"She said yes!" Nathan screamed into the phone to his future in-laws, while Haley screamed "We're getting married!" at the same time.
Lydia shrieked happily and Jimmy James hollered. "It's about damn time!"
"I can't believe you knew about it all this time!" Haley said into the speaker phone as she and Nathan were sitting facing each other 'Indian style' on the cabin bed with blissful smiles adjourned on their faces.
Jimmy laughed into the phone, "Nathan was so nervous. He thought we were going to say 'no'" Jimmy recalled.
Jimmy scratched the back of his neck as he opened the door to his house and smiled widely.
"Hey Nate. What's up?" Jimmy asked.
Nathan took a calming breath and gulped nervously. "Hi Mr. James, I uh.. I need to ask you something."
Jimmy furrowed his eyebrows and nodded, "Sure, c'mon in."
Nathan wiped his shoes on the Welcome mat and followed Jimmy into the living room.
"Have a seat." Jimmy ushered Nathan over to the couch and sat across from him in his chair. Nathan took a seat and wiped his sweaty palms on his shorts.
Lydia then walked in from the kitchen and smiled happily, "Nathan! Hi! What a surprise! Is Haley here?"
Nathan looked up and smiled nervously, "Oh um no Mrs. James."
"Mrs. James?" Lydia chuckled, "Okay, what's going on with you? You like you've stolen a cookie from a cookie jar."
"Is Haley Bob okay?" Jimmy asked standing up with a look of worry painted across his face.
Lydia's eyes instantly widened, and Nathans immediately stood up and shook his head.
"Yes, I assure you she's fine. It's just, I need to ask you something..." Nathan said shyly.
Lydia walked over to her husband and wrapped her arm around his waist.
"If you're asking us to break up with her for you, then it's a no. You gotta grow a pair and do it yourself. Although I really hope you're not breaking up because I've never seen her this happy.." Lydia tried to joke with a playful smile.
Nathan laughed nervously, and took a deep breath. He then looked Jimmy straight into the eyes, and inhaled deeply. "I love Haley more than anything. She's the best thing that has ever happened to me, and I want to be with her forever. I want to marry your daughter and I've bought her an engagement ring, and before I propose I want your blessing, and I'll do anything-"
Nathan was cut off when Lydia ran into his arms and kissed his cheek. "Oh Nathan! You didn't have to ask! You know we love you! You're already considered family!"
Nathan took a relieved breath and smiled. "Thank you Mrs. James."
Lydia laughed, "If Haley says 'yes'- which she definitely will- you can call me mom."
Nathan smiled, "I hope she says yes. I don't know what I'd do if she doesn't.."
"Don't even think about that. Haley has been wanting this forever. She loves you more than anything. I can see it in her eyes, and I know you love her too. Take care of our baby girl." Lydia said with tears in her eyes.
"I will." Nathan promised.
Jimmy then shook Nathan's hand strongly, and nodded with a gracious smile. "Of course you have our blessing. I knew the moment I met you- even after you threw up on me- what you and Haley had was special. I'd be honored to call you my son-in-law. Take care of my Haley. She's my little girl, and she deserves the best."
"I promise you Sir, I will spend every day of my life showing her how much I love her and deserve her. She''s the best thing that ever happened to me, and I can't wait to call her mine forever." Nathan said with a giant smile.
"So where are you going to propose? And when?" Lydia questioned with a giddy smile.
Nathan laughed, "I've been planning this for a really long time. On our one year anniversary I'm going to take her to Holden Beach and propose on the lake. It's where we had out first date when we were eighteen."
"That's so romantic! Haley's going to love it! Oh I'm so excited!" Lydia gushed, causing Jimmy and Nathan to chuckle.
"Please don't tell her. I want it to be a surprise!" Nathan said breathlessly.
"We promise." Jimmy said. "Congratulations."
"Thank you so much." Nathan said appreciatively.
"Thank you for asking. You're a real gentleman Nathan. You and Haley are truly perfect for each other. Thank you for loving her." Lydia gushed.
"Thank you for everything, seriously. You're daughter means everything to me."
Jimmy chuckled, "We know."
Haley laughed and leaned across the phone to press a long kiss on Nathan's lips. Nathan pulled away reluctantly, knowing her parents were still on the phone- and mouthed 'I love you'.
"Ohh! I'm so excited!" Lydia clapped.
"Don't tell anyone Mom! I want it to be a surprise." Haley shouted.
Nathan then bit his lip, and Haley furrowed her eyebrows. "Who else knows?" She asked.
He sighed, "Well I told Lucas, but I told him not to tell Brooke, or anyone else. And I told my Mom and Dad. My mom was crying tears of happiness but She doesn't know you said yes yet, so I was thinking when we go home we can go to my parents house and tell them. We also have to tell my grandparents. I know they're going to be ecstatic. " Nathan said as he thought back to when he told his parents his plan.
Nathan sat at his parent's dining room table shoveling food into his mouth as Deb looked at her son and laughed.
"Slow down! You're eating like an animal!" Deb joked.
"Sorry Ma, I'm hungry." Nathan shrugged.
"I thought you just really liked my cooking." Deb laughed.
"I mean it's gotten better, but nothing compares to Haley's cooking. She's amazing." Nathan said with a sparkle in his eyes.
Deb smiled, loving how Nathan found such an amazing woman.
"Where is she tonight anyway?" Dan asked as he took a long sip of his wine.
"She's at Peyton's baby shower. Is it bad that I really miss her?" Nathan pouted as he played with the food on his plate.
"You've got it bad son." Dan chuckled.
"I think it's sweet. You really love her, huh?" Deb asked with a sweet smile.
Nathan smiled widely. "More than anything. She's the one for me Mom."
"I'm so happy for you Nathan."
"Me too, Nate. I still feel bad for being an ass to Haley when I met her. I was so wrong about her. She's really great. I still can't believe you were able to get her. You know she's so outta your league right?" Dan laughed.
Nathan rolled his eyes, "I know. I don't know what I did to deserve her but I'm the luckiest guy in the world." He said with a grin. "And Haley is amazing. She's forgiven you for your judgement."
"That's how I know she's the one for you. If she can stick up to me, you better hold on to her." Dan smirked.
"Just like I held on to your Dad. God only knows why." Deb joked.
"Because you love me." Dan smiled.
"I do." Deb grinned.
"I love you too." Dan stated sweetly.
"Ugh! Get a room!" Nathan said gagging on his food.
"What it's okay for you to cry about missing Haley but I can't tell your mom I love her?" Dan joked.
"I'm not crying!" Nathan shot back.
"Sweetie, you haven't seen her in three hours ago and you're practically in a depression now." Deb laughed.
"I'm sorry, I can't help it. I just really love her." Nathan said with a dopey smile.
"You've been together for a year now, right?" Dan asked.
Nathan nodded, his smile growing larger. "It'll be a year in two days."
"Are you doing anything special?" Deb asked before taking a sip of her water.
"I'm' going to propose." Nathan said with a boisterous smile.
Deb started to choke on her water, and Dan shot up patting her on her back.
"Mom are you okay!?" Nathan shouted.
Deb took a deep breath, and once she stopped choking she looked at her son, "Did I just hear you correctly?"
Nathan gulped nervously. He didn't know how his parents would react.
Nathan nodded, "I'm going to ask Haley to be my wife."
Deb's hands flew to her mouth and gasped happily. "My baby boy's getting married!" She cried, and stood up to run over to Nathan and hug him tightly.
"Mom!" Nathan whined. "Stop it!"
"It's about damn time, Nate!" Dan chuckled, "Congratulations son. I'm proud of you. I know how happy Haley makes you, I can see you two are in it for the long run." He smiled and patted his son on the back.
Deb wiped the tears in her eyes and kissed her son on the cheek. "Oh Nathan! I can't believe it!"
"Relax! She didn't even say yes yet." Nathan stated.
"I know but I'm just so happy for you." Deb shrieked.
"Thanks mom." Nathan breathed happily.
Haley smiled, "Okay! I can't wait."
"Neither can I." Nathan whispered huskily and climbed on top of Haley as he attached his lips onto her neck, and she shrieked in surprise.
"Nathan!" She moaned.
"Hellloo. We're still here you know!" Lydia shouted jovially.
"Sorry Mom, I'll talk to you later, Nathan I are going to celebrate." Haley said loudly and the couple rolled off the bed continuing their ministrations.
The next day, Nathan and Haley woke up in tangled sheets and made love twice before getting ready for the day and getting breakfast at a nearby diner. They decided they would stay at Holden Beach for one more day to celebrate the engagement in privacy before going home and telling their friends and family. After breakfast, they decided to walk hand in hand around the facility and reminisce on the memories they made when they were eighteen. The couple then decided to lounge by the pool for a while and enjoy the ninety degree weather.
Haley changed into her green bikini and as she walked out of the changing room, Nathan was standing by the edge of the pool, but stumbled in when he noticed his fiance.
Haley ran over to him and crouched down as he swam to the top of the water and took a deep breath.
"Baby! Are you okay?" Haley exclaimed nervously.
Nathan's cheeks flushed as he noticed everyone starring and laughed nervously. "I think I've been spending too much time with you. I'm becoming a klutz." He joked as he climbed out of the water and wrapped a towel around himself, in hopes of drying off and covering his obvious erection.
"Well get used to it babe. We're getting married!" Haley said giddily.
Nathan grinned widely and pulled Haley into his arms. "I'd marry you right now if I could." He purred into her ear.
Haley giggled and placed a sweet kiss on his lips. "Me too."
"I want to have the perfect wedding. Just for you Hales. You deserve your dream wedding." Nathan said softly.
"I don't need a dream wedding. I'm already marrying my dream guy." Haley whispered against his soft lips.
Nathan smiled widely and wrapped his arms around her waist. "God, I love you."
"I love you too." She said as she lightly scratched her nails against his abs.
"I feel like we're on our honeymoon." Nathan joked, as he took a seat on a pool chair, and Haley straddled his lap.
"Where should we go on our honeymoon, Mr. Scott?" She flirted.
"Anywhere you wanna go." Nathan said as he traced her '23' tattoo right above her bathing suit bottom.
"I'll go anywhere with you." Haley said seductively.
Nathan smirked, "I can't wait."
"I know, you told me like a thousand times." Haley laughed.
"I'm sorry, I just, I've been waiting for a really long time." Nathan said. "I want to get married soon."
Haley smiled and placed a quick kiss on his jaw. "Me too."
"I also want to have a perfect wedding, considering we're getting married once." Nathan pointed out. "I want it to be a day we'll never forget."
"I want to plan everything together." Haley said as she looked into his deep blue eyes.
"Okay." Nathan smiled widely.
"Except the wedding dress. You're not allowed to see." Haley laughed.
Nathan took a deep breath, "Wow I just got the image of you in a wedding dress, and it took my breath away." Nathan said breathlessly.
Haley blushed softly, "I'm sure Brooke is going to be really excited. I think she even started planning our wedding a while ago."
Nathan chuckled, "Yep. That sounds like Brooke."
"So what about you. What's your dream wedding?" Haley whispered as she pushed Nathan on his back, and she sprawled out on his wet stomach.
Nathan's eyes widened. Haley was never one for PDA and she was practically on top of him- right by the main pool area. Not many people were there but still, anyone could see.
"People were staring anyway. I figure we better give them a show. Plus, some eighteen year old slut was checking you out, and I want her to know you're all mine." Haley whispered seductively into his ear.
Nathan closed his eyes and took a deep breath. "Damn Hales. You're so sexy when you're feisty and all territorial." He smirked.
Haley giggled and kissed him longingly. "Seriously babe, considering you've had the perfect engagement planned for like six years, what have you thought about our wedding?" Haley asked with a sparkle in her eyes.
"Well," Nathan began as he ran his hands up her arms, "I was thinking we can have a beach wedding, maybe even here at Holden Beach... and then the reception at that really fancy place on the beach a couple of miles from here. What do you say Haley James?"
"That sounds perfect." She whispered happily.
"I think we should have those purple flowers all around too." Nathan suggested.
Haley's heart warmed. She loved how Nathan was really concerned about having a perfect wedding. "I love that idea."
"And we can have mac n cheese as an entree." Nathan chuckled.
"I knew I loved you!" Haley giggled.
"Mhmm you better." Nathan said as he captured her lips in a searing kiss.,
"Yuck! Get a room!" Some bratty twelve year old boy said in disgust as he walked by Nathan and Haley who were engaged in a heated make out.
Haley shot up and blushed profusely., while Nathan gave the boy a dirty look.
"I'm gonna go get a drink." Haley announced. "You want anything babe?"
It took a couple of seconds for the words to register with Nathan's brain because he was in a trance starring at his beautiful fiance.
"Uh.. no thanks." His voice cracked, "I'm gonna um go in the pool."
Haley giggled, "Okay, I'll be back in a few. I love you."
"Love you too." Nathan winked,
Haley then strutted over to the bar and ordered herself a Strawberry Daiquiri and patiently waited for it to be made. Meanwhile, Nathan jumped into the thankfully cold water, and swam over to a group of teenage boys talking about his fiance.
"Did you see that chick in the green bikini? She was so freakin' hot!" A blonde headed kid said to one of his friends.
"I know, she even had a tramp stamp and did you see her ass?"
The blonde headed kid smirked, "Yeah dude, how much would you pay me if I went up to her a slapped it?"
"Do it man! I'll give you ten bucks!" His friend encouraged.
Nathan could feel his temper flaring and if they weren't teenagers he would have drowned them by now. He swam over to the boys and cleared his throat.
"Holy shit! It's Nathan Scott!" The blonde haired kid screamed. "Dude! You're a professional basketball player!"
Normally Nathan would have smirked, but he was beyond pissed off at this little punk who was talking about his fiance like she was a piece of meat.
"Yeah I'm Nathan Scott, and I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't talk about my fiance like that." He said firmly as he crossed his arms over his chest.
The blonde haired boy's eyes widened and he gulped nervously. "I'm sor- sorry." He stuttered. "I didn't know."
"If I catch you looking at her one more time you'll be sorry." Nathan warned and then got out of the pool to walk over to Haley. He noticed many guys were also starring at her, and she had no idea.
"Can I buy you a drink cutie?" Haley heard a man say, and she turned around with a frown.
"No thanks." She said firmly to the man with black curly hair.
"Aw why not?" He pressed- obviously drunk.
Haley held up her left hand and flashed her diamond engagement ring. "Because my fiance won't be too happy about that he's coming right now." Haley said with a grin.
Nathan tapped the guy on the shoulder and glared at him. "You can leave now." He said gruffly.
The man rambled something incoherent and stumbled away leaving Haley with a look of surprise, and Nathan looked like he was ready to punch someone.
"Oh my gosh! Your ring is beautiful!" Haley heard a brunette woman say next to her.
Haley turned to her and smiled, "Thank you. My boyfriend proposed yesterday actually."
"That's so romantic!" She gushed.
"I got it custom made just for her." Nathan bragged.
"Congratulations!" The lady complimented.
Haley smiled, and took Nathan's hand in her, "Thank you."
"Thanks." Nathan nodded with a happy smile. He loved how the ring was a way to symbolize his love for her- it was also a total aphrodisiac.
Haley finally got her beverage and took a long sip. "Ahh! Delicious!" She smiled causing Nathan to laugh.
"You're adorable." He smiled.
"Thanks. She smiled back and placed her arm on his bicep. "What's wrong? Why are you so tense?" She asked worriedly.
"Nothing." Nathan dismissed.
Haley gave him a pointed look, "Nathan." She said sternly.
Nathan sighed, "I heard some boys talking about you."
"What did they say?" Haley asked as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"It's not what they said, it's how they said it. They were talking about you like you were a piece of meat!" Nathan said angrily.
"Possessive much?" Haley joked.
Nathan sighed, "No, I just- okay maybe a little. I just love you and want to protect you and I don't like when men think about you like that. Only I can do that."
"Think what?" Haley asked as she quirked her eyebrow.
Nathan shrugged, and whispered in her ear, "That you have an amazing ass."
Haley blushed, "Nathan!" She scolded.
"What?" He chuck;ed, "It's true."
"Well you're the only one who can touch it." Haley whispered seductively.
Nathan let out a groan, "God baby you're killing me."
"C'mon, let's go back to the room." Haley winked, and pulled Nathan by his hand back to their cabin.
"Are you ready?" Nathan asked as he and Haley walked up the driveway to his parents house. They drove back from Holden Beach this morning after spending the entire day celebrating their engagement yesterday.
Haley nodded, "Yeah, I'm excited to tell everyone."
"My mom is going to go crazy." Nathan laughed, and rang the door bell. He took Haley's hand in his and placed a sweet kiss on her cheek.
"I love you." Haley said simply, and Nathan grinned.
"Love you too."
Just then, the door swung open, and Deb stood on the other side with a surprised smile.
"Nathan! Haley! What a surprise! Come on in!" Deb said sweetly.
Nathan glanced at Haley as they walked into the house, and they followed Deb into the dining room where Royal, Mae, and Dan Scott were sitting around the dining room.
"We aren't interrupting anything are we?" Nathan asked as he noticed everyone sitting around eating lunch.
"Oh no dear, why don't you join us?" Mae asked with a hopeful smile.
Nathan squeezed Haley's side, and looked down at her. "Actually we have something to tell you." He said with a nervous smile.
"She's not pregnant is she, because if she is you better propo-" Royal said gruffly.
Nathan playfully rolled his eyes, "No Haley's not pregnant."
Haley then smiled widely, and the butterflies in her stomach danced with excitement, "Although Nathan did propose." She announced unable to contain her happiness, and held up her left hand to show everyone the diamond engagement ring.
Deb was the first to run over to the couple and envelope them in a giant hug. She pulled away with tears rolling down her cheeks. "Oh my god! I am so happy for you guys! Congratulations!"
Haley smiled sweetly, "Thank you ."
"Haley, you know it's Deb! We're going to be family now. I am so happy! I couldn't ask for a better daughter-in-law." Deb announced.
Haley hugged Deb again and smiled widely. "Thank you!"
"Oh no- thank you! I never thought I'd see the day Nathan would be getting married. You are perfect for Nathan and I can not be happier right now."
"Let me see the ring!" Mae said as she ran over to the couple. Haley then held up her ring and Mae shrieked.
"Holy Crap! That's beautiful. My grandson has exquisite taste!" Mae exclaimed.
Deb continued to cry as she looked at the ring. The band was her mothers and she knew that she gave it to Nathan to hopefully give it to his future wife.
"Oh Haley it looks perfect on you! I know my mother would approve!" Deb cried.
Haley looked up at Nathan and kissed him softly. She was so excited to become a Scott.
"Oh Nathan! Congratulations! Haley is going to make a lovely bride! I am so happy for you guys!" Mae said with her own tears streaming down her face.
"Thanks Grandma." Nathan smiled and hugged her tightly.
"Haley's going to be a Scott!" Mae cheered happily. "I'm so happy you're going to be a part of the family. It's a true blessing." She said as she gave Haley a big hug.
"It's a real honor." Haley smiled. "I can't wait to become Mrs. Haley Scott."
"Oh I can't wait for you to give us great grand babies! I want a granddaughter and she better look like Haley." Mae joked.
"OOh nonsense Mae, Nathan's a Scott, and Scott's only have boys." Royal chuckled.
Deb chuckled and looked at Haley, "It comes with the name I guess."
Haley shrugged, "I'll be happy as long as we have healthy babies."
"Babies? As in more than one?" Mae asked with a wide smile. "My dreams are coming true!"
Nathan groaned, "Grandma, we just got engaged. We aren't having a baby yet."
"But you will one day right?" Mae asked.
"Five." Nathan smirked.
"Five boys. Good luck Hales. You better run while you can!" Royal joked.
"Five!? When did you decided this?" Mae laughed.
"A while ago." Nathan laughed, "We're bound to have a girl in there somewhere."
Haley blushed, and finally showed Dan and Royal her ring and they gave both Nathan and Haley a giant hug congratulating them, as they all shared how happy they were that Haley would become the newest Scott.
"Alright guys, Hales and I better head out. We have a lot of people to share our news with. We'll talk to you later." Nathan announced, and they all said their goodbyes and he and Haley headed to Tric where Quinn, Clay, Brooke, Lucas, Karen, Keith, Lydia, Jimmy, Peyton, and Jake were there
"Can you tell us why we're all here now?" Clay asked as the group all gathered around a table in Tric.
"Not until Nathan and Haley get here." Brooke said as she searched the crowd for the couple.
As if on que, Nathan and Haley walked through the doors hand in hand and waved to their friends.
"Finally!" Lucas laughed. "Where were you guys?"
"Oh we had to visit my parents." Nathan said dismissively.
"So what's so urgent that we had to meet you here?" Haley asked.
"Well actually your mom told us to come here, but Lucas and I have something to tell you guys." Brooke announced.
"What is it?" Peyton pressed.
"We're pregnant!" Brooke screamed happily, and Lucas wrapped his arms around his wive's stomach.
"Congratulations!"
"OH MY GOD!"
"I'm so happy for you guys!"
"Congrats guys!"
"That's great!"
"Oh my god! Congratulations!' Haley shouted and ran to hug her two best friends.
As Haley wrapped her arms around Lucas, the sparkling ring on her left finger didn't go unnoticed by her sister Quinn.
"Holy Shit Hales! What's that on your finger?"
Everyone's attention turned to Haley and she blushed, "Oh well um I don't want to take away from Brooke and Lucas's excitement but um Nathan proposed." She said with a giant smile.
People were obviously torn between congratulating Brooke and Lucas or Nathan and Haley, so they all gathered into a circle and shared a group hug, congratulating both couples.
"This is so exciting!" Karen announced. "I'm so happy for all of you. This is big news all around! Congratulations."
"Let me see the ring!" Brooke hollered, suddenly forgetting about her own excitement.
Nathan chuckled and shared a hug with his cousin. "Congrats man, you're going to be an amazing dad."
Lucas grinned, "Thanks. I'm so happy you finally got your head out of your ass and popped the question. We've been waiting for this since we were eighteen."
Nathan smiled widely, "I know, it feels good. I've never been happier." He gushed as he looked at Haley and his heart swelled. They shared a look filled with passion and a wave of calmness waved over Nathan.
Brooke pulled Haley in for a hug and started to jump up and down, "Oh my god! Did you start planning the wedding yet? When's it gonna be? Oh my! It better be within nine months. I can't look like a beached whale!"
Haley laughed, "It'll probably be at the end of the summer. Nathan and I decided we didn't want to wait long, but we don't want to rush either. We want everything to be perfect and planned out thoroughly."
"Well your lucky your best friend loves wedding planning!" Brooke cheered.
"Wow Hales! The ring is gorgeous! Did Nathan pick it out himself?" Lydia asked.
Haley nodded with a cheeky grin. "He got it custom made.
"That must've been so expensive!" Lydia gasped.
"Mommy!" Haley exclaimed,
Nathan suddenly came up from behind Haley and wrapped his arms around her. "Good thing I'm in the NBA." Nathan smirked.
"Oh let me take a picture! You guys are adorable!" Lydia exclaimed with a smile, as she flashed a couple of candid shots.
Nathan leaned down and placed a long kiss on Haley's lips. "I love you." He smiled.
"I love you too Nathan Scott." Haley said with her eyes closed.
Clay then tapped Nathan on the shoulder and pulled him in for a tight hug. "Congratulations man. I'm so happy for you guys. You deserve the best."
"Thanks Clay." Nathan grinned.
Haley hugged Clay and then ran to her sister who let out a scream at the ring.
"Shit Haley! That ring is beautiful!" Quinn smiled.
"I know." Haley said dreamily.
"How did he propose?" Peyton asked, as everyone gathered to marvel at the diamond.
"It was so romantic." Haley gushed. "He proposed at Holden Beach on the lake in a row boat where we had our first kiss."
"That's precious!" Brooke shrieked. "Ugh! I wish I was there! You guys are so adorable."
Haley beamed, "It was perfect. He even got down on one knee and cried!"
Quinn placed her hands over her heart and smiled. "Aww! Stop! This is too cute!"
"I'm so happy for you Haley bop!" Lydia exclaimed, as the men all bombarded Nathan- as well as Lucas- with giant hugs, and pats on the back.
"Thanks mom." Haley grinned, and when she caught Nathan's gaze, she blew him a kiss, and he winked causing her heart to flutter.
August 23
Today is the day I have been waiting for all my life. Technically, only two months, but over all every little girl has dreamed of their wedding day- and mine is finally here. I have never been this excited in my life for anything. Today is the day I will become Mrs. Haley Scott. Just thinking about it gives me butterflies. I haven't seen Nathan is 24 hours and it's driving me insane. I know it's like the 'wedding rules' but I just miss him like crazy. I can't wait to see his smile when he sees me walk down the aisle. Right now I'm in a cabin at Holden beach getting ready for my trek down the beach and closer to reaching my future.
There is a special section on the beach reserved for weddings, and there's a gazebo- where Nathan will wait for me- and a long path leading to the gazebo, and next to it the waves are crashing on the sand. We have about 100 loved ones coming to watch us become husband and wife. Thankfully it is a beautiful day, and it's about 4:00, and the sun is glowing high in the sky. It's a true picturesque scene.
Anyway, I'm about ready to get on the horse and carriage Nathan set up for me, which will take me closer to the beach. After the ceremony, we are going to take some pictures, and then go to the reception which is beautiful beach club a few miles down the road. Cocktail hour will be outside on the docks and beach area, and then everyone will head inside for the party.
I have to say I am very impressed with Nathan. He helped me plan every single aspect (except my wedding dress) just like he said he would. He really had a genuine interest in planning and did not complain once. We decided to not wait and we wanted to get married at the end of the summer (today!) and we both wanted a beach wedding. The colors are purple, white, and black, because purple reminded us of those little purple flowers I am in love with- which Nathan decided to scatter everywhere! We agreed on basically everything and I had such a fun time planning- despite the two month pressure- but Luckily Brooke helped us out, but in the long run Nathan and I planned everything and it truly is OUR dream wedding. We got everything we ever wanted and I couldn't be happier. If I had to though, I would have married Nathan in a garbage truck because that's how much I love him. He's my everything. He makes me feel like the happiest girl in the world. He treats me like a Princess and he loves me endlessly. I can not wait to spend the rest of my life with him. I'm not even nervous. Every wedding I've been too the bride is always nervous- but I'm not. I'm not nervous because this is what I have been wanting forever. I knew Nathan was the one for me, and now we get to make it official.
Finally, the best part is that Nathan and I are going to Europe on our honeymoon. We will go to London, Paris, and Rome. I'm beyond excited- but the best part is that I get to spend it with my HUSBAND. I can't wait to explore the city of love- even though Nathan said he doesn't want to leave the room...
"Come on Princess, it's time to go!" Brooke announced, as Haley looked up from her journal, and took a deep breath to calm her excitement.
"Finally!" Haley clapped.
"You ready almost Haley Scott?" Quinn smiled.
Haley smiled boisterously. "Yes! I've never been more ready in my life."
Brooke laughed, "Hey remember last year I told you you'd be the next Mrs. Scott?"
Haley playfully rolled her eyes, "Yes."
"Yeah, well I TOLD YOU SO!" Brooke screamed happily.
Haley laughed, "You were right, and I'm glad you were."
"I'm so happy for you Hales. You and Nathan are perfect for each other, and I'm so happy you guys are finally getting married. You are soul mates, and I'm so happy I got you together. I take all the credit." Brooke said trying not to cry.
Haley wiped the tears threatening to fall from her eyes. "I know, I never thought his day would come but I am so happy it did. Thank you Brooke." Haley whispered as she hugged her best friend.
"You look beautiful Haley!" Lydia said as she rushed through the door, followed by Deb and Mae.
"Oh my god! Nathan isn't going to know what hits him! You're flawless!" Deb said as she started to cry.
"You're like the daughter I always wanted!"
Haley laughed and rushed over to her future mother in law. "Thank you Deb."
"Come here and give me a hug!" Mae cried. "You are so gorgeous!"
"Thanks. Brooke made my dress." Haley said as she tried not to cry.
Haley then turned to her Mom and hugged her tightly. "My baby girl is getting married!" Lydia cried.
"I know I can't believe it." Haley chuckled.
"You are so beautiful." Lydia marveled. "I am so happy for you. I see how happy Nathan makes you and I can tell how much that boy loves you. You deserves
"C'mon Hales. Prince Charming is waiting for you!" Brooke announced, and Haley followed her family and friends to the door, but quickly looked at herself in the mirror.
She was wearing a long lacey white dress with a sweet heart neckline, and a small tiara with a veil. Her light brown hair was curled neatly down her back, and her make up was simple yet elegant and enhanced her glowing face.
She took a deep breath and met her father outside who was standing by the horse and carriage.
"Wow Haley Bop. You look stunning. Nathan is a lucky guy. He better take care of you." Jimmy James smiled with tears in his eyes.
Haley bit her lip and hugged her father. "I love you Daddy."
"I love you too Princess, and you'll always be my little girl." Jimmy said as he helped his daughter onto the carriage.
"Thank you for being the best father a girl can ask for." Haley whispered as she kissed her father on the cheek, and anxiously waited to get to the wedding ceremony.
"Calm down man, Haley's coming." Lucas chuckled.
"I can't wait any more." Nathan said impatiently.
"You're going to be with Hales for the rest of your life, just wait two more minutes." Lucas smile. "I promise it's worth it."
Just then, Dan and Keith came up to where Nathan was standing under the gazebo at the end of the path where Haley will walk down, and they pulled him in for a hug.
"I'm so proud of you son." Dan said with tears in his eyes.
Nathan took a deep breath and smiled, "Thanks Dad."
"Haley's an amazing girl. Take care of her."
"I will." Nathan promised, and watched as his Dad walked back to his seat.
"Congrats Nathan." Keith said hugging his nephew.
Royal then walked up to his grandson and hugged him longingly. "Today is the day you will remember for the rest of your life. Today is the day you come a true man. I love you son, take care of Haley. She's a real gem.' Royal whispered.
Nathan smiled and nodded politely. "Thank grandpa. I love you too."
Royal patted him on the back and walked back to his seat as he heard the music start to play.
"Take a deep breath, man. This is it. This is the day you've been waiting for." Lucas whispered into Nathan's ear.
Deb was the first to walk out carrying a boquet of flowers and she was escorted by her brother Cooper. Once she made it to the end of the aisle, she hugged Nathan tightly and whispered, "Wait till you see her."
Nathan smiled and kissed his mom on the cheek. "I love you Mom."
"I love you too baby boy. I'm so happy for you."
"Thanks." Nathan said with a beaming smile.
Next came Brooke and Peyton who were wearing light purple gowns and they both winked at Nathan.
Clay and Quinn were next and they hugged Nathan who was about to pee himself with excitement.
Suddenly, the song changed and everyone stood up as Nathan took a deep breath and bit his lip.
Jimmy stepped off the horse and carriage and helped Haley down, careful not to get her dress in the sand, and he escorted her down the stone path.
Nathan looked up and instantly tears sprung to his eyes. His heart was pounding in his chest, and his stomach filled with giant butterflies that were frantically dancing around.
His eyes widened at the sight of his beautiful bride and he felt like the air had been knocked out of his lungs.
He couldn't even describe how he felt. It was beyond elated. It was like floating on cloud nine.
Haley. His Haley was beyond beautiful.
Haley looked into those piercing blue eyes and she felt herself go weak in the knees. Luckily she was holding onto her father- to prevent her from falling. A small tear of happiness fell from her eye when she noticed Nathan shed a small tear. This was everything she dreamed about and more. Nathan had the biggest smile on his face, as did she. Her cheeks were starting to hurt. Nathan looked at her so tenderly and lovingly and she felt herself fall in love with him again.
Finally she made it to the end of the aisle and Jimmy placed a long kiss on her forehead. Nathan immediately rushed down the steps of the gazebo to take Haley's hand. He had to touch her.
He pulled Jimmy in for a hug, and wiped a tear from his eye.
"Thank you Jimmy." Nathan said politely.
Jimmy smiled and patted Nathan on the back. "Take care of my baby girl. I love you kid."
Nathan felt his heart warm, "I love you too."
Haley felt another tear fall from her eye and she hugged her Dad. 'I love you Daddy."
"Love you too Bop."
Nathan grabbed Haley's hand and kissed her lovingly. He knew he probably shouldn't have but he didn't care he had to kiss her.
"God I love you so much. You are so beautiful, Haley James." Nathan whispered.
Haley took a deep calming breath, 'I love you too Nathan Scott."
Nathan guided Haley up the gazebo and squeezed her hand gently as he looked into her eyes and never looked away once. They were in their own little world, oblivious to everyone and everything.
They listened to the minister speak, and finally they got to say their vows.
"We are gathered here today to witness the love that Nathan and Haley have for each other. Today Nathan and Haley have decided to state their own vows. Haley." The minister announced.
Haley smiled and took a deep breath as she gently squeezed Nathan's hand affectionately.
"I Haley, take you Nathan. To have and to hold, from this day forward. In sickness and in health. For richer or poorer. For better or worse. I promise, that I will love and cherish you. And will deny all those that would come between us. I make this promise for eternity. I promise that I will keep forever… Until the end of time. Till death do us part. Nathan, I met you at Holden Beach six years ago, and that day was one of the best days of my life. You changed my life forever. I fell in love with you when I was eighteen and over the years my love for you has only grown. I know it will continue to grow as we spend the rest of our lives together. I can't wait to show you how much I love you. I can't wait to be yours always and forever. I promise you I will always love you, and I will always be here for you- through the good and bad. You are the best thing that ever happened to me. I love you so much. This I vow today. " Haley said sweetly as she slid the silver band onto Nathan's left ring finger.
Nathan smiled widely and took a deep breath. "Haley. I can't even explain how much I love you. You are the light of my life. My soul mate, my everything. I can't even explain the way I feel about you. You showed me what true love is, because I never believed in it, but now I love you and I would do anything for you. You're my family. Always and forever. I never want to know what it is to live without you. I'm addicted to you Hales. I never want to let go of you. I need you. I want the world to know how much I am in love with you. And Someday, this beach might wash away…the oceans may dry…the sun could dim but on that day, I'll still be loving you. Always and forever. I promise you Haley." He smiled and watched as another tear fell from her gorgeous brown eyes,
"Now by the power invested in me by the state of north Carolina, I now pronounce you husband and wife. Nathan you can kiss your beautiful br-" Before the minister could finish, Nathan swooped down and captured Haley's lips in an earth shattering kiss.
Haley wrapped her arms around his neck and he leaned her down gently as he wrapped his arms around her waist, and kissed her senselessly causing their friends and family to cheer loudly, and a few of them even cat called.
In need of desperate air, Nathan reluctantly pulled away and stared Haley in the eyes.
"I love you so much Haley James Scott." Nathan whispered.
Haley smiled widely, her heart bursting with joy at her new name. "I love you too, husband."
Nathan smirked, "Say that again."
"Husband." Haley whispered.
Nathan leaned down again and kissed her sweetly. "We're married."
"Finally." Haley giggled.
The rest of the night Nathan and Haley shared their special day with their friends and family and danced all night.
Nathan even kept his promise and shared a dance with Haley- to 'More than Anyone' just like he said when they were eighteen- they would dance to that song at their wedding.
