Chapter 5. Eve pov.
I woke up but didn't open my eyes, I felt something soft under me and could hear faint breathing somewhere nearby, I couldn't smell anything sickening sweet meaning that I wasn't near any Vampires. I opened my eyes and saw that I was in my bed room, how the hell did I get here? Last I remember I was at the Cullens house and the girls where there and Luke and Maddy.
I got up and walked into the kitchen making myself a coffee and some breakfast, I had just sat down and taken a bite when there was a knock on the door, I walked over and unlocked it.
"It's open." I said over my shoulder as I went back to my breakfast and continued eating.
"Morning Eve."
"Hey Jake, how did I get home last night?" I asked drinking my coffee.
"Your friends dropped you off and Leah beat your home to put you in bed." Jacob sat down next to me.
"Oh well okay, she's still asleep and I'm gonna leave her there for a while."
"She can't sleep in too late, she has patrol."
"Why? She had it last night, why can't Seth, Embery or Quil take her shift?"
"They're all busy today."
"Then why can't you?"
"I'm on patrol, we have two on at a time, we circle the territory."
"Well then I'll do it, you haven't put me on any of the patrols and if I'm going to be a part of the pack then I need to start doing them."
"You too young, both is age and as a werewolf."
"So what? Your technically 29 and I'm still dating you even though I'm only 16."
"No Eve, now go wake up Leah."
"No."
"Eve." He warned with his Alpha voice.
"Put me on patrol Jacob." I stood up to him, it was difficult because he was using all his dominances as an Alpha.
We sat there glaring at each other before he looked away and groaned.
"Fine!"
"Yay!" I got up, put my dishes in the sink and wrote a note to Leah tell her what was going on, I put the next to the coffee maker, knowing that was the first place she would head when she got up. Jacob and I went out the back door
We phased and he told showed me the routine in his mind before we went in our spared directions to meet in the middle. The run was uneventful despite the odd mountain lion or dear. Jake and I meet in the middle of our paths, we then swooped sides and run in different directions again.
I didn't focused much on what was happening around me until an unfamiliar scent caught my interest.
Hey Jacob, I'm gonna follow this scent, do you know whose it belongs to? All I'm getting in vampire.
It smells simular to Kate or Tanya but it's still different, follow it but be careful.
Got it, I'll report back later if I find anything.
I started following the scent, I kind of lost it when it jumped in to the trees but I continued to follow the path, jumping up slightly to make sure I was heading the right way. I was close to the Cullens in the river bank when I lost the scent fully in the water.
Damn it! I growled stomping my foot on the ground.
What happened? Jake asked.
I lost the scent in the water.
I'll send Embery and Quil to check it out later, right now you head home and get some rest.
Gladly.
I head home, checking for the scent which I didn't find.
Once I was home said hello to Leah before calling the girls asking if they wanted to hang out. Which they agreed.
Thirty minutes later, the five of us (that is including Leah) were sitting in the lounge room watching Harry Potter and quoting almost every scene.
After the movie had finished we ended up having a huge pillow fight because Lexi had tried to tackle me and I hand pushed her in to Jackie who reacted a threw a pillow at Lexi but missed and hit Sarah who threw one back and that is Leah and it just snowballed into this huge pillow fight. I was lucky my arm had healed otherwise I would be in a lot of pain right now because Lexi had me in an arm lock, which wasn't really a bad thing because if I really wanted to I could get out of it.
"Surrender Eve, you know I'll win." Lexi laughed, Jackie and Sarah were trying to pin Leah but it wasn't going so well for them, due to Leah being so fast and tall she easily side stepped their attacks.
"Have you even known me to surrender to anyone Lexi? I didn't even surrender when we were doing the self-defence classes and Faze had me pinned." I laughed pulling her around to face me.
"True but that is him, this is me." She let of my arm and started trying to grab my neck for a headlock.
"Not gonna happen, a lot has change seen the last time we spared."
I think for the next fifteen minutes it was just the five of use trying to pin each other, in the end it was Leah and I who won, once the girls had gone into the kitchen to get snacks I turned to Leah.
"I did my first parole today."
"Oh, Jake didn't tell me you were the one who had let me sleep in, how did it go?"
"It was good, did have a run in with an unfamiliar scent but I lost it in the river near the Cullens, Jake was going to send Embery and Quil to check it out."
"What scent was it?"
"It was defiantly vampire, Jacob said it was similar to Tanya or Kate's but he wasn't sure."
"Do you know how old it was?"
"I didn't even think to check that!" I growled hitting a pillow.
"Don't worry your new to this, normally we have a test run before actually send the newbies on parole."
"What you guys talking about?"
The girls walked back in with food, which I gladly stuffed my face with.
"Nothing just a book I was reading."
"Cool! Okay so the girls and I have a plan."
"For what?"
"For the wolves, we figured that since there is a pack we film them and figure out how many there are in the pack and then make a profile for each wolf, give them names so we can identify them."
I tried getting Leah's attention but she was too busy looking for another movie, she didn't even hear what they are planning!
"Girls Wolves aren't something you want to be messing around with, their wild, dangerous and unpredictable. I man what would have happened if that wolf hadn't stopped the other one?"
"They won't even know were there, they didn't last time when you had disappeared looking for whatever it was u had dropped."
"Yeah sorry about that, it was harder to find then I realised but you still have no idea how dangerous these wolves are." I lied, its going to be difficult to get through to the girls.
"Alright, Vampire Academy or Divergents?" Leah stood up in front of us.
"Vampire academy!" the girls and I said.
Leah put it in and half way through it Leah leant into my and whispered.
"Imagine if the Cullens and the other vampires were like this?" I laughed.
"Your tellin me, I would kill most of them." She laughed.
"What are you two whispering about?" Jackie picked on parts of our convo.
"Just laughing about if we knew people like that."
"Life would sure be more interesting."
"Speak for yourselves." Leah and I say in unison before turning and laughing at each-other.
"Hey guys look!" Lexi said looking out of the living room window, we all head over and looked out, there at the forest line of Leah's front yard stood Paul in his wolf form, I heard Leah growl under her breath before walking out of the room into the kitchen saying that she was getting more drinks, I followed.
"Fuck Paul, god the idiot have no idea what his doing." Leah ranted.
"Do you think Sam knows?"
"If he did Paul wouldn't be standing there right now because he actually has the brains to know that by Paul stalking us it gives your friends more reason follow us around."
"What are we going to do?"
"Ignore it for now, I'll deal with it tomorrow."
The next day, the girls and I had decided to go to the movies again, Jacob still was saying that the patrol I went on was a one-time thing so I had the time to kill. We had arrived in Port Angeles and just gotten out of the movies when I bumped into someone who only came up to chest.
"Woah sorry, I didn't see you there." I said stabilising the person, who's back was still facing me. As they turned I looked at my friend who were all laughing.
"I can see why, you're almost to feet taller than I am." The person laughed.
I looked down at the girl in front of me and everything around me stopped, I couldn't hear anything happening around me and the only thing in my sight was her. When everything had cleared up I knew what had happened.
