Chapter 3.
I sat on the sofa watching TV with Emmet and Jasper because Carlisle and Leah had both agreed it would be wiser if I stay here while my foot heals to stop spuriousness raising from anyone who were to stop by at Leah's (Aka my friends) and Jacob was out on patrol. Bella and Edward had come back from where ever they had disappeared, both grinning like Cheshire cats.
"We're calling a family meeting." Edward said proudly.
I stood up and grabbed the crutches that lay next to me and started moving towards the bed room they had set up for me down stairs, it only took them three minutes.
"Hey where are you going?" Alice asked as she past me to sit on Jaspers lap.
"Bedroom."
"Why?"
"Well those two are calling a family meeting so I thought I would give you guys as much privacy I can give with my hearing by going to the room."
"Sit down Eve." Edward chuckled. I was about to argue but Rose pushed me down into the sit next to Emmet as she sat on his lap.
"Thanks." I muttered, once everyone was in the room Edward started talking.
"Bella and I have been thinking and…"
"We want to adopt a child." Bella finished.
"We've thought about it, the child will be home schooled until they are seventeen and by that age is they want to be changed then we will work something out."
"What about the Volti? They won't take kindly to a human knowing about us, even if we home school them." Rose asked.
"They won't have to know until the child is old enough to make their own chooses."
"It is risky Edward." Eleazar said.
"I know." He sighed.
"I think you should have your family vote on it, it will affect them as well." Kate said.
"I vote hells yeah!" Emmet boomed. I chuckled at his happiness.
"I think it would be nice to have a child around the house." Esme smiled, I had learnt that she loves cooking and caring for others.
"I can't see anything bad happen with this decision." Alice nodded.
"Have a child around would defiantly lighten up the mood around it." Jasper agreed.
"I vote yes." Rose nodded. We all looked at Carlisle for his vote.
"I think it's a good idea." He smiled.
"So Eve what do you think?" Edward looked at me.
"You already know what I think Mind reader." I had cut down on how harsh my jokes were but I hadn't quit. He gave the 'they don't' look.
"I think it's a nice idea, helping a kid in an orphanage."
"So when were you planning on adopting?"
"We were thinking tomorrow, we were also wondering Alice and Eve if we're wanted to come?"
"Duhh." Alice laughed.
"Me? Why?"
"We're making a pit stop."
"Yay." I said, I hobbled off to my room extremely tired, once my head hit the pillow I was out like a light until I was woken up but Emmett's booming voice in my ear, my fist connected to a jaw and I heard a snap but no pain.
"Damn it Eve." I heard Embry curse.
"Serves you right." I sat up, Embry was clinging to his jaw and Carlisle walked in calmly and guided him out of the room.
"Damn Mini She-wolf, nice punch." Emmet sat down on the end of the bed laughing.
"Thanks." I sat up all the way and stretched.
"So why is the pack here? Where's Leah?"
"Leah is on patrol but I'm here." Jacob walked in and sat next to me, I wrapped myself into his arms and cuddled him.
"So why are you here?"
"Came to check up on you, how's the ankle?"
"It feels good, I'm not gonna walk on it today but I think it's healed."
"So what up with the Cullens, their moving thing around and Alice, Jasper and Emse keep disappearing." Just then Emmet jumped up and run out of the room.
"I have no idea." I lied grinning because I actually did.
"Alright then, come on then get up."
I grumbled but got up out of bed, Alice came in and kicked Jacob out before helping with my cloths.
"Thanks Alice, but you know I can dress myself you know."
"Yeah but you have horrible taste in clothes, I'm just making sure you have some fashion sense for today, have to make a good first impression."
"Whatever." I sighed grabbing my crutches and hopped into the living room.
"Morning living dead." I slightly waved to the boys of the Cullen family.
"Morning fur ball, Carlisle is at the hospital, Esme is in the kitchen cooking you breakfast and Rose and Bella are hunting and don't ask where the Pixie just disappeared to be have I have no idea." Edward replied to the questions I was thinking.
Mind rapper. I scowled at him before heading to the kitchen and sat down on the island.
"Hey Emse, you don't have to cook for me you know."
"I know but I enjoy cooking and I never get to do it in this family because no actually eats."
"Right." I nodded smiling as she placed a large plate of bacon and eggs in front of me, within five minutes of the plate landing in front of me it was refilled. For thirty minutes I continued to eat.
"How can someone so small, eat so much?" Emmet walked into the kitchen.
"Werewolf healing." I pointed at myself before taking a bit of bacon and biting into it.
Emmet laughed before trying to take a piece just to mess with me, it ended to a broken spoken I had tried to stab in with.
"Why a spoon?"
"It's BULL, you twit, it'll hurt more." I laughed quoting the Sheriff in Robin Hood princes of thieves.
"Hey Uncle Sethy."
"Hey Munchkin." Seth walked in and stole a piece of bacon.
"Edweird and Smella are taking me with them today."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"Be careful, got it?"
"Eh I can take them both, take out one, the other falls." I grinned.
"That is a horrible thing to say." Emse called.
"I was joking! Who would think of that." I laughed.
"You would Eve." Edward walked in.
Hey get out of my head Mr Edweirdo.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Yeah, we going."
I got up and Jacob handed me my crutches, I hobbled to the car and sat in the back with Alice.
"So why am I bring brought along?" I asked.
"Because we're going to get Leah and your old teacher together." Alice jumped up and down in her chair.
"This is a bad idea… let's do it." I grinned.
"Any idea's where he lives?"
"Naa but its Friday so he'll be at school, I say we go to the orphanage first then go to the school."
"Okay."
Thirty minutes later we were pulling up to the Orphanage's gate, it swung open and we drove up the long windy drive way.
"I hate this place, been here a few times with my school, makes me appreciate the fact Leah gave me to Kim and Josh."
"Yeah. Unfortunately I can't see a thing right now."
"Is that because I'm around?" I asked.
"I don't think so." She shook her head, Edward looked puzzled but didn't say anything and Bella was jumping up and down in her seat. Edward parked the car and we piled out before knocking on the door, it took a little while but the door opened and an elderly lady maybe sixty or seventy years old stood there, I recognised her straight away, she did the same and glared at me.
"We don't take runways." She grumbled glaring at me.
"Nice to see you to but I'm not here for me." I pointed at Edward and Bella.
"Oh." She brightened up.
"What can I do for you lovely couple?"
"We're here to adopt a child."
"Oh of course, of course this way please."
The lady stepped aside and let us through, she lead us into the dining room where all the kids were sitting eating breakfast.
"Alright kids be on you best behaviour we have guest." Mrs Gag said, all the kids looked towards us and their faces lit up.
"Eve!" A few of them jump out of their stands, run forwards and tried jumping on me.
"Hey, oh wow you guys have grown, how old are you know?" I said holding onto the ones who had jumped up so non of us would fall due to the fact I was on one foot, they all replied with different answers. Edward had a hand on my back helping me stay up right.
"Hey Eve." I looked around and saw Luke, his 16 like I and has a little sister Maddy who is I think just turned three. They came to the orphanages in 2013 when he was 13 and she was a month old.
"Hey Luke, how are you?" I grinned, I put the four kids who were hanging off me on the ground and hugged him.
"Been good, what happened to you? One of the girls run you over or something."
"Something like that but it wasn't one of the girls."
"Onch, so where have you been? It's been a long time since you've been here."
"Some family things came up and turns out I was adopted so I've moved in with my mum in La Push and changed schools."
"Ah well that sucks, but it's good to see you."
"Same as you, where's Maddy by the way."
"Evie! Evie! Evie!" Someone from behind me called, I turned around and a pair of arms wrapped themselves around my good leg.
"Maddy!" I balanced myself with the help of Luke before picking up the little blonde hugging my leg.
"Evie you back, your back!" She hugged me around the neck.
"Yeah I'm back, came here with my friend." I pointed to Alice, Edward and Bella, who were watching us in amazement.
"Ohh pretty!" Maddy said.
"You do want to meet them?" She nodded shyly.
I slightly hopped back over to them with Luke following with my crutches.
"Maddy, Luke this is Edward, Bella and Alice, guys this is Luke and Maddy."
"Nice to meet you both." Edward nodded shaking hands with Luke and waving at Maddy who was hiding in my shoulder.
"Hey Eve can we talk outside for a sec?" He looked back at me.
"Sure, I'll be right back." Luke took Maddy from my hands before handing me my crutches and I followed the three Cullen's outside.
"What's up? Please tell me we're not leaving." I asked.
"No we're not leaving but what would you say if we adopted Maddy?"
"I would say that you'll have to adopted Luke as well, those two have been through a lot and their a package deal. Trust me last year the orphanage sent Lucas to a boarding school with the money some person gave them, Maddy wouldn't speak to anyone and almost stopped eating but I got her to."
"I think it would be a good idea, adopting the both of them."
Ha! The witch has a heart after all. I laughed internally only to get a glare from Edward before walking off on his phone, from where I stood I could faintly hear him talking about space and making the spare room into a bed room and also some kind of cottage thing? Or something like that. Before long we were signing papers and heading towards the car.
"Um how are we all going to fit?" Luke stopped and stared at the five seater car.
"I'm actually getting another way home, so I'll meet you guys back there." I said.
"I have to make a quick call, Eve come with." I followed her to the edge of the forest, she called Carlisle asking if I was already to shift, he agreed saying that a shift is just what my ankle needed. Alice hung up before busting of the cast for me.
"Look after them and I'll me you back at home." I jogged into the forest backing sure Luke or Maddy weren't looking and shifted, I flecked a little feeling my ankle click back into place. I started a light jog before building up speed.
The trip back to the Cullens had taken less than on the way up, I arrived at the forest of the Cullen's house. I phased back, put my clothes back and walking into the house.
"I'm home! Are the others back yet?" I asked looked at Emmet and Rose sitting on the sofa in the living room.
"Nope you beat them, good to see your ankles alright as well." Emmet grinned.
"Don't you think the two adopted kids are gonna question how you got here before them and were your cast is?" Rose asked.
"Good point." I nodded about to leave but Carlisle stopped me, he took me into his office and run some test on my ankle, by the end of it Edward and the rest of them were back and my ankle had healed. I snuck out of the house through Edwards old room before jogging into the forest and phasing.
I run towards Leah's house hoping that she would be home and awake but if she wasn't think I would probably head to Jacobs. When I arrived at Leahs I saw a familiar black pop top, 1967 Chevy Impala that had a dint in the front of it, I could also hear a faint growling coming from the forest close by.
Oh shit, oh shit, please tell me they didn't just run into a cranky Leah, or just a cranky wolf in general.
I run towards the growling and cursed when I saw the giant dark sliver furred Paul towering over my three best friends.
Crap, this going to painful and not fun.
I run forward and slammed my head into Paul's side pushing him away from them, he hit the ground and then jumps back up baring his teeth at me and jumped at me, his giant paw catching my left shoulder, the pain hurt and I looked at the blood starting to stain my fur before I felt him connect our minds.
What the hell Eve!
What the hell yourself Paul! You just sliced my arm and you're threating my friends.
You need to control you friend.
Their humans, you can't control them, like you can't control me. I growled.
They getting too nosy, deal with them or I will. He tried to over tower me.
You will do no such thing.
Its none of your concern what I do to protect my pack.
It is my concern because involves me and I'm Jacobs imprint, tribe law states that any member of the Packs (we are still apart of the same tribe/pack) cannot harm another's imprint and harming my friend means your emotionally harming me.
Fine just keep the other them away from the packs.
No. I growled, stepped up to him and match his size before over towering him.
Eve. He growled back.
Not now Paul, we've already draw to much attention by standing here in front of them.
Fine. He turn away disconnecting us for each-others mind and running into the forest, a few seconds later a loud howl could be heard.
I looked over to my friend who stood there in shock, once they snapped out of that they looked exited. I turned backwards and run for it heading a cross Leah's driveway back into the forest and heading straight back to the Cullens.\
I phased back, got dressed and run up to the door, blood from the cut Paul had given me covered my shoulder and there was now a lot of pain the cut had almost healed but I think the shoulder was dislocated or something.
