(This it the official last chapter 21 chapter. Just making that clear. Side note, a shout out to Djsoresupon3 and Guest...you're words helped me a lot.)
Chapter 21 I: Blending in
The landing was as smooth as it could be, no one expected better anyways. Lightning opened the door to the aircraft, allowing Night Shadow and Twilight to exit the vehicle. They were both shocked at what they saw once light hit their eyes. All around them were planes, helicopters, and massive hangers that housed even more planes. Looking forward, they noticed another plane slowly glide in and land on a runway, eventually coming to a stop.
"What? You two never been to an airport before?" Lightning asked with a smirk.
"What's an airport?" Night Shadow asked.
"Yeah, I was about to ask the same thing." Twilight added.
"It's basically where airplanes land and stuff, no need for major details."
"Why is it all the way out here?"
"Death Fire built it here so the air force could have a base of operations in the west. However, it's mai-
"You landed in a military base!" Night Shadow yelled.
"Let me finish!" Lightning shouted before returning to the subject. "Not exactly. Originally it was only suppose to be for Death Fire's army, but something changed his mind. The real base is a few miles north of here, where we are now is simply a civilian airport where Death Fire can transport cargo and where ponies can travel where they please…..as long as they are within a few credentials."
"Credentials?" Night Shadow asked.
"I may have worded it wrong but they basically do background checks to make sure your not going to jack the plane or do something crazy. If you don't know what airport security is like then you're going to be in for a long ride."
"But we're wanted ponies? How are we going to sneak by?" Twilight asked.
"Simple, I know a few ponies that can get us in without a problem."
"Just like that, no strings attached?" Night Shadow asked. "There has to be a catch to this."
"As I have said before, all will be made clear when you pass the test."
"Why are you keeping things secret from us?"
"Just trust me, ok."
She pulled back her hair and put on a gray hoodie, placing the hood over her head.
"Come on, we don't need to draw too much attention." Lighting said, turning around to walk towards the airport gate.
Twilight looked at Night Shadow confused.
"Just stay close to me." Night Shadow said, grabbing his bags.
Twilight did the same and followed Night Shadow through the gate doors. Once inside, they made their way to the first check in station. They stood in line for only a minute before three guards approached them.
"You three are going to have to come with us." One of the guards said.
Before Night Shadow could pull out his gun, Lighting spoke up.
"What are the charges?"
"Suspicious activity." He said, looking around with his eyes.
"Ahh, alright then. Lead the way."
As the guards walked away, Lighting turned to Night Shadow and Twilight.
"Well, are you going or not."
Night Shadow looked right into Lightning's eyes with a serious look.
"You have my trust as of now, but I warn you. If you try anything out of line I won't hesitate to-
"Night Shadow, if you won't trust her then trust me." Twilight said. "She saved us back there, remember. If she was working with Death Fire don't you think she would have made her move by now."
Night Shadow remained silent before closing his eyes and looking away to the side.
"Lead on then."
The three ponies followed the guards into a room away from the massive crowd of ponies. Once inside, one of the guards closed the door and locked it in place. The guards sighed before their disguises were removed, revealing their real fur and hair color.
"Lighting you insane $&#*$, what were you thinking just taking these two through the airport without a disguise!" One of the stallions asked.
"Ok, now I'm confused!" Night Shadow announced.
"Really? I've been lost ever since we got here." Twilight added.
"What's the deal, we're fine now." Lightning said, sitting in a chair and folding her hooves.
The stallion pulled a scroll from his jacket, unfolding it to show Lightning.
"HOLY CELESTIA!" Lighting screamed.
"Now do you understand?" The stallion asked.
"What, what are you two talking about?" Twilight asked.
The guard turned and showed both Night Shadow and Twilight what was on the poster. It was a picture of both of them on a wanted poster, wanted for five hundred billion bits apiece. Twilight was so shocked that her hair shot up from her head while her eyes became completely white. Night Shadow, on the other hand, looked at the picture of him with interest.
"That stallion has awesome hair! How did he do that?" Night Shadow asked.
"That's you for crying out loud!" Twilight yelled.
"Ohhh….now it makes sense."
"One can only imagine what a pony could obtain with a trillion bits. That is, if Death Fire was even going to award the money in the first place." The guard said.
"Even if he had that much money to give, he would never do it. He would probably just eat the poor guy who caught them as a victory dinner." Lighting said. "Only a fool or the truly desperate would believe it."
"That's not the point. The point is anyone would do anything to get that kind of money, doesn't matter who they were as long as they had something to believe."
"So we're just walking targets then." Twilight said. "Then how are we going to get around without being attacked."
"Blend in."
The guard placed two, watch like devices on the table.
"These are the tools we used to disguise ourselves." The guard said, showing them his own. "It allows you to take on the identity of anyone you wish so long as they are in a certain height range. We developed the technology after studying the changelings, however, it's not perfect. The watch may be able to change your coat and hair color, but it won't change eye color, voice, or hair style."
"Which will be a problem for Night Shadow." Another guard added. "His hair is to unique and to noticeable even if we changed it."
"Wait….don't tell me what I think you're about to say." Night Shadow said with slight panic.
"We might have to cut it."
"NO, PLEASE, ANYTHING BUT THAT!" Night Shadow begged.
The three guards and Twilight were surprised by his sudden outburst.
"Night Shadow, it's just hair, it'll grow back."
NO IT WON'T, NOT THE SAME WAY! YOU'RE NOT TOUCHING MY HAIR!" Night Shadow persisted as his eyes became blood shot.
"If you don't cut it, anyone hunting you down would spot you a mile away."
"YOU'RE JUST JEALOUS! YOU WANT MY HAIR TO YOURSELVES!"
Night Shadow backed up into a corner, hyperventilating as he whispered silently to himself.
"Why in the world would we do that! This is for your safety and the safety of Twilight. Don't you understand the risks at…."
The guards were overcome with slight confusion when they heard Night Shadow softly crying in the corner. One of them even turned to Twilight for a possible answer. Twilight would have recalled the memories of Night Shadow predicaments in the past and possibly sided with him, unfortunately, those memories were temporarily suppressed by the spell. With a simple shrug, she signalled that she had no clue why he was acting this way.
"This is ridiculous! If you three aren't going to do anything then I will!" Lightning shouted, slamming a pair of scissors on the table.
Night Shadow looked up at Lightning with a insane look.
"YOOOOOUUUUUUUUU! I KNEW YOU COULDN'T BE TRUSTED!"
"Wait, wh-
Lightning was tackled through the table by Night Shadow. Before he could throw any punches Twilight grabbed him with magic and pinned him to the wall.
"Night Shadow, calm down." Twilight pleaded. "She's just trying to help."
"LET ME GO, LET ME GOOOOO!" Night Shadow screamed.
"If he keeps acting like this he's going to alert security." One of the guards informed.
"Then knock him out." Lightning suggested.
"You act like it's easy!" Twilight yelled.
Meanwhile….
"What in the world is going on in there?" A mare asked, hearing all the racket.
"I don't think I want to know." A stallion said next to her.
A large crowd of at least thirty ponies gathered around the room, completely confused as to what was happening. They would hear yelling, pleading, and then loud thumping inside followed by muffles.
"Should someone check?"
"What are you ponies doing?!" A soldier yelled, accompanied by five machine ponies.
"Just listen for yourself."
The soldier then heard more thumping and then a loud crash inside the room. He walked to the door and kicked it open.
"WHAT's GOING ON….in…..here….."
The soldier tried to process the scene in his mind multiple times. Night Shadow and Twilight were both on the ground and covered in what looked like mysterious white fluid. Lightning was standing awkwardly with her wings flared out while the three guards had looks of pure horror and shock. When Twilight noticed the soldier at the door, she quickly pulled him in with magic and locked the door. What followed was even more muffling and thumping sounds from the room.
The five cybernetic ponies quickly got into position, activated their weapons and bashed the door off it's hinges. What they found was the soldier tied up, muffled and covered in the same white stuff as the rest of the room. However, the others were no where to be found.
"I still don't understand why there was a large bucket of vanilla frosting in a supply closet." The guard wondered.
"Hey, it calmed him down at least." Twilight said, looking back at Night Shadow.
The red stallion was busy stuffing himself with the frosting to notice or hear anything other than his greedy slurping and swallowing. In the meantime, Twilight and the others were busy cleaning themselves off by a natural hot spring.
"The docks are just down this hill, do you remember what Lightning told you?" The guard asked.
"When he asks where we're going, say where the world ends." Twilight recalled.
"Good...but you know what you have to do." The guard said, handing her a pair of scissors.
"I understand." Twilight whispered.
"Oh, before we go Twilight, take this." Lightning said, grabbing a box and placing it on the ground.
"What is it?"
"Give it to Night Shadow once it's over. He'll like it."
"And don't forget the disguise watches." Lightning reminded.
Twilight nodded.
"Good luck...may Celestia watch over you." The guards and Lightning said before vanishing within the forest.
Twilight looked back to Night Shadow and then back to the scissors, sighing deeply.
"Night Shadow, can you come over here."
Night Shadow stopped eating and looked to Twilight.
"Sure, what do you need."
"look, I don't to to this as much as you do, but I think this is for the best." Twilight said, showing Night Shadow the scissors.
"Twilight….what are you…."
"I think I understand why you're so attached to your hair. It's part of you, it makes up who you are. Being separated from it would be like me losing my horn or magic. If anyone is going to cut your hair it's going to be you. You're an adult and you know what's best for you, I won't force you to do it. But I ask of you to think about this. What's more important, your hair…..or the safety of those you love…."
Twilight placed the scissors in Night Shadow's hoof with a look of concern.
"We're not to far from the docks so take your time. I'll make sure everything is ready."
Twilight left Night Shadow alone with the scissors, giving him time to think about his choice. He walked by the hot spring water and looked at the reflection of himself, wishing there could be another choice.
"The day I meet Sapphirine was the day I found happiness, the day I would stand out from the crowd and fight for my freedom. This hair was to symbolise that….to symbolise freedom from oppression and tyranny. But Death Fire has taken away that freedom from not only me, but the rest of the world."
With magic he brought the scissors to his hair, ready to cut.
"It took seven years to grow this hair….but if I must endure seven more to end this war then so be it."
With that said he began to cut...
Twilight ran through several bushes before taking cover behind a tree. Just below the hill was the docks crawling with Death Fire's troops and hired mercenaries. The moon, continuing to shine bright red, lighting the ground around them and making them easy to spot. Then again, they were more than a thousand feet away from the cities main entrance. Perhaps they were being a little too cautious….
"Come on Night Shadow, quit falling behind." Twilight whispered.
"I look ridiculous." Night Shadow said, hiding behind a bush.
"It can't be that bad, hurry up."
"Yes it is. I look like a complete idiot."
"But you ar….*cough*... look, the sooner we get to the docks the sooner we can get out of here. This place is crawling with guards."
Night Shadow jumped out of the bush and dashed behind another one closer to Twilight.
"Everywhere we go is crawling with baddies, what's the difference?" Night Shadow asked.
"The difference is that now we have a way to get through without being spotted." Twilight informed.
"Ok...so what's the problem again?"
"We're being hunted, thousands of guards want to kill us."
"So….basically every single place we've been to?"
"...Why are you so complicated."
"How am I being complicated? I could have just beat the living twinkies out of them easily and still had my hair as a bonus, but everyone just has to be cautious."
"Coming from the guy who gets shot every time we get caught in a fight."
"Hey, it's not my fault. Stupid bullets are too fast for me."
"Or maybe you're just too slow." Twilight said with a smirk.
"Well….maybe you're mom's to slow."
"Really…"
"Yeah, Really."
"Like, really really, or like really re-
WE'VE DONE THIS JOKE BEFORE!
"Who….who was that?" Twilight asked.
"I think that was your mom." Night Shadow said with surprise.
NO YOU IDIOTS, I'M THE NARRATOR, THE GUY WHO TELLS THE STORY! YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO GET TO THE DOCKS THREE CHAPTERS AGO AND YOU'RE HERE ARGUING BEHIND A BUSH!
"Well who's fault is that now?" Night Shadow asked.
IT'S YOUR FAULT, WHY DO YOU THINK I'M YELLING!
"But you're always yelling."
GOD *# *_)#_) +_
"...I think we broke him."
"Wait, this voice is a guy?" Twilight asked.
"Eeyup."
"Interesting..."
…...can we get on with the story before I break my labtop.
"What's a laptop?" Night Shadow asked.
*Le epic sigh*
Night Shadow….knock, knock.
"Who's there?"
Interrupting cutscene.
"Interu-
"We have searched everywhere for them along the western coast. If they were to try to make an escape it would be here." A sergeant informed.
"They have no where else to go….you will have your prize by the turn of the month." A field commander told, examining a map.
"We've been given the same promises before." Eccentric said, lighting a cigar in his mouth. "What makes you so confident this time?"
"This is the only harbor of importance, the only one with transit off the mainland. No other location has a ship capable of transporting them to another country without being stranded."
"That sounds like a poor excuse." Castigate reaffirmed, counting a deck of cards.
"And suppose you're right, what then? What if they already got off the mainland?" Maneful asked.
"I doubt they found a ship that fast, Maneful." Ammisive said with confidence. "We used one of fastest jets to get here in under two hours. Not even I could fly that fast."
"I'm not underestimating them again, Ammisive!" Maneful barked. "With these two caught, we can ensure our empire victory over the world and ensure our dominance, but most importantly, we would get paid! So the last thing I need is for another slip up!"
"We're not going to mess up again, thats for certain." Stritin declared. "We all had our chance and we each failed separately. Now it's time to work together like we're suppose to."
"What is this place called anyways?" Castigate asked.
"The city as a whole is called Mare's Farewell, named so after a stallion lost his lover to the oceans unforgiving tides. The beach itself is called redsand shores because of it's red sand, if you couldn't guess. According to our scouts, the entire west coast is covered in this red sand. It would be beautiful vacation spot if it wasn't for this blasted winter." The sergeant said. "The harbor's called Shimmers Peak if that's what you're wondering."
"Continue to comb the city with the army Death Fire supplied us, but I want one-tenth of the army to search the docks." Maneful ordered.
"Yeah….about that….why did Death Fire give us a million troops again?" Eccentric asked. "You would think we were enough."
"As i said, important targets." Maneful reinforced. "He doesn't want any chances of them escaping."
"All this for two ponies?" Castigate said with a sigh. "I know it's mainly for the money, but it better have been worth missing my spotlight on Wickedly Wealthy."
"You mean that stupid t.v show with all the rich ponies showing off their crap?" Ammisive asked.
"It's not stupid….It's life!" Castigate yelled. "I was going to be featured if it wasn't for this darn mission. Now how am I going to show off my eccentric monocle collection!"
"My what and what?" Eccentric asked.
"Oh, I forgot that was your name." Castigate apologized. "It's kinda amusing when you think about it. Eccentric….it's a different name….no pun intended."
Eccentric blinked several times as he stared at his rich counterpart.
"Sometimes….just sometimes….I get the urge to squeeze random rich ponies to see if there blood is liquid gold." Eccentric said, walking up to Castigate. "And I think I'm getting that urge right about…..now."
"...help…" Castigate whispered in a high pitch tone.
"OK! That's enough you two!" Stritin said, breaking the two apart. "We don't need another incident."
Maneful picked up some red sand off of the ground, feeling it's texture before allowing it to gently fall to the ground.
"If we're going to catch these two we're going to have to be as discreet as possible…."
"YOU THESE TWO PONIES!" Castigate yelled, holding up a wanted poster.
"For the last time, NO!" A mare said with annoyance. "I don't even look like them."
"Oh yeah, you could be this red one."
"I'M A GIRL!"
"Well, it's pretty hard to tell now isn't it."
The mare slapped Castigate across the face before stomping away angrily.
"Smooth, real smooth." Ammisive said with a smirk.
"Why don't you try it then!" Castigate shouted in annoyance.
"Sure, point me to anymare and I'll have her seduced in two seconds flat." Ammisive declared.
"That's dating, not searching for wanted criminals."
"Frankly, I don't see much of a difference."
"We'll see about that."
Castigate looked over to the side and pointed to a mare looking at some cooked chicken.
"See her, go interrogate that mare." Castigate said.
"Sure...it'd will be easy."
Ammisive pulled back his mane and walked over to the mare, standing right next to her. He picked up a bucket and quickly put meat into it.
"So…...we've both got buckets of chicken…...wanna #& #."
Castigate watched in amazement as he he saw Ammisive picked up and slammed into the chicken stand. The mare mumbled a few unchoice words as she walked off in anger.
"I regret nothing…." Ammisive whispered in pain.
"How did she even do that!" Castigate yelled in shock.
"How am I suppose to know?"
Ammisive stood back up to his hooves slowly and wobbled in place.
"I can feel everything…."
He walked out onto the streets before bumping into a gray mare with red hair. The mare dropped her book back as a result, spilling its contents all over the floor.
"Oh I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-
"Hey, don't worry about it." Ammisive said, picking up her books for her. "It's my fault anyways."
"Well, that's awfully kind of you." Castigate pointed out. "What? You get sort around cute mares?" He teased.
"Don't mind him, he like to run his big mouth." Ammisive said, staring daggers at his friend.
When he reached down to pick up the last book, he noticed it was pure black with an ominous look. He held it in his hooves for a good five seconds before the mare abruptly grabbed it with nervousness.
"Don't stare at it too long, it might cause you to lose your memory." The mare said.
"What is it?" Ammisive asked.
"A family heirloom...nothing more."
Ammisive stared into the eyes of the mare and noticed it's purple color.
"I'm sorry, I really have to go…." The mare said, putting the book in her bag and running off.
Ammisive started at the mare as she turned the corner behind a building.
"She seemed in a rush." Castigate said. "I wonder what for though."
Ammisive remained frozen in place before taking off after the mare.
"Where are you going!" Castigate yelled.
The orange stallion ignored his friend as he took out his rifle, but once he turned the corner he saw that the mare had vanished. Castigate eventually caught up with him and panted softly.
"What was that about?" He asked.
"Find her now!" Ammisive yelled.
"What, why!"
"Why do you think!"
Castigate thought about it before it came to him.
"Wait here." He said, walking out into the open.
He tried his best to scan the area with magic in search for a familiar reading. After a minute, he signaled Ammisive to follow him cautiously. It didn't take them long until they reached a dead end in an alleyway.
"It ends here." Castigate said, looking up at the wall.
"At a wall?! In a dark alleyway?!" Ammisive yelled.
"This is a lot harder than it looks, ok!"
"You're a unicorn, this is your job! You had one job!"
"I'm trying! Tracking down someone's magic aura is incredibly difficult when you have no idea where she is."
"Well, who's fault it that now."
"I'm an illusionist! Not a &#( *#( magical gene! You want me to grant you a wish while you're at it you loud mouthed slang tosser!"
"What did you call me?!" Ammisive screamed.
"Oh, I forgot you're not educated enough to understand old english! You want me to dumb it down for you to, lazy sod!"
"I see now….you're too much of a coward to tell me what you're saying. You're all talk but no bit, just like your stupid father."
Castigate closed his eyes as he grit his teeth in anger. He shed a single tear before tackling Ammisive to the ground in rage.
"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!"
Just before he could punch, both his and Ammisive's eyes flashed red, causing them to immediately stop what they were doing, get up, and slowly walk out of the alleyway as if their free will had been stolen from their bodies. Seconds later, the dumper was opened and the gray mare jumped out of it completely clean.
"Don't ever make me do that again." Twilight said, looking back in the dumpster.
A stallion eventually made his way out of the dumpster, but not as fortunate. He was covered in brown slop and leftover food.
"You don't have to tell me twice." Night Shadow said, summoning a rain cloud above him and cleaning himself off.
The stallion had dropped his disguise, revealing his true colors….and his mane that was only as long as neck at most. Twilight struggled to keep a straight face, feeling sorry for the poor stallion.
"This doesn't make me feel better you know." Night Shadow said, annoyed.
"I'm sorry, it's just I'm not used to it." Twilight said, trying to not laugh.
"I look like a complete idiot...how am I suppose to fight like this. No one will take me seriously."
"No one took you seriously to begin with, Night Shadow. Plus, the box they gave me had a potion to grow your hair back once we were through the town."
"But I want my hair back now!" Night Shadow whined.
"After we get on the boat and get to our destination. We can't just blow our cover because of you being….well, you."
"Fine, whatever, OK!"
Twilight changed around her disguise, making her coat yellow with white hair. Night Shadow kept his original disguise of a green coat with pink hair.
"You need a better look." Twilight said casually.
Night Shadow groaned as he walked out of the alleyway with Twilight.
"How much farther?" He asked.
"I don't know, just follow your ears and nose until you reach the ocean."
"...&$#(($ fruit loops…."
After several minutes of wondering around ammily, avoiding guards and other diselements, they came to the docks of the city. Night Shadow, being completely confused as always, looked around and saw hundreds of ships and boats docked or preparing to set sail. Twilight was busy thinking about the message Lightning Dust gave her before Night Shadow grabbed her and shook her around.
"Which one is the right one! There's so many ships!" Night Shadow panicked.
"I'm trying to figure that out, just give me a second."
"But what if it's the wrong boat and it takes us to spider island! I don't want to go to spider island….there's spiders there!"
"Night Shadow, there's no such thing as spider island….at least I hope not."
"You don't understand Twilight. Ponies that go to spider island are never heard from again."
"Then how did the rumor start if everyone that went there was never heard from again? It makes no sense."
"...cookie."
Night Shadow conjured a pie and slowly pushed it into Twilight's face.
"Eat the cookie."
"It's not even a cookie, Night Shadow!" Twilight said, smacking the pie out of her face.
She looked around and noticed ponies eyeing them suspiciously. Twilight felt a chill run up her spine and looked back to Night Shadow.
"You trying to get us caught?" Twilight whispered.
"I'm trying to give you a cookie."
"IT'S NOT…later….just follow me."
They reach the entrance to the docks with no trouble at all. Twilight then recalled she had to talk to the dock master.
"Wait here, will you." Twilight said.
"Why?" Night Shadow asked.
"Just wait."
Twilight disappeared within the crowd, leaving Night Shadow sitting by the edge of the docks. Night Shadow sighed in annoyance until he looked up, seeing several groups of ponies in gray suits walking straight towards him.
"You got to be kidding me." Night Shadow whispered.
He looked around calmly until he found a fish stand. He slowly walked towards it and examined the fish while the ponies glossed right over him. Being curious, he looked over to his left, noticing they had completely ignored him and were walking right up an old stallion fishing by the docks. Their conversation didn't even last five seconds before the stallion was grabbed and thrown right through the fish stand Night Shadow was standing at.
"Why are you doing this…." The old stallion asked weakly.
"Treason..." One of the ponies whispered, pulling out a heavy caliber pistol.
Sadly, Night Shadow had no time to react as the stallion was brutally assassinated before his eyes. He and many others stood in shock as the "business" ponies stood emotionless at the scene.
"Why did you do this?" Night Shadow asked softly.
"He was a former guard for Cel-
The pony was cut off by the one that killed the old stallion, forcing him to remain silent. He took off his shades and glared at Night Shadow with a killer intent.
"You have no business asking, accept what you have seen and move on. Do not question us again or you too will join him."
At that moment, Night Shadow recalled his former life as a killer under Herus' control. Countless after countless of memories returned to his mind, murders he committed because of his ignorance and lives he took because of his negligence. Constantly told to kill because they were traitors, liars, and villains that wanted power. It was because of this, that he himself, refused to see more die for the same reason….and thus...he lost control….
Night Shadow ripped off the watch from his wrist, revealing his true colors and glared right at the ponies as his eyes twitched in rage.
(Fair warning...this gets really...detailed. You've been warned.)
"I will make you drown in your own blood…."
"What di-
Night Shadow grabbed the ponies tie and punched him to the floor, breaking his muzzle. The other agents tried to take out their weapons but found that their joints were completely frozen in place. The enraged pony slowly walked to one of the frozen ponies and glared him in the eye.
"How does it feel….how does it feel to be helpless like the ones you killed!"
Night Shadow grabbed the ponies neck and ripped it clean off, splattering blood all across the dock and frightening all that watched. Night Shadow had completely lost his grip on reality as he pushed the choking pony into the water without much thought. He walked next to another agent, smearing the blood across the paralyzed ponies face.
"Do you enjoy spilling the blood of those that can't fight for themselves?! Is this how you treat all that are too weak to fight?!"
Night Shadow slammed the pony to the ground and smashed his hoof through his back, ripping out his spine and tossing it to the floor. The other agents watched in complete terror as he approached the next one.
"You're all the same in my eyes. Cruel, heartless, uncaring to others. Did you even think of their families!"
Night Shadow smashed the wooden plank below him and slammed the agents face right through the jagged edges.
"No, because you are all monster! Demons! Soulless abominations that deserve nothing but damnation!"
The red stallion ripped out a metal pole from the side of a stand, causing it to collapse to the ground. With a swift thrust, he impaled another ponies heart and pinned him to a wooden support, forcing him to watch his own blood spill to the ground. He then punched through his ribs and ripped out his lungs, tossing them to the side like an old child's toy.
"You don't deserve sorrow. You don't deserve pity. You don't deserve a second chance….so why should you deserve anything less than judgement!"
Night Shadow walked to the last agent who was crying on the floor and begging to be forgive. The red stallion simply lifted him on his knees and ruthlessly beat his body with his hooves. After what seemed like hours, Night Shadow stopped and allowed the agent to fall to the floor. Night Shadow closed his eyes and removed the agents pistol from the floor, cocking it back once and grabbing it in his hooves.
"You caused so much pain….so much anguish and misery….ponies like us don't deserve forgiveness..." Night Shadow pointed the gun down at the agent and reopened his eyes. "And we never should..."
"Night Shadow?"
The stallion looked up at Twilight, who was struggling to keep her eyes from watering. Next to her was the dock master, who had the same shocked look as everyone else around him. Night Shadow looked around and regained control, he saw everyone staring right at him and slowly backed away in fear.
"Why are you doing this?" Twilight asked as her eyes watered. "This isn't who you are."
Night Shadow shook as he finally realized what he had done, forcing tears in his eyes.
"You don't know anything about me..." Night Shadow whispered.
"I don't have to to know that this isn't who you are. Please….drop the gun and let him go…." Twilight pleaded.
"Why...when he has killed so many..." Night Shadow said as tears flowed down his cheek.
"He's under a spell, Night Shadow! He doesn't know right from wrong! If you kill him now he will never know what it's like to be free from the tyranny Death Fire has placed over us all! You would be killing an innocent pony that was being forced against his will! You have to understand. They had no choice..." Twilight said, allowing her own tears to fall. "Please….you're not a murderer, Night Shadow...don't do this…."
Night Shadow stared into Twilight's eyes as he cried before closing them and looking away.
"You're right, Twilight….I'm a monster…."
"NIGHT SHADOW!"
*bang*
