She smiles at me. She gets up and throws her arms around me. "You're leaving again aren't you?" She asked.
I looked at her already blurry eyes; she is trying so hard not to cry.
"Rin... I... follow if you please." She tosses me a smile hugging me tighter to her.
I hug him tighter, my heart beating so fast I keep thinking it might explode. "Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!" I said into his chest. If he hadn't been leaning on the wall we would have fallen back. I love this moment! His hands slip around me. I smile and snuggle into him.
"I gotta go get ready..." I say, it was hard for me to pull away from our embrace. He nods thoughtfully. I smile, and ran out to go pack.
"Lady Kaede!" I yell busting into the hut.
"Yes, child?" she asked
"Lord Sesshomaru is taking me with him this time! I am so HAPPY!" I yell dancing around the room. Kaede lets out a shaky laugh.
"That's good child; do you see that bow?"
Rin's Bow
"Yes, why, what is it Lady Kaede?" I asked, worriedly.
"It is yours take care of it." Kaede said smiling at me.
I looked at the bow and quiver in my hands. "Gorgeous." I say quietly to myself. Kaede still heard and smiles at me.
"Be good child, Kagome finished her journey, now it is ye turn." She coughs violently. "Do ye see that book, my child?" She asks me. I nodded and she asked me to get it, so I do. It was red and is tied together by a red ribbon. "Take it too, I have given Kagome hers. Those books have all my knowledge in them, I fear that I will be leaving this land to see Kikyo, earlier than expected, goodbye child." Kaede said as she broke out into another fit of coughing. I smile at the woman who has been like my mom. I take out a bag and packed it with my kimonos, my money, and the book. I pick up my new bow and my quiver, it was filled with arrows and before I headed out Kaede stops me, "And child, that bow and quiver were carved from a very sacred tree, it will grow with you." she says softly.
"Yes, Lady Kaede." I smile fondly at her. Then, I leave the hut I had thought of as home for all these years.
"RIN" Aito yells suddenly running up to me.
"What is it?" I ask noticing Sesshomaru follow me out.
"I am sorry, I went overboard, give me a chance to prove myself, please, say you'll marry me, or at least go out with me, let me court you something, I just don't want to lose you!"
I stand there staring dumbstruck at Aito "Lord Sesshomaru, this is Aito an old friend…" I say turning to my lord, "Aito, this is Lord Sesshomaru, and I am leaving with him, goodbye I hope to see you again someday."
Aito slowly looks over to Lord Sesshomaru, who remains expressionless. "H-hello," he says not looking Lord Sesshomaru in the eye, "Rin, you can't go! You have to stay here, what do you suppose I do without you!"
I sigh, "Aito, I made my mind up a long time ago if Lord Sesshomaru ever gave me the chance I would go with him, and I will never look back, so as I said before, goodbye, I hope to see you again someday." I say; I turn on my heel and leave, walking beside Lord Sesshomaru.
I stopped suddenly and sit on a rock, by the creek and dip my feet in the water. Sesshomaru walks by quickly (Rin by the creek). We have been walking all morning, I am exhausted! "Jeez, Sesshomaru calm down." I say pouting. I had decided to drop the 'Lord' part, it seems so formal. He gives me an amused look. "Fine, we can rest for a while." he says. I laugh and go to lie back, forgetting I am on a rock; I fall backwards off the rock.
"Owe." I say sitting up and rubbing the back of my head. I look at Sesshomaru who had put his hand in-front of his mouth, trying to hide the smile as his chest shook with laughter. I smile; at least one good thing came out of that. I stand up and sit by Sesshomaru leaning on him. Luckily, I had slipped on flats before I had left (I know they don't actually have flats back then, sorry; I just didn't want her running around barefoot...) They give me some protection. I had boots in my bag, but I am too lazy to get them out. I hear some travelers pass behind us on the road. "Yeah, the village up ahead is swarming with Monks; I heard kids have been getting kidnapped again." I hear the traveler say. I remember, the demon Ongokuki who kidnapped me when I was younger (Episode 162 or season 7 Ep. 3) I remembered the terrified children. "S-Sesshomaru... Uh-" he cut me off.
"Go" Sesshomaru says not looking at me. I notice he is only a few inches taller than me, I thought he would be a lot taller, especially with how much I looked up to him when I was smaller.
I go to stand up, and he grabs my hand, "Keep this" He says throwing his Mokomoko around me. I smile at him. I grab my bow and arrows. I see the book sticking out of my bag, and I don't know why, but I grab it and ran off to the village. He'll be waiting, so I need to hurry.
Sure enough, when I enter the village, I see monks and priests everywhere. I feel the Mokomoko glide around me, not in a demonic way but in the wind. It wraps around my shoulders and seems to make a huge loop around me. Although it somehow stayed in place, and managed to blow around in the wind, it made me look enchanting.
"Hello." A priest says to me.
"Hello, sir, do tell me, is it true children are disappearing from this village?"
He gave a regretful smile, "Yes, I am sorry to inform you, it is true."
"Oh, how many children have gone-?"
"You sure ask a lot of questions, for a girl."
I am sure he can't see my bow, which I had sat in the quiver rather than carry, or the quiver around the Mokomoko. "Yes, I guess so." I reply.
"Would you like to stay with me tonight?" he asks.
"No, I fear I will be leaving soon." I say and turn and leave the village without pausing, something about that man gave me the creeps.
