Chapter 6: First Day of Classes

"So according to our schedules our first class is Potions with Professor Severus Snape. It should be right up here somewhere." Anita said looking into rooms only to find them empty. Carrie looked around for the door.

"His classroom is here in the dungeon right?" Carrie asked as she skipped slightly ahead.

"Yeah. It's one of two classes we have down here." Ani said as she peered into another empty room. "Ugh! Where the bloody hell could his classroom be?" Carrie quickly became frustrated and speed walked ahead stopping to look into every classroom she passed.

"Found it!" The redhead exclaimed as she disappeared into the room which only had a few students in it but was obvious from the set up that it was a potions class. Carrie quickly followed suit, entered the classroom and looked at the cauldrons and veils of potions stored on shelves against the walls. A slight chill of excitement filled her small body.

"Where do you want to sit?"

"Front row of course." Ani stated as if it was obvious and took a seat at the desk on the left side of the classroom but closest to the front of the class. Carrie took a seat next to her and placed her potions book on the desk.

"This is a large room." She stated as she looked around. Anita just nodded and waited patiently as the class filled up. Then suddenly a blur of cape and hair stormed in.

"There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few... Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death." Snape started off lecturing before he made it halfway to the front of the class. Carrie watched him closely, not taking her eyes off him once as the last two sentences he said repeated in her mind.

"... put a stopper in death…." She quietly repeated to herself, other than that the class was completely silent. Anita noticed Harry was busy writing what Snape had been saying.

"Potter!" said Snape suddenly. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

"Powdered root of what to an infusion of what?" Harry glanced at Ron, who

looked as stumped as he was; Hermione's hand had shot into the air.

"I don't know." said Harry. Snape's lips curled into a sneer.

"Tut, tut - fame clearly isn't everything." He ignored Hermione's hand.

"Let's try again. Potter, where would you look if I told you to find me

a bezoar?" Hermione stretched her hand as high into the air as it would go without

her leaving her seat.

"You were right about her." Ani whispered to Carrie. Carrie nodded and rolled her eyes. The two girls could hear Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle shaking with laughter, whether because of

Harry's ignorance or Hermione's eagerness neither of them were sure.

"I don't know."

"Thought you wouldn't open a book before coming, eh Potter?" Snape went on ignoring Hermione's quivering hand. "What is the difference, Potter, between monkshood and wolfsbane?"

"I swear, if Granger puts her hand up one more time…" Carrie mumbled as she awaited Harry's answer.

"She never put it down in the first place. I'm waiting for her to take off like a firework and explode." Ani mumbled back. Carrie tried to giggle as lightly as possible at the image.

"I don't know," said Harry quietly. "I think Hermione does, though, why

don't you try her?"

A few people laughed Snape, however, was not pleased. "Sit down," he snapped at Hermione. "For your information, Potter, asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful it is known as the Draught of Living Death. A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and it will save you from most poisons. As for monkshood and wolfsbane, they are the same plant, which also goes by the name of Aconite. Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?"

There was a sudden rummaging for quills and parchment. Over the noise, Snape said, "And a point will be taken from Gryffindor House for your cheek, Potter."

Things didn't improve for the Gryffindor as the Potions lesson continued. Snape put them all into pairs and set them to mixing up a simple potion to cure boils. He swept around in his long black cloak, watching them weigh dried nettles and crush snake fangs, criticizing almost everyone except Malfoy, whom he seemed to like. He was just telling everyone to look at the perfect way Malfoy had stewed his horned slugs, Carrie's face became slightly green with envy at Draco's praise from Snape, causing her to furiously crush her snake fangs, when clouds of acid green smoke and a loud hissing filled the dungeon. Neville had somehow managed to melt Seamus's cauldron into a twisted blob, and their potion was seeping across the stone floor, burning holes in people's shoes. Within seconds, the whole class was standing on their stools while Neville, who had been drenched in the potion when the cauldron collapsed, moaned in pain as angry red boils sprang up all over his arms and legs.

"Idiot boy!" snarled Snape, clearing the spilled potion away with one wave of his wand. "I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking the cauldron off the fire?"

Neville whimpered as boils started to pop up all over his nose.

"Take him up to the hospital wing," Snape spat at Seamus. Then he rounded on Harry and Ron, who had been working next to Neville.

"You - Potter - why didn't you tell him not to add the quills? Thought he'd make you look good if he got it wrong, did you? That's another point you've lost for Gryffindor."

Anita saw Ron kick Harry to keep him from saying something stupid and mumbled something to him. Class was let out in the next few minutes after homework was assigned and everyone rush to leave, that is, everyone except Carrie and Anita. Carrie was still upset about Draco and put away her cauldron while mumbling under her breath. Anita elbowed her friend in the side.

"Come on." Ani had originally planned to talk to her uncle for a bit and properly introduce herself and Carrie to him, but she could tell now wasn't the best time. Carrie grabbed her books and met back with Anita, still growling ever so slightly under her breath. "Carrie, what's wrong?"

"Bloody Draco, getting all the praise while our potion was far superior to his…" Carrie grumbled.

"I know, but maybe it was more of a show towards Harry. My uncle seems to have an instant hatred for the poor kid." Anita tried to reason. Carrie grumbled a little more than sighed.

"I guess you're right… He was pretty pathetic today. Those were simple questions." Carrie said as she relaxed a bit. "I don't know why I got so jealous…." she sighed. Anita blushed slightly in embarrassment because she, herself couldn't even answer the questions asked of Harry.

"Y-yeah...pathetic…." Ani mumbled as she clutched her book to her chest and stared at the floor as she walked. Carrie released a last frustrated sigh and joined Anita, also staring at the floor as she walked.

"What's wrong Ani?" she asked looking sideways at Anita, taking notice of her change of mood.

"H-huh..? Oh nothing." Anita replied with a cheery covering up her previous mood. "Let's go get some lunch then head to our next class." Carrie was confuzzled for a moment but then nodded with a smile.

"Okay." She takes Anita's arm and they both head toward the great hall.

"So was there anything you liked about potions, besides the Professor?" Ani teased her friend as they walked.' Carrie blushed brightly.

"O-of course! I love potions and certainly not just because of Professor Snape!" Carrie exclaimed with slight denial. "He is a very good teacher even though he's favoring my cousin." Carrie rambled. "I watched him, he added slightly more snakes fang than required which can alter the effect of the….." Carrie continued to vent in a rambling of what Draco did wrong and why she should've been the class example.

Anita couldn't help but laugh softly at her friend's rambling rant as they made their way into the great hall and over to the Slytherin table which had only about a quarter of the students it usually does. "Carrie can you slow done enough to eat lunch?" She teased her friend yet again as they sat down about where they did last night. Carrie made a face jokingly and poured herself some pumpkin juice.

"All I'm saying is that Draco is a dimwit and shouldn't have gotten praised." Carrie said then chugged down her cup of juice. "At least you could've gotten recognized as his niece!" she grumbled as she grabbed a cucumber sandwich.

"I'm glad he didn't. That would be too much attention." Anita said as she grabbed a turkey sandwich. "I want to keep it from spreading that I'm his niece." The redhead didn't want people trying to befriend her to get on her uncle's good side. Carrie understood where she came from and took a bite from her sandwich.

"I hope tomorrow won't be so focused on those idiots." Carrie stated as she took a huge bite from her sandwich. "I might just snap."

"We don't have potions again until Wednesday." Anita said already having memorized their schedules. Carrie looked at her with a face of unmistakable sadness.

"We don't?" she asked sadly.

"No, tomorrow we have Charms and History of Magic." Ani replied before finishing her sandwich. Carrie sunk into her seat and pouted. She grabbed another sandwich and mumbled to herself. Ani chuckled at her friend's actions.

"Just wait until Friday, we double up on potions." The redhead nudged Carrie. Carrie sat up slightly.

"I guess…" She took a bite from her sandwich. "But Friday is so far away…." she groaned. Anita just laughed and fixed her some juice to drink.

"Ready to head to DADA?" She asked curiously. Carrie nodded.

"Yeah, I'm ready to meet that curiously nervous teacher of ours." She joked as she finished her sandwich and gathered her books.

"Yeah, he seems a bit weird. But the class should be interesting." Anita said before she chugged her drink and grabbed her books.

"I wonder what his problem is. I wonder what kind of spells we're going to learn. Hopefully good ones." Carrie said as she got out of her seat and brushed off her skirt and Anita followed suit.

"Me too." Looks sad as she remembers how useless she was when her mother was murdered.

Carrie noticed her change in mood again.

"What's wrong this time?" She asked as she poked Anita's cheek.

"N-nothing. Just thinking about something." The redhead shrugs trying to act like it's nothing, not wanting to burden her friend with her problems. Carrie looks at her with her, 'I know there's something wrong', face.

"Come on, out with it." She nudged her redheaded friend.

"It's nothing really. Let's get going." Anita said as she headed off towards class clutching her books. Carrie made a confused face but then tried to catch up with her friend.

"Hey wait up!" she called as she finally caught up to her. Anita slowed down but remained quiet not wanting to talk about what had just happened. The girls headed to their next class in silence.

"I think this is the room." Carrie said as she opened the door.

"Wow. This is so cool. Look at all the stuff in here!" Anita exclaimed as she looked around. Carrie looked at all the various items hanging from the ceiling to the walls, even items stacked on the floor.

"What is that?" Carrie inquired as she looked into a tank with some sort of reptile or amphibian in it.

"It's so cute!" Anita rushed to her friend's side to look at it. "Don't you think so?" Carrie was unsure on how to answer that without having a complete look at it.

"I guess so. I'm not sure if I'm looking at its bum or its head." She said trying to find any detail of eyes or a mouth.

"Its head's over here." Ani pointed out with a chuckle. "So you're looking at its arse." Carrie giggled and headed over where Anita was standing.

"Well then, I guess it is pretty cute. But what is it?" She asked as she pressed her hand on the side of the tank.

"I don't remember what my dad called them but we had a few on the island." Anita said as she tried to remember the name.

"Are they dangerous?" The tan skinned girl inquired, her interest in the creature growing.

"It depends. The ones on the island don't like any of the other creatures; dad's been observing them in his free time." Anita responded.

"This one looks pretty relaxed. Maybe this one is okay with people." Carrie waved at it; it looked at her and blinked slowly.

"It looks nice enough." Ani smiled. "Let's go get our seats before class starts." Carrie nodded and looked around the room to find a decent seat.

"Do you want to sit in the front again?" she asked as she eyed an open seat at the front of the class.

"Nah, I think the back is better." The redhead replied as she spotted seats in the back. Carrie spotted the same seat in the back as Anita.

"Alright. To the back we go!" Carrie exclaimed as she marched toward the back of the room. Anita hurried follows Carrie.

"If I'm correct it's just Slytherins in this class for this period." Anita said as she sat down. Ani noticed Malfoy, Crabbe and Goyle enter the class.

"That's a relief. At least we get a break from Granger. But we still have to deal with Blondie and the dummies." Carrie joked as she watched her cousin and his friends take their seats.

"You mean the whiny baby?" Ani asked jokingly loud enough for Malfoy to here.

"Yeah. The one who complains about anyone and anything who doesn't compliment his every move." Carrie commented. "Just wait until my father hears about this." she mocked in the best Draco voice she could impersonate. Draco turned around and looked at the girls with furrowed eyebrows.

"That's the one." The redhead giggled as she got comfortable in her chair. Draco started to say something but Carrie interrupted.

"What Draco? Are you going to announce to us, yet again, of what you are going to tell your uncle?" Draco shut his mouth and his face turned red with fury. He tried to think of something to say but he just turned around and made a sly comment that only Crabbe and Goyle could hear and the three of them laughed to themselves. Anita glared at Draco.

"What was that Malfoy? If you're going to say something say it to our faces." Ani growled a bit. The three boys turned around and look at the redheaded girl.

"Or what are you going to do?" Draco asked sarcastically, his mouth curved into a smirk. "Mock me to death?" Ani glared but then smirked a bit. She slipped her wand out, hidden from Draco's view, and muttered a few quick words. Next thing everyone in the class at the time sees is Draco's hair turn neon pink. Carrie busted out laughing at the sight. Draco was confused at what was so funny. Goyle pointed at his head, Draco got up and went to the closest reflective object.

"MY HAIR!" He shouted as he grabbed his hair. The rest of the class joined in on the laughter.

"Good one Anita!" Carrie applauded.

"I've learned a few cheap tricks." The redhead chuckled happy with her work. Draco stood at the object and nearly crying until the teacher arrived.

"Even better the spell is non reversible and won't fade for two days." Ani said as she waited for the teacher to start class.

"Wicked." Carrie chuckled as the professor took his place at the front of the classroom and began to introduce himself. Ani sat there boredly.

"This guy stutters too much to understand." She stated a bit annoyed. Carrie sighed and slumped down in her chair.

"I wonder if he was always like that. I hope this is only a temporary thing, because I can't go a whole year with this." Carrie whispered as she fiddled with her wand. The class droned on with the constant stuttering which felt like forever.

Once the class had finally ended Anita and Carrie made their way back to the dorms taking their time. "So what was your favorite part of class?" Ani asked curiously.

"The part when he stopped talking." Carrie said stretching as she walked. "Yours?"

"When I turned your cousin's hair pink before class even got started." Ani laughed softly. Carrie chuckled loudly.

"That was bloody brilliant! I kept looking at him for some form of entertainment." Carrie said happily.

"Same. I can't believe he actually cried. It almost made me feel bad." The redhead stretched as they entered the Common room. Carrie ran to the closest couch and flopped on it.

"You say that now, but later on you won't feel the same way once he opens his mouth again." Carrie tossed her book on adjacent table. "You know he's just going to continue either later today or fresh tomorrow."

"True. But still, it made me feel better." Anita set her books next to Carrie's. "I expected a bigger reaction out of him honestly though."Carrie nodded.

"Same." she shrugged. "But now we know he's like a mystery box. You never know what to expect when it comes to reactions."

"I'm gonna go change into something else, I'll be back down in a bit." Ani said before disappearing to the dorms, just as Malfoy and his cronies entered the Common room. Carrie pulled out her Potions book and began to read it. The kids in the common began to giggle at the sight of Draco's hair. The boys reached the couch where Carrie was sitting.

"Where's your hair changing friend at, Carrie?" Draco asked still upset.

"What's it to you? You want to complain more so she can change something else?" Carrie asked not looking up from her book. Draco's face scrunched up.

"I'm not going to complain! I don't complain!" He exclaimed.

"Uh huh…" Carrie said as she turned the page unconvinced.

"Well, you just tell her this isn't over and that… Oh never mind." Draco and his goons walk away into the other room with seating. Carrie nodded and carried on with her studying.

Anita came back in a pair of skinny jeans and a tank top. "So ready to start the homework?" The redhead sat on the couch across from her friend.

"Yeah. I've already started to look over the pages for potions." Carrie turned back to where the homework pages started. "It doesn't look too hard." Carrie pulled out her parchment and quill.

"Okay. Let's get it over with then." Ani got her parchment and quill out as well and opened her book.

"Alright, so…" The girls spend the afternoon on their first assignments, getting them done rather quickly. "That wasn't so bad." Carrie smiled as she finished the last assignment.

"True, but I still can't understand how to make the potion we did in class, I hope we get to redo it again in class on Wednesday." Ani closed her book and laid out on the couch. Carrie looked at Anita.

"You didn't understand what we were doing? Why didn't you tell me? It looked like you knew what you were doing." Carrie said putting her books on the table.

"Not a clue. I was just doing my best to follow your lead." The redhead said as she closed her eyes.

"Next time let me know. I could've explained everything! Now I feel bad." Carrie said as she began to braid her hair.

"Don't feel bad. I didn't expect to understand it." Anita yawned and curled up in a ball. "Wake me before dinner."

"Alright." Carrie picked up her potions book and began to study again. Hours passed and most of the Slytherins were in the common room. Carrie changed into a dark teal dress with ruffles. She lightly shook Anita. "Hey, wake up. It's almost dinner time." Anita however was out cold.

"Hey look there's the girl that changed Malfoy's hair." A few kids laughed near Draco not realizing he was there. Draco glared at the kids. Carrie shook Anita violently.

"Wake up!" Carrie had to jump back to avoid Anita fling her arm at what wat trying to wake her.

"I'm up." Came the redhead's tired response. Carrie chuckled.

"It's about time for dinner." She said now sitting on the table.

"Okay. Just give me a moment."Ani yawned as she sat up and stretched. Carrie looked over to where Draco was sitting. He sat at a small round table talking to Crabbe and Goyle, possibly about the redhead and the Brazilian. The students kept acknowledging Draco's hair when they passed by. The looks Draco gave them brought their laughter to a halt instantly.

"I think he wants to kill me." Ani stated noticing where her friend was looking. A slightly sad look crossed through the redhead's eyes for a moment. Carrie chuckled and looked back at her friend.

"He'll live. He'll probably get over it once the color fades away." The Brazilian said as she fixed the ruffles on her dress.

"I hope so. " The redhead said with a sigh as she straightened her tank top. "When does dinner start?" Carrie looked at the time.

"Mmmm… In about 5 or 10 minutes I think. No one's left yet, so I guess someone's going to bring us."

"Okay, so that gives me enough time to get a jacket." Ani said as she turned and went to the dorms to get said item. In the meantime, Carrie walked over to where Draco and the boys were sitting and sat on the table. The three of them looked up at her.

"What do you want?" Draco asked arms crossed.

"Are you still mad at Anita?" she asked as she poked his hair.

"Yes. She turned my hair bloody pink." He said as he smacked her hand away.

"You know she felt bad afterwards."

"And?"

"And you should get over it. It's only temporary, she didn't permanently turn your hair this color." she said as she rubbed her hand. "So stop being a baby. Plus, this color looks good on you." She chuckled and Draco's face became cross.

"Goodbye Carrie." He said frustrated and Carrie waved goodbye and hopped off the table and returned to the couch where she was originally. Anita came back from the dorms and had to walk passed Malfoy. She avoided looking at him because she knew she would most likely laugh. Carrie was once again studying but now studying her Defense Against the Dark Arts book.

"His stuttering must have something to do with dark magic… No one stutters that much…." The Brazilian said as she turned the page.

"What are you talking about?" Ani asked as she flopped down on the couch next to her friend.

"Professor Stutters-a-lot. He must be cursed or something. That much stuttering is unnatural. Plus the slightest things startle him and he's all fidgety. Ridiculous."

"I don't know much about curses but possibly. I mean it makes sense I guess." The redhead shrugged. Carrie sighed.

"I guess we will never know. B-but I-I d-don't k-know h-how long I-I c-can h-handle b-b-being in h-his c-class." Carrie mocked then started laughing.

"It's not nice to make fun of the professor." Anita playfully scolded her friend. Carrie smirked.

"It wasn't nice to change Draco's hair." Carrie teased.

"Oh bite me." Ani playfully stuck her tongue out at Carrie. The girls laughed and the Slytherin prefect entered the common room.

"First years, follow me." And all the students began to follow.

"I'm starved." The Brazilian girl stated as she clutched her stomach.

"I'm not really all that hungry." Anita stated as she yawned and stretched a bit as they walked.

"That cucumber sandwich did nothing for me. Usually those get me pretty full." her stomach began to grumble. "I know, you're empty. You'll be full in a minute." she said to her stomach.

"You're such a dork, Carrie." The redhead giggled.

"But my tummy, it's crying for food." She said as her stomach growled once again. "I know, Anita is making fun of you." Carrie joked. Anita just laughed and hugged her friend.

"You need to cut back on the sugar." Carrie giggled.

"I haven't even had THAT much sugar today. At least not yet." She said as she hugged her friend back laughed. They soon arrived at the Great Hall where all the other houses were still filing in and getting to their seats.

"I wonder what will happen at dinner tonight with Mr. Pink hair?" Anita thought aloud with a small chuckle.

"It looks as though more people have taken notice of his new look." Carrie giggled as she watched the faces of the students from the other houses look at Draco as he entered and took a seat. Many laughed and some yelled out jokes. Draco's face was unmistakably furious again.

"Even the twins and Harry are laughing." Ani noticed and pointed out to Carrie with a smile. Carrie smirked.

"The twins are always laughing at something. They're not going to let Draco forget about this." Carrie said as she placed her napkin in her lap.

"They seem like the types to not let anyone forget anything like this." The redhead pointed out. Carrie nodded.

"Now, where is this food? I hope there isn't going to be another speech tonight. I'm too hungry for all that." she said as she tapped on her plate.

"Can I just nap?" Anita joked not really hungry.

"You just woke up from a nap sleepyhead!" Carrie laughed.

"So? Ask my Da, I'm always tired." The redhead yawned. Carrie just chuckled and shook her head.

"I could really go for a meat pie." she licked her lips. "Yeah… a meat pie sounds good." Her stomach grumbled in agreeance.

"I'm just gonna head back to the common room." Anita said as she got up from the table. Carrie looked up at her friend and pouted.

"Don't leave me!"

"Play nice with your cousin or something." Ani joked as she left. Carrie made a very upset face as the redhead left the Great Hall. She decided that she might as well get to know the other Slytherins and her cousin. She quickly ignored the ones that annoyed her and befriended those who sparked her interest. She and Draco became closer as relatives.

Meanwhile Anita made a slow walk back to the common rooms and once there she started to read her potions book on the couch until she fell asleep. A few moments later dinner was let out. All the students were escorted back to their houses. As the Slytherins filed in, some headed straight to bed while others decided to stay in the common room and stay up longer. Carrie searched for Anita the moment she entered the room and quickly found her asleep.

"And there she is sleeping again." She said as she poked Anita's arm.

"Wow the girl sure can sleep." Stated Blaise, a dark skinned Slytherin boy, from behind Carrie. Carrie nodded and poked the redhead again.

"Anita, I snuck a meat pie for you. Wake up." She waved the pie above her face. "you know you want to eat it. Don't deny your tummy the deliciousness of the meat pie." The sleeping redhead didn't so much as move.

"I think she's out for the night. Want me to help you carry her to the dorm room?" Blaise asked.

"Okay. I'll get her shoulders I guess." Carrie said trying to think of a smart and easy way to get this done.

"Or I could carry her on my back. She doesn't look that heavy." He shrugged. Carrie nodded.

"That'll work. Hopefully you can get into the room." she stated as she remembered about the charm that prevents boys from entering the girls dorms.

"Okay." Blaise picked the sleeping Anita up and skillfully maneuvered her to his back. "After you." Carrie led him upstairs and towards the first year girls' dorm on the right. She entered and waited near the doorway.

"I can't enter so you'll have to take her from here."

"Okay." Carrie took Anita off of Blaise and supported her as much as she could. "I'll be back out in a second." And she slightly dragged her, since Carrie was a little shorter that Anita, to her bed, put her in it and tucked her in. She then met back up with Blaise and headed back to the Common room.

"She's the one that turned Malfoy's hair?" Blaise asked curiously.

"Yeah. We were making jokes about him before DADA and he said something that we couldn't hear and Anita called him out about it. He asked her what she was going to do if he didn't say and… There you go." Carrie said as she took a seat on the couch.

"I'll have to say it's a good look for the weasel." Blaise laughed. Carrie giggled.

"I said the same thing to him earlier and he just shooed me." Carrie held up the meat pie she grabbed for Anita. "Since she isn't going to eat this I might as well take it for myself." And she took a bite from it. "But yeah, don't let Draco hear you say it looks good on him or he might shoo you away too." Carrie said while eating the pie.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." Blaise laid out on the couch lazily.

"Hey, what do you think about the DADA teacher?" Carrie asked and finished her meat pie. `"He stutters more than I thought possible." Blaise shrugs. "But he seems alright." Carrie nodded lightly.

"And Professor Snape? What did you think of his little show of Potter?"

"I thought it was unnecessary but the Gryffindor probably had it coming."

"I found it slightly entertaining. Granger's though was getting on my nerves. I met her on the train the other day. She's a real show off." Carrie said as she began to mock Hermione's hand raising. "Pick me I know everything." she chuckled.

"I know. And the way Professor Snape fawned over Malfoy was annoying as well." Blaise commented.

"Oh don't even get me started about that. I bet that was all for show. His potion wasn't even made all that great. I watched him. Anita's and my potion was better." Carrie began to rant again but stopped herself.

Blaise laughed. "I bet it was."

"It was! I swear!" Carrie exclaimed with a smile.

"I'm not doubting you." Blaise smiled back.

"Alright how did I get in my bed from the couch?" Anita asked tiredly as she walked up to Carrie and Blaise. Carrie looked up at her redheaded friend.

"Look who arose from the dead!" Carrie punned. "I brought you a meat pie but you didn't wake up…. So I ate it." She smiled brightly.

"That's cruel." Anita whined and pouted cutely which caused Blaise to chuckle.

"Not my fault that a certain someone didn't wake up." Carrie stuck her tongue out playfully. "It was delicious by the way." she giggled.

"Anyways, I attempted to read my potions book but I still had some problems understanding some things." Ani said changing the subject.

"I'm of no help there." Blaise joked.

"What do you have trouble with, Ani?" Carrie asked caringly. "I said that I'll help you if you needed help."

"How about all of it?" Anita asked half jokingly. Carrie chuckled.

"What's the most difficult thing?"

"The items used and how they work together." The redhead explained. Blaise ended up called away by some other friends leaving the two girls alone.

"Gee. That's a bit hard to explain but I'll do my best." Carrie began to explain how everything reacted together as simply as possible. "Hopefully I helped you somewhat understand things better."

"We can work on it tomorrow after History of Magic." Ani said as she slouched down onto the couch.

"Okay. You know that you could always ask your uncle." the Brazilian said as picked up her potions textbook and opened it. "He could probably explain it better than myself."

"True…but my uncle is probably too busy to help me." Anita sighed. "I wouldn't want to be a bother to him."

"Doesn't hurt to ask. Plus it'll give you two bonding time." Carrie smiled.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." The redhead agreed.

"Lights out in five minutes." The perfect announced to the first years.

"Yeah, give it a shot." Carrie suddenly remembered. "Wednesday. Ask him after class." Carrie nudged Anita.

"Okay, I will. Well we better head up to the dorm."

"Yeah. Better than waking up certain people." Carrie made a face as she mocked Pansy.
