Chapter 3
April woke up the next morning, and walked into the living room, and blinked, looking at the couch, which was empty, with a neatly folded blanket sitting there, and Calvin no-where to be found.
"Calvin…?" She called, but she was only greeted by the sound of her own voice. She shrugged and went to take care of her animals, then after shipping most of the produce she went inside and put the rest into the fridge, and then took a shower and made breakfast.
April walked around town, then spotted Calvin walking out of the clinic.
"Hey there Calvin," she said with a smile.
Calvin looked up, "oh, Hi April." He replied, "Sorry I left so quickly this morning. I had to met with Jin about my ankle, which is much better."
"It's all right, and that is great to hear." She said with a smile.
"So…" Said Calvin, "do you have anything to do for the rest of the day?" He asked.
"Well….I had planned to go mine for awhile since it is a great day for it.." She replied.
"Oh...well, you shouldn't go alone.." He said. "Bad things can happen…and I should know."
April smiled, "Would you like to join me then?" She asked.
Calvin smiled, "I'd be happy to." He said, and walked with her to the mine district, and down into the mine, "So…is there anything you are looking for in particular?" He asked.
"Gold ore so I can finally get a gold ax so I can finally be able to get more wood so I can finally get a larger house" April replied.
Calvin nodded, "I gotcha." He said, "well…I'll help you look for some."
"Thank you." April said.
Calvin just gave her a nod, then they went a little deeper into the mine and started to mine for the ore, which Calvin found not long after. April smiled as she walked over to him, after a while and Calvin held up the ore, "looking for this…?" He asked with a grin. April just laughed and took it from them and they made their way back up and out of the mine.
April and Calvin said their good-byes, then parted ways for the night. April put her animals back into the barn, then went into her house. She leaned on the closed door and sighed, as she felt her heart start to race as her thoughts drifted to the handsome miner. She shook her head, then went to go take a shower, and get ready for bed.
Calvin's P.O.V
Calvin went to his own house, feeling rather confused about the feelings starting to stir in his heart, he had never had these feelings before, and more than once that day, people have come up to him and asked him about the farmer, asking when he would ask her out, or something along those lines, but he didn't fully get what they ment, and just brushed them off.
Being new to the Island, he had become quite the loner, and never really spoke with people around town unless he had too….but to the people of Waffle Island…it seemed he started to grow a soft spot for the farmer.
Calvin himself sighed after walking into his house, "Is the town right….am I really falling for April…?" he thought to himself as he got ready for bed, "No….sh-she's just a friend…" He said determinedly, but his pounding heart said differently.
