I quickly close the door behind me as I crouch and shuffle my way to Soap and Yuri's position, "Glad to see your alright lassie," Soap greets me as I sit behind him and Yuri.
I gave a swift nod in return, "Aye, I had some personal business to attend too,"
Soap raises his eyebrows in question at my full accent, "And exactly what was that?"
Looking around I try to make a decision on what to tell him, "You can keep a secret right?"
"You know I damn well can!" Soap hisses defensively and I gave a chuckle and slowly begin to explain the whole story to him.
He sits very quietly as he listens to me, "You mean, your parents weren't your actual parents, so you tracked down your real mother and your mother just so happened to have adopted your daughter?"
"Apparently so, hard to believe but it's true," I give a small smile, "You'll love her Soap,"
Soap gives a grin, but it slowly turns wary, "What are you going to do when Ghost finds out about her?"
"Simple. Tell him to keep the hell away from her until we sort out our remaining feelings," I reply as I give a grim look, "Where is he anyways?"
"He's going in with Price. Where's our bug?" Soap asks curiously.
I shrugged, "I don't know. I'm sure our favourite Bug is somewhere around here,"
Just then we heard the sound of a helicopter and Soap sighs, "It's almost time,"
Me and Yuri both nodded and we loaded a clip into our snipers, "The meeting will be on the second floor,"
We then turn to look out our make shift window, which is basically a gap in the wall, I then aim to see a few vehicles.
"Heads up. Makarov's convoy is arriving now," Ghost informs us as we see the vehicles park and Soap speaks up, "I see it. Four armored vehicles. No visual on Makarov yet,"
"Do you see him?" Price asks firmly.
"Aye, there's the bastard. Third vehicle," Soap replies as my aim goes to the third vehicle. Honestly, I had a bone to pick with the bitch, if it weren't for us looking for him maybe Shepherd wouldn't of betrayed us so soon.
Of course Shepherd would of betrayed us sooner of later, but maybe we would of had a better chance surviving it, at the moment it doesn't matter, Shepherd can burn in hell for all I care.
"Shite. I think he's looking right at us," Soap's words catch my attention as I look to him then back into my scope.
"Easy, just sit tight." Price replies and I give a sigh. This was going to be a long day and to add onto that my vibe was driving me crazy, it was kicking and my stomach felt like it was going to implode any second.
Something is going to happened, and after all of the shit I've been through I know it's not good, I may be looking through my scope but my mind is thinking up every possible scenario of what could happen.
I give a silent sigh and dismiss any of the possibilities, which I might add are quite irrational. Either way Makarov doesn't even know we're here...Or does he?
"They're pulling into the garage now," Soap says as I loo to the garage and spot the last car pulling in.
"Alright Kamarov. You're up," Price says steadily.
I blink a few times and scan the building as the coms stay silent, my vibe was helping my situation either, I feel like I could hurl any second.
"Kamarov, do you read me?" Price asked warily.
Soap gave a scoff, "Probably forgot to switch it on,"
"Doesn't matter. Makarov's here. We move forward with the plan," Price replies, "We're in position. Ready?"
"Night, find Price and Ghost on your scope," Soap says as I do so, "Did you just call me Night?"
"You have your accent back," Soap replies childishly.
I rolled my eyes as I moved my scope towards Price, "Fair enough,"
"We got you," Soap says and I swear I can almost see Price's nod, and Ghost's eyes melting my skin.
Both of them take a look down and look like they're talking to one another, I wonder they're saying.
"We've got some activity on the balcony," Soap informs us as Price and Ghost begin to repel down.
"Take them out together. On you Yuri,"
I gave a small pout as Yuri fires with Soap, "I could of done it better..."
"I had a headshot," Yuri snorted, "I could of had a double headshot," I replied instantly.
"Breaching," Ghost calls out.
Just then I zoom back in on the room and see Price and Ghost inside and very much still alive. Good, I won't admit to anyone but I need to speak to Ghost after this.
I've been pondering on what my mother said about me holding a grudge against him. It wasn't his fault after all, the whole team was injured and I'm sure if Price could he would of looked for me himself.
Either way I can't avoid it any longer, now with my Daughter I have to start doing the right thing, and speaking to Ghost to get this emotional mess cleaned up.
Just then we clean up the guys in the room and we see a man, I tried to focus on who it was but it was to hard with the scope, "What the hell? Price, who is that?" Soap voices my question
"Kamarov," Price answered hostilely.
"I'm sorry, Price." Kamarov says shortly.
I'm about to question Kamarov on why is apologizing but I'm cut off, "Captain Price. Hell awaits you,"
My eyes narrowed at the sound of Makarov's voice and the pieces started to fit together, I zoomed in to a see a bomb in there, "Price! Ghost! Get out of there!" Soap calls out quickly.
Just then we saw the building blow up, oh damn! That doesn't look good and before I even have time to debate if they survived we heard Makarov speak again, "Yuri, my friend. You should have never come here,"
My head snapped to Yuri, "What the hell is he talking about!?"
Just then we saw the tick of a bomb and Soap quickly lunged to me, "Get out! Now!" He then pushes me out and Yuri follows along as the building explodes.
...
I quickly roll and tumble hitting just about everything that's on the damn building, it hurts...It hurts like hell, my body is sore and I'm not even half way down.
After a few seconds I hit the ground and the world spins in slow lopsided circles, my hearing is muffled and my vision is blurred.
Just then my head slowly goes to Soap and I see blood pooling around him, I almost yelp helplessly struggling to get to him.
just then more stuff from the wreckage falls down and my vision is once more blurring and I fight to keep my eyes open and not black out.
"Soap!" I could hear Prices voice yell out And it wasn't a second later whatever wreckage landed on me was pulled off.
"Are you alright!?" Ghost's voice is panicked and I rubbed the temple of my head, which I felt blood on and I scurried over to Price helping him with Soap.
"Look at me. You're alright!" Price says panicked. If Price was panicked this was a clear sign I should be too.
Soap's old wound from pulling the knife out of his stomach was reopened and blood was slowly oozing out of it.
Just then Price pulls Yuri up, "Yuri! Grab him! We have to move now!"
Yuri scurried over and pulled Soap up and just then we say Roach high trailing it towards us, "Come on there's a clear path ahead!"
We all nod and run through the cross firing following Roach. The fire fight is heavy with bullets spraying everywhere and it's a blessing none of us have been spot down yet. Speaking of being shot down I gave a curious look on where Static was.
Quickly dismissing the thought as Price told us to keep moving. Just then Roach runs right to my side, "What the hell happened to Soap!?"
"His old knife wound has reopened he needs medical attention for it. Fast." I replied as I quickly went to help Yuri on carrying him.
"We can't stay here. C'mon this way!" Price signals us towards a fairly big gate and we all quickly enter, "Enemy bird! Get off the road!"
Just as we all enter Price then dashes forward, "This way!"
I took a look at Soap, who's face was starting to pale and his eyes were heavy. I look away from him, afraid that if I look any longer I'll burst into tears.
We then enter a house, I can't even describe what it looks like, we're running to fast and running through to many doorways for me to even talk about details.
My mind is still on Soap, he's my big brother, someone who has always been there for me. He doesn't deserve this!
My mind slowly floated back to those old words, 'No matter what happens Death follows the child where ever she goes'.
I begin to think about my 'bad luck' was I the reason Soap is like this!? I quickly begin to kick myself for even coming back knowing that I probably will never forgive myself for making such a stupid mistake, even if he does make it.
Just then we exit the house and Price orders us to set him down, me and Yuri quickly set him down and let his back lean against a dumpster, Yuri quickly follows Price leaving me with Soap.
"Alex...Alex, I love you..." Soap mutters quietly.
I look at him, his face is pale and he looks dizzy, tears threaten to spill from my eyes, I begin to shake like a leaf, "Hang on Soap! It's gonna be alright!" My voice is strong yet sickened by seeing him this way.
"Alex, I always loved you like a little sister, so sweet and innocent, you never deserved the life you were given," Soap weakly pushes my hair behind my ears.
I feel tears roll down my face, "Just hang in there Soap. Maybe once this is all over I might be able to have the rest of the life I always wanted,'
"C'mon we have to move!" Price calls out quickly coming over.
I wipe my eyes clear of tears before Price catches on and he pulls Soap up. We then go into another house and I feel Ghosts eyes on me.
"Are you ok?" He asks concerned.
I try my hardest not to snap at him, "Soap is dying...No...I'm not ok," My voice is strained and rough.
Everything seems to be moving in fast forward and here I am still stuck on pause. This is real, it's actually happening, something I never thought was possible.
The Taskforce is practically dead, almost everyone I know is dead and my big brother, Soap is almost dead.
I gave a growl kicking myself once more, and I quickly take my anger out on our enemy's. It's just a blur the whole battle is a blur.
Price is calling out orders left and right but I don't even pay attention, we move almost every second, we may be moving forward...
...But mentally I'm going backwards.
{SAS Base...}
{8 years ago...}
{Two days After Meeting Price...}
My gaze lowers to the ground and I shake my head, "What happened to me in my childhood doesn't concern any of you, why is it important anyways?"
"Alex you've been acting up since you got here, spill it," Price replies as he stands in front of me with his arms crossed.
"He's right Alex. We only want to help," Soap says as he pulls a comforting arm around me.
"If you really want to help then you wont ask," I grunt as I crossed my arms stubbornly.
Price begins to mutter to himself as if he were giving up, and I sigh, "Do we have to talk about it!?"
I pull my knee's into my chest and let my chin rest on my knee caps, "Alex...We can't force you to talk, but it would be useful to know what happened then," Price replies as he rubs the temple of his head.
I groan as I buried my face in my knee's, did the whole team have to be here?! MacMillan was even here for gods sake! And Price wants me to tell him what happened!?
"Aye, Price is right, we mean no harm lassie, just trying to help." MacMillian says as he puts and hand on my shoulder.
It's silent for a moment and I try to gather my thoughts, how do I explain? Where do I begin? I finally lift my face from my knee's and open my mouth to start, but I close it again.
And it was just like that, I can almost feel the dull pain come back to me and the memory begins to invade my mind.
I opened my mouth once more but I only choked up on my own tears, how could I even explain such a thing!?
"I...I..." I slowly began to speak as the tears spill from my eyes, "..Was, eight...When it...happened...It...It was my birthday,"
I took another moment to calm myself down, "My dad...He came home drunk, and he started to claim that I was the reason my mother died..."
I was about to continue but I began to choke up in sobs again, "After...After that, he...He...He dragged me to his bedroom, and he slung me on the bed telling me that...That I was going to get...What I deserved...He, he took of my clothing-."
Price by this time had kneeled down to look at me, "It's fine...You don't have to go into any more detail,"
He then hesitantly pulled me into a hug, which I quickly accepted. I continue to cry against his shoulder, what else can I do? I just told them a very private and personal part of my life.
His fingers comb through my hair as he sighs, "Everything will be fine...I promise,"
{Present}
"We made it Soap! Just hold on!" Price's voice snaps me out of my flashback and I look around to realize we did make it.
For once, things go by quickly and it isn't longer before we see the Resistances and they quickly begin to press forwards, "Yuri! We need to move Soap! Get over here and cover us!" Price calls out signaling for him to help us.
"We've got wounded get him inside!" Price yells out to a few of the soldiers, "Lets go! Lets go!"
We then quickly get inside and we're going about as fast as we can to get Soap medical attention, "Clear the table!" Price orders.
They quickly do so and we set Soap down on it, "Soap!" Price says as he begins to put pressure on the wound, "Medic!"
I quickly move to the other end of the table and help Yuri on putting pressure on the wound.
"Price...Yuri..." Soap struggles to say.
His life fades faster. No, no this can't be happening! No! This isn't bloody possible!
"Not now, Soap. Just rest," Price hushes him, "Get a medic!"
"C'mon, stay with me son!" Price says desperately.
My hands press harder to his wound, I try to bite back a whimper, my eyes are beginning to water, I don't want to see my older brother like this. The older brother who always cared for me.
The older brother who sat with me every single night at the SAS base that told me nothing would hurt me, the older brother who always hugged me and kept me close when I had horrible flashbacks of my childhood.
Soap was that brother! I can't just lose him! He's almost every part of me, If it weren't for him being with me when I got shot I would of died!
"Price..." Soap struggles to say, "You need to know..."
Soap grabs Prices shirt, "Makarov...Knows...Yuri..."
"No! No! No! No! Soap! No! No! No! Soap!" Price shakes Soap a few times as he shakes his head.
Just then a the Resistances leader comes up to Price, "Price!... You have to go! Now!" He lays his hand on Price's shoulder.
Price shoves him away, "Get off me!" He hisses out.
Price looks down at the dead body that was once known as John 'Soap' MacTavish, and lays his pistol down, "I'm sorry," He then grabs the dog-tags and journal.
My heart begins to hurt, My brother...My brother, the person who looked after me, making sure I was never hurt or in any trouble.
The person who stuck up for me when I couldn't, the person who I owned my life to, just died...My heart begins to skip a beat, I let my hand slip to his neck and grab his Dog-tags and put them in my pocket, "I love you Soap. You'll never be forgotten, brother." I whispered to myself and then clinched my fists.
Yuri does know Makarov...I was so focused on Soap...And all this time, Yuri knew Makarov... My blood began to boil hot with anger.
And just at this moment the windows shattered from gunfire.
"Price this way!" The leader pointed to a doorway.
We all quickly went to the door, "Yuri open it!" Price says.
My blood was about to burst, and my vibe was telling me something and yet again I was helpless on figuring out what it was.
Right as Yuri opens the door I lash out as him and punch him straight across the jaw sending him tumbling down the steps.
I slowly made my way down the steps as I pulled my pistol out of it's holster, "Soap trusted you...I thought I could to so tell me... Why the bloody hell do you know Makarov!"
I point the pistol at his head, he quickly begins to stumble on his own words and my patients has already been broke.
I swiftly pull the gun to the right side of his head and pull the trigger just hardly missing his head, I then do this on the left side.
"HOW!"
BANG!
"THE!"
BANG!
"BLOODY!"
BANG!
"HELL!"
BANG!
"DO!"
BANG!
"YOU! KNOW! MAKAROV!" I scream to the top of my lungs as I finally return the pistol to the center of his head my face felt burning red with anger and my eyes showed pure hatred.
He looks absolutely mortified but spills out an answer, "I was young, and patriotic when I first met Valadmir Makarov. I was there, when Zakhaev was shot in the arm. Zakhaev never forgot what we did for him that day, our reward was power. But power...Corrupts. Thousands of souls dead, by the push of a button...This wasn't war...It was madness...Back in that Russian Airport where the terrorist attack was, I was there before it happened... He shot me, and left me for dead. I was able to get to the elevator and get a pistol. I passed out before I could even get a shot on him. I was a soldier of Russia, not a taker of innocent lives. But in his eyes, this marked me as the enemy."
I give a growl and I'm about to pull the trigger, but Price pushed my arm down, "Okay, Yuri. You've bought yourself some time..."
"For now..." I add darkly as Price pulls Yuri up and Price has his own pistol out and pointed at Yuri.
