I'm running out of intros to make for these chapters lol. I hope you guys are enjoying my writing binge because I've honestly never done this before. Thank God for Stickies on Mac because I'm jotting down ideas that come to me for each story and let me tell you, the ideas I have to incorporate into ANC, OtR, and TfaNL will surprise you at every turn, make you wonder who to trust, and possibly make you rip your hair out. I'm so excited to create them as the chapters go on. While I can tell you I know how A New Change and Time for a New Legend are going to end, I'm still not sure about OtR. Even if you ask, beg, or threaten me /winkwink/ I still won't tell you. I want you guys to be as excited as I was when I figured out the ending. Oh, btw, has anyone tried Pokèmon Go, yet? What do you think? Anyway, here's chapter 16 of Off to Russia! Enjoy! (:

Rose and the crew were on the jet. They'd been on it for what seemed like days, at least to Rose it did. Halfway through the flight, they came up with a game plan.

"Rose has been here before. Rose knows where everything is because as we know, Strigoi don't like change. Rose, take it away." Hans said.

Rose took a deep breath. "The safe is on the second floor. When I was there, no one was guarding it. That's probably the only thing that has changed because I scared a human into helping me. Now that they're using Strigoi blood as steroids, they're going to act like Strigoi, big ego and all. Stake them. Don't hesitate." Rose almost flinched at those words. Those were the same words Dimitri told her when he started training her. "There're guards on every floor, some on more than others depending what's on each floor. I can guarantee you the floor Dimitri, Mia, and Skylar are on is going to be the most guarded and not just with humans. Once you get up there, someone needs to get Mia and Skylar to safety and stay with them. There will be Strigoi on the inside and out. We need to have people outside keeping guard to make sure no Strigoi come in for backup. I don't expect casualties, but if you see a Strigoi feeding on one of ours, he's distracted. Stake him and get the wounded to safety." Rose's phone pinged. It was a text from Lissa. "I got a text from Lissa. They're on the 4th floor, second door to your right. Any questions?" No one spoke. Everyone seemed to be in awe on how Rose could be such a leader. She really was Dimitri's student. He had saved her time and time again and now it's her turn to repay him. Hans left briefly to speak with the captain. He came back out no more than two minutes later.

"We land in 10. Get ready." Hans said gruffly. Rose made sure she had Dimitri's silver stake. Knowing him, he was already trying to figure out a way to get to the safe, but knowing Nathan, he was making it nearly impossible. She was going to make Nathan regret what he did.

DIMITRI

Dimitri was figuring out what the fuck to do. While Mia kept Skylar quiet, Dimitri was coming up with a game plan. Lissa had dream walked to Dimitri letting him know Rose is coming with a rescue team, but she needed to know what floor he was on. Once he said which floor he was on, she quickly ended the dream. Okay. He needed a plan. Actually, what he needed was to get to the safe. Mia had continuously asked for water making up excuses as to why she actually needed it. Soon enough, she felt like she had enough to wrap around a Strigoi's head, but Dimitri needed a stake first. He needed to incapacitate the guard and get outside that door. The guard seemed human, but no doubt had Strigoi blood running through his veins. There was a guard inside the room with him and he had no doubt there were more outside. He took a note from Rose and grabbed a wooden chair. He stomped at the leg to attempt to break it. The guard could see what he was doing and smirked. Obviously, he underestimated Dimitri's strength. The leg soon broke free and Dimitri charged at the human. Even though he only had Strigoi blood running through his veins acting as a drug, Dimitri felt he should be treated as such. He staked him over and over. The poor guy couldn't even fight back. Dimitri fished the set of keys from his pocket and unlocked the door from the inside. He looked back to Mia. "Stay here. If anyone comes in, use your affinity." Mia nodded and Dimitri ran out to face the enemy. He sure hoped Rose would get there soon.

ROSE

Rose was in an SUV with five other guardians. They passed cars, swerved around them, made wide left and right turns. Horns were honking from everywhere. They parked a block away from the building. As expected, Rose's stomach started to hurt. Oh, fuck. Not now, Rose thought. The pain was bearable, but it came at the worst possible time. When they got out of the car, Rose had just noticed how they were all wearing black. She had been so busy raging inside that she hadn't noticed the way the guardians had camouflaged themselves. They approached the building slowly. When Serena, one of Lissa's guardians who had offered to come with, saw a Strigoi, she looked to the group and put one finger up meaning there was only one in sight. Dean, another guardian, crept up and instantly, the Strigoi's senses went up. He turned around to see Dean and they went into hand to hand combat. Dean got punched in the stomach while he kneed the male Strigoi in the nuts. The Strigoi winced and leaned over to cover his genital area. Dean elbowed him in the neck hard and the Strigoi went down. The Strigoi tried to get back up to help save himself, but others had joined Dean. They flipped the Strigoi over and Dean had the pleasure of staking the bastard. In his last breath, the Strigoi had caught everyone off guard. He had said, "thank you," and died. Everyone stared at each other for just a moment, then proceeded to get into the building. They ran quieter than a mouse. Rose led the group and once they were on the second floor, there were two muscular humans with Strigoi blood acting as a drug. Hans went after one while Leo, another guardian, went after the other. The humans fought fiercely, just like a regular Strigoi would, the only thing was that they couldn't waste valuable time. They continued up to the third floor. What Rose saw astonished her. Dimitri was fighting a Strigoi. The other guardians swarmed around him and helped him stake the bastard, even though he didn't need it. Once the Strigoi was staked, Dimitri looked up and saw Rose, who had tears in her eyes. She quickly wiped them as he came to sweep her off her feet and give her a gentle kiss. Hans came up soon after and rolled his eyes.

"Get a room, you two." Hans said and Rose blushed while Dimitri smiled at Rose. Rose handed Dimitri his stake. He nodded towards her as they went up to the fourth floor to rescue Mia.

"Have you seen Nathan yet?" Dimitri asked.

"Not yet. I'm sure we'll get him soon." Rose said confidently. They went to the second door to their right and when they went into the room, they saw Mia using her water affinity to put a water sphere around a Strigoi's head. Rose knew. She just knew who it was. Nathan. Serena came in and grabbed Skyler and ran down the stairs with another guardian covering her. While Mia never let her eyes off of Nathan, once she got out of the room, the water splashed to the floor. Nathan whipped around to see Dimitri and Rose with stakes poised.

"Well, well, well. Look what we have here. Rose Hathaway's alive. She looks even better than last time. Remember me? I'm the one who turned your boyfriend." Nathan said.

"I'm the one who turned him back." Rose put emphasis on the word. Both Dimitri and Rose were circling Nathan. "My question is, how are you alive?"

"You didn't stake my heart. Obviously you weren't heeding your teacher's lessons." Rose scowled. She swore she killed him. It all happened so fast. Nathan made a mad dash for Rose, but Dimitri in full-on god mode, pushed Rose out of the way. Dimitri did a high kick to the face, but it was grabbed by Nathan and he spun Dimitri around so fast, it looked like a tornado. Dimitri flew to the ground, grunted, but was able to get back up. Rose attempted to punch Nathan in the face, but he grabbed it and twisted his arm. Nathan flashed his fangs towards Rose's neck when all hell broke loose. Rose took off the ring Mark had given her and opened her mind to the spirits again. They all came toward her – well not exactly towards her. They were heading for Nathan. Nathan released Rose as the spirits swarmed him. He swatted at them, attempted to punch them, anything just to get them away. While Nathan was distracted, Dimitri took this to his advantage and staked Nathan. He never saw it coming. Rose's head and throbbing, not to mention the stomach pain that had gotten incredibly worse while she was on her way up to save Dimitri. She coughed. Rose couldn't stop coughing until, finally, she vomited. The world was spinning, mostly from her headache. She shakily put the ring back on while attempting to walk over to Dimitri. Once he realized she had thrown up and was walking like she was intoxicated, he rushed over to her and picked her up.

"Rose. Roza, are you okay?" He said while rushing down the stairs.

"Dizzy from spirits and stomach pain from pill." Rose slurred out while holding her head. It hurt more than the last time at Martinsville Airport. When Dimitri got to the cars, he sat in the back seat with Rose's head resting on his lap.

"It's all over, Roza. Sleep." Dimitri whispered. As soon as she closed her eyes, she was out like a light.

The Next Day: When Rose woke up, her ears popped and she gained realization of where she was. She was on the plane back to Pennsylvania and it was apparently landing. She sat up and instantly noticed her headache and stomach pain were gone. Five minutes later, the plane slowed to a stop. The door whooshed open. Dimitri brushed a hair out of her eyes when Rose had realized he had been next to her this whole time. She grabbed his hand as they both walked out with the rest of the guardians and Mia. Mia looked like she could pass out where she was standing. She had Skylar in her arms, asleep. Rose walked over to Mia and took Skylar from her.

"Go get some sleep. You look like you could pass out where you're standing." Rose said. Mia nodded gratefully.

"I can walk her to her quarters if that's okay with you." Dean, the guardian who had staked the first Strigoi on site said. Mia blushed and it was obvious he was the reason she had been able to stay up and keep Skylar calm. Rose mouthed, "go for it!" and Mia nodded to Rose.

"Thanks Dean," Mia said as they started walking to Rose's house.

"They're cute together." Rose commented.

"I agree." Dimitri said. Lissa walked up to both of them and smiled and reached her arms out. Rose handed Lissa Skylar and Lissa started to rock her legs back and forth in a soothing motion so Skylar would stay asleep.

"Have you called Adrian?" Lissa asked quietly as they started walking.

"I haven't had the time. I slept the whole flight back. I'll call him now." Rose said as she reached for her phone. She dialed Adrian's number. It rang twice and he picked up.

"Rose, thank God." Adrian said.

"Adrian, what's wrong?" Rose asked, concerned.

"Sydney's been taken."

"She's been WHAT?!"

I hope you liked the chapter! Sorry I haven't been updating every weekend but my friend was letting me borrow her car and in return I had to take her places she needed to be. That all ends today as she wants her car back. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Who likes cliffhangers here? Certainly not me. I bet you guys don't either. It'll all be worth it, though. I promise you. I wanted OtR to coincide with the Bloodlines series so if you haven't read Bloodlines yet, I sincerely suggest you start because if you haven't, the next couple chapters are going to be major spoilers. You've been warned ;) ~PerfectlyAnnie101
