It was finally a peaceful day in apartment 4A. They boys, sans Leonard, were gathered for an evening of video games. Sheldon, after working tirelessly all week, was looking forward to a calm and restful weekend. Just when Sheldon once again beat Raj in Halo, Leonard came bursting through the door.

"Leonard! Why the rush!" Howard exclaimed, trying to recover the fact that he screamed like a little girl when he heard the door bang.

Leonard took a deep breath, obviously tired considering he most likely ran up the stairs too tell them something. Sheldon just raised his brow and thought weak fool.

"So, you guys know how Penny's birthday's coming up right? I wanted to do something special for her this year. Do you guys want to help?" Leonard asked, still trying to take a breath.

He heard an array of yes's, and a simple no from Sheldon.

"Come on buddy! It's Penny! And I really wanted to do something special for her! Please, she'll be so grateful, I'll be so grateful!" Leonard begged.

Well, when he puts it like that… Sheldon speculated. "Fine I guess I'll but aside my important work, and the need for sleep, in order to help you in a quest that you will ultimately fail in a foolish way."

Leonard looked confused for a moment before he happily exclaimed, "I'll take that as a yes!"

"So what's you plan buddy? A party? An expensive gift where we all chip in?" Raj speculated.

Leonard then said with much pride. "Oh much better! My friend, we are going…"

The Next Day: Penny's Birthday

"No. Absolutely not! This is absurd! I refuse to downgrade myself to this!" Sheldon exclaimed.

"Oh come on Sheldon! You agreed yesterday!" Leonard whined.

"That was before I knew you were planning! I can't do this!" Sheldon said.

"You're Texan. I'm sure you can figure it out." Penny said with a smile on her face.

Sheldon cringed at the sight. There the gang was, in a shooting range. Penny and the rest of the gang picked up a pistol and began firing away. Sheldon on the other hand was quite picky with a choice of gun. When he finally settled for one, the rest of his friends were having a bet to see who would make a better-shot record.

"Hey sweetie, wanna join the bet? Losers pay the winner 20 bucks each! I'm winning so far by a landslide!" Penny said to him with a smile.

"Very well." Sheldon said. The then checked how well everyone was doing, validating that Penny was, indeed, winning by a landslide. She was a good shot, even made a bulls-eye. Sheldon just smirked, and aimed his gun.

Penny was having a great birthday. Her boys surprised her with a great lunch, and then surprised her even more by taking her to a shooting range, although Sheldon was quite reluctant to go. When I decided to make the bet with the boys, all I was thinking of was an extra 80 bucks. When Sheldon finally aimed his gun, I saw him smirk, and shoot five shots. I look at him paper, thinking of how badly he did. What I didn't expect was five straight bulls-eyes.

Penny drops her jaw, while Sheldon smiles at her, "I win. I'll be in the car."

And without he puts away his gun and begins to walk towards the door. "How?" Penny calls out to him.

Sheldon smirks, and says with a heavy Texan accent calls back, "Please Penny, I'm Texan." With that he winks, and walks out the door, leaving Penny both surprised, and intrigued.
