Chapter 11- Escapee 1~ Tunnels
Ok, I noticed that I had so many typos in the last chapter that I'm just sitting there like 'wtf is that supposed to say?' Seriously, I am so sorry about that.
Also, I didn't update sooner because my computer spazed out and closed my 8 page chapter for chapter 11. I got so mad that I slammed my computer screen shut and gave up. I also only have about 2 hours when I'm at home and this chapter took me forever! I'm sorry followers. You can beat me for being a terrible updater. *pets random follower's head lovingly* Good, follower.
Ok, enough of that; someone, a dear follower and friend of mine ~ Catovia, mentioned my love life. *sighs* Yes, it's true. It's very stressful. I still don't get how I'm 'attractive'. What does that word even mean?! Yeah, but, I've really given up on it. I finally settled down with the right guy (mu crush :3) and now I'm besties with my fan fiction!
Also, Catovia, yes, Sebastian is a major pervert. I tried to emphasize that in the past chapter to kinda give some feelings. It was grossing me out to even type it, but I also had some fun with it. I think I'm planning on putting more pervy Sebby in later chapters, if every wants that, that is. Thanks for using my word to; I really do use that word too much though, seriously. :P
Ok, so, ready for a horrifying chapter? I'm not. So, for those reading and do not like torture and violence, be warned. But I still have to put the 'warning label' sadly.
WARNING! SOME TORTURE/VIOLENCE!
Ok, raise the curtains! *magical rainbow curtains raise*
TPOV(third Person)
Catherine opened her eyes to find herself in a miniscule cell. The bars were rusting and the ground was covered in dust, clay and mud and what seemed to be dried blood patched around the area. There was also a small pool of blood beginning to dry by her paw.
Paw? Catherine thought as she tried to stand. She had realized she was back in her larger neko* form. Her paws were bloody and most of her fur was clumped with blood and mud. What happened to me? She heard a clang from the opposing cell and her back arched with a hiss escaping her maw.
"Easy, you're in no harm with me, girl." A voice called. There were a few rattles and then the voice again. "What's your name?"
"How did you know what I am?" Catherine sat back down, and licked at her paws on impulse. She then noticed a chain on her front left ankle and around her neck, which was suddenly too tight.
The person -rather, creature- moved further into the light were his features showed. "I'm a nekomimi as well."
"Neko… mimi?"
"A cat-person. Our society today, however, has ruined our being, making the word only for females of our kind. Either way, I can tell when one is near."
When the man, or boy, finally got completely in the light, Catherine could fully see him. He seemed to be her age- maybe 16 or 17. His hair was a light brown with a subtle tint of grey showing. He had striking red cat eyes- one of which was hidden behind his long bangs. His fangs poked from the corners of his mouth and made his lips curve into a slight smile. His shirt was black with a red vest, but it had become filthy form the mud and dirt patched on it from the ground. Around his neck was some form of a choker with a small medallion of a family crest of some sort. He too had chains on his wrist and neck, but the one around his neck hung loosely.
"Why can't I form back to my human form?" Catherine yelped after forcing herself to lie still on the cold marble-stone ground.
The boy chuckled and shook his head. "You first need to calm down. I heard those damned dolls talking about something and I overheard them say you won't be in that form for long. Vulnerable, they said, but I know you. You aren't as weak as they think."
"How exactly do you know of me?" Catherine growled.
"Easy, I said!" He snapped with a jingle of his chains. "I know the tribes all over the world. Many of them know of you and you're affiliation with that demon."
"That demon happens to be my mate!" Catherine growled again, but noticed her fur had not raised on her back, rather, her pale cheeks grew hot form anger.
"You're human again." He pointed out with a thin, pale finger.
"I noticed that!" Catherine snapped, trying to pry the heavy chain form her wrist.
"It shrinks as you do." He sighed heavily. "No point in trying."
"Oi!" Catherine yelped, letting her chains hit the ground with a loud clang. They both flinched from it. "What's your name anyways!?"
"Johnathan…"
"J-J-J-Johnathan?"
"Surprise!" He waved his hands around magically in sarcasm. Catherine could feel it oozing all around her.
"I thought you died in that fire! What about Mum? Since when were you a neko?!"
"Yeah… so did I. I guess cats really do have nine lives. Mum… didn't make it however. I wish I could have saved her though…"
"John!" Catherine yelped and tried to rush to the metal bars, but it yanked her back, making her squeal in agony. "What the hell are you doing here? Why are you locked up in Lucifer's joke of a doll mad house?"
"He's capturing all types of demons. He's got demon hounds in the next chamber over."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." More chain rattling echoes from the opposite side, but Catherine keeps still. "Turns out, he's not even using demons as 'minions' anymore. He's got angels making those freaky dolls for him."
"John…" Catherine whispered quietly. "Why is he constantly trying to kill me?"
"You don't know?" John sat up and wrapped his hands around the rusting bars of his cell. "Bloody hell, Cat, you really are oblivious!"
"What are you talking about!?" Catherine seethed.
"That rose, Cat, the rose! The glass rose!" John jumped up, pressing his face against the bars. His light brown and grey cat ears hidden in his hair twitched at the sudden noise at the far end at the hall.
Catherine did the same, keeping her ears perked up to listen. "What does it have to do with anything?"
"Didn't that demon tell you? Your soul is within it! You are to only demon with a soul. If you can take your soul back into your body, you'd be an unbeatable demon. You're so human-like now, only because you're half human. If you get your soul back, you would be able to control the human and demon abilities you have."
Catherine opened her mouth to speak at least five times, until she finally managed to get words out. "No, way! Seriously?"
"That's' why the angels are teamed up with this creep. You know-"
There was a clang not for from their cells followed by a loud whistled tune. Catherine frowned and bared her fangs at the shadow coming. John waved her away to scoot into the darkest corner of her cell. Catherine did so, hiding all her being, squeezed in the best she could.
"Oi, lass!" The voice called to her in what could have been an Australian accent. "Yer papa's collin'. 'Ee claims to 'ave a story fur yah." There were faint jingles and the door swung open. The figure walked closer.
Now's my chance! Catherine's skin danced excitedly as she crept closer to the figure and pounced, knocking his head into a sturdy beam in another corner. The man yelled and pulled out a tinted blade. Catherine shrunk back, knowing it was safer to keep away from that blade.
"Oh? Seen dis blade bafur 'ave yee?" The man squeaked with laughter. The man grabbed at Catherine's upper arm, yanking her up. Her cuffs restrained and pulled her back to the ground. Blood pooled from the place where the rusted, iron cuffs dug into her flesh.
"Ouch!" Catherine growled. "If you're going to yank me, the least you could do is take the damned cuffs from my ankle and wrist!"
"Sharp tongue fur a youngin' like yee, doncha think?"
"Duh, I'm a demon!"
The man cut her cheek with the blade earning a squeak from Catherine, undid the cuffs and dragged her away to the new room at the end of the hall.
"Catherine!" John yelled before the door slammed shut.
-T-G-R-
Inside the room, which was much like a wine cellar, was a small tube against the wall where two chains attached to cuffs hung. The tube was filled with a dark substance Catherine had guessed was blood.
Oh, and Catherine was hanging from those chains, half unconscious. She wasn't sure how that happened. Her body was already shaking and dripping with the strange similar, black substance in the bin. She was now dressed in a pale white dress showing off all the figure she had for a fifteen year old girl. Her legs were scratched and bleeding. Her arms showed signs of scratches, but they had already healed.
"Ah, you're awake! Now it will be more fun to torture you." A man with white hair and purpled eyes stared at her with a grin. He wore a crisp white suit as well.
"Who the hell are you?" Catherine growled. Her tail swished angrily behind her.
"Oh, you really do have a cruel mouth for such a young girl. Blanche was right about you."
"Who. Are. You?"
"My name is Ash. I will be serving you for the remainder of your stay here. After that, you'll take a visit to our undertaker." The man called Ash grinned evilly. There was a glint in his eye- something you'd only see in a demon's eye.
"Why do you freaky angels and demons keep capturing me? What importance am I?"
"You're a foolish child!" Ash growled and threw a small dagger at her, piercing it into her right palm. "You are of great importance! Just your blood is pure with human and demon. No other creature is like you!"
"Pft, that can't be true! I was human-"
"In your past life, sweetheart. This time, you're a demon and human in one!" He threw another dagger at her, piercing it into her other palm. "No, enough questions. I was asked to get answers, and answers I shall have!"
Two brilliant white wings sprung from Ash's back and danced in the air as he flapped then a few times. His feet left the ground with a light leap and a thin saber was drawn from his hilt. He held the blade to his lips with a smile. In a lightning flash speed, the saber was sent at an angle cutting into Catherine's shoulder, stomach and hip. He did it once more, making an X across the girl's chest. Catherine screamed out in pain, hanging her head panting afterwards.
"Ah, I love that sound. A demon suffering is music to my ears!" Ash laughed with a wicked grin. Ash pressed his hand on the bottom of the two daggers, shoving them deeper into her hands making them eventually hit the cabal stone wall behind her. She screamed out again as Ash dragged the daggers down her pale arms creating small slits where blood pooled. It was a graphic sight really- something that would even make the strongest wince.
"You see… I seek pureness and perfection in the world-" He dug a dagger into her him, twisting it around a few times. "In which you demons are ruining for me. To have a demon with human blood in their veins- why, that's something that could destroy all the demons, and bring pureness!" With that last word, he pulled out the dagger and shoved it into her thigh.
"Why… an angel… why use a demon?" Catherine panted. Blood was dripped from all parts of her body and from her lips. Her wounds didn't heal as fast as a normal demon's would. She guessed from the sticky black substance coating her.
"Why? Ohoho, well simply for the reason of pureness. You- if fully human- would be the purest of that species!" Ash seethed; he seemed to be angry with all the questions.
"Me? Pure?" Catherine let out a pained laugh. "There is no such thing as pure on this earth. This world is corrupted-"
Ash slapped her angrily while driving a dagger as deep into the right of her chest so her heart wouldn't be punctured. "Liar! Pureness plagues this world! You are too blind to see it because you are the demon!"
"Ash, just because I'm a demon doesn't mean I'm bad! Not all demons are bad. I lived my whole life acting as a human. Demons can be good!-"
"Shut up!" Ash grabbed a fist of her hair and slammed her head into the wall. "I tried to be generous with how to get my answers from you, but in the end, you didn't even let me ask questions." He pulled out the dagger and sliced a tip off of her right cat ear. Catherine screamed much louder than she ever has in her life. She'd never forget that pain either. "Now then, behave like a good girl and stay put. I will return."
Catherine hung for a few long minutes, slightly tired and exhausted. Catherine yanked herself downwards from the chains for her fifth try and finally, she slipped out. She fell into the large bucket of blood and sticky substance making it splash up all around her, getting into her hair and all over her pale dress stained with blood. No time to worry now, Cat. I just need to get out of here.
So Catherine did exactly that. She made her way to the door across from where Ash had exited. This door led to a series of tunnels- each lit a different color. There was red, blue, purple, white, green and a pitch black tunnel. Catherine noticed that the blue, red and white all had symbols posted on the walls while the others did not.
'You are just too blind to see it!"
Why those words ringed out to her now, Catherine wondered. She nodded her head, making her way down the narrow, pitch black hallway. As she walked, she kept her hands on the walls but not too harshly, in case of secret buttons or switches. Suddenly, a clicking noise echoed from the halls.
Click!
Cliick!
Click! Click!
Catherine's skin raised to goose bumps now. Her one good cat ear was titled, listening closely for footsteps. Her tail swished to the rhythm of the clicking, while she tried to figure out that familiar pattern of clicks.
Click! Click! Click!
Click Clack!
A new toned click echoed. This terrified her. She couldn't see, one of her ears was damaged so she was unable to hear properly, and her body ached. She knew it would give out at any moment. Catherine hummed a simple tune to relax her mind, but it seemed to make the clicking get louder.
CREEEEEAAK!
Catherine jumped and took off running. Her feet and muscles screamed in the process, but she knew it wouldn't matter if she couldn't get away.
First, I know it's short, but there's most likely going to be three parts.
Second, what is that god-awful clicking? Its freaking me out just typing it! D:
Third, there WILL still be an update either Saturday or Sunday. The only reason I didn't this past was because of computer troubles. Again, sorry. :(
So, what do you guys think it is? What's Catherine hearing? Also, what do you guys think she's covered in?
these two will be very important to the remainder of the story. Also that, you guys got a little light on what's going down with Cat's background and why she's being chased, if you didn't figure that out already.
Anyone want to take a gander at why I put John back into this story? Hint: it relates to a character of the last story who died towards the end but not at the very.
This will not be given for a while, but I will be dropping clues and hints here and there. Anyone who does get it, before I tell you who or why I did that, well it's a surprise for what I'll do for you. ;)
Ok, with that over and done, I want to thank you all so very much for being patient with me.
Thanks again, and please share you're thoughts! Bye bye!
