This is the end. I really can't believe it. We made it.
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
I hope y'all enjoyed reading this as much as I have enjoyed writing.
I love you all!
"Mom! I'm hungry!"
"I have to pee!"
"How much longer?"
"Are we there yet?"
Haley Scott let out a small laugh as she glanced at her husband of nine years whose jaw was clenched tightly, and his hands gripped the steering wheel so strongly that his knuckles were turning white. Haley slowly reached across the car console and gently squeezed his knee, and Nathan's grip on the wheel loosened as he immediately felt himself calm down. It amazed him that after nine years of marriage, a simple touch from his wife was all he needed to feel better.
"You still want that fifth kid?" Haley asked with a sly grin.
Nathan chuckled lightly, but before he could answer, he heard a small voice that caused his grin to turn into a wide smile.
"I want a baby sister!" Three year old, Lydia Scott screamed from her car seat.
"I want a baby brother!"Five year old Jordan Scott- who Haley liked to call Nathan's clone- exclaimed.
"No more babies!" Jordan's twin brother, Nicholas screamed loudly.
"Wait you're pregnant again, Mom?" Seven year old Jamie asked.
Nathan laughed loudly, causing Haley to playfully roll her eyes, and blush slightly.
"Baby! Baby!" Lydia chanted with a giggle.
"You're a stupid baby!" Jordan said in a patronizing tone.
"I am not!" Lydia huffed as she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Are too." Jordan smirked the infamous 'Scott' smirk.
"Jordan, stop that right now." Nathan said firmly as he looked in his rear view mirror and noticed his son pouting slightly. "And Lydia, you are my baby girl." He cooed.
"Yeah but if mom has another baby, then you'll be a big sister!" Jamie said matter of factly.
"But I want to be daddy's only baby." Lydia whined.
Nathan chuckled, "You're all my babies."
"Except me. I'm a big boy. right Dad?" Jamie asked with a grin.
"Right." Nathan smiled proudly at his eldest son.
"Can I have a baby, Daddy?" Lydia asked with a sparkle shining in her round brown eyes that mirrored her mother's.
"No princess. Mommies and Daddies need to be married in order to have a baby."
"Will you marry me Daddy?" Lydia asked innocently.
Haley giggled from the passenger seat as she reached across the console and interlocked her fingers with Nathans, causing a smile to stretch across his face. Haley then craned her neck in order to look at her three year old daughter.
"No Lyd, you can't marry Daddy because I married him first. He's mine. Find your own husband." Haley joked with a slight chuckle as she pulled Nathan's fist up to her lips and pressed a soft kiss on it.
"You can't marry Dad." Jamie said strongly. "You have to marry someone your own age who isn't related to you. Duh."
"Yeah and you're not allowed to get married for like forty years, Lydia." Nathan said seriously.
"Babe." Haley laughed, "C'mon, don't be ridiculous."
"No I'm serious. She looks exactly like you, and I know the boys are going to be all over her, and I'm not allowing that." Nathan said firmly. "She's my baby girl and I don't want to see her get hurt."
"Well then, she better marry someone like you." Haley said sweetly and Nathan glanced over at his wife and smiled.
"But I wanna marry Daddy. I love him." Lydia said sticking her lower lip out causing Nathan's heart to constrict in his chest. His little girl meant the world to him and he hated seeing her upset. Lydia was basically a replica of Haley, and Nathan felt an overwhelming sense to protect her. Every time he looked into her large loving brown eyes, he felt his heart swell with pride because he was blessed with a mini-Haley. Every time Lydia did something- such as laugh, smile, pout, and even talk- it always reminded him of his wife. Lydia was 100% Haley. Her personality, looks, and interests, and interests. The only things that she shared with him was his love for basketball. Lydia always watched her father and her brothers playing basketball, and was eager to learn herself. Nathan bought the twin boys a small basketball hoop last year so they could play, and now Lydia started to play as well. Haley often joked that she was her fourth son- and decided that they should try for a fourth child so Lydia can have a sister. Lydia often begged for a little sister to play dress up with or dolls, because her brothers never wanted to.
She formed a special attachment with Haley considering they were the only two females, and Lydia would always watch Haley put on make-up and jewelry, and sometimes she'd even try on Haley's clothes.
To say she was spoiled was an understatement. All she had o do was flash her parents the "puppy dog face" and Nathan and Haley were goners. How could they say no to that face? was their baby, and their only daughter so Nathan treated her like a Princess. She had him wrapped around her little finger. Neither Nathan nor Haley had a favorite child- because each child had a special place in each of their hearts- but it was safe to say Lydia was their baby girl. Nathan couldn't help the wide smile that spread over his face as he thought back to the memory three and a half years ago when he found out Lydia was going to be a girl:
(Flashback):
"Hales! I'm home! Nathan called out, the excitement evident in his voice as he dropped his luggage on the floor and quickly hung up his coat.
"Haley?" Nathan called out again after he was met with silence. Nathan glanced at his phone and checked the time. It was almost ten pm, and he was exhausted. He had a long game against the Phoenix Suns earlier that day.
A year after Nathan and Haley had gotten married, Nathan underwent a surgery to fully recover his knee, and after extensive physical therapy- Nathan beat the odds and made a full recovery. He was able to play for the Bobcats again.
His team was now headed back to Charlotte on the Bobcats official plane considering it was in the midst of basketball season- but Nathan asked his coach if he could take a red-eye flight back to Tree Hill in order to check on his pregnant wife- and luckily, his coach agreed. He had another game on Sunday and he would spend all day be with his family and then they'd head to Charlotte to watch Nathan's game Sunday.
The house was quiet, too quiet, Nathan noted. With a four year old son, and twin two year old boys, the house was never this quiet. Nathan was desperate to find his wife, so he walked through the small entry-way and stopped dead in his tracks when he noticed his wife sprawled across the couch and her eyes were closed, but the television was still on with which Nathan presumed was the Ten O'clock News.
Nathan smiled softly as he took in the scene in front of him. Haley obviously hadn't meant to fall asleep considering she was still in her clothes that Nathan assumed she wore all day. Small candles were scattered around the living room which were still lit. Nathan sighed nervously. He always warned Haley about lighting candles. She always did, because she loved them and they created a romantic atmosphere. Nathan was worried that one of the boys would knock it over and the house would go on fire. Nathan inwardly shuddered at the thought. He didn't care about the house, but he was worried about his kids and wife. If anything ever happened to them he'd never be able to live with himself.
He decided he wouldn't wake up Haley yet, assuming she was probably exhausted, so he went over and covered her with a light blanket, and placed a loving kiss on her forehead.
He didn't know how she did it.
She was practically raising three young boys by herself, plus juggling work as a high school teacher. Luckily, Brooke, Deb, Karen, and Quinn all helped her out watching the boys when she was at work and Nathan wasn't home. He tried to come home as much as he could, because he wanted to be there for his sons. They deserved to know their father, and most importantly he wanted to be there for Haley- especially now that she was pregnant again. He knew stress was not good for her nor the baby.
As happy and excited as he was that they were expecting their fourth child, Nathan felt guilty because he assumed nine months of carrying a child, plus the entire birth process of pushing a baby the size of a bowling ball out of a hole equivalent to the size of a pea, had to be hard work. Haley was always a trooper though, and although she could be extremely moody- Nathan could not complain.
He loved getting her pregnant.
Their love created another life and it was the most fascinating concept in the world.
He knew Haley originally planned on having three children, so Nathan was always worried that he pushed her to have more babies (even though she assured she was fine with it).
After all, his job was easy. All he had to do was what he and Haley did best- make love. His job was always easy. With a wife like Haley, how could it not be easy?
Yet, after many discussions Haley agreed that they could keep trying until they had a girl. Even if it would mean they'd have ten kids. After all, there was a 50/50 chance.
It was bound to happen eventually, right?
As much as Nathan loved the 'process' of creating the babies, once they were born it was the most rewarding and happiest experience of his life. So right around the time when the twins turned two, they decided to try again for a little girl- which would be their fourth child- and Nathan secretly hoped he could persuade Haley for a fifth and final child. He had to admit- he and Haley made pretty amazing kids, and he loved having his own family. He just wished he was home more.
There was nothing he loved more than being a father and a husband. It was the greatest job in the world, and being in the NBA didn't compare at the slightest.
He had been thinking about it a lot lately.
He wanted to talk to Haley about retiring from the NBA. He still loved basketball, and he always would, but it just wasn't the same. Plus, lately he had been feeling so guilty for not being home. He and Haley had a family, and he wanted to be there to raise his children. They deserved to have a father who was there to love and guide them. Most importantly, Haley needed him.
She was not a single mother, nor would she ever be. He had a family and they meant the world to him- he needed to be there. It wasn't fair for Haley to raise the kids for almost five months without her husband- although she never complained and she was always supporting Nathan and his career. God, how he loved that woman.
Nathan was getting tired of missing everything.
He missed Jamie's first basketball game for the Tree Hill Crows little league basketball, and he missed when the twins started to walk. He missed waking up with Haley in his arms, and he missed eating dinner with them every night.
Nathan especially missed today and he felt horrible about it. Today Haley went to the doctor and she found out the gender of the baby.
She had tried to postpone the appointment so that Nathan would be able to make it, but unfortunately he was unable to be home and she had to go to the doctor.
She planned on not knowing the gender until the baby was born, but Nathan couldn't wait any longer so she had decided to find out and then tell her husband when he would come home.
Nathan practically ran out of the locker room, and sped to the airport- probably breaking ten speed limits- but he didn't care. He had to get home.
And now he finally was home.
Nathan went over to the candle and softly blew it out, and walked over to the television to turn it off. When he turned around he noticed Haley stir lightly, and her eyes fluttered open.
Nathan stood in front of the TV starring at his wife with a giant smile, patiently waiting for her to realize he was in the room.
Haley let out a slight yawn, as she turned her head to the side and the yawn turned into a loud gasp.
He was home.
Her heart rate increased tenfold and a giant smile spread across her lips.
"You're home." She breathed happily, as she practically jumped off the couch and ran into her husbands open arms.
Nathan nodded against her head, as he cradled her in his arms, and ran his hands through her honey golden hair.
"God, I missed you so much." Nathan said with a strained voice. You'd think he'd be used to the fact he had to travel so much, but he never did. It was so tough leaving his family, so when he got to see them he cherished every single second.
Haley pulled away slightly so she could look into his fierce blue eyes that still shined so bright.
"I missed you too." She whispered and placed a long kiss on his lips.
Nathan groaned at the contact and he picked Haley up as she swung her legs around his waist, and he deepened the kiss.
Haley let out an audible moan and smiled against her husbands lips.
"So how'd the doctor go?" Nathan asked barely able to contain his excitement.
Haley smiled and practically squealed. "It was good. Great actually." She beamed.
"So..?" Nathan asked as the butterflies swirled in his lower abdomen.
Before Haley could answer, four year old Jamie came racing down the stairs and ran to his dad.
"Daddy! You're home!" Jamie screamed happily.
Nathan's eyes beamed with light as he crouched down and opened his arms for Jamie to run into them.
"Hey bud. I missed you." Nathan said honestly as he picked up his son and embraced him tightly, placing a sweet kiss on his forehead.
"I missed you too Daddy!"
Nathan smiled and rubbed his sons back soothingly. "What are you still doing up little man? It's way past your bed time, and you should be sleeping."
"I head your voice and I wanted to see you. I missed you." Jamie pouted softly and his blue eyes that were identical to his fathers widened softly.
Nathan smiled over at Haley and shrugged. He couldn't yell at his son.
"Alright well how about I tuck you in, and tomorrow we can go to the River court to play basketball and then Karen's Cafe? How does that sound?"
"Yay! Can we Momma? Please?" Jamie pouted again.
Haley laughed, and ran a hand over her son's sandy blonde hair.
"Alright buddy. We can do that, but you have to go to sleep okay?"
"Okay Momma. I love you." Jamie said as his eyes started to droop.
"I love you too Jamie. Goodnight." Haley whispered as she placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
Nathan placed his hand over his son's back and gently carried him up the stairs to his bedroom. Jamie was about to fall asleep, so he lowered him onto his race car bed and tucked him under the covers.
"Goodnight buddy. I love you." He cooed and placed another kiss on his forehead.
"I love you too Daddy." Jamie whispered with his eyes closed.
Nathan smiled, and softly walked out of the room and closed the door. He then walked across the hall to the twin's room, and checked on Jordan and Nicholas. He walked over to each of their cribs and smiled. They were getting so big.
He didn't want to wake them, so he decided to leave and find Haley, who was already standing in the door way of the twins room.
She smiled when Nathan made eye contact and she held out her hand for him to follow. She dragged him into their bedroom and she quickly closed the door, as she shoved him against the door and attacked his lips with hers.
After a heated make out session, Nathan reluctantly pulled away and smirked.
"Whoa. Is my girl frisky?"
Haley giggled softly as she swiped her tongue across her bottom lip. "Sorry, it's just such a turn on when I see you with the boys. You're an amazing father."
"Thanks." Nathan shrugged.
"What? You are baby. The boys love you..."
"I just feel guilty I'm not here as much." He sighed.
"It's okay Nathan." Haley whispered. "You are the best father and husband anyone could ever dream of, and I know your daughter is going to think so too." She revealed with a small smile which grew wider when she looked at Nathan's face.
Nathan's jaw dropped, and he didn't think he heard her correctly.
"W-what?" He stuttered with a large smile.
"We're having a girl Nathan." Haley said with a giant smile that made her cheeks hurt.
"Oh my god." Nathan breathed. He then started to laugh happily. "It's a girl! We're having a daughter!" He almost shouted.
Haley giggled against his lips as she felt him pick her up again and walk her over to their bed. He gently placed her on the mattress and started to kiss her lovingly.
"I'm so happy." Nathan beamed as he pulled away from the kiss.
Haley bit down onto her lip to try and keep her smile at bay- but failed. She couldn't stop smiling.
"Me too." She beamed.
Nathan smiled, and wrapped his arms around her lower back. "I love you."
"I love you too." Haley smiled widely.
"A girl." Nathan whispered. "I can't wait. I hope she's just like you." He revealed.
Haley's heart warmed and she closed her eyes. "She's going to have you wrapped around her finger." She giggled.
"Probably," Nathan laughed. "I can't believe this is happening!"
Haley smiled. She knew Nathan would be excited. He was excited when she told him she was pregnant again, and she knew if it was another boy, they'd still be excited, but she knew he really wanted a girl, and so did she.
They spent the rest of the night celebrating the anxious arrival of the first baby girl Scott.
"Mom? Where do babies come from?" Nicholas Scott asked suddenly, causing Nathan to stir out of his thoughts, and look over at Haley, whose eyes had doubled their size in response. They were definitely not prepared for that awfully dreaded question.
Haley bit down on her lip while Nathan ran a hand through his hair.
Five year olds were far too young to discover the truth.
"Uh.. well... umm.." Nathan stumbled over his words, and let out an uneasy breath.
"Why do you want to know?" Haley asked sweetly. She remembered reading an article in a Parenting magazine that discussed what to say when a child asked the 'Where do Babies come from?" question, and the first step was to discover what sparked their curiosity.
"Well you were just talking about babies, and I don't know where they come from." Nicholas said in an innocent voice. His blue eyes- identical to Nathan, and his brother Jamie's- sparkled with curiosity.
"Yeah Mama, where can I get a baby sister?" Lydia asked in her baby voice.
"Mommy has to eat a seed that Daddy puts in her.. and then... and then... the seed grows, and then.. the seed grows to a baby.. and then it pops.. and then the baby comes." Nicholas's twin brother- Jordan explained. He and Nicholas were identical, except for the fact Jordan had Haley's deep brown eyes, and Nicholas had a dark blue. They both had Nathan's nose, and his raven black hair (Jordan's hair was a bit lighter), but they also shared Haley's mouth. They pretty much were mini- Nathan's, which Haley thought was completely adorable. The twins literally followed their father everywhere, and did everything he did. She often referred to them as 'triplets'.
"That's not true." Jamie said in a sophisticated voice. "Babies are made from love."
Nathan's eyes widened and he almost slammed on the breaks.
"Uh, Jame, how'd you know that?" Haley asked as she looked back at her first born son, who was the perfect mixture of herself and Nathan. He had her intelligence, but Nathan's athleticism. He had Nathan's clear blue eyes, but they were Haley's wide shaped eyes, and he had Nathan's mouth but Haley's nose. He mastered the Scott smirk since the day of his birth. In fact, all of their children had that irresistible smile.
"Because Mommies and Daddies are in love and they kiss a lot, and are mushy gushy all the time, so the more they love each other, the more babies they have!"Jamie explained proudly, clearly satisfied with his answer.
"You're right Jamie." Nathan said, desperately trying to stop this conversation.
"Is there a baby in you now, Mama?" Nicholas asked.
"No sweetie." Haley laughed.
"Can Daddy kiss you now so you can have a baby?" Lydia asked.
"Uh Lyd, it takes a lot more than just a simple kiss." Nathan explained.
"I don't understand." Jordan shouted. "I thought Daddy planted a seed!"
"Um kind of." Haley said blushing, thanking god she wasn't facing her children.
"Where do you buy the seeds?" Nicholas asked.
"Um, you can't buy them sweetie. It's a special thing you can learn about when you're an adult." Haley said in an embarrassed tone.
"How long does it take?" Jordan pressed.
"A while, bud." Nathan said trying to fight off a groan.
"How do you know if a baby is inside of you?" Lydia asked.
"You take a special test." Haley explained softly.
"I wish I could have a baby." Lydia pouted.
"Well maybe your Dad and I will have another baby, and then you can take care of him or her. Is that okay, Lyd?" Haley asked.
"Okay, but don't wait too long." She said, and looked out the window, clearly getting bored with the topic now.
Nathan glanced at his wife and gave her a suggestive look. "Seriously?"
"Well yeah.. if you want." She said with a tentative smile.
"Sure, but I better buy some more seeds then." Nathan winked, causing Haley to laugh loudly.
"Mama, what's so funny?" Nicholas asked, as he looked up from his handheld gaming device.
"Nothing Nick, Daddy told me a funny joke that only adults understand."
"I'm an adult, Mom." Jamie said boisterously.
"Dude, you're seven." Nathan chuckled. "I have socks older than you."
"Hmph." Jamie pouted, and crossed his arms over his chest.
Haley chuckled at her first born son, and the memory of when she told Nathan she was pregnant for the first time flashed through her mind, and a large smile spread across her lips.
Seven and a half years ago:
"So if you need anything, just call me or John we're only an hour away, and we ca come home if anything is wrong. Emergency numbers are listed on the refrigerator, and make sure Emma is asleep by 9:30, and J.J's bedtime is 8:15. Don't give them too much sugar, and..."
"Viv, I got it. Now, go and have fun. You and John deserve a night out. Nathan and I got this covered." Haley told her older sister, who was putting on her coat and getting ready to leave to go to a party with her husband John.
"Okay, thanks so much Hales. I owe you!" Vivian said with a smile.
"Don't worry about it. I'm excited to spend time with my niece and nephew. Nathan is too, right babe?" Haley asked her husband of a year and a half.
Nathan swallowed nervously. "Yeah."
"Okay, thank you!" Vivian said as she hugged her sister and brother in law. "Emma, J.J! We're leaving now!" She shouted to her children.
6 year old Emma, and three year old J.J came running over to their parents and said goodbye.
"Be good for Aunt Haley and Uncle Nathan, alright guys?" Their father John commanded.
"Okay Daddy." Emma agreed, and hugged her father, making Nathan's heart melt. He hoped one day he could be a good father.
"Bye Dadda!" J.J said and also hugged his father.
Vivian also hugged and kissed her children goodbye, and minutes later they were out the door.
"So what do you guys want to do?" Haley asked with a giant smile. She loved kids- especially her niece and nephew. She was extremely close with them, but unfortunately John had a promotion at work which forced them to move an hour away from Tree Hill, which disabled Haley from seeing them as often as she would have liked. The last time she saw them was about six months ago at her and Nathan's one year wedding anniversary party. Before that, she would try to see them four times a month, since Emma and J.J absolutely adored her and Nathan.
"I wanna play a game!" Emma shouted.
"Okay, we can do that." Haley smiled, "What kind of game should we play?"
"Twister!" J.J. exclaimed happily.
Haley giggled, "Okay that's a fun game, why don't you go and set it up?"
J.J nodded as he and his sister raced towards their play room, leaving Nathan and Haley alone in the living room.
"Hey." She turned to face her husband and smiled.
"Hi." Nathan whispered back.
"What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.
"Nothing." Nathan lied.
Even after a year and half of marriage, Haley knew when her husband was lying. "Nathan." She drawled out.
Nathan huffed, "It's just.. I'm not good with kids. I really don't know what to say or do. I'm gonna look like an idiot."
Haley bit down on her lip to try and suppress a laugh as she ran her hands over his shoulders. "Emma and J.J. love you. I love you. You're not an idiot. They're just kids. They do't remember anything anyway. Just be yourself." Haley advised softly and placed a sweet kiss on his lips.
"Thanks baby. I love you too." Nathan smiled, and felt his heart flutter. Every day he felt himself falling even more in love with his wife. He didn't even know it was possible to love someone as much as he loved Haley.
Haley flashed him a brilliant smile, and grabbed his hand to take him to the play room where Emma was impatiently shouting for them.
Nathan and Haley walked into the play room hand-in-hand and glanced around the toy room. The 'Twister' mat was spread across the rug and J.J was jumping up and down with excitement.
"Okay, so who's the spinner first?" Haley asked.
"Me!" Emma volunteered happily, and Nathan, Haley and J.J all walked over to step on the white rubber mat with round colorful circles.
"How do we play this again?" Nathan asked shyly.
"I'm going to spin this arrow, and whatever it lands on you have to do. So like I just spin-ed-ed it and it landed on right foot red, so put your right foot on the red circle." Emma explained.
"Okay, that sounds easy." Nathan said proudly, and felt his competitive streak start up.
"You're going down Scott." Haley smirked playfully, and gave her nephew a high-five.
"Yeah Unca Nathan! I'm gonna beat your butt!" J.J shouted.
"We'll see about that Buddy!" Nathan chuckled, and Emma shouted the first command. "Right hand green!"
Nathan and Haley both bent down to put their right hands on green, and J.J crouched down and put his left hand on the green dot.
"No, J.J. other hand." Haley corrected him politely.
"Sorry." J.J pouted, and put his right hand this time.
"He can't even play! He doesn't even know which hand is left and which hand is right!" Emma announced bitterly.
"It's okay, we'll help him." Nathan said with a smile.
Emma huffed, "Fine. Okay, left foot blue." She said after she spun again.
Haley and Nathan accidentally put their feet on the same spot, causing Haley to blush, and quickly moved her foot to a different spot.
Emma walked over to her brother to make sure he was on the right spot, and smiled. "Good job J.J!"
"Thanks Emma!" J.J. smiled proudly.
"Okay, next is right foot yellow!" Emma announced, and Nathan let out a slight groan. J.J- being small- was able to easily reach over to the yellow circle, and had plenty of room. Nathan and Haley however, were already twisted into a pretzel. Haley reached in front of Nathan, and stuck her tongue out at him as their legs were twisted around one another.
"Left hand blue!" Emma called out.
Nathan glanced behind him, and groaned again. He had to reach over J.J. and place his hand on the circle, and J.J's arm wasn't long enough to reach the circle, so he toppled over and pouted.
"Aw man! I always loose." He said dejectively.
"Sorry bud!" Nathan said offering him a small smile.
"Can I spin now?" J.J. asked.
"Alright." Emma agreed, and after J.J. spun, she announced that it was left foot red.
"You give up get Hales?" Nathan smirked, as he swiveled his hip and got into a crouching position.
Haley's eyes widened, and she leaned over and got on all fours. "Nathan! Your knee.." She shouted worriedly.
"My knee is fine babe, I think you're just worried I'm gonna beat you." He smirked.
"Yeah right." Haley snorted playfully.
"I want aunt Haley to win!" Emma cheered.
"Gee. Thanks Em." Nathan said in a teasing voice.
"Sorry Uncle Nate, but Aunt Haley is a girl and girls rule." She said with a triumphant smile.
"Thanks but you better spin soon or I might loose." Haley said as she felt her knees wobble.
"Yellow!" J. J announced.
"Right hand yellow!" Emma clarified.
"Shi- I mean-shoot!" Nathan muttered quietly.
Haley bit down on her lip and turned around so that her butt was inches away from Nathan's face, causing his heart rate to quicken. Now was definitely not an appropriate time to reach and have his way with her. He had to remind himself their were children in the room.
However, when Haley reached across the mat, her shirt rode up gently, exposing her lower back and 23 tattoo, making Nathan let out a light groan. He was seconds away from loosing it. He had a hard time controlling himself around his wife, and he couldn't look away from her in her tight black leggings. Nathan tightly squeezed his eyes together in attempt to calm himself down but he couldn't get the image of his wife's perfect backside out of his mind. Plus the tattoo was a complete aphrodisiac and felt a certain piece of anatomy harden at the thought.
"What's wrong Unca Nate?" J.J asked as he sensed a look of discomfort on his uncles face.
Nathan looked up and smiled nervously, "uh nothing." He choked.
"He's just afraid to loose." Haley said, having no idea how flustered her husband was becoming.
Nathan cleared his throat and took a deep breath. "Okay Emma, what's the next move?"
"Right foot green!" She smiled.
Haley smirked, and pivoted her right foot turning around and bending down to expose her ample cleavage. Nathan couldn't bring himself to look away, and when he went to put his right foot on the green spot, he felt himself loose balance and he toppled over and fell down on the mat.
"I win!" Haley said as she started shaking her bum in Nathan's face, causing his temperature to increase hotter than fire.
He then wrapped his arms around her ankle and pulled her onto of him.
"You don't play fair Mrs. Scott." Nathan whispered huskily.
Haley straddled her legs over his waist and leaned down to place a soft kiss on his lips, but pulled away after a second leaving Nathan wanting more.
"I know." She winked discreetly, and wriggled around on his lower anatomy, causing it to twitch slightly. "You really need to control yourself, Mr. Scott."
"Ew kissing is gross!" J.J. whined.
Nathan closed his eyes and tried to think about anything other than the fact his wife was straddling him, and her soft breath was blowing into his left ear.
With that, she stood up, and Nathan rolled over to hide his bulge in his jeans.
"Aunt Haley won!" Emma cheered, and ran over to hug her aunt.
Haley laughed, and winked again at Nathan who was breathing heavily.
'What's wrong with Uncle Nate?" Emma asked Haley quietly.
Haley laughed loudly. "He's just a little upset that he lost."
"I thought you were a pro basketball player!" Emma patronized Nathan with a teasing smirk.
"You and you're aunt are like twins." Nathan chuckled.
"Why?" Emma asked.
"You guys act the same." Nathan pointed out.
"Yay! I want to be just like Aunt Haley. She's beautiful!" Emma smiled with a certain glimmer in her eyes.
"She is." Nathan said genuinely. "But she's also evil." He smirked, and Haley threw a toy brick at his head.
"Whoa no need to be abusive, wifey." He teased.
Haley playfully rolled her eyes, "Whatever, go take a cold shower."
"What does that mean?" Emma asked curiously.
Nathan laughed at his wife's embarrassed expression. "Yeah Hales, what does that mean?" He smirked.
'It means I hate your uncle." Haley said as she glared at Nathan.
Nathan laughed loudly, but it soon turned into a groan when he felt J.J jump onto his back. "Piggy! Piggy!" He called out playfully.
"What?" Nathan chuckled.
'It means he wants a piggy back ride." Emma clarified.
"Oh, um, okay." Nathan nodded, "But first I uh, I have to use the bathroom."
"I'll show you where it is!" Emma exclaimed and then ran over to Nathan and grabbed his hand to drag him to the bathroom, causing Haley to giggle.
"Thanks Em." Nathan smiled when they arrived in front of the bathroom door.
"Do you want me to come inside with you?" Emma asked as she batted her eyebrows.
Nathan laughed softly, "No thanks. I'm good. You should go tackle your aunt Haley though."
"Okay!" Emma grinned, and ran off towards the playroom.
Haley was listening to J.J who was eagerly showing her all of his toy trains. Emma ran behind Haley and jumped on her back causing Haley to let out a small shriek.
"Emma! You scared me!" Haley said as she involuntarily placed a hand over her heart and stomach.
"Sorry, uncle Nathan told me to jump on you." Emma giggled.
"He did, did he?" Haley asked with a smile.
"Yup!"
Haley laughed, "Well your uncle Nathan is crazy."
"Can we play dolls?" Emma asked with a small pout.
"Okay." Haley smiled and walked over to where Emma had her dolls set up.
"This one's name is Maggie. She's my favorite." Emma said as she held up a doll in a pink dress.
"She's very pretty!" Haley complimented.
"And this one's name is Haley. I named her after you!" Emma gave her aunt a cheeky smile.
Haley gave her niece a soft smile, "That was very nice of you, thank you sweetie."
"You're welcome." Emma blushed slightly.
"What's that baby's name?" Haley asked as she pointed to a baby in a blue crib.
"I don't know. I never named him. He's a boy, and I don't like boys." Emma said with a scrunched up nose.
Haley giggled, "Your dad is a boy. So is J.J, and Uncle Nathan, and you like them."
"Yeah but like, I don't like the boys my age. They're stupid and annoying." Emma huffed.
Haley laughed loudly, "Yeah boys are stupid. You shouldn't date for a really long time."
"I want to date someone like Uncle Nathan. He's the best!"
Haley smiled, and hugged Emma, "Yeah. He is the best." Haley sighed contently. "I love him more than anything."
"More than me?" Emma pouted.
"Never!" Haley smiled, "Just don't tell him that."
"Okay!" Emma giggled, and walked over to the crib to retrieve the plastic baby and handed it to Haley. "You can name him."
Haley bit down on her lip and pretended to think about it. "How about James?"
"James? Okay, I like it!" Emma said with a proud smile. "You have to feed him now. He's very hungry."
Haley laughed softly, and pretended to go along with the game. "Okay, what do I feed him with?"
"This bottle. You have to hold it to his lips so he can drink from it." Emma stated.
Haley gently took the bottle from Emma's hands and cradled the doll in her arms, as she pretended to feed him. "Like this?" Haley asked with a small smile.
"Perfect! You're gonna be a good mommy one day."
Haley blushed softly. "Thanks Em, so will you."
"Are you ever going to have a baby Aunt Haley?" J.J suddenly asked as he came up behind Haley.
"I hope so." Haley smiled shyly.
"Where can you get one?" J.J asked again.
"They grow in her stomach." Emma said. "That's what happened when Momma was preg-a-gant with you." She stuttered.
"Is there a baby in your stomach Aunt Haley?"
"Ummm.." Haley bit down on her lip and gulped nervously. "Not yet sweetie."
"How do they get in there?" J.J asked.
"From love!" Emma shouted, and then jumped on Haley again.
"Be careful! You don't want to hurt James!" Haley said in a playful stern voice.
"Oops! Sorry!" Emma giggled softly, and hugged the baby.
"Who's James?" J.J asked.
"My baby." Haley said with a laugh, and J.J laughed along as he and his sister hugged Haley.
Meanwhile, Nathan stood in the door frame with a large smile on his face as he watched Haley interact with the children. It made his heart melt. He knew Haley was going to make an amazing mother one day, and he wanted to start trying for real. He was ready to be a Dad, and he couldn't wait to start their family.
"Hey goofballs. What are you guys up to?" Nathan chuckled.
Haley rested her weight on her elbows and looked up at her handsome husband. "They're attacking me!" She joked.
"I'll save you!" Nathan said in a dramatic voice, and rushed over to swoop down and pick up Haley in his arms.
"My hero!" She sighed dramatically, eliciting loud giggles from the kids, and threw her arms around his neck as he carried her into the kitchen with the kids following closely behind. J.J latched onto Nathan's leg and squeezed it tightly.
"Rawrr!" J.J screamed and laughed wildly as Nathan pretended to shake him off his shin.
"I'm hungry!" Emma suddenly whined.
"Okay, what do you want for dinner?" Haley asked as she was still in Nathan's arms.
"Mac 'n' Cheese, please!" Emma begged.
Haley laughed, "Okay. I can do that if Uncle Nathan ever puts me down."
"Never!" Nathan smirked, and swung her around in his arms. "I'm never, ever letting go of you."
"Fine. No dinner then." Haley smirked.
Nathan then swiftly placed her on her feet, and Haley chuckled. "I knew you couldn't resist the food of the gods."
"Yeah if the gods are five year olds." He remarked.
"I'm six!" Emma corrected.
"Right. That's what I meant." Nathan winked causing both Emma and Haley to swoon.
Haley and Emma then started to make dinner together while J.J and Nathan played video games together, and Nathan couldn't help but feel like it was a hint of what life would be like when they had their own kids, and he liked the feeling a lot.
After dinner, the four of them watched two movies, and then decided it was bed time.
"Can you read us a bed time story?" Emma asked as she walked her brother to his bedroom, and Nathan and Haley followed hand in hand.
"Sure." Nathan smiled, and kneeled down next to J.J's racecar bed while Emma and Haley sat on the edge of the bed.
"What kind of story do you want to hear?" Haley asked.
"About love!" Emma clapped.
Nathan laughed, "Okay well once upon a time there was a guy named uh Nathaniel, and a girl named Holly and they met on vacation. Nathaniel fell in love with Holly right away because she was the most beautiful girl in the world. Holly didn't really like Nathaniel at first-"
"Why not?" Emma asked.
Haley smiled, "Because he was nasty-"
"No he wasn't! He just was... he liked a lot of girls."
"Yeah, but he liked Holly the most." Haley smiled.
"Right. He loved her so much."
"And then what happened?" Emma asked.
"Well Nathaniel told Holly he loved her but she ran away because she was scared-"
"Yeah she never was in love before." Haley added.
"Anyway, after a few.. days..." Nathan said reluctantly, Nathaniel found Holly, and Holly said she was in love with Nathaniel too.
"Yeah, and then they dated again for a while.."
"And then Nathaniel proposed-"
"What does that mean?" J.J asked with his eyes closed.
Haley chuckled, and showed him her engagement ring as well as her wedding ring. "It means that Nathaniel asked Hal- Holly to marry him and he gave her a big, beautiful ring and she said yes."
"Yeah, and they had a huge wedding on the beach where they met..."
"And they had a family.." Haley said softly.
"And they lived happily ever after!" Nathan grinned, and grabbed Haley's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.
Emma smiled, and let out a loud yawn. "That sounds like a nice story."
"It is." Haley smiled widely, and Nathan gently scooped Emma up in his arms while ruffling J.J's hair. "Goodnight Bud. Sleep tight."
"Night Uncle Nathan, Aunt Haley, Emma. Love you." He mumbled sleepily.
Nathan grinned happily, and carried Emma across the hall, while Haley turned out J.J's light and placed a light kiss on his forehead. "G'night J.J." She then closed his door, and trotted into Emma's room where Nathan was tucking her into her bed, and her heart melted at the sight. He was going to be an amazing dad.
"Goodnight Emma. I had a lot of fun tonight." Nathan said softly.
"Me too." Emma smiled even though her eyes were closed. "Can you and Aunt Haley babysit more?"'
Nathan chuckled softly, "We'll try."
"Okay."
Just then, Haley made her presence known, and came up from behind Nathan, as she slowly leaned down to place a kiss on Emma's forehead. "Nigh Emma. We love you."
"I love you too." Emma whispered happily, and Haley grabbed Nathan's hand to pull him out of her room, as she shut the light and door behind her.
"You're so good with them." Nathan said as he and Haley took a seat on the couch in the living room.
"Funny, I could say the same about you." Haley said as she rested her head on Nathan's shoulder.
"I.. uh... I wanted to ask you something, but you don't have to feel pressured or anything.. if you're not ready.. you can just say no.."' Nathan stuttered.
Haley picked her head off of his shoulder and looked him in the eyes, "What is it, baby?"
Nathan smiled softly, and grabbed Haley's hand as his blue eyes bore into her large brown ones.
"I uh.. tonight I realized.. I really like Emma and J.J.."
"Okay?" Haley laughed softly.
Nathan gulped nervously, "Well, I never thought I'd be like good around kids, but I really enjoyed it and I um I know you really love kids.. and you're so good with them.."
"Nathan, what are you trying to say?" Haley asked softly.
"I want to have a baby." Nathan said with a tenacious smile.
Haley couldn't help the laugh that escaped her lips.
Nathan;s smile fell. "What? Why are you laughing?" He asked nervously.
"You want to have a baby?"
Nathan looked at her like she had grown another head. "Well yea.. I thought you always wanted to have kids, and I just thought the time was right, and I wanted to start trying, but if you don't want to..."
Haley laughed and then cut off his rant with a fiery kiss.
Nathan pulled away and smirked, "When I said I wanted to start trying I didn't mean this second, but hey, I wouldn't complain."
Haley playfully rolled her eyes, and bit down on her lip.
"What is it?" Nathan asked seriously, as Haley shifted onto her knees.
"We don't need to try." She said trying to suppress the giant grin threatening to take over her face.
"I don't understand.." Nathan said.
Haley inhaled deeply, and smiled widely. "I'm pregnant."
Nathan's eyes widened and a giant smile stretched across his mouth. "Are you serious?" He asked in a giddy voice.
"We're having a baby!" She giggled, and Nathan instantly pushed her down on the couch and attached his lips to hers in a passionate kiss.
"Oh my god! I'm so happy!" He practically screamed.
Haley laughed and put her index finger over his lips. "Shh, you're gonna wake the kids."
"I don't care. We're having a baby Hales! God, I'm so excited. When did this..?"
"I found out yesterday. I was two days late, and I took a pregnancy test, and it was positive, but I didn't want to get your hopes up, so I went to the doctor and she confirmed it. I'm sorry I didn't tell you, I was just waiting for the right moment."
"How far along are you?" Nathan whispered, still with a giant smile.
"Five and a half weeks." Haley giggled, and placed a kiss on her husbands lips.
"That must mean it was that Sunday we spent the whole day making love." Nathan smirked.
"That was the best day ever."
"No the best day was when I married you, but I think the day you give birth to our first child will also be the best day." Nathan whispered lovingly.
Haley smiled despite the tears that were filling her eyes. "I love you so much Nathan."
"I love you too Hales."
"How much longer?" Jordan asked impatiently.
Haley laughed softly. Jordan was extremely impatient- just liked her husband. Every summer, for Nathan and Haley's wedding anniversary, they would take the kids up to Holden Beach and rent cabin 23 for a week. Haley and Nathan have made it a ritual ever since they got married, and they never missed it for anything. By now, the boys knew of the ritual, and were extremely excited to go back. This was the first year Lydia was able to fully understand where they were going, but she still didn't know why it was such an important family ritual, and Nathan and Haley were extremely excited to tell her this year.
"Almost." Nathan smiled as he turned onto a dirt road with the infamous 'Welcome to Holden Beach' sign.
"Look Mom! The sign!" Jamie pointed out.
"It still looks the same." Haley smiled.
"So Lyd, do you know why Holden Beach is very special for mommy and me?" Nathan asked as he looked into the rear view mirror to see his daughter bouncing in her car seat.
"Because you like the beach?" She asked.
Haley giggled quietly, "Well yes, but there's a bigger story."
"Really?" Lydia asked.
"Yeah. This is where Mommy and I met. We were 18 years old." Nathan said with a nostalgic smile.
"We also got married here." Haley said with a wide smile.
"And it's where asked your mom to marry me."
"It was so perfect! He took me on a small row boat- the same row boat we had our first kiss-''
"Ew! Kissing is gross!" Nick said pretending to gag.
Nathan laughed, "You won't say that forever."
"Nathan!" Haley scolded, and lightly slapped his forearm.
"What?" Nathan chuckled, "I'm serious. If he's a Scott, he's gotta accept that fact that Scott men come with playboy repu-"
"Excuse me?" Haley asked as she folded her arms over her chest defiantly.
"Uhh.. I mean.. Scott men are loving and devoted and perfect husbands?" Nathan offered.
Haley playfully rolled her eyes.
"You know I was a playboy before you baby, but now that I have you, there's no one else. I can't even look at another woman. You're too damn perfect, and no one can compare." Nathan said seriously.
"Right." Haley huffed.
"I'm serious, babe. You're so beautiful and so damn sexy." Nathan winked, causing Haley to blush, and the familiar butterflies fluttered in her stomach.
'What does sexy mean?" Jordan asked.
Haley blushed brighter than a red tomato, and Nathan let out a loud cough. "Uhh, it's what your mom is."
"Smooth Nathan." Haley chuckled.
Jordan just shrugged, and looked out the window, eagerly watching as the cabins passed by, and trying to find cabin 23.
"I'm so excited!" Haley said as she practically bounced in her seat.
"You're such a dork." Nathan joked.
"Hey!" Haley pouted.
"But I still love you." Nathan said with a smile that sent Haley's heart rate to two hundred miles a minute. "But for the record, I'm excited too." Nathan breathed.
"Me three!" Jordan exclaimed.
"Me four!" Nicholas called after Jordan.
"Me five!" Jamie shouted and high fived his little brothers.
"Me a million gazillion!" Lydia screamed happily, causing everyone to laugh.
"Alright you knuckle heads. We're here!" Nathan announced with an elated smile.
"Yay!" Lydia clapped, and Jamie eagerly pushed open the Range Rover door, and climbed out.
"Whoa, slow down buddy!" Haley laughed, and quickly leaned across the care console and pressed a short kiss on Nathan's lips.
"I love you." She whispered.
Nathan smiled, "I love you too, Haley James Scott."
With that, Nathan climbed out of the car, and ran over to the passenger side to open the car door for his wife, who smiled appreciatively.
"You're such a gentleman. Thanks baby." Haley smiled, and hopped out of the car to help the twins out, while Nathan unbuckled Lydia from her car seat and carried her to the trunk.
He then unloaded the luggage, and handed Lydia to Haley while he and the boys carried their things from the car to the cabin.
Once everything was settled, the Scott family changed into their bathing suits and headed down to the beach.
"Beach! Beach!" Lydia chanted as she let go of Nathan's hand and started to run ahead.
"Lydia Bob Scott! Stop running right this instant!" Haley scolded.
"Lydia! You have to stay with me. You know better!" Nathan reprimanded as he scooped Lydia into his arms and held onto Nicholas's hand on his right side, and Haley's hand on his left side. Haley was holding Jordan's hand, and Jamie was walking a few inches ahead of them because he claimed he was too old to be walking 'next' to his family.
They finally made it down the sandy road, and decided to place their towels and other belongings right by the edge of the water so they can pay close attention to their kids.
"Before you guys play, you have to put on sunscreen okay?" Haley told her children and helped Lydia and Nick, while Nathan put on Jordan's sunscreen as well as Jamie's.
"Dad I can put my own sunscreen on!" Jamie pouted.
"No bud, I don't want you missing any spots. The sun is really strong today, and I don't want you getting sun burnt." Nathan explained.
"Fine." He pouted, and Nathan simply chuckled as he rubbed the lotion on his son's back.
"Alright lil' man. You're all set." Nathan said as he rubbed his hands together.
"Thanks Dad!" Jamie said, and picked up a football to throw to his brother Nick.
"Boys! Be careful!" Haley called as they started getting closer to the water.
"They'll be fine Hales." Nathan said as he came up from behind her and hugged her tightly.
Haley sighed softly, and leaned into her husband's embrace. "I'm sorry, I just can't help but worry sometimes."
"I know. You're an amazing mother, and I love you for that." Nathan whispered into her ear.
Haley inwardly shuddered at her husbands voice, which sent chills down her back.
"Can you uh, put some lotion on for me please?" Haley whispered in a seductive voice.
"Sure." Nathan choked.
"Daddy! Daddy! Can you help me build a sandcastle please?" Lydia asked with her puppy dog eyes.
"Um.. just a sec Princess." Nathan said as he watched Haley strip down to her bikini and lie down on a towel. Next he straddled her lower back as he poured sunscreen on his hands and rubbed it over his wife's bikini clad body.
"You're so sexy baby." Nathan growled lowly into Haley's ear.
"Oh you're bad." Haley chuckled.
"I don't play fair, James- Scott. You should know that by now." He flirted, and rubbed more lotion onto her '23' tattoo.
"Do you remember the first time I put sunscreen on you? It was the first time we met, and you were wearing that little red bikini. God, you were so freaking hot. I fantasized about you every single night." Nathan whispered breathlessly as he dug deeply into Haley's shoulder blades. "I never would have imagined I'd be lucky enough to have you for the rest of my life and be where we are in this exact moment. I get to put sunscreen on you whenever I want." He growled.
Haley let out an inaudible moan, "Nathan please, just put on my sunscreen quickly. We don't have time for this. The kids are right here!"
"Damn.." Nathan pouted.
Haley then sat up and brought her lips closely to his ear, "I promise you we can finish this later."
Nathan's mouth went dry, and Haley crawled from under his grasp, and straddled him as she rubbed lotion onto her hands, and gently caressed Nathan's muscular back with the sunscreen,
"I really love your back." Haley said seductively. "It's so muscular."
Nathan felt himself harden at the sound of her hot voice and he groaned lightly when he felt her soft hands rub his skin.
"Babe you're killing me.." Nathan whispered.
"Sorry Scott. I don't play fair. You should know that. " Haley said with a wink as she placed a soft kiss on Nathan's bare back and quickly stood up before Nathan could do anything else.
"Daddy!" Lydia pouted. "Can we play in the sand now?"
"Give Daddy a minute sweetie. He needs to go in the water and cool off. He's really hot." Haley said while staring at her husband who was now lying on his stomach to cover up his hardened member. "
"I wanna go swimming with daddy!" Lydia exclaimed.
"You can later, baby, but first you have to eat your lunch. I made you a pb and j sandwich. " haley smiled.
"Can you eat lunch with me mommy?" Lydia asked in her baby voice.
"Of course." Haley answered as she bent down and took out the cooler she prepared that carried a bunch of food and snacks.
Nathan slightly wiggled on the beach towel as he was in a trance staring at his wife's backside, which Haley- even though she was facing the other way- some how knew her husband was leering at her.
"Nathan. You better quit staring, or you won't be able to walk in front of an entire beach showing how much you 'appreciate' me." Haley said as she turned around catching Nathan in the act of staring. Sometimes he was still like the 18 year old she met, and he was infatuated with her body.
"Huh?" Nathan asked as he snapped out of his trance once Haley turned around.
Haley rolled her eyes, and glanced down to his obvious erection. "You really need to control yourself! I mean seriously! You're 35, not 15!" She lectured.
Nathan smirked, "You know Hales, I really love it when you get all feisty like this. It's so se-"
"Go in the water Nathan!" Haley said loudly as she pointed towards the ocean.
Nathan swiftly got up, and discreetly slapped his wife's backside, causing her to jump slightly.
"Don't worry. No one will see how excited you get me. I know you're the only one who likes to see-" Nathan flirted.
Haley felt her cheeks burn brighter than a flame. "Nathan.." She said in a firm tone.
"Sorry!" He smirked as he held his hands up in defense. "I'm going." He then turned around and ran into the ocean, and less than a minute later the boys followed him. He was lucky to be in the cold water, and he could discreetly watch Haley move like and angel on the sand next to Lydia.
He also watched as the teenage punks around him were leering at his wife, and he was seconds away from drowning them in the water, but Jordan came deeper into the water, so Nathan swiftly swam over to him and picked him up so he wouldn't sink.
"Jordan! You have to be careful buddy. The ocean is very deep, and it can pull you all the way out there!" Nathan explained as he pointed to the horizon. "So you have to stay knee deep. You're not allowed past your knees, unless I'm holding you. Okay?"
"Okay!" Jordan nodded, and Nathan dropped him back over by the shore.
The Scott boys then started throwing the football to each other, and if it went far into the water, Nathan would go and retrieve it.
Meanwhile, Haley and Lydia were eating their lunches as they watched the boys horse around by the water.
"We need more girls in this family, huh?" Haley asked as she involuntarily licked her lips as she watched Nathan throw the football. His muscles bulging in all the right places.
"Yeah!" Lydia nodded, while taking a sip from her juice box.
Haley laughed, "Well you know Auntie Brook is pregnant again. Maybe she'll have a little girl this time." She referred to Brooke and Lucas's nine and five year old sons Davis and Jude.
"I want you to have a little girl!" Lydia said with wide eyes.
Haley laughed softly, "You really want a fifth kid running around the house?"
"Yeah! I want a sissy!"
"But that means you won't be Daddy's little girl anymore..." Haley said tenaciously.
"I'll always be Daddy's little girl." Lydia smirked. "Always and forever he said."
Haley giggled, "Funny. He told me the same thing."
Just then, the Scott boys came running over, dripping wet with the salty ocean.
"Hi boys!" Haley greeted with a wide smile. "Did you have fun?"
"Yeah! Did you see me mommy? I caught the ball five times!" Nick exclaimed.
"I did buddy! Good job." Haley praised.
"I caught the ball five times, too, Momma!" Jordan smiled.
"Yeah and I tackled Dad!" Jamie said proudly.
"I'm so proud of you guys." Haley said as she gave each of her sons a high five.
"Do I get a high five, Hales? I threw the ball pretty far." Nathan smirked.
Haley giggled girlishly- something she found herself doing a lot around her husband- "I suppose so." She grinned, and gave him a high five as well.
"I want a high five!" Lydia pouted.
Haley, Nathan, Jamie, Jordan, and Nick all rushed over to the smallest Scott and gave her high fives, causing her to laugh wildly.
"Mom what's for lunch?" Jamie asked. "I'm starving!"
"Yeah momma. I'm hungry too." Jordan groaned.
"I want lunch too!" Nick exclaimed.
"Yeah Hales. Can we have lunch?" Nathan asked.
Haley laughed softly and took three bags each with a name written on it.
"Turkey for Jamie." Haley said as she tossed a zip-lock bag to her eldest son. "Ham for Jordan and Nick." She said as she tossed each bag to a twin, "And roast beef for the big baby." She joked as she half- tossed Nathan his sandwich, who luckily caught it before it hit the sand.
"Hey Hales, do you remember when I tossed you that soda and it splattered all over you, the day we met?" Nathan asked, causing their kids to laugh wildly.
Haley blushed, "Yes, god, that was so embarrassing. I was so nervous around you."
"Why Momma?" Nick asked.
"Because she was totally into me, and didn't want to seem like a loser even though she was." Nathan smirked.
Haley rolled her eyes, "Sometimes I question why I married you."
"Because I'm gorgeous, and you love me, and I'm the best husband in the world." Nathan smirked.
"Are you getting a divorce?" Jordan asked with tears welling in his eyes.
Nathan chuckled, "What bud? Where did you get that?"
"Momma just said she didn't know why she married you." Jordan cried.
"No sweetie, I was just kidding. Your Dad and I are never going to get a divorce. I love him way too much." Haley explained.
"Okay. Good." Jordan said wiping his tears. Haley's heart melted. Jordan always tried to be the tough guy, but he loved his family more than anything, and he hated when anyone would fight. He reminded Haley so much of Nathan. Nick was very sentimental, and also hated fighting. He would cry a lot, but it was rare for Jordan to cry. They're personalities were extremely different even though they looked alike- but they complimented each other nicely.
"Can you tell us more stories from your past?" Jamie asked.
"Sure bud. What do you want to know?" Nathan questioned.
"Everything!" Lydia spoke up.
So they told their kids everything. (Minus the sex parts, of course). They told them about when they first met, their first date, first kiss, Haley's birthday, and when they planned their future together about having five kids, and of course when Nathan told her he loved her and she told him to leave...
"Mom! Why would you tell Dad to leave?" Jamie exclaimed.
Haley frowned, "I was scared. I was stupid. I didn't know he would be your dad, but I knew I felt very strongly about him. I was worried because we were going to different colleges."
"Then what happened?" Nick asked in an intrigued voice.
"Well then I went to Daddy's college to tell hiim I loved him, but I saw him with another girl..."
"Dad how can you do that to mom!?" Jamie screamed.
"It was my best friend. Mommy thought it was my girlfriend but it wasn't. Before I got to explain, Mom left, and I didn't see her for four years."
"Four years? Whoa!" Jordan exclaimed.
"So then how did you guys meet again?" Jamie asked.
Haley laughed as she thought about it. "It was raining, and I went to the supermarket. I ran into your dad."
"Yeah we literally ran into each other." Nathan laughed.
"Then what?" Lydia probed.
"Well your Daddy was in town for Uncle Lucas and Aunt Brooke's wedding, and we had to be in the special wedding party together, and at first I was mad at your Dad, but after a while he kept trying to show me he still loved me, and I wasn't mean to him anymore..."
"But your mom went to the wedding with some other guy."
"Ew! Why?" Jordan asked.
"Because I wanted to make your dad jealous." Haley laughed.
"That's mean mom." Jamie scowled.
"I know. It was stupid of me, but it worked."
"Yeah I was jealous, and then your mom sang songs at the wedding about me, and I ran outside but she followed me outside and explained to me she wanted another chance, but after that we spent the night together... um... talking.." Nathan said while Haley blushed.
"But when I woke up Daddy wasn't there, so I followed him to the airport and I stopped him and told him I loved him for the first time, and he never went on the plane, but instead we started dating for real, and we were in love. Then over a year later he proposed right here at Holden beach on the lake where he brought me. It was so romantic and so perfect. Daddy even cried." Haley revelaed with a smile.
"You did?" Jamie laughed.
"Yeah, I did." Nathan blushed lightly.
"And a few months after that, we got married right here on this beach!" Haley smiled.
"That's nice!" Lydia cooed. "I love you Mommy and Daddy!"
"We love you too." Haley said as tears started to fall from her eyes.
"Aw Hales, c'mon. don't cry baby."
"I'm sorry. I'm just so happy!" Haley said as she wiped away the small tear. "I love you all so much."
"Can we go on the lake where you asked mom to marry you?" Jamie asked.
"Sure bud. We can take you there tomorrow." Nathan smiled. "It's a really special spot for us, so you can't tell anyone okay?"
"Can I bring Madison there?" Jamie asked.
Haley looked up at Nathan as her eyes widened. "Who is Madison?"
"Oh. I met her by the water before. She's seven, and she's from Wilmington. She's really pretty.." Jamie blushed.
"Oh man." Nathan smirked. "Holden Beach is like the Beach of Love."
"What are you thinking about?" Haley asked as she walked into her and Nathan's cabin bedroom, while tying her robe around her body. The room was on the third floor, while the kids rooms were on the second floor.
"Just about all the memories we made here." Nathan said with a smile.
"Yeah. It's nice. Isn't it?" Haley asked softly with a matching smile.
"You know the twins were conceived in this bed right?" Nathan smirked. "I was just thinking about it."
Haley blushed as she crawled onto the bed and curled into Nathan's side. "I don't think they would want to know that, so please keep it to yourself." Haley giggled.
"I know." Nathan smiled, "I still can't believe they're five. Time goes by so fast."
"I know it really does." Haley sighed as she thought back to when she and Nathan found out they were having twins:
Five and a half years ago:
"Mr and Mrs. Scott, Doctor Conn is ready for you now." The lady at the front desk said with a smile.
Nathan stood up first while he wrapped his arm around Haley's lower back and helped her stand up. He then guided her into one of the rooms, and waited patiently for Dr. Conn to join them.
"I can't believe we're having another baby!" Nathan gushed.
"I know." Haley smiled, "I'm sorry if it's too soon. I know Jamie is only two, and we said we wanted to wait until he was three..."
Nathan smiled and placed a soft kiss on Haley's hand, "It's okay. We're just getting a head start. We still have three more babies to go, and I don't want to be an old dad." He joked.
Haley laughed softly, "Okay. I'm excited. I think Jamie is happy to have a brother or sister too."
Nathan beamed happily, "We make pretty great babies."
"We do." Haley smiled.
Just then the doctor walked through the door with a wide smile. "Hello Mr, and Mrs. Scott. Good to see you guys again. How are you doing?"
"Great." Haley beamed. "Everything is perfect so far. Nathan and I are really excited."
"That's good to hear." Dr. Conn smiled. "So would you like to find out the gender today?"
Nathan and Haley shared a look and smiled knowingly. "No thanks. We want to be surprised." Nathan said.
"Okay, sure." Dr. Conn nodded understandingly and got ready to put the cool gel on Haley's stomach.
"So how's baby James?" The white haired doctor asked.
"He's great, thanks. He's getting so big!" Haley said with a smile.
"I can only imagine." Dr. Conn laughed. "So is he excited to have a baby brother or sis-?" He stopped mid sentence when his head whipped around to look at the baby monitor.
"Is everything okay?" Nathan asked nervously, as his knee bobbed up and down while looking at the Doctor's every move.
Dr. Conn smiled, "Yes, no worries."
Suddenly, the sound of a heavy heart beat filled the room, causing Haley's eyes to fill with water.
"That's our baby, Nathan!" Haley cried.
"Actually... it's the sound of two healthy and strong heartbeats." Dr. Conn said with a tenacious smile.
"Well that's good." Nathan nodded. "I'm glad Haley has a healthy heart, too." He joked lightly.
"Well if you're including Haley, then that would be three." Dr. Conn smiled.
Nathan furrowed his brows- obviously confused- and Haley gasped in shock.
"Oh my god!" She laughed euphorically. "We're having twins?" She asked.
Dr. Conn nodded happily, "Yes you're pregnant with twins. Congratulations!"
Once the shock wore off, Nathan smiled brightly. "Twins! Hales! We're having twins!" Nathan announced cheerfully. "Oh my god!" He laughed. "This is great!"
Haley smiled so wide, her cheeks started to hurt. Nathan then leaned down and placed a passionate kiss on his wife's lips.
"God, I love you so much!" He exclaimed.
"I love you too!" Haley cried tears of joy.
"I still can't believe we had twins." Haley marveled with a glimmering smile.
"It was a two for one deal." Nathan laughed.
Haley chuckled out loud and snuggled closer to Nathan. "I still don't know how it happened. I mean no one in either of our families had twins..."
"It was probably because we made love like twelve times that night." Nathan winked.
Haley felt her cheeks burn. "Nathan!"
"What? It's true." He smiled. "You just can't stay away from me."
"'Cuz I love you more than you'll ever know." Haley whispered into his chest.
"Mhm. I love you too baby." Nathan said breathlessly.
"So I was thinking.." Haley began, as she lifted her head off of his chest.
"Yeah?" Nathan asked.
"Well everything good in our life happened at Holden Beach, but there's still one thing that hasn't happened yet." She said with a giddy smile.
"Yeah? What's that?"
"Well it seems like you got your wish." Haley laughed softly.
"What do you mean?" Nathan asked.
"You wanted five kids, didn't you?" She asked with a quirked eye brow, causing Nathan's eyes to widen. "Now we can tell this baby that we found out we were pregnant with him or her, right here in this cabin."
Nathan smiled, and rolled on top of Haley while looking into her eyes. "You're pregnant again?" He laughed with an infectious smile.
Haley nodded, "I think so." She said with a huge smile.
Nathan cheered loudly, and leaned down to press a loving kiss on Haley's lips.
"God, I love you!" He whispered.
"I love you too, Nathan Scott. Always and forever."
