What. Was. That.

"What did you do him?" George asked Matt, his voice trembling as Melinda tried to hush him up just as footsteps approached.

"What's going on?" Professor McGonagall's voice said, high with worry.

"It's the Weasley like I said Professors." That was Draco's voice.

"George—no—which one is this? Fred, right sorry," Professor McGonagall said leaning over to take Fred's arm who was now clinging my hand so tightly I knew I would have the indentations.

"N—no—no—" Fred said, his voice weak and trembling as well.

"It's okay, c'mon" Professor McGonagall said helping him to stand as did I. "She'll be right behind us; I'll send her once we get you in the hospital wing." Fred's legs must have buckled because he started falling again, this time Professor Snape took my place. "Alright, c'mon, now, Snape is on your left…that's it…" I watched as Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape led him off. I started to follow but Matt's arm was on my mine before I moved a foot.

"Let go of me!" I said trying to yank from his grip.

"We have to figure out what just happened, c'mon" he said trying to pull me in the opposite direction, but, being stubborn, I tried to move against him.

"I need to be with Fred!" I shouted again, still trying to pull away.

"And you will be, just wait a minute" Matt hissed.

"No" I snapped back, making a move to smack him but someone grabbed my wrist. I looked over to see Draco; he too looked pale, even when he spoke his words seemed to be on the air of caution.

"Tammie, he's not just your friend, his brother and best mate and other friend are just as concerned so stop making a scene" he whispered, his voice horse.

"Shut up" I said, mainly because I couldn't think of anything else to say.

"C'mon" he said tugging on my wrist as Matt let go and moved toward his sister. I looked at him, making a disgusted face, he went to her, but he didn't let me go to Fred, how fair was that? Draco was going to be in Melinda's presence in a few minutes, as was George. They got to be with who they wanted to be with, I wanted to be Fred. I pulled out of Draco's grip and started making my way up toward the castle, determined. I heard Draco grunt and I started to make a sarcastic comment but I suddenly my feet were out from under me. I was no longer walking, or headed in the direction I wanted to be.

Not only that, but I was upside down, was I being carried? I questioned but I as soon as I saw Matt's slightly amused face I knew I was. "Only a Malfoy would need a near death experience to realize they're in love…" I heard Draco mumble as he followed Matt into a pub and over to table, setting me down—though not gently—next to Melinda. "You don't listen" he said annoyed pulling up a chair and sitting next to me, Matt on his other side.

"What just happened?" Melinda asked, still shaking as George squeezed her hand. I looked around for Lee Jordan but he wasn't in sight, he probably got to go up with Fred, even if it was to recount the details, he still got to be there. I turned to move but Draco kicked me, the pain going up my legs.

"Move again and I'll be forced to put the leg lock curse on you, do you understand?" he asked firmly. I made a face but turned around to face everyone else. I looked at George who looked just as pale as Melinda. Then back at Matt who was looking off in the distance, his wand, along with mine, in the middle of the table.

"We should've never did this…" he said quietly. "I didn't think it would get so out of hand" he continued.

"I don't get how she was doing it though…she didn't have her wand" George said, his voice barely audible as he spoke.

"What's more important is that she didn't go to Matt, she didn't help him" Melinda explained as the rest of us nodded.

"She's possessed by Professor Madison; that has to be it" Draco piped in. I nodded, though I couldn't bring myself to actually speak.

"I noticed that too, but…I don't think possessed is the right word" Melisa stated, looking over at Matt. "She's willingly letting this happen, isn't she? She's letting herself be taken over my Professor Madison or something…" Melinda said nodding at her own explanation, as did Matt.

"I wasn't positive it was anything like that til today—"

"You mean you knew, or had some idea about it and you didn't think to tell any of us?" George asked angrily.

"No, I mean, sort of, it's complicated. My sister tends to favor whoever she can benefit from the most. It's hard to keep track who's playing who after a while" Matt told him. "I'm sorry" he added, looking truly apologetic.

"Does she know? Is she aware of anything while she's letting Professor Madison control her?" Draco asked.

"Yeah, if you're willing to let someone in then their willing to let you see" Melinda told us. George pulled away from her, but instantly took her hand again upon seeing her hurt expression.

"Why didn't you tell me this before?" he asked her, sounding upset.

"Like Matt said, we didn't know anything for sure. I just thought maybe my imagination was getting the best of me; and I didn't want you doing anything noble and going after her" she said with a light smile.

"If it's to protect you I'll always do the noble thing" George said, a tad bit of color flowing back into his face.

"But I still don't understand, how she was able to use the Cruciatus curse without a wand…" I said still feeling utterly confused. "Or why she'd use in the first place!" I added, slamming a fist on the table.

"She'd used it because she's a bitch—no offense Matt—and she wants to see us fall apart" Melinda replied. "But she can't do that spell, even I can't" she continued shaking her head in disappointment.

"But you were trying" Matt said looking directly at Melinda, his blue eyes dark but his words soft. "That's why I stupefied her. I knew what you were thinking, I didn't know if you would be able to, but I knew you wanted to hurt her. I don't blame you Melinda, I really don't. I don't blame any of you" Matt said, pausing to look around at us. "But, she's my sister. I love her, I can't use just let you guys kill her because of Margret."

"I don't know if you get this, but Margret is trying to kill them. I know you don't give a sorcerer's stone about Melinda, but she's going after Tammie too, and I know you care about her—more than you should. So, while you may not approve of what Melinda was trying to do the rest of us wouldn't have minded, especially if she was trying to make an effort to save herself and her friend, since the rest of us can't." George said, his voice stiff. I stared at him as his words hung in the air, it was the first time I heard him speak so firmly, so serious on any matter. Matt looked away, defeated.

"We did find out one thing from this" Matt said either ignoring George or trying to keep himself calm by talking. I looked at him then around at the others, Draco looked interested but was clearly trying not to show it. George still looked angry and Melinda was trying to not look angry so she could pay attention. "That wasn't the Cruciatus curse Courtney preformed…" I felt as if someone punched me in the stomach as Matt looked over at me. He didn't need to tell me what happened, I knew.

"What do you mean? What was it then?" Melinda asked annoyed, snapping Matt's attention away from me.

"Tammie, do you remember that vision, the one with the book?" he asked as I nodded. "You couldn't find because I think, think Professor Madison checked it out. She knew we were getting closer to each other, becoming friends and she figured I would tell you about all that—"

"But you didn't, just about the Alternate Seer, the rest of the stuff was in the book" I said as he nodded again. "Okay, so what's your…." I trailed off as my mind shifted to the rare vision thing Alternate Seers could do, force a vision on another person. I covered my mouth as I tried not to let out a scream.

"What?" George as quick to say.

"Sometimes…" I paused, chocking on my words. "Sometimes Alternate Seers can push visions onto another person and make them see stuff, it's not always real or unreal, but…" I couldn't finish, the words excruciating pain kept popping into my head.

"Courtney did that?" Lee whispered.

"No, I think Professor Madison—"

"Can we just call her Margret now?" Draco asked, now annoyed.

"She must be really skilled at this. But the general rule is Seers aren't supposed to push their visions onto other people" Matt explained ignoring Draco.

"Do you really think she's cares about the rules?" Melinda asked sarcastically. "Back to the whole pushing visions on people about? Is it like the Seals?" she asked looking from me to Matt, both of us shaking our heads.

"Not really, it involves a lot more brain work on someone else. You have no control over it. No wild imagination or…really no thought of your own. It's someone's ideas pushed on to you, anything they want you to see, anything they can create to make realistic in the mind's eye…and then they show it to someone else, they intrude themselves into someone's mind with the fake—or real—projection and…well, you can imagine someone else's thoughts piercing your own; it's painful—" I covered my ears. I didn't want to know what Fred went through, but more importantly, I didn't want to know what he saw, what Professor Madison made him see.

"I need to go to him" I said, my ears still covered as I tried to move, but knocked my elbow on the table.

"Tammie, you need to bloody relax" I heard George said, yanking my hand away from my ear. I looked at him, his face looked like stone, he looked sick. I started to wonder how he even managed to hold on as long as he did, but only needed to look at Melinda.

"Right, sorry" I said trying to settle back down.

"We're probably going to be asked to give a detailed account of what happened" Draco said, now switching topics; none of us wanted to hear, or know what happened to Fred, though the many question were filling my head.

"What should we say?" Melinda asked, looking from Draco to George.

"Courtney is sick and reacted on impulse, her spell to merely confuse him collided with my spell to stupefy her" Matt said flatly. "But Tammie's right, she needs to go Fred, if she doesn't, it's going to look more suspicious. George, you too. The rest of will figure out something" Matt said nodding toward Melinda and Draco. Draco gave me an uncertain look but moved his leg so I could pass, George instantly at my side as we quickly left and made our way to the castle.

"What the hell was that about?" I asked when we were inside.

"What part?" George asked morbidly.

"The part when you blamed Matt for everything" I said angrily, as we headed up another flight of stairs.

"Tammie, what part of this isn't his fault? Ever since he got here—"

"No, ever since Professor Madison got here" I corrected.

"This year has been absolute hell. First my brother goes through this shitty maze of a relationship and then I have to pretend like I'm okay with Melinda being in love with Draco." His breaths were louder than needed for someone who had a relatively steady voice and steady pace.

"I know it's hard for you—"

"No, I like her, I still like Melinda and I still want to be with her, and it sucks because she wants that stupid git over me. Just like you rather have Matt. I don't get it; tell me, what is that they have that we don't?" George huffed but waved off any response I was going to give to him.

"So that's your problem? You still want Melinda so you take all your anger out on Matt and blame me?" I asked as we got closer to the last flight stairs leading to the hospital wing. He didn't respond as we continued walking. "George, if you still like her, tell her. It doesn't hurt to tell someone how you feel. She probably thinks the world of you after today. After what you said. Draco did nothing, Matt did nothing. You and Fred were the heroes today. That means so much more than you know. At least to me" I told him as we reached the doors.

"Really?" he asked, standing still. I nodded, giving him a small smile. "But I don't need to tell you that. You already know. Just, see what happens. C'mon George Weasley, take a chance" I joked as I opened the doors.
