Lissa and I were going shopping with the whole gang. It was Lissa, Mia, Dimitri, Christian, Skylar, and I. Dimitri and Christian decided to look at boy clothes across the store so us girls would have some bonding time.
"So, Mia, what do you think of Skylar?" Lissa asked. We didn't see that when people weren't looking, Mia was using her water Element to make water appear and swirl around Skylar.
"I love her. She's absolutely adorable, Rose." Mia said while making faces at Skylar.
"That's good to hear, because we need a babysitter." Mia jerked her head up at me. "The only other solution was for Dimitri and I to resign." Mia's eyes widened.
"I can't believe you went to that solution, but I'd be happy to babysit. When do you need me?" She asked and I chewed on my lip.
"See, it's more of a nanny position. You'd be moving to Palace Housing. We have a spare bedroom that we put Skylar's bed in."
"Gee, Rose, I don't know. I'd have to talk to my dad."
"We already talked to him and he started packing for you this morning." Lissa said while looking at a shirt.
"Well then, when do I start?" Mia asked cheerfully. I sighed in relief.
"As soon as possible," I said. "I don't see anything here. Let's go to the next store." Mia grabbed Skylar's carrier as we went to Forever XXI. Nausea rolled over me and I took a step back. My eyes peeled around and I saw four Strigoi feeding on women. Shit.
"GET IN THE STORE!" I shouted at them. They ran in the store and Lissa handed me my stake. I ran down to the Strigoi and jumped off the escalator. I just happened to land on one of them and they were taken off guard. I kicked one in the stomach and he was taken aback. The others were busy feeding. One came from behind me and grabbed my arms. Oh shit.
"ROSE!" Dimitri shouted. I struggled within the Strigoi's grasp, but he was too strong. I lifted my left leg and kicked him in the shin. My arms were let go and I turned around and punched him in the eye. He grabbed my arm and twisted it. I grimaced, but that gave me an opening to stake the bastard. He writhed in pain and stopped moving. I turned around to see that Dimitri had killed one which means there were three left. I ran at the Strigoi and tried to just Stake him. He grabbed my wrists so tightly, I thought they were going to break. I kicked him between the legs and a grunt told me I'd hit home. He almost keeled over when I scraped his shoulder with the stake. He snarled in pain and came at me. The Strigoi tackled me and I rolled on top. He tried to sit up, but I punched him in the forehead. Sadly, Strigoi don't sleep or pass out, so that was a loss. He knocked his head back on the tile and his features went slack for a moment. I needed that moment. I staked him in the heart and he was gone. There was one left that just stared at me. I lunged for him and Dimitri helped me. He grabbed the Strigoi's arms and tried to keep him straight. I staked him in the heart and once his features fell slack, I fell back gasping for air and Dimitri came to my side.
"Roza, Rose, we have to go." I nodded and he helped me up. We ran to Forever XXI where they were shopping! I was breathing heavily when Lissa came to hug me.
"Are you okay?" She asked me, eyeing me up and down.
"I'm fine. I'm just exhausted. There were four Strigoi and only two of us." I said, wiping my forehead.
"Rose took out three of them." Dimitri said in awe. I leaned on him blushing, mostly for support. Dimitri went to go talk to head of Lissa's guardians. Lissa's other Guardians talked to me.
"You took out three?" One said.
"Wow, you are badass." Another said.
"I guess," I said, shrugging and laughing a little bit.
"Rose! Look at this shirt I found for Skylar!" Lissa said. I nodded to the other Guardians and they nodded to me. I went over to Lissa and she had the perfect shirt. "It says, 'My Mommy Rawks!' with a guitar on it! I know how much you like music." I laughed.
"What was that song we always listened to in the car with Andre?" I giggled.
"Love Like Woe by The Ready Set," She giggled with me. Mia looked uncomfortable. I might as well tell her now.
"Mia, did we tell you?" I asked.
"Tell me what?" She looked confused.
"The Bond's back." Lissa whispered. Mia was wide eyed. We gave her a minute to realize what we mean.
"So… that means you went to the World of the Dead?" She asked quietly.
"Yeah, and Andre admits he was a total jerk and says he's sorry." I suddenly looked up and saw Andre winking at me. I shook my head in exasperation.
"You just saw him, didn't you?" Lissa asked.
"Yeah, and he was doing his signature wink." We all laughed, even Mia.
"I accept his apology if you ever get the chance to tell him that." She had a small smile on her face. Christian came up to Lissa.
"Hey, Beautiful." I remembered something.
"Hey Christian, I forgot to do something the minute I came back from Russia." I said.
"What was it?" He looked confused. Lissa smiled and backed up. I ran up and hugged him. He hesitated for a second, but then he held me tightly letting out a ragged breath.
"I'm always here for you. Remember that, okay?" He nodded, backing up, wiping a few tears.
"I know." He said.
"So, did you guys get anything for me?" I asked cheerfully. Lissa jokingly held up a One Direction shirt. I glared at her.
"Kidding, we got you some makeup because you always complain about how you're running out and then we got you some Victoria Secret," she then whispered in my ear, "Lingerie," I gaped at her and everyone laughed.
"Are you serious?" I asked. They all nodded, even Christian. We left and I snatched the Victoria Secret bag and peeked. I instantly looked away. Everyone laughed at me and I scowled. Dimitri came behind me and I hid the baggie with my other hand. Even when Dimitri was holding my hand, he could scope out the place. We got to the car and safely got in. Since we all couldn't fit in one car, Dimitri and Christian had agreed to go in another car.
"I can't believe you got me lingerie," I said, shaking my head.
"You need it. Have a little spark in your relationship with Dimitri before you get married. Oh, I also got you this." It was a magazine that said, Marriage Weekly. Of Course she would.
"I haven't even picked out my dress yet."
"That's where we're headed next!" Lissa said mysteriously.
"Where is Dimitri going?" I demanded.
"He's going to try on his tux." Mia said with a grin.
"You're in on this too? I hate being out of the loop." I looked at Skylar and she farted and giggled at me. Lissa stared at me, I stared at Mia, and Mia stared at Lissa.
"NOSE GOES!" I touched my nose and Lissa touched her nose last. We all laughed and she joined in the laughter.
"Okay! I'll change her." Lissa said. We got back to Court and we went deep into the bowels of the Royal part. We found a bridal shop and Lissa, Mia, and I went right in. Everyone bowed as soon as Lissa entered the room and Lissa grimaced.
"Rise," She said. Then she dashed to the bathroom with Skylar and her diaper bag. Mia started helping me look for dresses. She found a spaghetti strap chiffon dress that puffed up below the waist. I shook my head.
"I want one just like that, but strapless." I said, ruffling through dresses. Lissa came back out with Skylar and was gagging. I laughed at her and went back to the dresses. I found almost the exact same, but it was strapless and in my price range.
"What do you guys think?" I asked, holding the dress to myself.
"It'd be better if you try it on." Mia said.
"Yeah, go try it on." Lissa encouraged me. I nodded and went into the changing room. A knock came and I opened the door. A dressmaker came in and helped me get the dress on.
"You look amazing, Guardian Hathaway." She gushed.
"Thanks, I hope my friends like it." I said honestly. The dressmaker held the end of my dress as I walked out and I went on the podium. They all gasped in awe and Lissa took a picture.
"ACK! No pictures! Not yet, at least. What do you guys think?" I asked, chewing on my lip.
"I love it. It's amazing, Rose." Mia said.
"Lissa?" I asked. She looked at me with tears in her eyes.
"I – I love it… honestly." I picked up my dress and went to go hug her. She hugged me back. "I can't believe you're going to be married soon and you're only eighteen," She sniffled. "I'm proud of you."
I laughed. "For what?"
"For waiting to find the right guy and even though you went through Hell to save him, love conquers all."
I then sniffled. "I have to go change before I cry all over this dress. But it's definitely a YES?" They both nodded. I then nodded and went to go change. I came back out and asked the dressmaker to wrap the dress up.
"Do you know when the wedding is?" She asked.
"We're still working on that. It could be a couple weeks to a couple months. We'll let you know, though." I winked at her and she blushed as we walked out of the store. Mia's dad suddenly walked up to us with a giant suitcase.
"DAD! What are you doing here?" Mia blushed in embarrassment.
"I came to drop off your stuff. Guardian Belikov told me you'd be here. So, here I am. I'm proud of you, sweetie. You worked hard and now you get to play hard." He winked at her and swaggered out. Lissa and I blinked.
"That's your dad?" We both asked. She nodded, grabbing her suitcase.
"Better than mine ever was." I said and Lissa said nothing. I took the dress to my room and showed Mia around. "So this is your room. You have your own iPod speakers, but we mostly use them for Skylar, it helps her sleep. The TV is free for you to use. There's a list of channels that are blocked but have a code on it so you can unlock it." Mia nodded. "Other than that, we'll pay for food and laundry and such."
"Gosh, Rose. I don't know how to thank you." She said while looking around.
"Please just say yes." I pleaded. "I want to Guard Lissa, but I also want to be a mom. I want to prove to my dad I can do this."
"Yes," She nodded, "I'll do it." I hugged her and Dimitri came in. "I'll just let you two get, um, settled in." Mia sauntered in the guest bedroom with Skylar and turned the TV on high and I silently thanked God for having such an awesome friend.
"Was that Mia I saw going into the guest bedroom?" He asked.
"Yep," I nodded.
"So we have this room all to ourselves…" He came closer to me and I gulped.
"WAIT!" I said. He looked confused. I ran to Mia. She looked confused. "Mia, where's the lingerie?"
"In that bag right there. Are you guys seriously having sex right now?" She asked, laughing lightly.
"Dimitri has a look of, 'I want you here and I want you now.' It's creepy and it's kind of hot." I said while getting it on.
"Well, have fun you two. We're just here watching Phineas and Ferb." I laughed.
"I owe you big time, Mia." I winked at her and ran back out the door.
"So… where were we?" I asked. Dimitri's mouth dropped open and I could tell he wanted me right then and there so he picked me up and brought me to bed. "EEK!" I yelped. He ripped that lingerie right off me as he was kissing me viciously and then I got him to take his shirt off. He practically kicked his pants off and then soon underwear. He put a hand through my hair and pulled me closer. As he pulled me to him, I felt his erection. Glad to know I turn him on. I tilted my pelvis up to meet his and he inhaled sharply. He suddenly fell on top of me. I looked up at him and he looked down at me. He had this ravenous look on his face that said, 'You're mine and I'm going to take you now.' I nodded at him and he eased inside me slowly. I gasped, feeling the joy. He went in and out. In. Out. In. Out. He went faster and faster and soon enough, I couldn't take it. "Christ, Dimitri!" I said as we both came and fell back. He came out and lay down next to me.
"I think that's the best sex we've ever had." Dimitri said in between breaths.
"No," I disagreed. "Nothing is better than the cabin."
"You're right," He chuckled kissing my hair.
"I have to go see how Skylar and Mia are." I got up and he smacked my ass. My mouth dropped open as I stared at him.
"Goodnight," He said as he turned over. I put on my bathrobe and went into Mia's room. Skylar was dead asleep in her crib, but Mia was channel surfing. She laughed quietly when she saw me.
"You have terrible sex hair." She said as she pat a seat on the bed for me to sit down.
"Well, I wasn't kidding. Dimitri was ravenous to say the least."
"How was it… the sex?" She asked eagerly.
"It's amazing and it gets better every time. I just thank God every day that we found Skylar because Dimitri and I are unable to have children, effing genetics. You're lucky Mia. Don't let that special guy slip away."
Mia blinked at my audacity. "I won't Rose, I promise. We should both probably get to bed. We have more wedding planning to do tomorrow."
I nodded. "Goodnight Mia," I hugged her and then I planted a kiss on Skylar's forehead.
"Goodnight, Rose," Then I walked back into my bedroom and cuddled up next to Dimitri. I wrapped my arms around him and he grabbed them.
"What was that all about?" He asked.
"Oh, we were just talking about how great sex is." He turned around and his eyes widened. "Okay, I'm kidding. What we were really talking about is that I walked in and she said I had terrible sex hair." Dimitri chuckled and played with strands of my hair. "Then she asked me how sex was and I said you were ravenous to say the least and every time we have sex it gets better. Then I told her she was lucky because of genetics and how we were so lucky to have found Skylar. I told her never to let that lucky guy slip away because I sure as hell didn't." I pecked him on the lips and it became intense.
"You didn't, did you?" He said right in front of my face and OH MY GOD I could smell his aftershave.
"Don't, we have to go to bed. More wedding planning tomorrow." Dimitri sighed and agreed. He took my bathrobe off of me, took me in his arms, and we both slept the best in months.
