Chapter 3

So I've Finally settled in to College so i'll be able to dedicate more time to this a couple more character including fan favourite from now on will be a lot longer as this where we get into the main course of the story

Twilight's POV

the menacing creature that stood before Twilight had only been seen by her through a book on creatures. The Karkinos formally an ally of the Hydra was known to destroy anything in its path and if not taken care of could destroy a city in a matters of hours. The other elements arrived swiftly by her side waiting and hoping that she had an ingenious idea to stop brain quickly factored in any potential weak points, that could exploited by each element.

"OK girl's we going to have to work together in order to deal with this"

"right"

"Fluttershy i know this isn't your average woodland creature but do you think you'd be able to employ the stare technique and prevent it from destroying"

"I'll give it a shot" She said, It was a daunting task but she knew after facing a dragon how important her way with animals was.

"OK now we need a diversion in order to allow Fluttershy close enough, Pinkie that's where you come in"

"OK" they said in unison.

"We'll need you to distract the Karkinos whilst, Rainbow and A.J lasso it's pincers, Rarity will tie some fabric into a huge lasso and I'll spend the time charging a spell to teleport it as far away from anypony as possible"

"We won't let ya down Twilight" Applejack answered. " Now let's get busy"

Twilight then began focusing all her efforts into charging the teleportation spell

" I really would of like Clair to be with us at the moment' she pondered for a moment. She did not notice the purple dragon scarpering off in the distance

Rarity POV

Rarity burst into her boutique and began tying knots to every bit of fabric she could find.

'as much as it pains me to use all this valuable cloth, if we don't stop this ruffian of a crab they'll be nopony to sell these cloths to'

She shuddered at the thought of her parents. She'd been so ashamed of them yet they were so proud of her, she then thought of Sweetie belle, she'd only truly had her for a sister since the sisterhooves social. Praying to Celestia that they were safe and that Pinkie Pie was doing a good job of distracting the Karkinos she levitated two several foot long rope and rushed out the boutique.

Applejack's POV

After Rarity had delivered the rope she had left for Sweet Apple acres which was currently the shelter spot for all Ponyvillians, to look after the CMC and bring calm to the civilians. Applejack look over to Rainbow also carry a makeshift rope and gave her the signal to fly up, since Rainbow wasn't as experienced in lasso as Applejack was, she would be tying the smaller claw although knowing Rainbow dash's competitiveness she was sure she wouldn't take inexperience as an excuse not to do the better than Applejack.

" Ok rainbow make sure you do it nice and slow, that way it won't see it coming"

Applejack then lifted the rope and immediately felt the weight of the cloths she knew she have to employ all her strength into this in order to get it right. With one almighty push she was able to heave the rope into the air and began to whirl it, out of the corner of her eye she managed to see that rainbow had managed to get the loose noose over the crabs claw. She hoped Pinkie's non stop gibbering and her Pinkie sense will give her enough time,

" just a couple more seconds" Her jaws were aching from the weight of the heavy silk.

"Here goes" and she managed to throw the nose directly on the claw just like her mother taught her.

" Ok Rainbow Now"

"Got it"

and they both pulled and to their relief the nooses began to tighten then swiftly began to tie the crab to two nearby poles fortunately for them the crab was a bit slower than they anticipated and didn't have time to thrust them off. The crab restrained although it wouldn't be for long.

'great job everyone, it's all going according to plan'

Twilight said

'Fluttershy you're up'

'OK' she said nervously she could feel the pressure in her stomach

she flew right in front of the Karkinos eyes close them for what seemed like an eternity for the others and opened them.

and thats when it all went wrong.

Clairs POV

Clair was awoken. By an almighty the door she opened with and Spike sprawled on the ground. What's up Spike why the rush', she enquired 'aren't you supposed to be at the party with the others'.

'b.. b .big *pant* *pant* trou.. ble'

What big trouble where, what

realising Spike was in no good condition to talk she attempted to read his mind. This was a skill that was part of her family for as long as she remembered. She quickly realised that ponyville was under by what could only be described (in spike's head as a giant crab, something worried her though her held felt odd and the images in spike's head were somewhat distorted. She quickly snapped herself out of it and said

' I've got to help the others' and bolted out the door leaving spike still panting on the ground.

Fluttershy POV

the stare was as effective as expected, the karinos froze and then began to cower. Desperately trying to cover it's eyes with it's already tied claws.

'great job Fluttershy now i just need to',

she couldn't finish her sentence as the Karkinos had managed to break free of its' tethers. It then swatted a flying rainbow dash to the ground, the force of impact had knocked her out stone cold. before anypony could react another swipe swung Applejack right into Twilight, the focus of her spell was lost and so was all the energy put into it.

The sight of her friends brought back the anger that Fluttershy felt when the dragon attacked her friends.

"Now you pay attention you mean old monster" however she then found herself lost for words only to realise that the reason being was that she was being crushed by the claws of the Karkinos. With all her energy she

managed to let out a ear piercing scream

Clair had just reached the smashed remains of sugarcube corner to see a very shaken Pinkie Pie a knocked out Rainbow dash and a dazed Twilight and Applejack, meanwhile the Giant Crab was holding Fluttershy in its death grip. Clairvoyance gulped she had a huge task ahead of her.
