Mark sat himself down for a minute adjusting his jacket, the worn fabric and chairs springs creaked from the weight "And here I thought everybody else was dead..." the police woman said shaking her head in astonishment to see more survivors, momentarily glancing at Mark who offered her a cigar "...I prefer something smaller, but thanks." she replied grateful; her eyes caught Claire as she stood back "How did all this happen? I mean, what the hell could have caused this?"

"It was Umbrella...everyone knows it was Umbrella. Least anyone still breathing does"

Elizabeth the young woman spoke "My whole family, all my friends are dead because of them...Jonathan..." She looked back at the body in the other room, Claire gave her a look of sympathy while Mark said nothing concealing his fear and apprehension, she looked up at Claire

"All those people who took jobs to work for them, they may have been good people...someone must have known, somebody knew something!"

"Still, there were good people who suffered...those corporate heads need to pay for what they've done to this city, these people"

"We gotta find Leon..." "I tried his radio but no answer, if they even got this far..." Mark looked at his gun in contemplation trying to figure out what their next move would be or at least what he was going to do, his profile made more apparent from desk lights gentle glow. "Well, no point sitting around here we need a plan, if there's a chance somehow I don't know but...if there are still soldiers in the city then maybe we can still get out."

"Unless that thing comes back..." - "What the hell was it?'' Mark wondered as Claire glanced at him

"There are things all over this god damn station. As you can see, so this place isn't exactly a haven of safety anymore. And i'd really prefer to stay among the living." the woman said "I practically just got here!" Claire replied "What's your name?" "Elaine." "I'm Claire, nice to meet you" "Ditto, so err... let's save the chit chat for later huh? Cause I really wanna go home tonight." She looked at the Blonde cop "You know a way out?" "Yeah I know a way; it's gonna be a walk in the fucking park!"

Bright lights shone down on Leon and Grahams as the pair tampered with the radio desk, fiddling with buttons in attempt to get a signal through with the radio equipment "Not sure there's even a signal on this end" the radio just seemed to hiss and buzz and occasionally squeak "Is anyone receiving this...hello...can anyone hear me...over?" the radio seemed unable to pick up any response "Nothing..." Grahams said sounding disappointed frantically playing with the frequency nozzle "Pretty good with radios?" Leon asked as he noticed the tattoo on Grahams left wrist before he pulled his sleeve down to cover it "3 years in the core, trained as a medic it helps to know how when you're in the middle of a…" suddenly interrupted the radio fuzzed and bleeped loudly; the pair almost jumped out of their skin Grahams about to answer was moved aside as Leon bent down and grabbed the mic "This is Leon Kennedy from the Raccoon City Police Department, I read you." He replied

[Fuck I got someone, listen we need help now we're in the grand palisades mall the east arcade…] a male voice answered

"Wait slow down, look can you get the police station?"

[With those things everywhere? I don't think so pal! We got pushed back, when they were evacuating, and we are in trouble man!]

Leon and Grahams looked at each other for a minute

"Is there anyone else there who can protect you until we get there? Anything you can use to defend yourself?"

[There is no-one else you're it! Look…those zombies aren't the only things running around out here, something else has been following us since we got here; it's killed two of us already and those goddamn things are trying to get in so if you can get here then hurry…please!]

His voice full of urgency, Leon pushed the outgoing button "We'll be there, just hold on, we're on our way!" Leon said firmly as he released the response button. He looked at Grahams "So we've got more survivors …" Leon thought "Is that really a good idea? Those things must be everywhere out there!" Grahams seemed increasingly anxious, as he straightened his doctors coat "We're not going to get far without some firepower, and a vehicle. The station armory must be somewhere, so we should move and fast" "Smart move!" Grahams said nodding in comprehension of his suggestion, walking toward the line of lockers up near the door; one of which had a name tag written in smudged marker, so the name was illegible.

A smartly dressed man walked out down the hall, before turning right into a blinding white corridor, his shadow bobbing down the white washed walls. He straightened up his tie feeling equally as fresh and as vibrant, moving further down the cleanly corridor, the place was extremely well maintained . The complex itself was an industrial hybrid, housing a moderate size staff, researchers, cooks and cleaning staff, as well as several military units. A bizarrely abstract design, tall and short towers surrounding a large dome, blending into the dense canyon, near the forest edge. Built in the latter portion of the eighties, originally it served as a resource outlet for western branches. It paid to be inconspicuous when creating viruses that horrifically altered a persons DNA, and turned small furry animals into deadly weapons, perhaps the cleaners would be better suited as field agents. They were a damn sight better at cleaning things up, than soldiers from the UBCS, motivated by the promise of a six figure bank balance, given they survive. Chrome rimmed bulbs burned into the dark marble floor, the Umbrella insignia etched into the marble itself, lined either side with hazard stripes that squared off over the set of steel doors toward the end. Either side was guarded by two very large men, both exceptionally tall, immaculately dressed in suits, ties and trench coats but there was something inhuman about them. They seemed almost mannequin in appearance, the Umbrella man approached the doors apprehensive at the sight of the them, waiting to be checked in, both men gave an approving nod, himself returning the gesture before entering.

Somewhere back outside on the cold dead streets of Raccoon City burnt out car wrecks and dying fires were its only occupants, heavy footfall grew as a large figure slowly patrolled through the two streets opposing each other looking around for any combatants. NEMESIS stomped slowly through the burning triangle of roads its huge weapon in hand, trampling over a lifeless corpse crushing its rotted head. Two stragglers hid behind one of the abandoned vehicles anxious and aware they were being sought out "What the hell is it?" One of them whispered "I don't know shut up" the other one replied, noticing the thing paused monitoring the area and making a thorough perimeter search through its retina using its tracking system. They tried to stay quiet so as not to be exposed but it was too late they'd been detected NEMESIS overhearing their heavy breathing, it outlined their bodies evaluating their threat level. A detailed bio of them both ran down through the back of his eyes, several suited men stood in the large command center observing their prize soldier in action "Jacob Bennett, Ryan Johnson just locals sir" one of the seated officers announced as he punched various commands into a futuristic looking desk of internally built computers and LCD screens "He won't kill them, they pose no threat" One of the suited men stated.

"The virus has become airborne in that area, their lungs are filled with it and they don't even realize…NEMESIS was designed to eliminate S.T.A.R.S and any viral threat" the suited man centered between the other two said, it was obvious he was in charge of this particular operation "Airborne? The virus may have evolved?" the third one asked "It's regressed...the virus was initially airborne, carried in particles, before transmuting into solid state, then only being passed by physical contact, or an exchange of fluids. Stated in the reports on the Arklay facility incident, that's how this all bloody started." The main man replied again exuding a confident demeanor as he stood with his arms folded, Alexis Ford, UB exec is what it said on the badge pinned to his breast pocket. NEMESIS stood observing the two unsuspecting men, Jacob came out raising his hands believing he could somehow reason with Umbrellas genetic abomination; Ryan hesitant and baffled by the insanity of it followed. Jacob approached gingerly "Look, we're just trying to get out of the city, we're not infected…maybe you could help us" The creature stood poised silently, returning with only a cold blank stare as he got closer, its one eye glued on his position and its facial aperture lacked tissue to form lips, exposing intrinsic dark teeth.

"Please...Help us...!" in response NEMESIS raised his gun and immediately opened fire, the barrel gave a deafening scream as bullets ripped his abdomen to shreds, In horror Ryan immediately turned to run; turning one target into two NEMESIS brought the bloody great weapon around and aimed it toward his friend. It went to fire but the gun jammed NEMESIS growled and looked down at the weapon which had overheated and rejected the piston coils, dropping the useless object to the ground NEMESIS unstrapped a rather heft looking rocket launcher from over its shoulder. Alexis laughed under his breath and unfolded his arms about to head for the command floor "It's bizarre what human beings resort to, in times of crisis and under extreme stress. Makes our jobs worth every cent"Ryan had reached the end of the street which seemed quieter, trying to catch his breathe he looked back but could see no sign of the NEMESIS; a hand sealed his mouth. It was Rebecca "Stay quiet and keep behind this wall!" She ordered quickly packing a clip into her weapon and stepping out "STARS!" the monster uttered a single word, arming itself for combat and keeping its sights on her intently, suddenly tearing across the street as fast as her legs could take her distracting it with blind-fire "Over here! You want STARS?". Hearing the immediate gun fire,Alexis turned to the screens noticing another player had entered the game "S.T.A.R.S..." - "There were rumours circulating that one or more may still in be the city, i didn't believe it" - "Unfortunate for her." He looked to one of his techs "Start recording, now!"

Rebecca quickly emptying the clip in her Beretta, ran for cover as NEMESIS raised its rocket launcher and shot out another which blew several cars to pieces, Ryan who's heart felt like it was trying to beat its way from out of his chest, laughed hysterically stupefied as the NEMESIS hunted Rebecca. The fight was monitored closely through giant high tech video screens; two of which followed the action through NEMESIS eyes. After reloading several zombies received a bullet to the head collapsing instantly as Rebecca came dashing out, NEMESIS hot on her tail. The creature seemed quite fast on it feet despite being built like a bulldozer. Ryan looked around for a second checking it was safe, the sound of a whip cracking as he turned *CRUNCH* blood oozed from his lips; looking down he found himself impaled on a large talon.

Unable to scream he could only writhe in agony as he was pulled back, the thing protruding through his sternum whipping about furiously spitting fluids, finally in firm grip of the NEMESIS. Ryan was helpless and his eyes wide, a cold bitter rage staring back, a sudden bark as the appendage was ripped violently from its prey, a pained wretch before his body was tossed aside. Returning its attention to her, NEMESIS steered right in pursuit of the S.T.A.R.S officer still in hind sight. It paused making a slow scan of the area, thorough in its search, but the hulking humanoid could not regain visual. It simply stood froze as if under some trance, before switching its whole body around, turning back, its orders were to return to the precinct once again.

The command center was reduced to a silent hall of figures as armed guards patrolled and lesser staff hurried about like drones, the screens changed, monitoring NEMESIS temporary retreat "This is just the prototype?" one of the CEO's asked "Test Trials were completed, the experiments with the NE-α were 98.9% successful. T-103's intelligence and virus recombining opened an unexpected door, cultivating into something far far superior. The latest in the B.O.W Tyrant series. Its Combat capabilities and survival rate surpass everything that was reported in the evaluation, I don't even understand how it adapted the weapon from its arm. Several buyers have already been in contact, Paris, Canada, even Russia..." Alexis answered as he watched the screens run down a series of scenarios and evaluated combat data for analysis "This thing makes the Soviets look like Costa-Rica" - "What about the S.T.A.R.S woman?" Another of the CEO's asked "It was conditioned to hunt and kill STARS on sight, using - muscle memory to identify all targets known to Umbrella. With the intelligence chip, It possesses adequate brain function and motor skills to follow orders to the letter. As long she remains in the city, NEMESIS will find her and eliminate her." Alexis replied

"If a single prototype is capable of eradicating an entire unit of special forces, imagine what a whole unit of the these things are capable of" one of the CEO's said looking at his colleagues "This is excellent, for once I can report some good news to the board at least one of the western branches aren't a complete failure. You've outdone yourself Alexis" his colleague said "Several more are waiting on the assembly line in the Paris facility, in three days at the current rate of progress, I can have over 38% produced in addition. Now, I believe some refreshments are in order in the directors' lounge come gentlemen" The three of them strolled out through the automatic doors, Umbrella staff continued working away tirelessly, the sound of foot fall drowned out by automated announcements. Two choppers each with U.B.C.S down the side, quickly freed the tethers of several large cases, smashing through the precinct skylight before flying onward to return to base.
