Chapter 21: Lewis hope
(Mikey and Leanne pushed the double doors of the Digimon hospital and ran into the waiting area where Ashley, Katie. Sam, Robert, Naomi and Cleo were all waiting to hear news about their children. Katie stood up when Leanne entered the room and embraced her daughter's best friend)
"Any news" Mikey glanced at Naomi who shook her head at her nephew
"None" she replied sadly "Also Katie keeps blaming herself so much. She thinks it's her fault that Dana got hurt but I keep telling her that it isn't her fault."
"Where are Dani and Lewis" Leanne replied panicking that she couldn't see the two younger members of the team
"Don't worry" Robert gave a smile "They have just gone down to the canteen to get some sweets" And just as he said that Dani returned along with Lewis, Patamon and Gomamon both each clutching a packet of sweets
"Leanne Mikey!" Dani exclaimed happily as she spotted the two older members "You arrived"
"Sure did" Leanne gave a grin just as Katie moved closer to Cleo
"I still blame myself you know" the brunette admitted "If I hadn't sent Dana back so early from her spraining her ankle then this might not have happened"
"Katie this wasn't your fault, this was bound to happen whenever you sent Dana back too early or not. The evil was out to get them and they were just in the wrong place at the wrong time that's all" Cleo was about to add more when Danielle spotted her older brother coming down the corridor
"Damon!" she exclaimed happily running towards her big brother
"Hey guys" Damon gave a small smile "Good news everyone seems to have got through their exam safely. Naomi and Dana seem to be the worse since they were knocked unconscious but Simona and Suzanne seem to be ok. But of course all four of them will have to be kept in for observation
"See told you there was nothing to worry about" Cleo gave a small smile to Katie who nodded
"I couldn't help but feel concerned that's all" she whispered as she was given a comforting hug from her husband and then later by Naomi who was also happy that her daughter was also safe as well
"I guess all we do now is wait for them to come out of theatre and then we can go and see our daughters" Sam added. Ashley nodded at his friend as the girls also agreed as well. However the evil wasn't happy and wanted to give them something to be concerned about. He got out his phone and dialled a number
"Birdramon" he hissed "Go to the Digimon hospital and set a fire. 4 of the Digidestined are there and I want to make them pay!"
(It was a few hours since Damon had given the good news to the Digidestined that their children would be fine and since then Damon hadn't given them any news that they were ok. Ashley and Katie were leant next to one another sleeping while Naomi was reading a magazine, Robert and Cleo were playing games on their cell phones and Sam was just doing a crossword. Dani, Lewis, Leanne and Mikey were just sat on the floor talking to one another when Leanne lifted her head up and spotted Damon walking towards them)
"Guys I`m sorry but I`m going to have to ask you to leave the hospital. One of the Digimon has spotted something and we need to clear things up. Don't worry this isn't in where the kids are" Damon reassured them who nodded but Katie still looked unsure. Damon then ushered the kids out however Leanne kept glancing up at the window where the 4 Digidestined were being kept
"Something isn't right" Leanne murmured while Mikey was keeping an eye on Dani and Lewis
"What?" Mikey replied confused
"I know Damon said that the others would be ok but if you look where they are being kept can you see smoke" Leanne squinted up at the window and spotted some smoke. Mikey also looked and nodded
"Your right!" Mikey exclaimed "But what should we do"
"I think all four of us should go back into the hospital and try and find them. The Digimon can also help us as well" Leanne nodded determined as Lalamon also nodded as well. Mikey looked unsure
"I don't know Leanne" Mikey trailed off
"If you don't go in then I`m going. I`m not leaving Dana and Naomi in there alone. They were there for me when I was un well or afraid and I want to do something for them. And I`m sure Lewis will want to save his sister as well" Leanne exclaimed
"Ok your right" Mikey nodded "But if something goes wrong,,," the bluenette boy trailed off
"It won't" Leanne nodded as she then nodded across for Dani and Lewis to join them
"Dani, Lew we are going to go back in. Me and Mikey think something is up and we want to see if Dana and the others are ok. Do you want to join us?" Leanne glanced at Dani and Lewis
"Yes" Lewis nodded "I need to try and find my sister"
"I think I better stay here" Dani glanced down at the ground. Mikey also nodded
"I'll stay here and help Dani" Mikey replied. Leanne gave a small smile as she took Lewis hand and the pair of them made their way back into the hospital where they both held out their digivices and Lalamon and Patamon both digivoled to Lillamon and Angemon.
"You think they will be ok Mikey" Dani glanced up at the older boy who remained silent
"I don't know Dani" Mikey muttered as he looked up at the sky
"This hospital is so huge!" Leanne exclaimed as she ran down each corridor closely followed by Lewis and the two Digimon. "Aha" she gave a small smile as she noticed a door and noticing that billowing smoke was surrounding it started to panic "Dana. Naomi!" she called out
"I`m here Leanne!" Naomi`s voice called out. "Dana is a little bit pre occupied that's all"
"I'm ok Naomi!" Dana snapped and Leanne gave a small smile to hear her two best friends "Can you come please because this smoke is getting in my eyes"
Leanne nodded and commanded Lillamon to kick the door down which she did. Leanne then spotted Dana, Naomi, Suzanne and Simona in their hospital gowns but happy to see their friends
"Look before we have a family reunion" Leanne glanced at Dana and Lewis "We need to get our quick, we don't know how this smoke is going to spread and if the evil is anything to do with it I'm` pretty sure it will spread quickly. So Lilamon will you take Suzanne and Simona and Angewomon will take Dana and Naomi. Angemon will take Lewis back along with myself" Leanne commanded. Dana looked surprised that Leanne was taking so much in charge and sent a sideways look to Naomi. However she obeyed her friends command and flew out of the room on Angewomon followed by Naomi. Lillamon then followed with Suzanne and Simona and Lewis was last with Angemon however Lewis started to cough as the smoke billowed around him
"Lewis" Leanne started to panic as Lewis started to cough
"I-can't-breathe" Lewis started to panic and Leanne started to panic. However his crest started to glow and Angemon also started to glow
ANGEMON DIGIVOLE TO MAGNAANGEMON
"You evolved!" Lewis gasped though the smoke. Magnaangemon gave a small smile as he picked Lewis and Leanne up and flew through the smoke towards the exit of the hospital. Katie gave a small gasp as she noticed Magnanangemon flying towards the group with Lewis in his arms and gave a scream as she scooped Lewis up in her arms
"I'm sorry I just wanted to help Dana" Lewis whispered as Katie fondled his blonde hair "But thanks to Magnaangemon I did" he gave a grin
"And we are just thankful that the girls are also safe as well. Thanks to you Leanne" Ashley gave a smile to his daughter's best friend
"So what now" Katie glanced around at the group as she was still hugging Lewis
"I think maybe we should go back home for a few months and let the kids sort out what they are going to do. The next time they come back will be for the big battle and I want to see what their next move will be" Ashley added. The girls all nodded and everyone departed however what they didn't know was that the evil wasn't going to let them go that easily
