going to snap in half he kept on raising them until he managed to raise it above the chair back and over. It only took a few seconds before he managed to get his arms unstrapped from the chair.
"Stop!" Jet shouted.
Droy ran forwards as if to punch Slave out but before he could the latter quickly tilted onto his feet and swung around. The hind legs hit Droy full force across his legs taking him out. The hind legs broke apart along with the back of the chair that snapped.
"Droy!" Jet shouted as he ran towards his partner.
Droy was on the floor gripping his legs in pain. His plant pouches he used for his magic was flung to the right hand corner. He knew his legs took most of that hit and it would be painful for him to stand.
"Jet, stop the prisoner."
Jet nodded his head and quickly turned his furious gaze to Slave. How dare this man hurt his childhood friend!? He will pay.
Focusing on his magic, Jet sprinted forward with high-speed and lashed out a leg, aimed for Slave's face. Unfortunately, for Jet he did not see Slave's menacing grin.
"Falcon Heavenward!"
Slave was ready. The minute Jet was about to hit, Slave spun around and raised his bounded hands. Jet's kick landed right between the chain of the handcuffs. His strike cut through the simple chain causing the rest of the handcuffs to break apart leaving Slave unbounded.
Jet stumbled a few steps in utter shock.
"What the-"
He didn't expect to break the handcuffs. He realized his mistake at once.
Slave grinned as he slowly turned around rubbing at his freed wrist. He could feel his magic once against return to his fingertips.
"Thank you very much for getting rid of those pesky handcuffs!"
Before, Jet could even start another attack, one of Slave's hands started to glow. Jet looked at it in horror. Shit. Slave moved his hand backwards before launching it forwards again, a blue ball flying out of his hand in high-speed.
Jet couldn't dodge it.
The blue ball smashed onto Jet's face, covering it in a blue sticky substance. Loud screams muffled from the substance as Jet struggled to rip it off his face. It basically covered his whole face. He couldn't breath.
Slave watched amused as Jet struggled with the substance. A few moments later there was a loud crash as Jet dropped to the floor, unconscious because of the substance that deprived him of oxygen.
"Jet..." Droy whispered as he tried to get up.
He couldn't. His plant pouch was too far from him so he couldn't reach. So, he did the next best thing.
"HELP!" Droy screamed, "HELP! SOMEONE!"
Slave let out an annoyed breath as he suddenly heard the door to the room open. He quickly finished off a few small things in record time.
At once, two people rushed into the room. They had at first been guarding outside of the room but they heard the screams. It was a man and women. The girl had long green hair while the man had shaggy black hair.
"Jet! Droy! What happened?" Bisca shouted out loud.
At once she spotted the unconscious Jet with some blue much all over his face as well as Droy who was currently on the floor, a few feet away from him. But the main thing was the broken chair and the missing dark guild member.
Alzack quickly rushed to Droy whose eyes were wide open, fear in them. His mouth was covered in the blue substance which stopped him from speaking. Alzack reached forward to rip it off completely forgetting that it could stick. His hand stuck to the material and he tried desperately to try to get it off.
"What the hell?"
"Alzack! Your not meant to touch it! Shit, where the prisoner!?" Bisca asked again to no one in anger, as her eyes wandered all over the room.
Then...
"Well, you know what they say...What goes up must come down!"
Bisca eyes hot up to the ceiling to see Slave hanging from it. Her mouth dropped open. The thing she didn't know was that Slave was currently using his sticky substance all over his hand and feet to stick to the wall.
Suddenly, Slave dropped down right on top of Bisca who cried out.
"B-Bisca!" Alzack screeched as his partner went down. He tried to run to her but he was pulled back since his hand was still stuck to Droy.
Bisca eye vision blurred and something heavy was on her back keeping her down. She felt something grab her hair and painfully yank it back.
"Time to go sleepy!" Slave shouted as his free hand formed a blue ball.
Alzack could only watch in horror as Slave wacked the blue ball into Bisca's face. Bisca yelled out uselessly. Her face, like Jet's was covered in the blue substance and slowly, her oxygen was being stolen away.
Slave let go of Bisca's hair and slowly got off her. Then, he looked over to Alzack who looked terrified. He couldn't move. Slave grinned. Another ball formed. Another target hit. Alzack gasped as he vision was robbed and his breath too. The substance covered his mouth and nose. He couldn't breathe. Soon, his head felt light-headed. And, then it just went blank.
Slave laughed out loud. That was just too easy. He slowly walked over to the only man who was currently conscious. Droy looked up at Slave with fear and hatred.
"Why such evil look?" Slave asked rather innocently "Don't worry. Your friends are just unconscious. They'll survive. Your lucky I didn't kill them. I'm letting them survive to send a message. If Fairy Tail or Scarlet Destiny want my dark guild...Then tell them to follow me!"
Slave turned around after the message was sent. He literally skipped to the open and unprotected door.
Phase Two...Infiltration: Complete.
And done! So, what do you guys think of this very long chapter! I love the Ren X Lucy bit I wrote in there...And, my god, I know Slave is evil and all but I just love writing in his view! He is positively insane! I also added a Kuro and Lucy moment. I just felt that instead of saying that both have a brother/sister relationship I also wanted to show it, and I think I did that here. Also, shit, Slave's escaped...Not good, Not good at all.
Appearances by the minor characters in this chapter too...WOOH!
So, please review and tell me what you think of this chapter and my comeback!
Till next time...See yh!
