Feast of St Acacius of Antioch
31 March Year of Our Lord 1190
Theodosia,
I am sorry I have not written sooner. I am glad to hear that you are better. I have been distracted.
Well, that much is evident. You know me.
I'm sorry. You wished to know how the feast went.
It is your uncle Edward. At first I worried for small things—he was spending more time in the castle, having fewer audiences at Knighton and more and more business in the council. I cannot always be at the castle; my presence is noticed and even though I am known and excused as the Sheriff's daughter, sometimes I am only tolerated and never welcomed. What I mean to say—he is not well. He never showed any sign of illness, and now he is failing.
Yes, I will still come to you if you wish. I only hope my father improves.
Marian
