This includes the beginning of the first battle! Now, let's go on to the show!

Disclaimer: I own nothing of Fairy Tail but Scarlet Destiny is all mine :D

The mansion was very foreboding. Never had a building ever given off such a creepy aura. Just the sight of it, caused displeasure and fear to settle in the stomach of many Fairy Tail and Scarlet Destiny members. Maybe, the beady grey bricks and walls were the cause or the looming towers that caused wayward shadows to spread across the front court-yard. Whatever the case, there was no denying it. There was something sickly wrong.

"Damn, if that doesn't scream out 'do-not-enter-unless-you-have-a-death-wish' then I don't know what does." Veruna mused as her eyes trailed over the mansion.
She like all the rest of the members of her guild and Fairy Tail were just staring at the building, different thoughts whizzing across their minds. The mansion was what caught everyone's attention and no one dared to stray their eyes from the impending building.

"Seriously Veruna? You're really going to say that aloud?" Nyx asked ludicrously as she finally ripped her gaze from the building, to raise a questioning eyebrow at her friend.

"Well, why not? I mean we're all thinking it. This mansion thingy is seriously creeping us out. I don't know what it is about the thing, but there is something seriously wrong and..." Veruna started to drone on causing Nyx to sweat drop and try to ignore the droning answer.

"I can't spot Lucy or Ren anywhere." Kuro spoke up as he slid his gaze all over the area, as if to spot a glimpse of blonde or blue hair.

"Their scent is coming from the building. Looks like they already entered it...but, the building smells really strange...Tsk." Gajeel trailed off, raising a hand to rub his twitching nose.

"What does it smell like, Scary Man?" Mia spoke up softly, arms crossed over her chest in some sort of protection.

"Just wrong." Gajeel replied simply not one for explaining stuff.

"Looks like we were a little too late, sorry." Kuro said sheepishly as he raised a hand to his head.

"You did great Kuro. We would have been really late if it wasn't for your Kuro Express Way," Jared started to speak before carrying on "There's no point now of staying outside. We should go inside the building if Lucy and Ren are inside."

No one argued with that. They could already be late as it was. They had no way of telling how long Lucy, Ren and Natsu had been inside the building. The group of mages easily made their way up the step of the mansion before they entered the mansion through the open door.

At once, there were small gasps from the sight as soon as they entered the building. The group of mages were in a large hall. Very large. The floor was covered in a plush blood-red carpet, soft to touch yet the colour was strangely concerning. There was a dwindling staircase leading to a balcony that held three separate door ways opposite the door.

Another doorway was on the far-right hand side and opposite that, there was an exact replica on the far left hand side. Large, crystal chandeliers hanged from the walls, but instead of light bulbs, there were lit candles brightening the hallway in a slightly eerie glow. Apart from that, the hallway was rather empty, no furniture in sight.

This was nothing compared to what any them had expected. Most people expected crooked and cracked walls, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and in corners and other types or bugs crawling all over. Nope, the place was spotless. Not a dirty patch in sight. The sight that met the mages was rather luxurious.

"Looks like someone has some taste." Gray snorted as his eyes trailed over the rather luxurious setting.

Most people had to agree with that. Looks like Lacus Animairum had some money to spend.

"Okay listen up!" Jared spoke out loud, quickly gaining their attention as he took control "We need to come up with a plan. Gajeel, Wendy, do you think you can track down Lucy, Ren and Natsu?"

"Sorry, Jared we can't. The buildings smell is messing with my nose...I and I'm pretty sure Gajeel won't be able to track down them since their scent is mixing too much up with the building. We can't track them." Wendy explained, one hand-held up to her nose, like she couldn't take the smell.

Jared sighed and quickly ran a hand through his hair. It would have been so much easier if they could just track down the trio right away, but that option flew right out of the window.

"Okay, looks like we have to do this the old fashion way," Jared started, "As you can see, there are different passages. Lucy, Ren and Natsu could have gone through any one of them. While, I would've liked for all of us to stick together, it looks like that isn't going to happen. This mansion is big and we need to find them as fast as we can. It looks like we're going to have to split up."

Silence followed Jared's proposition.

"Shit, now this is really starting to sound like a horror movie. People go into a creepy mansion, they spilt up and slowly they get picked off one by one." Veruna spoke slowly, in a deep voice, a shadow going over her face.

Instantly, Mia let out a little yelp, quite frightened by that prospect and lunged behind her sisters back, shivering.

"Veruna!" Nyx chaste "You're scaring Mia! This isn't a horror movie, dude."

"Sorry." Veruna replied with a slight smile. She was getting way too into this.

"Anyway, I think this is the best way. We'll split up into our usual groups from when we were searching for Lacus Animairum and each of us will take a passage. Tell you what, after an hour of searching we each head back and meet up here in front of this door no matter if you've found Lucy, Ren and Natsu or not. The group that does find them then bring them here." Jared explained.

"What happens if one of us run into a member of Lacus Animairum?" Levy asked, her eyes widening slightly at the thought of meeting the mysterious mages.

"Fight. Fight with everything you've got. Fight and work together and get through it. " Jared replied simply back, his dark eyes having a serious edge look to them.

He didn't like the plan he had made. He would rather not do it this way, but it's not like they had a choice in the matter. Lucy, Ren and Natsu was their top priority right now.

"What about me, Jared? Who should I go with?" Happy asked, as his group was missing in action.

Jared opened his mouth to answer when another unexpected one did,

"You can come with us cat." Zolo spoke up.

Instantly, all eyes laid on the S-Class Mage who was grinning maniacally. His brown eyes did not stray from Happy, who on the other hand had turned as white as a dove. Sweat instantly dripped down the poor cats face. Why did he feel like he had unwillingly sold his soul to the devil without doing anything?

"Uh...I was hoping I would join Sarah and Jared..." Happy trailed off.

"Why? Something got you scared pussy cat?" Zolo trailed off, the grin never leaving his face, a hand laying gently on his sword.

Happy gulped. Yes, something did scare him. That was him turning into sushi by Zolo's hands.

"Don't worry, Happy. I'll protect you." Erza spoke up as she took a couple of steps to Happy. Then she grabbed the cat by his side and slammed him to her chest in what was meant to be assuring hug. It would have been if it wasn't for the fact that Erza's very hard armour had nearly knocked Happy out as he crashed into it.

"Well, I guess that's settled," Jared started with a sweat drop and a small smile "Happy, you can go with Erza and Zolo...Try to make sure they don't fight, neh? "

A shadow loomed over Happy's head. Stop Erza and Zolo from fighting? Did Jared want him to get turned into cat chop sticks? Might as well get the fire roasting too.

It didn't take long for the groups to gather and each of them to choose a passage. Without looking back or at each other, each group entered their passage and their potential danger to confront.

Wendy sighed slightly as she and her group turned around another corner only to come across, yet another long hallway. That's all there seemed to be. Hallways. One after the other. The walls were plain white and the floor the same blood red carpet. Same chandeliers. No doors on either side.

They had walked in the same path for at least fifteen minutes. Little had been spoken between the four of them. Kouta was nervously walking along her right hand side and Mirajane was on her left. Carla was above the three of them, flying freely. She needed to spread her wings with how tense everything seemed to be.

"So..." Mirajane spoke up as her eyes landed on Kouta before she quickly diverted them back to the endless hallway in front of her as she remembered Kouta's phobia "Do you do anything specific in Scarlet Destiny, Kouta?"

The question caught Kouta off guard. His eyes quickly swung to the beautiful white-haired mage. His body slightly eased when he realized that she wasn't staring at him as her gaze was forwards.

"I-I run the infirmary back at my guild."

At this, Mirajane felt her eye brows rise. It took a lot out of her not to look at Kouta. This little boy, no older than twelve, runs the infirmary? She wondered how. Dealing with sick and injured people was no an easy feat. She spoke from experience. She handled quite a few ill people back in Fairy Tail.

"Kouta's really good with medicine and stuff. He's been learning ever since he was a little kid. He's really great at identifying herbs and making medicine. You should see it, Mira. It's pretty amazing!" Wendy said, her voice high with excitement.

A soft smile graced Mira's lips. She never heard Wendy speak like that before. She wondered if Wendy knew how close she was with Kouta. Mira had to admit the pair was super cute. If they were a few years older she would use her match making skills that god had graced her (as she liked to think) to hook the two of them up.

"I-It's not that amazing Wendy. I'm not that good. I still have a lot to learn. You've done well, though, Wendy. You catch on with all the medicine I've taught you quick. That's what I call amazing." Kouta unknowingly complimented Wendy.

The girl's cheeks went red at the compliment and her gaze slid to the floor in front of her. Mira had to coo in her mind because of that. They really were cute together like that. Even if she felt sad that Wendy left the guild, she was happy Wendy had found a friend and companion in Kouta.

"That's Wendy for you. If she's interested in something, she would do whatever she can to get better at it." Carla added on as she looked down at her best friend a proud look on her face.

"A-Ah, you can stop now." Wendy nearly cried out, her cheeks feeling like flames.

Mirajane chuckled at that. And, her smile widened even more. Wendy was happy. Even though she wasn't in Fairy Tail, the girl was still happy. It was a strange thought that flittered through her mind. Wendy had grown. She wasn't the same girl and yet she was.

Mirajane thought she would feel sad at the thought, but oddly enough she didn't. She cared a lot about Wendy and if the girl was happy than who was Mira to judge where that happiness came from? Kouta seemed like a sweet young boy. He wasn't a monster. He didn't seem like a person that would hurt Wendy.

Thinking about happiness caused a slight pain in Mirajane's heart. She was happy. When she had Elfman and Lisanna on her side, but when the former was gone all she felt was a hollow emptiness. Now, with this whole mind control thing revealed she could feel her hopes go up even if she didn't want it too. If it was true, that Lucy didn't kill Elfman, then her brother could still be alive. The thought was almost unbearable. Because, there was also the chance that he wasn't.

All Mirajane wanted now was to know the truth. About everything. Lucy was her friend before the incident. If the girl was innocent then Mirajane knew she and her guild committed something unforgivable. They hurt their own family.

"Hey, do you hear that?" Wendy suddenly spoke up cutting off Mirajane's thoughts.

Mirajane glanced back at Wendy, who had stopped walking a few seconds ago. The girl's head was cocked to the side and a slightly confused look was on her face.

"What is it Wendy? I don't hear anything?" Carla spoke up as she flew above Mira's head.
"I do...It's almost like a clicking sound...A clicking sound with a crunching sound." Wendy said, eye brows furrowing together and eyes closed as she concentrated.

Mirajane felt herself open up her ears. She concentrated on sounds, but all she could hear was the breathing from the two children and cat around her...No, wait! There! A slight click. Mirajane's mouth opened. What the hell was that?

"I can hear it now...It's definitely a clicking sound..." Kouta trailed off as he stood beside Mirajane.

His eyes glanced around the hallway as if to try to focus on where the sound was coming from. The clicking sound was getting louder and louder. What was it? Where was it coming from? Suddenly, Kouta glimpse upwards and just in time too.

"WENDY!"

Before, Wendy could even react, something hard hit her body and she was flung towards the floor with a loud thud. There was a heavy weight on top of her and the back of her head burned from bumping it against the carpet. Her back also ached from the hit, but she knew it wasn't so bad. The soft carpet did somewhat soften what was meant to be a hard blow.

Suddenly, a large bang caught Wendy's attention then her mouth dropped open with what she saw. Her gaze slid from the person who was on top of her to the place where she was standing previously. Only, instead of the hallway was a large thick wall. Yes, a wall. The wall blocked off the hallway which she and her companions were currently walking down. The wall was huge and pure white.

Wendy realised at once that if she had still been standing back in her original place the wall would have fallen on her and squashed her like a fly. Then, Wendy's eyes went back to the person who was on top of her and saved her.

Kouta was staring into her eyes with his own unique hazel eyes, breaths coming out raggedy. He had at once saw the wall rocket from above Wendy and almost crashed on top of the girl when he looked to the ceiling. His body reacted before his mind did, and without any warning he lunged at Wendy and knocked her and himself out of the way.

"Kouta," Wendy breathed "You saved me."

Kouta eyes widened when he saw Wendy staring at him. He did not realize that they were quite close and he was still on top of her. So, his phobia kicked in at the moment. With a large yell, he scrambled off Wendy like she had suddenly caught on fire and flew backwards almost tripping over himself until his back hit the wall that had almost squashed Wendy.

He slid down it and quickly formed a protective ball.

"No eyes...No eyes..." the boy trembled.

Wendy let out a small smile as she stood up on her feet. She swayed just the slightest, but her body quickly found its balance. Instantly she approached Kouta almost like he was a wild deer that would bounce off at any moment.

"It's okay, Kouta...Look, no staring." Wendy said as she lifted her head up to stare at the chandelier directly on top of her.

Suddenly, she heard soft shifting sounds. There was silence for a few moments and Wendy waited, her eyes never leaving the chandelier. She wouldn't look until Kouta was ready.

"O-Okay, Wendy. I-I'm fine now." she heard Kouta whisper.

Finally, Wendy dropped her gaze to the body who was leaning most of his weight on the wall. His hazel globes crashed against her brown eyes and the corner of his lips lifted slightly as he held his ground. No running way from her eyes now.

"Thank you for saving me." Wendy said with a still soft smile.

Kouta opened his mouth to reply when another voice suddenly spoke out,

"Wendy?! Kouta?! Are you guys fine?! Speak back!" Mirajane spoke, her voice shaking slightly with panic.

"Wendy!? Kouta!?" Carla's voice cried out almost straight after Mirajane's.

Wendy's eyes drifted around trying to spot Mirajane and Carla. She had almost forgotten about those two when she had smashed on the ground. Although, when she looked around she couldn't find either of them. She realized it was only her and Kouta in the hallway. Where were they?

"Carla?! Mirajane?! We're fine! Where are you?!" Wendy yelled wondering where they could have come off.

"We're here," Carla's voice replied back slightly muffled. Wendy's eyes widened when they landed on the wall that had almost crushed her. The place where the sound had come from "We're behind the wall."

A soft gasp escaped Wendy's lips once she realized this. They were behind the wall. She and Kouta were separated from Mirajane and Carla. Her head wheeled from the information. On the other side of the wall, Carla was pressing her paws against the wall as if they would crumble at her touch. Mirajane was pacing slightly as she took her bottom lip into her mouth worriedly. The last thing she saw was Kouta lunge at Wendy knocking them both down before the white wall flew down blocking her view from both of the kids.

"Don't worry about the wall...I'll break it! Stand back!" Came Wendy's determine voice from the other side.

Mirajane and Carla instantly followed her order, knowing what Wendy was planning and backed away from the wall.

Wendy had taken a couple of steps away from the wall, Kouta was now beside her. Taking a deep breath she prepared for her attack,

"Sky Dragon Roar!"

Pressurised air flew from Wendy's mouth and the powerful attack blew right into the wall. Kouta raised a hand to shield himself from the harsh gust of wind. He could hear the large thud as Wendy's attack hit and he could almost imagine the wall breaking and crumbling from her attack. Once the attack was over, Kouta slowly dropped his hand and his eyes widened.

The wall was still there. Intact. Unbroken. The exact opposite of what Kouta had imagined. It was almost like Wendy's attacked hadn't even worked.

"What the-? Why? Why did my attack not work?!" Wendy shouted as she looked at the still standing stone wall.

Mirajane heard her cry from the other side along with Carla's.

"Her sky dragon roar didn't work? Impossible! Wendy had concentrated on that attack and she had made it even stronger than it was three months ago. How can the wall still be standing?" Carla questioned looking at the wall with wide eyes.

Kouta on their side, eyes widened as realisation drowned on him. He quickly made his way to the wall and pressed his two hands on it. Then, he concentrated on his hands calling his healing magic to it. Just like he thought, his hands failed to glow a light green colour that showed his healing magic.

"The walls magic protected," Kouta spoke out loud so Mirajane and Carla could hear "That's why Wendy's attacked didn't work. We can't break through it with magic," then Kouta paused and quickly formed one of his hands into a fist and knocked it gently against the wall feeling the pressure of the bricks against it and the resounding thuds "And, I believe the wall is stronger and steadier then it looks. I doubt you can break through it with just strength."

Silence. Wendy's head reeled even more. A magic protected wall? How? She would not get the answer.

"This happened on purpose. The wall dropping out of nowhere. We walked into a trap. The dark guild wanted us separated. That's exactly what happened." Carla spoke up loudly, her voice firm as she stated the facts, not questions.

Wendy's stomach dropped at the words of her best friend. She looked at Kouta who seemed to pale slightly.

"T-This isn't good...What happens if we get attack, Wendy? I-I can't fight. You know that. My magic's more supportive than anything. T-This is bad." Kouta mumbled as his worrying gaze landed on Wendy.

"We'll be fine Kouta. Trust me! We'll find a way around this." Wendy spoke loudly, as if with her words she could bring up confidence.

"Wendy," Mirajane's voice interrupted from behind the wall "Listen to me carefully. I want you to re-trace your steps backwards okay? Take another passage way or something to see if you can meet up with somebody else. If you can, follow my scent and try to find me again. If you can't because of this building then, do what I said before. If you do come across a member of Lacus Animairum I want you two both to run okay? Under no circumstance will you fight against them. Do you understand me?"

"Yes, Mira." Wendy replied back her voice firm despite the sinking feeling in her stomach.

"Carla and I are going to go ahead and there may be another way to meet up with you. Don't worry, I'll protect Carla. You and Kouta just find another way around this." Mirajane announced.

"Okay." Wendy replied.

Wendy could hear a few mummered words exchange between Carla and Mirajane before light steps from behind the wall. After that there was only silence. Wendy quickly swung her gaze from the wall to Kouta who was shaking just the slightest. Wendy knew then she needed to be strong. For herself and Kouta.

"Come on Kouta!" Wendy said loudly, and she quickly took a few steps towards him and raised a hand, fingers spread out "Let's go find some help!"

There was a moment of silence where Kouta stared at her outstretched hand. Then, a smile brightened his face. He wasn't scared. If Wendy wasn't then neither would he be. He reached his own hand out and clasped it in Wendy's, their fingers easily threading together as they held on tight.

"Let's go!"

Nyx cocked her hand back and with one furious yell, she launched her tightened fist forwards to the offending object. There was a loud crash as her gloved hand smashed against the object. Nyx breathed heavily as she withdrew her hand that was still in a fist. Her eyes widened, her confused gaze swinging from her gloved hand to the object.

The object, the white wall blocking her way, was still intact. Not a scratch on its surface.

This didn't make a lick of sense to her. The gloved hand looked normal, but no, it wasn't. She had used her magic to materialize the clothing to make it hard steel and smashed it to the wall. The wall should have been broken in a million pieces now, but alas, it wasn't. This was at least the fifth time she repeated the action but to no avail.

"It's no use guys. I can't break through." Nyx sighed in defeat and annoyance.

There was a small silence before a loud voice spoke from behind the wall,

"It's okay Nyx. I understand. There's nothing you can do if you can't break through the wall...Are you okay all alone over there?" Veruna's muffled voice asked behind the wall.

Nyx could honestly say she had no idea how this happened. One minute she, Veruna and Levy were speaking to each other about something random while walking, and the next a wall was flying down towards all three girls, trying to squish them.

Unfortunately for her, to avoid the wall Nyx went one way and Veruna and Levy the other. In other words, she was separated from both girls on one side of the wall and Veruna and Levy on the other side.

"Since you can't break through, I'm guessing the wall is magic protected somehow. Not to mention, it must be strong. It looks like there won't be any way to break through." Levy spoke loudly on her side of the wall.

She and Veruna were standing a bit far back from the wall just in case Nyx managed to break through. They didn't want to get hit by any flying rocks or anything of the sort, if she did break through it.

"This must be a trap! The whole wall coming down thing! They must be trying to separate us or something...Why? I have no idea." Levy yelled out so Nyx could hear her through the wall.

It actually irritated her. That she couldn't solve this out. She liked puzzles but she liked it more when she knew the answer.

"I agree...We definitely walked into a trap. Any idea what we should do?" Nyx asked in frustration as she folded her arms across her chest.

"I say that you should go back and retrace your steps and take another passage or route. Hopefully, you'll meet up with someone else. Veruna and I will carry on down the original route and see if it leads us anywhere." Levy explained her plan through the wall.

"I guess there's no other way..." Nyx trailed off.

She really didn't like the idea of going back on her own. Not that she didn't think she could protect herself, she knew she could, it's just that she would feel more comfortable if someone was with her.

"Good luck Nyx! Hey, if you do meet a member of Lacus Animairum you better punch them right into next week with your glove-metal hand!" Veruna cheered through the wall.

Nyx's lips instantly quirked up into the smile by her partners words. Veruna knew exactly how she felt. How nervous she was. Her words were meant to encourage Nyx. She really loved that question-droning girl.

"You've got that right! I'm going to punch these Lacus Animairum members so hard they won't even remember their name after I do it!" Nyx agreed, before she turned around ready to walk back the way she came "Be careful you two!"

Veruna and Levy on their side of the wall heard the receding footsteps until everything fell silent. Levy quickly turned her gaze to Veruna who did the same, Levy's eyes connecting to dark blue eyes.

"Well, let's go!" Veruna said smiling cheerfully.

In no time, both girls were walking down back into their original route. Well, Levy was walking, Veruna was skipping happily. Levy had to admit, the girl was definitely carefree. Like, she didn't even have an ounce of weight on her shoulders.

Actually, Veruna really intrigued Levy. The blue-haired girl knew less about Veruna than anyone else on her team. Veruna was like a girl who was present and not present at the same time.

"Hey..." Levy started and watched as Veruna brought her attention to Levy "So, is it okay if I can ask you a question?"
Veruna stopped mid-skip and swung around to Levy who also paused in her walking.

"Well...that depends. If it's a general question then of course you can! I don't mind answering whatever it is. Although I have to admit that I might not know the answer to your question so I'm sorry about that...Oh wait! You can also ask me a super personal question which I might not want to answer and things might get awkward between us and I don't want that-"

"Veruna!" Levy interrupted and cursed herself in her mind, she should have remembered the girl tends to drone when asked a question "All I wanted was a yes or a no."

"Oh, sorry!" Veruna giggled out before she replied sheepishly "I really need to get control of my question answering."

Levy desperately wanted to ask why the girl tended to answer in such detail, but she was worried the girl would just drone an answer out so she refrained from doing so.

"Yes," Veruna started interrupting Levy's thoughts as she started to walk again slowly "I'll answer your question...and, I'll also try not to answer like the way I do."

Levy lips quirked up at that before she fell into step with Veruna. After a few dull moments Levy opened her mouth,

"What is your magic? You don't have to answer but I've pretty much pieced up all your other members magic so yours is one that I don't know...It's been on my mind though."

Veruna gazed at Levy before she suddenly asked,

"Wait...You know the magic of the other members of my guild?"

Levy nodded her head before turning her gaze forwards,

"Well, yeah...It's pretty easy to figure it out once you get all the information. From what I can tell, Ren is a dragon slayer since Gajeel mentioned it and Natsu was talking about his fight with Slave and he said it as well. Kuro is a shadow mage and can manipulate shadows and that's only because he basically told us. Nyx can manipulate magic to make her clothing into other material and I put together because of what you and Nyx slipped out. Zolo has his swords and mind magic. Kouta can heal people as far as I know since he healed Erza after her and Zolo's spar. Sarah is music magic and she explained that. As for Jared...his magic is something to do with phasing through attacks so they can't touch him...I only figured that out because he managed to go through Zolo's attack where he swung his sword without it affecting him." Levy explained.

There was a moment of silence where Veruna stared at Levy with wide eyes. Then, she let out a low whistle.

"Wow, your good. I'm surprised you figured that out and this quickly as well since it actually takes people a long time to discover the magic of the members in my guild...You're really intelligent you know what?" Veruna complimented.

Levy smiled at what Veruna said.

"Thanks...but I still don't know what your magic is...Or the little girls that Gajeel and Lily are with." Levy announced.

Another lapse of silence.

"Well, okay I don't mind telling you my magic...Although, I do have to tell you...I don't particular like my magic, it's not like it's a bad magic or anything, but...It's complicated. Anyway, have you ever heard the legend and tail of called 'The plain girl of the sun and moon'?"

Levy's eyes lightened up as she heard the tail end of Veruna's sentence,

"Of course I've heard that legend! Well, it's basically a fairy tale now...but the story goes that once upon a time there used to be a plain girl in a village. There was never anything extraordinary about her. The girl had average looks, an average family and a normal average life. She was always happy with this life though and didn't ever want it to change. Although, she never liked to think of herself as plain. She knew she was amazing, not plain like everyone thought of her as. In her time, the sun and moon held a lot of magic stored within them. Although, things went wrong and it was said that the sun and moon were going to explode because of all that wild magical power. To stop this from happening, the plain girl decided to become a sacrifice and absorb all that wild magic inside of her. Most people thought she was a disgrace since she was so plain and that she wouldn't be able to contain all that power and would die. However, the girl still stood up and she managed to absorb all that power in herself. While, most thought she was going to die...she didn't! She survived and was able to use the magic of the moon and sun for herself. The girl saved everyone and lived out her life in a happily ever after." Levy explained the tale.

Veruna let out a small smile.

"You seem to know a lot about the tale."

"Of course I do," Levy gushed "It's actually one of my favorite legends and fairy tail...I think it's because even though no one thought she was important that she was just average she was far more than that. It encourages people never to think of themselves as plain or boring. They are amazing even if other people tend to think they're not."

The small smile was still across Veruna's face.

"Why did you ask me about that legend?" Levy asked.

"Because..." Veruna started "The girl in the legend, she's my ancestor. I come from her lineage."

Silence. You could literally hear a pin drop at that moment. Levy gaped at Veruna, mouth wide open, eyes bulging out of their sockets.

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"B-Because! You just said that the girl was your ancestor! That means the legends real?!"

"Of course! Well, actually, most legends are real, you know? It's just that they get twisted as they get passed down from generation to generation so they are never as true as they once were. My ancestors legend is one legend that has always stayed true to its form. What you just said is exactly how the story went.

"Levy couldn't believe this. One of her favorite legends were real!

"Well, anyway, the legend happened and then you have my magic with it. The magic the plain girl had been passed down to her daughter when she was born. Then, her daughter passed it down to her own daughter and so on. Until, the magic finally stopped as me. Now, I have the power of the sun and moon."

Levy eyes widened at her words. She was actually blown away by all this.

"Then, why would you say that you hate your magic? It seems pretty spectacular to me!" Levy questioned honestly.

Veruna sighed and her shoulders sagged slightly. Levy noticed the change in the girls demeanour almost instantly. The cheerful girl was gone.

"It's not that I hate my magic, per se, it's just...Well, the magic actually doesn't really belong to me...Ugh, what I'm trying to say is that the magic that passes down from generation to generation is in a weird way. Basically, before me, my mother had the magic of the sun and moon. Anyway, when she got pregnant with me, she lost her magic. That's how the magic goes down the generation. When the girl gets pregnant she looses her magic and therefore it goes to the baby. She never gets it back. The baby/new child is the one that holds the magical power from then on."

"Wow." was Levy's only reply.

"Yeah, so basically if I was to get pregnant now which would never happen, but if I was to I would lose my magic of the moon and sun and my daughter would have it instead of me." Veruna explained.

"So, wait...Does that mean ever first-born in your family is a girl?" Levy asked when she realized that Veruna had specifically said daughter not son.

"Yup," Veruna said popping 'p' "No one has ever had a first-born as a son. The first child is always a girl. Kind of weird huh? We can have more than one child but it's always the first-born that gets the magic. I am an only child by the way. I'll be magic-less."

Silence.

"I don't find it right in a way...Magic is part of a human being, it's a mages very essence. It's a part of them. To have that suddenly ripped way from you...I can't imagine it...Well...I will have too if I ever have children. That's not the real reason I hate my magic though."

"What's the real reason though?" Levy asked, her throat feeling sore, since she actually felt like she didn't want to know the answer.

"Well...my parents died when I was really young. I was only five at the time...They were actually killed right in front of me. Someone broke into our house one day to steal from us. My parents woke up and confronted the person...He killed them right in front of me...I hate my magic because at that time if I didn't have my mums magic, if she still had this magic then she could have taken that burglar down easily and she would have lived with my farther. I was god damn five, I didn't know how to use all that power, but stupidly the magic was all passed down to me. That's the reason I hate my magic. Sometimes I feel like their death is on me." Veruna explained, her voice tone lowering as she spoke until her sentence ended in nothing but a whisper.

"I'm sorry." Levy spoke softly as she watched Veruna's eyes filled with tears that would never spill

"Don't be. I loved my parents so much and they are now lost forever. Nothing I can do can change that. I managed to escape death that night. My parents killer was captured and jailed." Veruna announced softly.

Levy nodded her head and opened her mouth to speak or ask about what happened to Veruna next when suddenly another voice cut through the sad tension in the air,

"How sad of a past... Nothing compared to mine of course...Kind of boring if you ask me."

The unknown female's voice flittered into the air, the voice actually quite up-beat, happy almost. Both Levy and Veruna froze for a second, gaze crashing, before they looked forwards to see a door a few feet away from them. The place where the voice came from. It seemed that they were so involved in the conversation they failed to notice the door.

Quickly, both girls sprung into action. They ran. At once they passed through the open door way to come across a very large room. Levy and Veruna noticed at once that the room had a glass roof, moonlight shining through it, causing sparkles to cross around the room.

There was no furniture. A single chandelier was handing in the centre of the room. The walls were a dark, concrete black. The room was massive, shaped like a large circle. Levy was sure someone could fit more than 50 king size beds in this room.

"Where did that voice come from?" Veruna asked as her eyes zig-zagged across the room.

"Up here, girlies!" cackled a female voice.

Both girls brought their gaze upwards to a large balcony that was currently opposite them. There on the bare of the balcony stood a girl. She was wearing a single black dress, reached up to her knees and had a sweet-heart neckline. Across her neck and running down her back was a white cape. Her hair was a dark black and very spiky as it trailed down her back.

Her hands were preoccupied as they held a bow, a red arrow already across its string, aimed straight at Veruna and Levy. Both girls took a cautious step back at that.

"Who are you?!" Levy demanded.

She and Veruna had already guessed they were a member of Lacus Animairum. They didn't need to ask about that, because there on the girls right collarbone, exposed to all, was the dark guilds mark tattooed in bright orange.

"Isn't it wrong to demand someone's name before giving your own," the girl started as she cocked her head to the side "No matter, I'll give you an exception since I already know who you two are. My name is Kurai. Remember your defeaters name...Levy, Veruna."

Levy eyes widened when Kurai spoke her name while Veruna just gritted her teeth together.

"Thanks for the name. At least I'll know your name when I take you down." Veruna spoke out loud letting a smile slip through her features.

Kurai just threw her head back and laughed.

"That's big talk from a girl who couldn't even save her own parents." Kurai replied back, raising on eyebrow.

Veruna jerked back at what Kurai had said, eyes masked in pain. Levy watched as the girl almost began to shake, hands tightening in anger and rage.

"Veruna, calm down!" Levy commanded "She's just trying to get a rise out of you!"

Levy's words seemed to have an effect as Veruna closed her eyes and took a deep breath

"What do you want? What does your guild want? Why have you been doing all that you have been until now?!" Levy asked the girl who was still standing on the balcony.

"As if I'll tell you the answers...Actually, why don't we make a bet? If I win then I get to kill you. If you win I'll tell you what you want, but that won't happen. You'll two die at my hands." Kurai replied back smirking.

"Oh yeah! We'll see about that! You're on!" Veruna shouted while Levy's eyes widened at the bet.

What was Veruna doing? She shouldn't be taking on bets like that! Levy wanted to scream at her but that wouldn't be the best option.

"Looks like the game is on." Kurai mummered with a wicked smirk.

What happened next Levy and Veruna both couldn't comprehend it. The girl just seemed to disappear. Slowly it started with her legs. Kurai took a step back and when she was meant to fall off the balcony's rail instead her feet disappeared into thin air. Then, her legs, there goes her stomach part of her chest. Like, something unknown was swallowing her up into nothing.

The last thing either Veruna and Levy saw, was the shit-eating grin on Kurai's face as she completely disappeared. Until her head disappeared and there was nothing there. Kurai had vanished.

"What the hell?!" Veruna shouted out loud at the blank empty space where Kurai had once been.

Veruna and Levy stepped closer to one another. Eyes darted across the room wondering where the mysterious girl had disappeared to.

"Two sitting ducks for me to hunt...I wonder which one will be gone first." Kurai's voice sang.

Neither Levy or Veruna could pin-point where it was coming from. It was strange. Her voice seemed to be coming from everywhere, all at once, surrounding the two girls, suffocating them.

Suddenly, there was a low whistling sound that filled the atmosphere. Levy could only watch in horror. Her eyes widened twice in size as she watched a red arrow sliced through the air heading straight for her face.

"LEVY!"

AND DONE! So, looks like the first fight has been revealed and it looks like it's Veruna and Levy VS Kurai! Oh My! I wonder how those two girls will do? Their power house (Aka. Nyx) isn't with them so this will not be an easy battle. Will they prevail...Only I know? Another fight will now be revealed in the next chapter :D
