Chapter 6
Lavi and Allen stared at Sarah. Their expressions were a mixture of confusion and shock. Lavi was the first one to respond after a while. "Um… Sarah, Valentine, whatever. I hate to break it to you, but there are only thirteen Noahs… Frankly, I don't understand." Lavi walked up to the girl with a huge grin on his face and gave her a pat on the back, "cute magic trick though! I'm very impressed! You almost had us fooled!"
"Lavi. I think she's being serious." Allen said with a completely straight face. "You are being serious right?" Allen turned to look at Sarah, then he looked back at Lavi. "She's serious."
The grin that was on Lavi's face disappeared. 'But why would she just reveal herself to us like that?' he thought, 'and according to my records, there were only meant to be thirteen Noahs. Why is there suddenly a fifteenth…?' Lavi started walking in circles around Sarah; searching for clues. After a few minutes of not finding anything, he decided to ask her himself. "There are only meant to be thirteen Noahs. Why do you exist? If you exist that would mean that there is a fourteenth as well. Start explaining." Lavi wasn't his usual happy self. Instead he was serious for a change.
Sarah smiled, "Originally there were only fourteen. But the fourteenth left the Noah clan; as far as I know. I was never actually meant to exist."
"But why do you exist then?"
"The fourteenth disappeared."
"You told us that already."
"He literally disappeared. He left the Noah clan; but he was always alive. But then one day; he completely disappeared. And that's how I was born."
"You're not making any sense…"
"He disappeared. After he disappeared, each of the other Noahs lost a tiny fragment of themselves. So tiny that they wouldn't even notice. But all of those tiny fragments were enough to create a whole new being. And that's how I was born. But they don't even know that I exist. Heck, I'm not even sure they know if the fourteenth exists… I'm not sure why exactly that happened or why the Fourteenth disappeared. All that I know is that for the first time in decades, I feel an extra presence. And now Exorcists started appearing again and so have the other Noahs."
"So, what you're saying," Lavi started, "is that the Fourteenth Noah disappeared, and that for some reason you were made as a replacement."
"Well… I never actually thought that I was a replacement… But maybe I am… But my main point that I'm trying to make is; I think the Fourteenth is back. But my problem is that I don't really know anything about him. That's why I came to you exorcists. If I know more about him, then maybe I can know why I was created…"
"We're not helping you. You're a Noah and we're exorcists. Sorry but you can forget about it. And we also know even less about the Fourteenth than you." Lavi looked at the time, "You guys should go to your next class." Lavi pushed them out through the door. When they were both outside, he smiled and waved before slamming the door shut in their faces.
Harry and Ron were wandering through the halls of Hogwarts on their way to their next class. While walking, they noticed something odd. Yet they couldn't quite put their finger on it. It wasn't until Hermione joined them, that they realised what the odd thing was.
For once, Allen Walker wasn't following them.
They felt a certain relief flood them. No it wasn't pee. It was happiness; because for once they didn't have an annoying Slytherin who kept 'accidentally' listening to their conversations. It felt as if all of their problems had been swept away; until they walked into Transfiguration. As soon as they walked through the classroom doors, their newly-formed world of happiness, rainbows and sunshine turned into a swirling vortex of doom and misery. Why, you ask? Because that overgrown, pink, slimy, bitch toad of a woman was sitting in the classroom ready to inspect Professor McGonagall's lesson. She eyed the Golden Trio as they walked through the doors, almost as if they had just committed a serious crime. "You're late." She said in her annoying, over-sweet voice.
"Dolores," said McGonagall, "since this is my classroom, don't you think that I should get to say if my students are late or not?"
Umbridge didn't seem too impressed with that comment, "well, I suppose so…" She said.
Quite a while after the Golden Trio arrived, Allen and Sarah did as well. "Now that is late, Dolores. Care to explain why the two of you are late?"
"Professor Lavi asked to see me after the lesson." Allen said.
"Very well. What about you Sarah?"
"Um… I had to tell Professor Lavi something important…" Sarah said while blushing.
"Well I understand Mr Walker's case, but surely you could have waited to tell him?"
"Yes Professor…"
"Take a seat you two." Allen and Sarah took separate seats.
"Now, let us get on with the lesson. Today, we will be learn-"
"Hem-hem." Umbridge interrupted.
McGonagall chose to ignore it and continued on with the lesson, "we will be learning vanishing spe-"
"Hem-hem."
Again she ignored it, "vanishing spells. You already know the theory, but now I would like you to get out your-"
"HEM-HEM!"
"Wands." Once again, she ignored the bitch toad. "And Mr Walker, this has been bothering me for a while. Why exactly do you have a snitch following you around every-"
"HEM-HEM-HEM!"
"Everywhere?"
"What's a snitch?" Allen asked with a completely straight face.
"In that case, please don't worry about it…"
"HEM-HEM-HEM-HEM-HEM!"
McGonagall turned to face Umbridge, "Can I help you?" She asked.
"Yes, are you actually permitting your class to use magic?"
"Well seeing as this is a magic school; yes I am. Is there a problem with it?"
"Well, wouldn't it be more appropriate to just learn theory?"
"No. It wouldn't. Now if you excuse me, I have a lesson to teach."
After all the lessons were finished, Hermione decided to go to the library with Harry and Ron. Apart from the morning, there weren't any more strange things happening during the day. Unless you count Umbridge's existence as strange. Hermione being Hermione wasn't sure if Professor Lavi could be trusted. But according to Harry and Ron, they seemed to know each other from somewhere. She was sure that he was from Allen's time; especially because of his uniform. Allen wore a similar one the night he showed up.
Hermione wanted to look at the Black Order book again; she might find something useful. She kept on searching for a while but was interrupted by Sarah. "Um… Hermione?" She asked.
Hermione stopped searching, "yes? Can I help you with anything?"
"If you don't mind…" Sarah trailed off.
"I don't mind. What do you need help with? Homework?"
"I'll just get straight to the point. Do you know anything about the Fourteenth Noah?"
This statement took Hermione by surprise. "Why do you want to know?" Sarah then began explaining her story. She told Hermione about how she was created, how long she's lived, the fact that none of the other Noahs know about her existence, and also the mysterious disappearance of the Fourteenth Noah. After a while of thinking, Hermione decided to tell the girl. "Yes I know about him. But now I want to know why you came to me."
"I talked to Allen about it first since he's an exorcist… but… he refused to help me because apparently we're enemies… The only thing he told me was that you know something."
"Yes I do. I know who he is and why he disappeared. I can only tell you who he is since Dumbledore told me to be quiet about the rest."
Sarah's face lit up when Hermione said that, "so you'll tell me?"
"I never said that."
"What do you…"
"What I mean is that I said I can tell you. I never said that I will."
A feeling of hurt appeared on Sarah's face, "I don't mean to be rude but… Why won't you tell me?"
Hermione remained quiet for a while and then answered, "You're lying. That's why I'm not telling you."
"What… what makes you think that I'm lying? Why would I lie about something like that?"
"Well, you are a Noah and quite frankly, I don't really believe that the others never noticed that you appeared so suddenly."
"What…?" Sarah was shocked.
"Of course they'll notice."
The girl was quiet for a while. "Okay… Maybe I lied about that… They noticed that a new Noah was born and they accepted me into the family and stuff…"
"It's still not the complete proof."
"But I just…" Sarah looked like she was starting to get frustrated.
"I'm not telling you anything about the fourteenth until you tell me the truth about why you're looking for him."
Suddenly, all happiness that Sarah had before had completely vanished. She was mad. "Fine. I'll tell you why I'm looking for him. I want to kill him. Unfortunately all I know is that he's only somewhere in this castle. I haven't the slightest idea of who he is and apparently you do. So if you tell me, I'll simply leave you alone and get on with my business, but, if you don't… I will make you tell me and I can promise you that it won't be a picnic. I'll give you 24 hours. Tell me by then or else I will have to use force." With that being said, Sarah walked away.
Hermione decided that she needed to warn Allen to be careful of Sarah. 'But then I'd have to tell him in a way that doesn't give the impression that he's the fourteenth…' She thought. But before going to warn Allen, she needed to find that book first. She kept looking and was too busy to notice that Harry and Ron had already found it.
"Hermione?" Harry told her. Startled, she turned around.
"Harry, don't do that! Please!"
"Sorry but Ron and I have an important question to ask you."
She sighed. "What is it?"
Ron opened the book to a page showing all of the exorcists at that time in a picture. Lavi and Allen were standing next to each other. Behind them stood a girl with two ponytails and a miniskirt, an old man that looked suspiciously like a panda and a pretty samurai guy. Hermione was shocked to see that her two friends had found the book before she did. "Why are Allen and Professor Lavi in a photo taken in the middle of the 19th century?" asked Harry.
Hermione was speechless and for a while she couldn't even think on how to answer that question. Thankfully, she came to her senses. "Well that's because… well… you should… probably ask…" She tried to think of a person who they could ask instead to avoid having her answer the question. The first person that came to mind was, "Umbridge." She finally said.
"You want us to ask Umbridge?" Ron exclaimed. "Are you bloody serious?"
"Yes… I'm no- am! Yes I am!" She took the book from them and started pushing them out of the library. "You should go, right now and ask her!"
Harry reached for the book but Hermione wouldn't give it to them. "At least give us the book… or come with us!"
"No! I have to tell someone something important!"
"Who and what?"
"None of your business and classified. Does that answer your question?"
"Hermione!" Harry said to her.
Once again, she sighed. "Oh alright! I suppose I have some time to spare…" She ended up going with Harry and Ron to go see Umbridge. She was trying to avoid that for two reasons. One, she has to see Allen as soon as possible and warn him; two, why the hell would Umbridge know why Lavi and Allen are in a book from the 19th century? They would just end up looking like total idiots going there.
When they finally arrived at Umbridge's office, Hermione was surprised to see Allen doing a detention. But luckily it wasn't the same one that Harry did. The overgrown, pink toad looked up from her desk after she allowed the trio to enter. "Yes? How can I help you?" She asked in her sickly sweet voice. Harry and Ron looked at Hermione. She returned the look with an expression that said, 'well, we're here now. Do what you came to do.'
Harry started, "um… Professor. I have to ask you an important question regarding this book. I was told you would know the answer to this and I came here to ask you about it."
Umbridge looked disgustingly pleased with herself for some bizarre reason. "Very well. I shall answer what you need to know."
Ron opened the book to the page with the photograph on and asked, "why are Allen and Professor Lavi in a book published in the 19th century?"
"Lies!" She said.
"No professor. Look at the picture" Harry said, handing the book to Umbridge. He pointed to the picture. "See? There they are."
"Oh goodness! You actually told the truth! Unfortunately I don't know the answer. But Walker might…" The toad looked at Allen. "If you explain, I'll let you go early."
"That's my great, great, grandfather. We look a lot alike." He said without batting an eyelid.
"But you have the same scar! And hair colour apparently! Explain that!"
"See, in my family we sometimes inherit white hair. Now this is considered a curse and therefore we have this pentacle scar tattooed onto our left eye as children. Does that answer your question?"
"Half. What about Lavi?"
"We're cousins and they have a similar tradition. If a child is born with red hair, they gouge out their right eye."
"Bloody hell!" Exclaimed Ron, "that's one seriously fucked up family you have there!"
"Tell me about it…" He rolled his eyes.
Even though what Allen said had convinced Harry, Ron and even Hermione, it didn't look as if Umbridge was buying it. "Lies!" She said.
"What makes you think that I'm lying?"
"I specifically remember you saying that your hair is white because of a disease!"
"A disease is responsible for the inheritance of white hair." He had a poker face.
"You're not making any sense!"
"Who's this 'you're' you speak of?"
"You!"
"But Professor… my name is Allen."
"Allen is not making any sense!"
"I'm not making any sense because you are feeling unwell." Allen told her.
"I am?"
"Yes Professor." A concerned look crossed Allen's face. "If you want to get better, you might want to rest."
"Yes… I actually do feel rather unwell. You three!" She pointed to the golden trio. "Do I look unwell?" She asked.
Hermione was just about to answer when Allen interrupted. "Professor? Who are you speaking to?" Allen looked genuinely confused.
A very bewildered Umbridge's eyes darted back and forth between Allen and the others. "Those three!"
He pretended not to see them. "Professor, there's no one here apart from us…"
"B-b-but!" Umbridge pointed.
"You need to rest! You aren't feeling well and now you're starting to see hallucinations."
"I suppose you're right… I should rest… But what about your detention?"
"What detention?" He asked.
"Th-th-the one you are currently attending…"
"No. I'm not here for a detention. I came to ask you something regarding a book. Professor, for your own well-being, I ask you to please have a rest?" After a while of thinking, Umbridge told Allen that he was free to leave. Once away from Umbridge's office, Allen's mood suddenly turned dark. "You have absolutely no idea how much hatred I have for that toad! Oh, by the way. Everything that I said was a lie. I got this scar for a completely different reason and same with my hair. And thank God Lavi and I aren't cousins!"
Hermione decided that now would be a good idea to warn Allen about Sarah. But Harry and Ron were still there, so it kind of prevented her from doing so. She decided that she should warn him. Who cares if Harry and Ron find out? "Allen…"
"Yes?"
"Remember how the other day I mentioned something about the Fourteenth?" She said to Allen. He nodded in reply. "Well… Sarah's looking for him and…"
"I know she's looking for him." He interrupted. "She asked for my help but I said no. Sorry that I interrupted you; continue?"
"Well… I know who the Fourteenth really is and I also know that he's in this very school."
"What? Now we have another Noah to deal with?"
Suddenly, Harry interrupted. "I'm sorry but, would anyone mind explaining to me what exactly is going on?"
"Might as well…" Said Allen. "You two aren't really participating in the game anymore anyway… Basically, Malfoy cast this spell to summon an Heir of Slytherin from the past and now I'm here. Because of that, strange things have been happening recently because time noticed that a few things are missing and now it's starting to rewrite itself. And somehow Lavi ended up here as well."
"You're an Heir of Slytherin?" Harry and Ron exclaimed out loud at the same time.
"Apparently. But it isn't really a big deal and…" Allen stopped speaking. His eye turned black and glowing red rings appeared on it. This took Harry and his friends by surprise. Suddenly, he ran down the hallways. Harry, Rona and Hermione ran after him. When they finally found him, they saw him standing in front of Cho Chang and Sarah. But she wasn't Cho Chang for long because she started to shape shift into a strange weapon-like balloon. Harry was completely shocked and fell to the ground.
Sarah spotted Allen. She smiled maniacally. "Oh hello there Allen! Look here!" She pointed to Cho. "See? The Millennium Earl is starting to get busy again and now I have a new toy! But of course it won't be very fun playing with you because you'd just destroy it easily, right? So do you know what I'm going to do now?"
"No… Please don't…" He said.
"Oh yes I will! Cedric, self-destruct in twenty seconds!"
"No please don't…" Allen said. Hermione swore that she saw tears shining in his eyes. Allen didn't seem to notice them.
"Well then, if you want to prevent it, you better activate your innocence…"
Suddenly, his arm turned into a giant white claw with a green cross glowing brightly on the back of his hand, all the way to his shoulder. Hermione let out yelp of surprise when his hand did that. Upon hearing the small yelp, he turned around, unshed tears shining in his eyes. "You guys! Get out of here right n-" But Allen couldn't finish his sentence, because what used to be Cho started shooting at Harry. The bullet missed him by a few centimetres.
"Good boy Cedric! Try to kill Harry Potter; if you have enough time that is. Ten, nine, eight, six, five," Allen started running into the direction of the akuma. "four," he extended his claw, "three," he jumped, "two," he attacked, "one," he missed.
Sorry if it's badly written. I had a better one but then my laptop broke and I lost everything so I tried writing it from memory. This is the best I could remember... Anyway, I was also writing a Halloween special that I planned to upload on Halloween, but then my laptop broke and I only recently got a new one, so I decided not to post the Halloween special. But if you guys do want it, don't hesitate to ask me and I'll upload it. It doesn't have anything to do with the main story so it doesn't really matter if I post it or not. Also, I haven't read Harry Potter in a while so I am a bit rusty and I don't quite know when things happen when they are meant to, but I guess it kind of works for this story because of time being messed up...
Thank you for all the reviews, favourites and follows! I really appreciate it! Thanks for reading XD
