An update after so long! Does anyone even read anymore? XD
Alice's POV
It has been 5 years since the fall of Wall Maria. The duty of the Recon Corp's has changed since. Now, we priorities in setting up small bases and camps with resupplying stations, for when we recapture Wall Rose. We, the Special Corps decided to split into pairs to keep the titans at bay while the specialists set up the equipment.
I stood on the remains of an abandoned building to get a hold of my surroundings. I've been noticing that some of the titans starting moving towards the wall.
"Oi, what's the situation up there?" Auruo shouted.
"This area is clear. No titans spotted within range."
"Got it! Keep looking out for them, ya hear?"
"Roger!"
I'm overthinking, I should stay focus on the task at hand. People's lives are at stake here.
A gust of wind blew into my face, carrying a familiar stench of iron.
Why can't I shake off this uneasy feeling in me?
Levi's POV
"Levi!" A familiar voice rang.
It was Commander Erwin.
"We're retreating!" He said.
"Retreating? We haven't reached our limit yet. Are you throwing away the lives of my men?"
"The titans have begun heading north to the city."
"What?" Petra said, surprised.
"It's the same as 5 years. Something big has happened, the walls might've even been breached. Regroup with your team and head to the walls immediately."
"Understood." I said. "You guys, go regroup with the other two and return to the city. I'll head back first with Erwin."
Alice's POV
By the time we had reached Wall Rose, just as Erwin feared. The outer town had already been invaded by the titans. Somehow, the walls were blocked, preventing other titans from entering. Not even giving us a proper explanation, we were ordered to clean up the rest of the existing titans that were still around. We were later briefed that the colossal titan had reemerged and broke down the wall once more. However, what surprised me the most was what was said next. Apparently, a certain new recruit had turned into a titan and closed up the wall with the giant boulder. At first, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. A human turning into a titan was unheard of. However, there was no other explanation. No existing technology we had could have lifted up a boulder that big. Not before long, story of the titan boy became the talk of the town. I pushed Levi on this matter. He said that he saw it with his very own eyes; a boy emerging from the nape of a titan.
The military took custody of the titan boy and he was currently locked up somewhere. Erwin had appealed to the court for his custody and was given the approval to fight at court. A handful of higher ranked soldiers were chosen to represent the Recon Corps. I had been given permission to tag along as Levi's subordinate.
After the court case.
"Levi, I overheard the guards saying that you kicked the boy in the face. Did you have to go that far?" I nagged as the two of us walked through the hallway.
"I don't see what the problem is. It all worked out well in the end. Isn't that what matters most?"
"That's true but still. You should at least apologies to him."
"Why should I? On the contrary, he should be thanking me."
"Why do you have to be so rude? You didn't have to kick him for real."
"If I didn't, do you think everyone would have bought it?"
I sighed out of frustration and walked away.
"Oi, where are you going?" Levi asked.
"I'll meet you later. Make sure you apologies!"
The titan boy, I'm curious just what kind of person he is? It would seem that Commander Erwin has plans for him but can we really trust him?
I couldn't find a kitchen to get ice, so I ran my handkerchief under some cold water and headed to where everyone was. I knocked on the wooden door and entered the room.
"Alice! Take a look!" Hanji yelled in a trilled voice.
She then grabbed my hand and pulled me up to the young boy before I could say anything.
"Check it out! His teeth grew back! Isn't that amazing?"
I looked into the boy's mouth, true enough all his teeth were intact, despite Levi sending one of them flying in the court room.
"Amazing. It really did." I said, genuinely intrigued.
"Isn't it? Look the other one is still here." Hanji squealed as she shoved a single tooth into my face.
"Err… you kept it?"
"Of course! It's an important specimen!"
"Good for you… I think." I said with a force smile. "Ah, this is for you." I handed the boy the handkerchief. "It'll help with the swelling."
"Eh? Ah! Thank you very much!" He said nervously.
"You're welcome." I smiled politely. "At least SOMEONE has some manners!" I glared at Levi.
"Erm… I think what Levi Heichou did was right considering the situation." The boy spoke up.
"There, you heard it from the boy himself. I got nothing to be sorry for."
"Levi!" I shouted.
"It's fine, honestly!"
"Alright, fine."
I turned my attention to the boy, he was clearly very nervous, nothing like what I had expected him to be. I thought he'd be more… well less human but he looked like a normal young man you'd see anywhere.
"Does it still hurt?" I asked.
"Just a little. Most of the pain has already gone away."
I bent down to check on his injuries. His face grew red as my fingers traced his face. Upon closer inspection, his face seemed familiar.
"Have we met?" I asked him.
"Urm, I'm not sure."
"What was your name again?"
"Eren. Eren Jaeger." He replied.
Eren… Jaeger? Could it be?
"Was your father a doctor?"
"Eh- yes."
It was. It's him.
Eren's POV
A huge smile formed on the girls face. I was startled when she suddenly pounced at me.
"Eren, it's me, Alice, Alice Berux. Do you remember? My father was a patient of Doctor Jaeger. We used to play together when we were younger. I even came to your house once." She jumped excitedly.
Suddenly, flashes of memory fragments came over me. I saw images of my younger self playing with a girl around my age. It wasn't Mikasa, as she had curlier brown hair.
"Now that you mentioned it, I do recall."
"You remembered?" She said.
"Yes, I almost didn't recognise you for a moment there. You've changed."
"Well, you on the other hand, haven't changed much."
"Sure I have!" I stood up. "Like my height!"
"I was kidding." She laughed and placed her hand on top of my head. "You've grown into a fine young man."
That made me a little embarrassed.
"You know each other?" Commander Erwin asked, a little surprised.
I had almost forgotten that there were others in the room with us.
"Yes. He often came with his father to visit. It's been a long time, probably more than 10 years." She answered.
"Is that so?" He replied.
"I'm currently part of Levi's special Corps, so we'll both be working together from now."
"I'll be in your care."
Up till today, I had completely forgotten about Alice.
I know everyone has been waiting for the reunion to happen and FINALLY! Sorry the chapter didn't turn out that well.
