2 DAYS LATER: HARRY'S PERSPECTIVE
Every day is a new challenge without Katie. Fred has locked himself in his room and only George can get a word out of him. Ron cries himself to sleep at night; I hear his sniffles and feel his silent tears. Hermione writes letters to Katie on how everyone is then burns them in the fire. I read one of them; it was full of sorrow and Hermione's tears.
I'd like to say I'm hit the hardest, but I know I'm not; I don't cry myself to sleep, lock myself up, or write sad letters.
6 DAYS LATER: RON'S PERSPECTIVE
George and I guided Fred out to the courtyard where Katie's funeral is being held. Tears drip down his face onto his robes, soaking them with Fred's love for her.
"Hey, man. She's in a better place now." George tries.
Fred lets out a mangled sob. "How can she be? She's not here."
Suddenly I stop. Standing in the crowd I see Malfoy. My mind runs wild with thoughts of him ruining the ceremony. "Wait here." I snarl.
Three steps later I hear Fred's call behind me. He noticed who I was after and is now trying to stop me, I have no idea why though.
"Malfoy! You dare come here!" I shout when I come up to him. He turns and is instantly met with my palm across his face.
"What is wrong with you?" He shouts back.
"What ar-" I start before I'm shoved to the ground.
"What are you both doing?" Fred looms above us both. "Katie wouldn't want you to fight. Especially on a day like today!"
I fight back the army of tears threatening to surface. "You're right Fred. Katie wouldn't want this."
SAME DAY: FRED'S PERSPECTIVE
The ceremony was almost over before Malfoy took Dumbledore's spot on the podium from which he spoke. I felt Ron stiffen next to me. I put my hand on him and he relaxed slightly.
"I've finally come to realize what this girl meant to some of you." Malfoy starts. I bite my tongue to hold back a response. "To me, she was just a girl who made bad choices more often than not, but to all of you she was much more. She was hope. She was someone to lean on. She was a saving grace. But most importantly, she was an add-on to the school. Everyday she told herself she didn't belong, but everyone here made her feel differently. Gryffindor loved her, treated her like family. Hufflepuff looked up to her for loyalty to her friends, which was so great, event they couldn't achieve. Ravenclaw praised her for her intelligence not only in magic, but everything around her. But Slytherin, well, Slytherin despised her, and I think that was wrong. We should have treated her like our sister, like family, just as everyone is here. I am here before you know not only to announce what was wrong, but to apologize to her before she goes away forever." He pauses and a small, unnoticeable tear slips down his unblemished face. "I'm sorry, Katie."
He turns to leave and I start clapping. He turns to me, a look of astonishment plastered to him. I smile and Ron and George clap as well. Soon enough, the entire courtyard is clapping for the misfit boy who just gave an incredible speech on a girl he didn't even know.
And I'm proud, for this is all Katie could ask for.

And thank you guys for all the comments you've left me even though I don't deserve them... (even though they're so much fun to read and I've been begging since Chp. 1) Enjoy the rest of your lives and keep reading! -wolfhound22
