A/N: Some interesting stuff happened to me since my last update. And by interesting I mean terrible, my laptop's motherboard died and I didn't have the money to replace it. You know what that means. I'm down a laptop and Apple is a bunch of assholes. They were gonna give me a laptop to use but were planning on charging me rent on it. So I had to save up my money to get a new one. Thank god for my job haha. Last week I finally made enough to replace it and can finally write again, on my brand new laptop :D. So expect more chapters in the near future and sorry about the long delay.
Chapter 13: The Plot Revealed
Karma felt uneasy, there was a certain cloud over her arcane powers as of late, and it wasn't due to a personal disconnection from her ancestors. She decided she needed some time to meditate and resync with the Elder Spirits, and was not present at the Grey Order's next practice, much to the team's dismay. However, this was something Karma had to do, for if she didn't this uneasy feeling wouldn't cease.
As she approached her wing of the hallway, she ran into an interesting individual, one she did not expect to see there.
"Hello Akali, what brings you to the Ionian dormitories?" Karma asked, as small smile played across her lips.
"I'm here on business," Akali stated calmly, "I don't want any trouble here, but if you raise an alarm I wont hesitate to kill you where you stand."
"What about the peace that is required by all champions in the league?" Karma asked, crossing her arms.
"I'm involved in something much bigger than the league, and killing another mere champion would mean very little to me."
"Indeed, what are you involved in little one?"
"I'm not little anymore, and you can't treat me as if I was. I'm involved in something bigger than you."
"Indeed you are. I presume it involves the Grey Order, and its predecessors. I'm sure, Zed," she put emphasis on his name, "has told you all about it."
Akali winced, "How did you know-?"
"I am Karma, the Enlightened One, do you think I don't know these things. The only thing I don't know, is his plan. What is his plan Akali?"
"Like I'd tell you," Akali responded, crossing her arms, making the twin blades at her hip lightly tap her hips.
Karma eyed them and before Akali could react, she could feel herself bound, "What are you doing to me you vile woman!" she yelled. Before she could react she felt Karma enter her mind, she tried to resist Karma's resolve but to no avail.
Karma opened her eyes suddenly, "You can't be serious. That is Zed's plan. This is. This is terrible."
Akali fell flat on her back, dazed and confused from the forced entry into her mind. She looked up at Karma who had just penetrated the inner depths of her mind, and couldn't form the curses she wished to slander her with.
Karma turned and as she walked away muttered to herself, "this is why I've felt disconnected from my abilities as of late."
Annie yawned and rolled out of her bed to a knock on her door. She opened the door and was surprised to see Ezreal there, breathless and frantic.
"Annie! Did you see the match between Demacia and the Institute!"
Annie shook her head, and Ezreal continued, "During the match, I saw Jarvan steal the key around fiddlestick's neck. So I did a little research and I figured out what the key is for, and," he pulled the article from his pocket, "you're gonna wanna read this."
Annie looked down at the piece of paper Ezreal had handed her. She gasped, "You mean they can summon us to the field and if we die there it can kill us too. That's bad. Very bad. What do we do?"
"I dont know if there's anything we can do, I've been showing this to as many champions as I can, but not many people take me seriously, I don't know what to do."
Annie shook her head, "I don't think there's anything we can do! Maybe we should ask Karma, Karma would know what to do."
Ezreal nodded his head, "perhaps your right. Let's see if we can find her somewhere."
With that the duo quickly left and began the trip to the onian quarters. To their surprise they ran into none other than Karma, Graves, and Volibear all standing in the hallway talking in hushed voices. After noticing them, Karma waved them over.
"Good! you're here. We have a situation, I've discovered a betrayal within the league!"
Ezreal looked to Annie worriedly as Karma continued, "Yes, I did a little probing from our friend Akali and found that Noxia and Demacia are looking to rock this very place to its core. Their plan is to use the summoning method the summoners use to force our body and soul into the rift, and if we are killed on the rift. We die for real. All to maintain their illusion of 'control.' Unfortunately, it seems the summoners in the institute are in on this as well. Which means..."
"We can't trust anyone," Volibear finished, "I would suggest we stick close together at all times. If they split us up, they will probably try to stab us in the back."
"But why like this," Ezreal asked, "Why would they try to kill us in such a complex fashion, why not silently in our sleep?"
Karma grinned slightly, "Because they want to destroy the Grey Order. Killing us in our sleep would turn us into martyrs and the separate city-state would definitely happen, however if they hide the assassination behind a malfunction with the rift itself, the illusion of the Institute of war being a far and jsut place remains."
"But people would have to know this wasn't just a normal malfunction, right?"
Karma shook her head, "Unfortunately this wouldn't be the first time it happened. The last time that happened, Kassadin was sucked into the Void. It changed him, and Kassadin died that day. What returned was a monster, and with Kassadin came two more. Cho'gath and Kog'Maw. Why do you think Kassadin has to wear that breathing apparatus? That's what has been keeping him alive all these years. The death of one and the birth of two makes it plausible that it could happen again."
"So," Graves looked around, "What should we do? Should we break out of here, or should we fight, knowing the danger of this place?"
Volibear looked from face to face, "If we run now, the Grey Order will surely fall for good. This appears to be an all-in situation. Eith we fight this battle or we risk losing the Grey Order."
Karma nodded silently, "This will be our toughest battle yet. We all have to survive. And unfortunately, we are fighting Noxia in the semi-finals. That would be a tough battle under normal circumstances, but with the addition of this we are going to be in a ver precarious position. I hope you guys are ready for this."
They all looked to each other until Annie spoke up, "So. When do we fight them?"
Graves smiled, "The fire in this one shines brightly."
Volibear beat his chest, "I'd ride into the most perilous battlefields with you."
Vi smiled, "I like her attitude, punch first, then ask questions. reminds me of some other badass I know."
Karma smiled, "If you are all ready to fight this battle...I will see you tomorrow morning on the Rift, and hopefully by the end, I'll see all your smiling faces."
Ezreal nodded his head, "I know I'm not on your team, but I'll help you guys any way I can.
Everyone thanked Ezreal and then went into Karma's room to further plan, everyone except Karma that is.
"Ezreal," Karma said, causing him to stop and look back at her, "I have something very important I need you to do. I need you to go to Nasus. Find him, and tell him of the situation. If all goes according to plan, we wont need Nasus's help, but things hardly go as planned."
Ezreal nodded his head, and without another word he headed off to find Nasus.
Chapter 14: Zed's Gambit
Akali fell to the ground, her ribs breaking in the process. She cried out and Zed looked back at her, and threw a shuriken at the masked attacker. The shuriken cut the hood off, revealing the blonde locks as shen threw another blade at Zed. Zed grabbed it and threw it over at Kennen who easily rushed over it, turning intoa ball of lightining in the process. Akali slowly got up and dashed to Kennen, intercepting his assault on Zed. Lux smiled and fired a beam of light at Akali and Zed. Akali managed to dodge it, but Zed was not so lucky. The beam cleaved through hish shoulder, blasting a large chunk of meat from it and leaving his arm useless. He looked down at it, and for the first time, Akali heard pain escape his lips.
Kennen smiled, "Hey Akali, we found a new fist of shadow, and she's got better curves than you."
Lux smiled, "I can see why you enjoyed this job so much Akali, but why leave it?"
Akali shook her head, "I have my reasons. Its ironic that you are the first of shadow now, lady of luminosity."
Lux nodded her head, "I was confused when they chose me as well but I dont question it. Anyway, its time for you to die."
Akali shook her head, "not today."
And with that she threw her shroud down and the two disappeared. Saftely away Akali tore her mask off, revealing the horrified expression on her face, "Zed! Zed! No, Zed, please be okay. No this is so bad."
Zed looked up at her, "Akali. I'm going to die. This situation caught me off gaurd, but i think its time to reveal to you my true plan. Remove my mask."
Akali complied, slowly lifting the mask and revealing the masked face underneath, and slowly she began to pull the face mask down, revealing his face. He felt her tears fall on his body, and they ran the down the crisscrossing scars on his face.
"It's time I explain to you the true plan. The plan is not for the Shadow Order to absorb the Grey Order, but the be absorbed by it. You see, Karma is your greatest ally, and mine as well. I suppose I should tell you our story. He looked into her eyes and relaxed his operational shoulder, "get comfortable, this is gonna be a long story."
Zed stood strong, surrounded by multiple enmy ninjas. The ninjas rushed him at once and Zed used the blades on his arms to deflect the blows. Kicking one of the ninjas off his blade, he used this as an opportunity to run another one through, his blade sinking deep into the ninja' chest. The next overhead swing caught Zed off guard, but he managed to black it, however the blade's cold steel touched his head and slowly dug into it, making a long gash from his forehead to his chin over his right eye. Enraged he kicked the other ninja off him and ran away. He leapt into the tree tops and fled for the bridge, however as he reached it, he felt a blade sink through his chest. Surprised he realized they had one of their allies hiding in a tree.
As Zed feel towards the ground he saw the bridge only feet away, and as the other ninja came to deliver the finishing blow Zed smiled and pulled the sword from his chest, flipping it and causing it to run this ninja through. He continued his crawl to the bridge where his allies were to save him.
"There he is!" he heard Shen yell.
Smiling he raised his arm, "Shen! I am victorious! Let's go home."
However when he didnt hear a response he began to worry, and when he looked up he was horrified to see Shen's blade cutting the rope of the bridge, "I'm sorry Zed, fist of Shadow. Unfortunately, you have become a Master of Deceit, and your time with the Kinkou has come to an end."
As Zed felt the pressure of the bridge dissapate and himself fall he smiled as he fell into the shadows, "Master of deceit, no. Master of Shadows. I am Zed! The Master of Shadows!"
This was believed to be the last words of Zed, however underneath the bridge there had been a small group of people. The saw him land, and their leader, Karma called them to action, "we must save him, hurry!"
Without a word large wolf-like creature with them picked Zed up, "he does not look very good Karma, we best hurry if we are to save him."
Karma nodded her head, "well spotted Nasus, let's move people, back to the safe house."
In the safe house, karma tended to Zed all night, slowly closing the wound in his chest and healing his face as best as she could.
While healing his face, she felt him wake up and slap her hands away, "I want the scars. They are a reminder to me. Don't heal them."
Surprised, Karma obliged and allowed the scars to heal naturally. Over the next few weeks, Zed slowly regain his strength, walking around the safe house, trying to get his feeling back, his rage growing with each passing day. Sensing this karma pulled him aside one day
"Zed," she stated, hugging him and whispering in his ear, "Why are you so angry. Please, you're aura is so negative, I fear it is clouding your judgement."
Zed clenched and unclenched his fists, "I was betrayed by the Kinkou. I was once the Fist of Shadow, and now. I'm a Ronin Ninja." (A/N: Ronin: a wandering samurai/warrior with no master or home).
"I can feel the turmoil within you, please, I'd like to help you settle this turmoil."
Zed shook his head, "I can never regain peace until I kill those responsible for my betrayal."
Karma shook her head, "Maybe I have a way I can help you."
Zed cocked his head, "How so."
She smiled, "I am a member of another secret organization that has opposed the Kinkou, as well as Noxus and Demacia for centuries. If you'd join us, perhaps we could help you punish those responsible for betrayal against you."
Zed smiled, "I'm interested, what do you people do here?"
"Well, like the Kinkou we seek to restore order, however unlike the Kinkou our goal is to achieve balance for Avaron, not for Noxus and Demacia. We are always accepting new members, especially ones with a skill set such as your own, it's quite impressive."
Zed smiled, "You think? How do I know you wont also betray me?"
Karma shook her head, and leaned her face closer to his until it was centimeters from Zed's, "Let. Me. Show. You."
He nodded his head, his lips parting slightly, and his heart beating slightly faster.
She smiled and pulled him into another room that had a book within it, this document showed many members of the order, and their different assignments.
"If you choose to join us Zed, I have a very special job for you. I want you to create your own Order of Shadows and ally yourself with us. We'll provide you with a base of operations as well as a small following for you to teach as you please. Then, once your Shadow Order has gathered a large enough following you can take out the Kinkou, and help us replace the Kinkou as the means of keeping balance in the world. the choice is yours, and if you aren't interested feel free to leave. We are not doing this to make you into a lapdog of any sort, once you create your order you have the choice of remaining a separate entity from us or joining the Grey Order, we are fighting for the equality of all and would give you no less than that."
Zed shook his head, "You have caught my attention now. I'm very interested in joining. I'll create this Order of Shadows, and as the master of Shadows I will train the next generation of ninja."
Karma smiled, "Good, now come with me."
The two walked across the house to Karma's bedroom, "Now Zed. The world thinks you are dead, and we want to maintain that illusion so the kinkou does not attack you before you are ready for it, so I have something for you."
As they entered the room, she started to walk opened a small shrine exposing a wicked set of dark armor, "this belonged to the first generation of Grey Order templar and is traditionally worn by the most elite warrior's of the Grey Order."
Zed smiled wide, the armor looked amazing, he thin plates did not look as if they'd constrict his movement at all, while still offering great protection, however something about this didn't sit right with him, "Why are you doing this, Karma?"
Karma smiled, "You fell from the sky. I assume you were given to us by the gods for exactly this reason, even if it was due to the betrayal of your allies, it helped you to find us, and for that...I am thankful."
Zed nodded his head, "I guess life is strange that way, there is no hope for the weak. We have to continually seek power, lest we are forsaken by our allies."
Karma took a step towards Zed and put one hand on his face, "I suppose, but you are a powerful man. I'm sure you are not weak at all. You seem like the type who would take what they want."
With that she wrapped her arms around his neck and brought her face closer to his. Too close, and Zed wasnt sure what she was doing until her lips touched his. Surprised he accepted them, they were warm. they made him feel comfortable here. He was glad he found this woman. His joy at finding this place grew as she pulled him on top of her, She slowly spread her legs and allowed him to grind his body closer to hers.
Excitedly, she took his pants off and allowed him to slide her underwear off. Before Zed slowly slid inside her, he asked her, "Why?"
She smiled and allowed him to enter her, "because, you fell from the heavens and were everything I needed in the Grey Order's situation. You are going to do so much for us, I just wanted to do something for you."
Zed closed his eyes, and slid himself deeper inside her. She moaned into his ear to his pleasure and he enjoyed every inch of her body. He quickly ripped her robe off and exposed her dark breasts. Taking one in his hand he squeezed it while he continued to slide his hips back and forth. She cried out his name throughout the night as he began to shift her body inot different positions and slide his penis deeper.
The next morning he awoke in the house alone. All that remained in the the room was the bed and the suit of armor, which was staring at him. It was then that he realized. This home he was in, this would be his dojo. Excited, he began training immediately to master the shadows.
Zed coughed up blood, and handed one of his gauntlet's to Akali, "So now you understand. I created this order to aide the Grey Order in their pursuit of equality in the world. I was too weak to kill Shen myself, but maybe if you can keep yourself aliveyou can fulfill the order of the shadow."
He reached into his armor and pulled a black key from within its depths. "When you are ready, ask Karma to take you to where it all began. There you will find the chest with the secret to winning the war against the world superpowers."
He slowly leaned up and grabbed the back of Akali's head, kissing her and thenn falling back down, dead.
With tears running down her cheeks, Akali grabbed the key from his hand, and placed Zed's mask on her head (A/N: In a similar fashion to her blood moon skin. If you dont know what it looks like, look it up).
Revitalized, she left Zed's body there after closing his eyes and hurried to find Karma, her only purpose left in life being to fill Zed's shoes and defending theMaster of Shadows honor. She quietly closed his eyes and brought her lips to his, giving him one last good bye kiss. She felt she owed it to him.
(A/N): You'll notice that i decided to shift the focus away from Lux's half of the story. I decided to make these chapters really juicy with a lot of plot developments, hopefully I've begun to blow you away with my awesome writing skills :D Maybe? No matter, this just got really fun and I'm flying through this. I'm thinking I can probably finish this story in one more chapter. It's gonna seem abrupt but my writing buddy always told me, 'leave 'em waning more.' Its been a crazy journey so far, and I can't wait to see how I decided to finish this up.
