Chapter 8

It had been a tough week, but after finally laying down on a beach chair with a tropical drink in hand, Olivia finally felt like she was able to relax.

The host club had decided to take a miniature vacation that weekend, and they were spending a day at one of the water parks owned by the Ootori family. The twins were in the middle of the vast pool throwing a beach ball back and forth, and Mori and Honey were playing around in the shallow water as Honey pointed up at the tropical birds in awe. Tamaki was dramatically explaining something to a very disinterested Haruhi. And lastly, Kyoya was sitting in a lounge chair adjacent to Olivia's, also sipping at a tropical drink.

Man, if I were actually that shallow, I'd be friends with Kyoya just to hang out at this place all the time! Olivia thought to herself, taking a sip of her ice cold mango drink. She looked down at her body, which was only covered by a swimsuit.

She thought back to when they first arrived. Olivia had followed the twins and Haruhi to the women's bathroom, where the twins had thrown Haruhi in to choose a swimsuit against her will. She thought it was a little odd, but she only followed to pick out a swimsuit of her own. She hoped that Haruhi would decide to swim after all; Olivia didn't want to be the only girl swimming.

Olivia eventually chose a simple navy suit with light blue trim. She emerged from the room before Haruhi, so Olivia waited until Haruhi came out. She was wearing a frilly pink suit with a matching cap. Olivia stifled her laughter as Tamaki turned bright red.

Sadly, Tamaki handed Haruhi a pullover and a pair of shorts, saying something about "showing too much skin before shes married." Tamaki told Olivia the same thing, and Olivia stuck her tongue out at Tamaki.

"Excuse you, it's way too fucking hot out here; I'm allergic to the heat. I'll wear what I want," she said simply, before walking off with Haruhi and the twins.

Olivia had gotten her drink and taken a seat next to Kyoya. But, the peace was short lived. The twins had followed her to her chair and they had matching grins on their faces.

"Hey, Kyoya," Kaoru sneered, "Don't you think Olivia looks great in her swimsuit?"

"Yeah, she picked it out herself. She has a great eye," Hikaru agreed.

Olivia set her drink down and began to stare angrily at the twins. Olivia momentarily glanced at Kyoya to see that his cheeks had a slight pink tint to them. Olivia felt her own cheeks start to burn as well.

"What do you think, Kyoya?" They said in unison.

Kyoya sighed and ignored them, as did Olivia. She wanted to yell at them to go away, but she had vowed to relax, so she stayed silent. After a few seconds without reaction the twins got bored, and they left to pester Haruhi.

"Hey, Haruhi, do you want to come check out the water slides with us?" Hikaru asked. Haruhi had been wandering around the pool's edge for a few minutes by herself, just staring around at the trees and birds.

"No, thanks. Water slides aren't really my idea of fun." Haruhi explained

"Can you even swim?" Kaoru questioned.

"I think I can swim just as well as the next guy, but I'm just not very interested in this place, and I'd rather just go home than goof around here swimming." Haruhi sighed, "What's so great about this overblown facility anyway? A vinyl pool should be all you need for playing in the water."

"What's a vinyl pool?" The twins asked in unison, staring at each other quizzically.

Haruhi went off into a rant trying to explain vinyl pools to the twins and Tamaki, who had recently joined in on the conversation.

Meanwhile, Kyoya and Olivia were sitting next to each other at a table sipping at their juices, "Your family must be very nice for them to let us come here on our own." Olivia stated plainly.

"Oh, they aren't. The park hasn't opened yet. They had us come here to try it out and give suggestions before they open it next month," Kyoya replied.

Olivia looked at Kyoya in horror, "So we're your guinea pigs?" She blurted.

Kyoya just looked at her and nodded. She shook her head in disgust and got up. She walked over to the lazy river and sat and watched Mori and Honey swim.

"Livvy, come swim with me!" Honey exclaimed once he saw Olivia at the edge of the pool.

Olivia simply nodded and exchanged places with Mori. She watched as Mori walked over to Haruhi and took a sip of the drink she had handed him. Olivia and Honey just sat there for a while, splashing each other and swimming against the current together.

Even though she was a guinea pig, Olivia liked it here. It was peaceful, everyone just sitting around and having fun with each other. Olivia pulled herself onto the edge of the pool and observed everyone. Honey was just swimming against the slight current, Mori and Haruhi were talking, Kyoya was in his little black book as usual, and the twins and Tamaki were up to nonsense. Olivia chuckled as she watched the twins squirt Tamaki with water guns. They were just having a normal fight when Tamaki slipped on one of the twins banana peels. He dove headfirst into one of the many scattered totem poles. Olivia laughed but then a bunch of screens turned on behind the pole. Everything was eerily quiet, aside from the beeping machinery. The roar of ocean waves in the distance overcame the beeping. Olivia looked up and saw a huge wave coming towards herself and Honey.

"Honey!" Olivia screamed as she jumped in to grab Honey before the wave crashed on top of them. Mori had started to run towards them, but it was too late. The two of them had been swept away by the water.

"Mitsukuni!" Mori yelled, swiftly making his way to the edge of the pool. However, he slipped on a banana peel and fell to the floor. As he sat up, Tamaki decided to take charge.

"Guys! Let's head after Honey and Olivia!" He announced. Tamaki pointed towards the direction of the lazy river's flow, "Let's head this way!"

Kyoya sighed as they began to run, "No, everyone, there's-"

The group ran the opposite way, "Alligators!"

Every way they turned, there were alligators roaming freely about the park.

Kyoya wrote a few notes down about the dangers of allowing alligators to walk around the park, and snapped his pocketbook shut. He looked at the nearby map of the park, calmly finding Honey and Olivia's predicted location. Despite his cool and collected exterior, his mind was in a panic and his heart was racing.

Kyoya took a deep breath, "I presume that they landed somewhere around here, about eight hundred meters away. We will have to go through this southern jungle to get to them," He said, pointing at various locations on the map.

"Alright! This is a rescue mission, team!" Tamaki announced, "We must go rescue Honey and Olivia!"

The group had gone in the direction Kyoya had come up with, but they had been walking for fifteen minutes and neither Honey or Olivia had been found. Kyoya employed his family's private police force to perform a search, and there was no news from them either.

Kyoya couldn't imagine what he would do if Olivia was injured within his family's park; he wouldn't have been able to live with the guilt. Kyoya was not familiar with the sensation of guilt, and he definitely did not want to become more acquainted with it.

He was so caught up in his own worried thoughts that he didn't notice another banana peel on the ground, and he slipped. Mori was also engrossed in his thoughts, and he tripped over Kyoya, falling as well. Kyoya got up and brushed himself off, as did Mori.

"Wow," Hikaru said, "they must be really worried."

"They're acting as clumsy as you, Tamaki," Kaoru added.

Before Tamaki could make an angry reply, they were interrupted by rain. There were only a few drops, but seconds later it turned into a downpour.

Luckily there was a small grass hut nearby where they could take shelter. The twins were teasing Tamaki and Haruhi was trying to comfort Mori. Kyoya took out his phone and dialed one of the head officers of the private police force. There still wasn't any sight of either of them. Kyoya hung up and sighed. It had been a few minutes since the storm began, and Kyoya was tired of waiting around. He decided to go look for Olivia himself. He wordlessly left the hut, despite the calls of his friends once they noticed him take his leave. He wanted Olivia to be found as soon as possible, and it wouldn't happen if he was just standing around.

Olivia had passed out due to the impact of the wave and she found herself lying near the edge of the pool. Olivia woke up when the rain began, the raindrops falling on her face roused her from her unconsciousness. Her friends were nowhere to be found by the pool, so she wandered into the forest. She had been walking around for a while, searching for Honey and the rest of her friends.

The unrelenting rain had made Olivia quite cold, as all she was wearing was her swimsuit. Her arms were clasped over her chest in a small attempt to warm up. Her throat was sore from calling her friends names; she had given that up a while before. She finally admitted to herself that she was lost, so she stopped walking.

Olivia found a tree with some coverage from the rain, and she sat down under it. She pulled her knees to her chest and rested her forehead on them. Moments later she started to cry. She was lonely and cold and she just wanted to be found. The salty tears mingled with the raindrops on her bare legs. Although logic told her that she was going to be found eventually, something in the back of her mind convinced her that all hope was lost.

Kyoya had been searching for Olivia on his own for a short time, but he had already begun to become impatient and more nervous than before. Now that he was alone, his calm cover was gone and he was frantically searching for her.

"Olivia!" He called her name every few seconds, his voice strained and desperate. His voice had gone hoarse after a few minutes and he couldn't call for her any longer. Surely she would have heard him at some point, but the lack of response had led his mind to jump to the worst possible conclusions.

He stepped on a twig, and it snapped in half. The cracking sound of the stick was followed by a high pitched yelp, and a few sorrowful sniffs. Kyoya's heart lept, and he tried to call Olivia's name again.

"Olivia!" He managed to get out, quickly running in the direction the scream came from. He found her seconds later, huddled under a tree, shivering and whimpering. She looked up and saw Kyoya standing in front of her. She stood and before she could get a word out, he had his arms wrapped tightly around her.

Olivia put her arms around Kyoya's waist and buried her face in his shoulder. He was soaking wet, but he was still warm.

He loosened his grip to look down at her, "You're not injured?"

"No, Kyoya, I'm fine," She said.

"Then why were you crying?" He questioned.

"I thought that no one was going to find me," she admitted. Olivia smiled a little, embarrassed by the reason. He pulled her closer to him.

"Of course I was going to find you. I wasn't going to stop until you were safe," he replied. Kyoya leaned down and kissed her hair, "I'm so relieved that I've found you. I don't know what I would have done if you were hurt."

Olivia looked up at him. She opened her mouth to reply but he leaned down and kissed her. He moved his hand up to cup her cheek gently. His hand was warm and his lips were warm and Olivia instantly felt his warmth surge through her. She returned the kiss, pressing her hands to the small of his back. She didn't care that it was raining, she didn't care that they were in the middle of nowhere, she didn't care that she was supposed to hate him; she wanted to stay like this forever.

They pulled away for air and Kyoya looked down at Olivia, and his eyes met hers. He sighed and took a deep breath.

"Olivia, there's something I need to tell you," Kyoya murmured, "Ever since you arrived at Ouran, there's been something about you. I could not put my finger on it. We teased each other constantly, so I assumed that something was annoyance or slight hatred. But that wasn't it. I first realized what it was when you played that piano solo, and the days following it up until now only proved it. I realized my true feelings for you. I love you, Olivia."

Olivia felt tears form again in her eyes, and she smiled at Kyoya.

"Olivia, you're crying again. Are you alright?" He started to panic. The first time he kissed her, she cried and it didn't end well. The last thing he wanted was to make her sad again, "I'm so sorry," he said quickly.

Olivia laughed, "No, you moron. I feel the same way. I love you too, Kyoya," Her arms found his shoulders and she got on her tiptoes to reach his lips.

They pulled apart and Kyoya rested his forehead on Olivia's. They stayed like that for a while before Kyoya spoke up.

"The twins are right, though; you do look stunning in that swimsuit," Kyoya said with his signature sly smirk. Olivia quirked her lips in a mock angry frown.

"Shut up," she replied, playfully hitting his arm. After a few beats of silence, Kyoya's smirk morphed into a soft smile.

"Olivia, will you be my girlfriend?" Kyoya asked, a small smile on his lips. Olivia wiped the tears from her cheeks and smiled back.

"Of course, Kyoya," Olivia rested her head on Kyoya's chest and sighed, "Of course."

"How do you think the others will react?" Kyoya asked after a few moments.

"Well..., we could just not tell them?" Olivia suggested.

"Not tell who what?" Kyoya and Olivia quickly jumped away from one another as the group of hosts appeared beside them. They had followed the path that Kyoya made during his distraught search for Olivia. Honey was sitting on Mori's shoulders, seemingly uninjured and safe.

"Olivia's fear of bugs," Kyoya replied, almost instantly. Olivia looked up at him, surprised, and a little annoyed, "She doesn't want any of you to know about her irrational fear of insects."

"Kyoya!" Olivia exclaimed. She could feel her cheeks heating up. Kyoya glanced down at her and gave her a small smirk.

"Aw, Olivia!" Tamaki cooed, "You don't have to be embarrassed by your fear of bugs! Bugs are quite scary..."

"Well, since we're all back together, we should all probably go home. The sun is setting," Haruhi said. Kyoya and Olivia glanced up, they had been so engrossed in their own conversation before that they hadn't noticed that the rain had stopped, or that the sky had shifted to a beautiful orange and pink sunset.

"Next, we should go to the beach!" Honey exclaimed.

"No! Haruhi wouldn't be interested in that!" Tamaki retorted.

"Actually, I wouldn't mind going to the beach...," Haruhi said.

"That would be pretty fun, to be honest," Olivia added.

Olivia was accompanied by Kyoya on the ride home, and for a while they sat in a comfortable silence. Olivia was about to fall asleep when Kyoya spoke up.

"Livvy, would you like to come over for dinner this week?" Kyoya suggested. Olivia turned to him and smiled.

"I'd love that, Four-Eyes," she replied sleepily. Olivia promptly yawned and curled up close to Kyoya, laying her head on his shoulder. Moments later, she was snoring quietly. It wasn't long until Kyoya followed.

Olivia's Blog - Day 8

The visit to the water park, turned out to be a very unusual trip. It was relaxing at first, sitting around and watching the guys goof around, swimming occasionally, and just hanging out. However, things got out of hand. Apparently, the host club's visit was a test run, and let's just say, there are some kinks they need to work out. It turned from a great, relaxing trip to a really scary one. Although, I wouldn't say that I wouldn't do it again. Some very good things came out of this disastrous trip. More on that later.

Wish me luck!
