This chapter is a temporary fix for this chapter as it was deleted almost a year ago. I've still haven't had the time to properly finish it.

Chapter 16: The Forgotten Past (Part 2 Final)

"Night Shadow…I'm so sorry…" Sapphirine whispered, comforting Night Shadow as she held his gun for him.

"He forced me to do it…I can't believe he forced me to…to…"

Night Shadow started to shed tears once again as he slowly walked with Blue's body.

"He was such a good friend and soldier….It's only right that I give him a proper burial like the others. And speaking about the others, I wonder if they found the elements yet."

Night Shadow clicked on his earpiece.

"Callidus, come it, did you find the Sixth element…"

There was no response, making Night Shadow worried.

"He always responds..." Night Shadow whispered. "Callidus, Elegit, anyone, come it. Did you find the element?"

Night Shadow paused in his tracks, completely in shock before he darted to the exit.

"Night Shadow, wait!" Sapphirine cried out, following him.

The grown mare watched Night Shadow leave the tower and take a sharp turn left. She quickly followed but when she caught up to him on the outside, she was instantly put in a state of complete shock. What surrounded the tower were hundreds, perhaps even thousands of dead ponies, alicorns, and other races. But what shocked her the most was when she saw Night Shadow approach a small hill covered in blood. Sapphirine quickly ran to Night Shadow and stood beside him.

"Night Shadow…are you…no…"

There were no words to be spoken at what she saw as Night Shadow dropped to his knees, setting Blue's body aside. She looked at Filia, Callidus, Tremor and the others before shedding tears and crying. They were all on the ground covered in their own blood…lifeless.

"Sapphirine…leave this place while you still can…" Night Shadow said, shedding tears.

"Night Shadow?" A weak voice whispered.

"Elegit?" Night Shadow asked, trying to hold back more tears.

"Please…come closer…" Elegit said.

Night Shadow walked over and held Elegit's head off of the ground.

"I'm going to get you out of here."

"No…it's too late for that my friend. It's too late for that…

"Elegit…who did this to you?"

"Herus…he came and slaughtered all of us and took the elements…he going after the Midnight now…" He whispered. "You…you have to stop him."

"But you were six of the greatest soldiers I've ever known…what could I possibly do?" Night Shadow asked, closing his eyes.

Elegit slowly put his hoof onto Night Shadow's shoulder and smiled softly.

"You are the hero this world needs…the light in the darkness…the one that Blaze mentioned in the prophecy…"

"No I'm not, Elegit…I have no special powers…no special purpose…"

"You have so much more then that…you have…hope…"

Elegit slowly started to close his eyes.

"Good luck my old friend…I'm sorry I-I couldn't…sa…"

Night Shadow remained silent as his best friend died in his hooves with a smile. Night Shadow continued to shed tears as the wind blew past the field until he suddenly looked up into the clouds and shook with anger.

"HEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUSSSSSSSSSS!" Night Shadow screamed, sending out an echo throughout the field.

He crashed his hooves into the dirt, sending cracks throughout the soiled ground as steam emitted from the stallion's body. He then looked at Sapphirine with a sorrowful glance.

"Leave this place and don't look back…I'll come find you when this is over…I promise…"

"But what about-

"GO!" Night Shadow shouted in anger.

Sapphirine hesitated to leave, but turned around and ran, disappearing into the forest from which they came. Night Shadow looked around one last time, seeing everything he had accomplished completely destroyed before him.

"Mico, Tremor, Legio…Filia, Callidus, Elegit…and even you Blaze…I will get him for this…I promise you…I will make him pay for everything he's done. I…I…"

Night Shadow broke down and started to cry loudly into his hooves. It was then that the rest of Herus' army emerged from the forest to surround Night Shadow. They all pointed their guns at him as a familiar black gryphon and minotaur emerged from the group.

"Hahaha, so your friends lay dead before you as we had planned." Black Hawk mocked, landing next to him and pointing his spear at Night Shadow's neck. "Now here you are, surrounded by thousands of soldiers ready to end your miserable life like I did to your friends."

Zanlamin snorted as stood before his army, growing impatient.

"You know Night Shadow, you really should have been there when Herus and I slowly killed off each one as they slowly begged for their lives. HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Night Shadow slowly shook with anger as the clouds suddenly got darker. Lightning could be seen from above as it lit the sky.

"Hurry up and finish him off, Herus seems to be having fun as it is up there without us!" Zanlamin said, looking up. "I want to kill some damn alicorns to you know!"

"Take a good look at your friends…" The gryphon whispered, angling his spear as Night Shadow's neck and ignoring his partner. "Know that it was it by your very own actions that put them to death just like we will do to your stupid mare friend!"

Lightning cracked against the sky as he stabbed Night Shadow with the spear, but it didn't pierce his skin. The Gryphon watch in complete shock as Night Shadow glowed bright purple, lighting the entire field in…energy.

"Wha…what the…" Black Hawk said in panic before backing up.

As soon as he tried to stab the stallion again, the spear was caught Night Shadow's hooves. Black Hawk looked at the Night Shadow as the purple aura increased around him, making his eyes glow purple. Night Shadow suddenly took on a look of pure rage as he exploded with purple energy for the first time in his life, screaming so loudly that it could be heard for miles. Black Hawk was quickly blown back as he crashed into the dirt before his army, watching in pure shock. A purple light came down from the clouds to envelope Night Shadow in power as lightning crashed all around the field he stood on, cracking the ground and creating a huge earthquake. A large purple bubble formed around the enraged pony as he continued to scream out, unlocking what he had hidden deep within his heart...the ability to control energy.

The bubble soon faded, leaving Night Shadow in the middle of an entire army with nothing but his hooves. The army looked around in complete terror as they looked to Black Hawk and Zanlamin.

"I don't care what just happened! KILL THE LITTLE PONY AND LEAVE NOTHING LEFT!" Black Hawk cried.

The entire army charged at Night Shadow, causing the ground to shake from the running. Night Shadow slowly looked up before standing onto his hind-hooves. He quickly summoned two large balls into his hooves and fired them to his sides with a shout, sending huge waves of purple energy that decimated over half the army in seconds. He then summoned another ball and slammed it into the ground, sending out an earthquake of power that killed another third of the army. Night Shadow then launched forward faster than the blink of an eye and took on each soldier one-by-one with just his hooves.

Black Hawk and Zanlamin felt a wave of horror pass over them as Night Shadow slaughtered their army in blinding fast speeds. It got to the point where they couldn't even see the pony until he appeared before them and snapped a guard's neck.

"KILL HIM NOW!" Black Hawk screamed, sending out his elite units.

Five ponies stepped forward and lunged at Night Shadow quickly to finish the job, but Night Shadow was quicker by a long shot. He ducked under the first one with ease and punched a hole through his stomach. He then fired an energy ball at the pony behind him, vaporizing him into ash before ripping out his hoof to back-hoof punch the pony behind him. Quickly spinning around to dodge a sword attack, he split the swords pony in half with just a kick. Night Shadow stood still as he stared at the last pony with his same, angered expression.

The pony dropped his weapon in fright and ran into the woods, but Night Shadow didn't care. He pointed his hoof to the direction he ran and fired a bolt of energy. Seconds later, a scream was heard before the forest imploded and then exploded violently.

"Zanlamin…end him." Black Hawk ordered.

The minotaur ran forward, swinging his axe at full strength. The axe indeed made contact, but just with Night Shadow's hood instead of his head, forcing it to break. The axe head could be seen flying off before it chopped right through a tree. The minotaur had a look of fear just before an energy blast blew a clean hole through his stomach. As he fell to his knees, Night Shadow walked over, grabbed his throat and ripped it out. As he bleed all over the pony, Night Shadow put his hoof out and casually pushed his head, knocking him onto his back.

"NO, NO, GET AWAY FROM ME YOU DEMON!" Black Hawk screamed.

Black Hawk became so afraid that he actually unfolded his wings and darted into the sky. The gryphon smirked as he flew off, thinking he was going to get away. He couldn't have been more wrong as Night Shadow suddenly appeared before him and kicked him right to the ground below, sending up a huge pillar of dirt and rocks. The gryphon, somehow surviving, lifted up his head with a look of plea.

"Night Shadow, I know what I said about killing your friends, but I actually didn't mean it or do it! Please, I can help you take down Herus and let you have all his power! I-I'm sorry for what I did and-

Night Shadow heard enough as he summoned a huge purple ball into his hooves and launched it at the gryphon.

"NIGHT SHADOW, YOU SON OF A-

The ball crashed into the gryphon and exploded, sending a huge shock wave throughout the field and forest. The red pony slowly landed onto the ground as the smoke cleared, seeing noting alive in sight. He suddenly vanished to a nearby cave and sighed.

"My friends and Blue are just where I left them." He whispered, looking at his glowing hoof. "This power…it's incredible…and it's enough to end the nightmare once and for all."

He looked up into the dark clouds as lightning continued to flash across the sky.

"So the great alicorn city of Sanctam Civitatem is up there, right above where the sixth element was…how thoughtful of them…" Night Shadow whispered, hearing thunder crack across the sky.

Rain started to fall heavily onto the ground as more lightning crashed down to the earth.

"I'm coming for you Herus…and this time…it will be you who dies at the feet of your enemy."

Five minutes before

Herus and his army of over ten thousand stood before the floating alicorn city made of pure gold. The surrounding area itself, by some sort of magic, was in the dark void of space. The sun, moon, and stars covered the sky as each army stood upon a large field of clouds. Herus watched in amusement as hundreds of alicorns flew out of the city to form a defensive line before him. Each one was armed with either a sword, spear, dagger, or any other weapon imaginable except guns used by their enemies.

"Soon, the whole world will forget the race of the alicorns and remember the rise of the rebellion. They will remember the heroic victory of their leader as he brought down their empire in the final battle for domination…" Herus said evilly, laughing softly. "This is where they were born and this is where they will die…and it is here that the whole world will fear my name."

Meanwhile, Celestia stood with her father on the front line, giving him a concerned look.

"Father, don't go out there and face him alone! You can't face him alone!" She cried.

"I have to…if I defeat him here and now their forces will retreat and we can finally put an end to his reign."

"Dad, if he kills you now, he will just destroy the city like the others before it. Father, I beg of you, if we have to fight we do it together."

"Celestia, you are the heir to the throne…go back inside with your mother and stay safe."

"No…no dad…I'm staying right here by your side!" Celestia shouted with bravery.

"Guards, escort her back inside the walls…"

The guards grabbed her quickly, starting to pull her back inside the city.

"DAD, YOU CAN'T DO THIS, PLEASE, HE'LL KILL YOU IF YOU DO THIS!" She screamed, shedding tears. "DAAAAD!"

The two guards closed the gate, preventing her voice from being heard anymore.

"I love you Celestia…always remember that…"

Several guards walked over to Midnight and started to attach his royal armor to his body.

"Peace is nothing more than a lie…there is only passion."

His armor for his fore-legs and hind-legs where attached.

"Through passion I gain strength."

The armor for his body was locked in place.

"Through strength I gain power."

The guards attached his royal cape to his back

"Through power I gain victory."

Midnight's neck was then covered with golden armor.

"Through victory our chains are broken."

He closed his eyes and put on his helmet. A servant then walked over and handed him his double bladed gold Bardiche.

"It it will set us free."

He spun around his weapon before slamming it into the clouds.

"Stallions and mares…it's been an honor being your king."

He started to walk forward to the middle of the battleground where Herus stood before teleporting to his location. After thirty seconds of additional walking, he stood before Herus.

"So…after so long…you finally brought the war to our doorstep." Midnight Astral declared.

"Only for it to end in your defeat." Herus replied.

"Then draw your weapon and let's finish this!" Midnight declared, pointing his weapon at Herus.

Herus laughed as he extended his left arm, summoning nearby shadows before a large, two handed claymore appeared in his hand. He then crossed his sword with Midnight's spear, smirking evilly as he kept his right hand to the side.

"Make your first move…work horse." Herus mocked, slightly bowing.

Midnight spun around and quickly swung his weapon at Herus' side. A sharp clang was heard as a wave of wind swept over the field. Midnight became shocked as he witnessed Herus block his attack with ease. The alicorn jumped back, repositioning himself for another attack. Herus, on the other hand, went back to his bowing stance. Midnight ran forward and stabbed at his target, only for it to be redirected to the side by Herus' sword.

The alicorn quickly pulled back his Bardiche and began to rapidly attack Herus with all sorts of moves with the same results as before. Upon one of his rapid strikes, the weapon's pole was grabbed, stopping the alicorns assault before he was kicked forward. Herus slowly walked forward, holding the kings weapon in his right hand.

"Do you think this is a joke, Midnight? Have you forgotten that I have slain your best soldiers with ease?" He asked, tossing the weapon to him. "Now get up, swallow your pride, and fight me at full power!"

Midnight grabbed the weapon with his magic, levitating himself slowly back to his hooves.

"You dare mock me demon…" The alicorn asked, narrowing his eyes.

Herus lowered his sword to his side, opening himself up for an attack.

"If I am…then raise your weapon…and meet your end…"

Midnight eyes flashed blue as the darkness of the night surrounded the king. The moon shone brightly before its light shined brightly into the alicorn, making him have a faint, blue aura. His wings flared out as he suddenly appeared in front of Herus, attacking him twice as fast as before. Herus began to smile as he continued to block each attack with his sword, angering the alicorn. Midnight then took the initiative to charge his horn, readying a stronger attack.

"If you think magic will work on my, Midnight, then you are just as foolish as your younger daughter."

"What did you say?!" Midnight demanded, crashing his weapon into Herus' sword.

"Your daughter fought bravely I must admit…but even she meet her fate at my hands…and she was so sure of herself to, but even the strongest among you will perish into darkness…"

Midnight shook in anger as he continued to unleash his rage at Herus.

"I swear to you Herus that I will bring you to your end, one way or another!" The alicorn proclaimed, building up his magic.

"Many have tried…none have succeeded, and neither will you."

"Then I will be the first and the last!"

Midnight vanished behind Herus and fired his built up magic, sending out a large wave of blue light. The smoke cleared, showing a large chunk of Herus' army suddenly gone behind the dark figure, but Herus himself remained unfazed.

"Attacking my army without finishing the duel…fine, be that way…"

Herus pointed his right hand at Midnight, charging a large dark purple and black ball. Midnight managed to dodge just before he fired, but then he realized what he had done. He turned around to witness that one-fifth of his army had suddenly been disintegrated by the blast. It was then that Midnight realized the true extent of Herus' power. The alicorn then glared behind Herus to see that all of the soldier's eyes were glowing purple and emitting dark smoke. Herus extended his arm forward, giving the signal.

"Take them…" Herus whispered as his hand glowed.

The entire army shrieked in a war cry, charging forward like a stampede of mad bulls. Before Midnight could give an order to his own army, he was kicked into a faint, purple dome, cutting of any connections with the outside. Herus slowly entered the small magical dome, dragging his sword onto the cloud floor.

"Without a king, a country is hopeless in war. Without a leader, an army crumbles." Herus said, positioning his sword to attack. "And without a ruler, a new one rises to take his place…"

The two leaders readied themselves for a final fight as Herus' army slowly closed in on their location, heading straight to the city. They both lunged at each other and attacked with their weapons, only this time, Herus wasn't on the defensive. Every hit Midnight blocked felt like an earth shattering blow as the vibrations ripped throughout his body. Eventually, they locked their weapons together, bringing the two fights faces only inches away from each other.

"The sun shall dawn upon this new day, and you will be left in its past." Herus declared.

"Where there is darkness there is light, Herus! A light which you have not discovered yet…and it frightens you to no end."

"And thus the truth dawns on why you and your entire race must be destroyed."

"…So the prophecy is true…"

"No, Midnight…because I will erase it from existence."

With a quick swipe, Midnight's weapon was flung out his magical grip and impaled itself into the clouds. Midnight quickly grabbed the collar of Herus' clothing as started to choke him as Herus' army finally reached them, stampeding by.

"Then, until my last dying breath, I will fight to ensure its fulfillment!"

"Then let us begin."

Time slowed down for Midnight as he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest. He looked down to see a black, glowing dagger impaled through his armor and body. The alicorn coughed up blood before throwing Herus into the domes wall. He started to breath heavily as the miasma invaded his heart, forcing his vision to become blurry. With one quick movement, the king grabbed the dagger and yanked it out of his chest, screaming loudly as he did.

Herus charged forward and slashed at Midnight, sending pieces of his armor off and sending the pony crashing into the faint wall. The alicorn slowly got up and stood to his hooves, grabbing his weapon with his magic. The two resumed to fight again for another ten seconds until the pain rang through Midnight once again. The alicorns attacks started to lose power and speed as Herus continued to beat around the pony until most of Midnight's armor had been ripped off.

"I can't lose here…I have to beat him…" Midnight whispered, reading himself again.

As Midnight charged forward he was suddenly grabbed by the neck and hoisted up into the air with Herus' right hand. Midnight brought back his weapon to strike Herus, but it was too late. The pony was then stabbed in the stomach clean through with Herus' black sword, dropping his weapon with a cry of pain. Midnight, still having strength, grabbed the sword and ripped it out of Herus' hand. The dark pony weakly pulled the blade from his stomach and held it in his hooves. With one final attack, Midnight darted forward and stabbed Herus in his chest.

The two remained frozen until Herus absorbed the sword and grabbed Midnight by the throat once again, holding him close to his face.

"Long live the king…"

A loud gunshot was heard as Herus' dropped the alicorn king to the ground. Herus then picked him up and positioned him to face the city he owned. He saw his army slowly diminish before his eyes, but what saddened him the most Celestia crying before the magical field, attempting to break it with her hooves. His vision blurred once more as he saw his daughter cry out for him but there was nothing he could do. Midnight's eyes started water as he looked at his daughter for the last time.

"Celestia…I'm so sorry…forgive me…" He said, hearing the hammer of the gun being pulled back.

It was over in an instant as the gun went off. As Midnight hit the floor slowly, Celestia cried out in sadness as she smashed her hooves into the wall and slowly slid down to the floor. When she looked up, she saw Herus standing above her, pointing his gun at her head.

"It's sad to see those you care about go…but I can't allow your race to live anymore." Herus said, pulling back the hammer. "Goodbye Celestia…maybe your purpose in death can be just as great as it was in life."

Celestia closed her eyes, losing all hope until a bright purple flash of light erupted around her. The gun went off, but she was still alive. She looked up to see a red hoof had redirected Herus' aim, forcing him to fire to the side. She blinked again to see that the red pony was glowing bright purple as he faced Herus' with an angry glaze.

"Night Shadow? I thought-

"Today we set aside our differences and fight as one as I deal with a common enemy." Night Shadow declared.

Celestia couldn't explain it, but something was different. He seemed so confident and sure of himself. Before she could even ask, Celestia was teleported back into the safety of the city.

"Celestia, we have to evacuate while we still can." Sunlit Aura said, grabbing her daughter's hoof.

The battle continued to rage on as Herus and Night Shadow appeared in the midst of the field. Night Shadow cleared the area of enemies with magic as Herus did the same until an imaginary dueling circle was formed.

"You killed all my friends, Herus, and now I'm here to end it all!" Night Shadow shouted.

"You actually think you can kill me, little pony. You're just another child soldier with a big ego and a gun."

"Not anymore!" Night Shadow yelled, summoning more energy to his body.

"HAHAHAHAHAH, magic, really…have you learned, I am immune to-

Herus was then blasted by a purple energy ball, forcing him to cry out in pain as his skin was scorched by the blast. He clenched his chest with his hand as he regenerated himself with his magic.

"How! That's impossible!" Herus panicked. "I CAN'T BE AFFECTED BY MAGIC!"

"It's not magic, Herus. It the rage from my heart in living form! The anger of my friends and the strength of those that you have killed. AND I WILL USE IT TO FINALLY DESTROY YOU!"

"No pony has ever defeated me in battle…and won't let it start now!"

Herus put away his gun and started to charge his dark magic. Night Shadow wouldn't have any of it though. He appeared next to Herus and jammed his elbow into his back and kneed him in the stomach at the same time. Herus grit his teeth before he was kicked across the face, crashing into the clouds. Once he got up, Night Shadow swept his feet, forcing him to fall as he was flip-kicked into the sky. As Herus forced himself to abruptly stop in mid air, Night Shadow appeared ten feet above him and blasted Herus back into the clouds with a large beam of energy.

A large purple pillar of purple energy could be seen for throughout the entire battle field as the wave decimated anything nearby in a huge explosion of power and might. A few seconds went by until a stream of black smoke flew past Night Shadow, reforming into Herus as he shot a ray of black smog. The red stallion dodged to the left as the wave flew into the sky and fired back, but Herus had vanished.

"You can fool me anymore, Herus…" Night Shadow whispered.

Night Shadow spun around and punched Herus in the stomach as soon as he reappeared. He then grabbed the dark leader around the neck and put him in a choke hold as he rocketed back down into the clouds, smashing him into the ground in another big explosion. Herus managed to kick Night Shadow off as he jumped out of the hole in the cloud, roughly landing beside it. Herus, becoming infuriated, dashed forward, grabbed Night Shadow's neck, and slammed him into the clouds with a slight spin.

"Even with this new found power, you can't defeat me!" Herus proclaimed.

Herus' dark magic slowly started to emerge from his body, covering Night Shadow as he kept his grip on the pony. Night Shadow pushed forward, showing the dark power of miasma back into the dark leader in a burst of energy, forcing him off. The red pony jumped to his hooves and unleashed a barrage of energy bolts that caused Herus to panic and use his arms to block. Thousands of bolts were launched until a large cloud of smoke formed around Herus. With a blast from his hand, Herus cleared the smoke, appearing to have taken heavy damage from the attack.

Herus' prized black trench coat and leather armor were turned to Swiss cheese, but his hood still remained on his head. This had to end one way or another with a victor and a loser. Herus reached behind, placing his hand on the handle of a two-handed great sword as Night Shadow charged up his energy once again.

"I made you a soldier, Night Shadow, and I can take it away." Herus said, darkly.

"Then by all means…try." Night Shadow said, sparking with lighting.

The two crashed into each other and vanished. They we're now going at speeds faster than the naked eye could see. If you were lucky, you could see some faint blurs of their outlines as they fought each other in the sky. Each clash sent a huge shockwave across the field, dispersing any nearby clouds until finally; they collided into each other in the middle of the battlefield. Night Shadow had caught Herus' sword in his mouth, holding in place.

Herus struggled, even having to use his other hand to try to get his weapon back. The red pony gave Herus a smirk of pride as he snapped the sword with just his mouth and then blast Herus back with a beam of purple light. When the dark leader finally stopped, he was right on the edge of the cloud, anymore distance and he would have fallen to the ground miles below.

"So it's come to this…" Herus whispered, slowly levitating himself into the sky. "This is on your head, Night Shadow..."

Once Herus was a good distance in the sky, he raised his right hand into the air, holding it in place. Night Shadow appeared a good distance away in the sky behind the city as the armies continued to destroy one another. Night Shadow held out his right hoof, glaring at its underside. A small ball of purple energy formed around his hoof as he glared up at Herus.

"THIS IS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE THAT WE KILLED IN YOUR NAME! FOR ALL THE LAND YOU'VE TAKEN AND FOR THE TERROR YOU'VE CREATED!"

Night Shadow aura exploded in sized, lighting up the sky in purple light.

"WE WILL NO LONGER BE YOUR TOOL OF DESTRUCTION AND DECEPTION FOR YOUR ARMY! HERUS…WE QUIT!"

Night Shadow launched the purple ball like a cannon ball. It increased in size as it approached Herus, expanding to the size of a large boulder as it flew across the sky like a comet. Just when it was about to hit Herus, ending him forever and freeing the world of his influence, the ball was sucked into the small gravity field Herus created. Herus closed his eyes and smirked as he held the purple energy bomb, gaining its control. Night Shadow was overtaken with shock as he witnessed his own attack grow in size.

"Even in rebellion, you are still my puppet of desolation." Herus said, filtering dark magic into the ball.

The purple energy ball suddenly turned black and expanded with miasma, but that wasn't all. To everyone's shock, the shadows and darkness of night was quickly sucked into the ball, making it seem like night itself was absorbed into Herus' attack. The black ball was bathed in black smoke as it gave off a dim purple glow. The only thing left of Night Shadow's energy attack was now a small glowing sphere in the center of what seemed like death itself.

"Shadows of Darkness…fire…" Herus whispered, dropping his extended arm forward.

Night Shadow eyes remained glued to the black ball in horror as it flew forward and sucked him into the ball. As the miasma overtook his conscious and body, the only thought that flowed through is mind was that he had failed everyone for the last time. The alicorns and Herus' army all glared at the ball in complete terror as it headed straight towards them and the city itself, destroying anything in its path.

Sunlit Aura gazed at the ball of death from her castles balcony. A wave of sadness washed over her as she glared back at who she thought was her sole surviving child. Celestia remained frozen as she looked past her mother's shoulders with a look of complete trepidation. Sunlit Aura silently walked over to her daughter and removed her necklace, tying it around Celestia's neck. She then removed her tiara with magic and placed in on her daughter's head before hugging her for the last time.

Tears streamed down Sunlit Aura's face as she enveloped her daughter with magic.

"You are the last surviving alicorn, Celestia…the last hope for this world…"

"Mom, what are you doing?" Celestia asked with teary eyes.

"We will always be with you in your heart… and always remember that we love you…"

"Mom, no! Don't do this to me! Please don't-

In an instant, Celestia was gone, leaving her mother in the room alone. The alicorn queen looked to her right, gazing at a portrait of her family just before darkness quickly enveloped the room…and then silence…

One hour later.

"How is he still alive?" A discorded voice asked.

"No clue, but he was involved with Herus' soldiers and even faced him head to head until being stuck down." A dark voice declared.

"Well he didn't do a good job then."

"Enough, Herus believes he's dead so take him or leave him, it doesn't matter to me." A darker voice declared.

"Does he like chocolate milk?"

"Idiot!" The voice shouted, becoming angered. "Is this not what you asked for… the perfect soldier to do away with your enemies?"

"Yes it is, I just expected him to be more, you know… better kept."

"Do you want this feeble minded idiot or not!"

"Of course, he shall be taken off of your master's hooves."

"He doesn't have hooves you confused hybrid!"
