An unarmed man, who Dianna took to be the leader, lifted his hand up in a silent gesture to hold fire. "It would be wise to surrender Wonder Woman, unless you want for your American friends to die" the man said in English, particularly emphasizing his distaste for her name. Sand blew lazily between the princess and her opponents, a small detail that would otherwise be beautiful if not for the tense situation she was currently faced with. Dianna hung her head in defeat and held her wrists out to be bound. "Tie her up" the man said as he snapped his fingers and gestured towards her. His upper lip contorted in disgust at the mere sight of her.
One of the armed men hesitantly handed his weapons to a comrade so that they could not be used against him by the warrior princess and pulled a pair of handcuffs from his sash. "Not those you moron, use the lasso" the leader yelled curtly in his native tongue, of which Dianna could make out having studied its ancient dialect. The guard walked over and made a gesture for her to put her hands behind her back. Dianna sighed, but complied. The guard did a decent job at hiding his fear at being in such close proximity of the super powered female as he reached at her side for her golden lasso and bound her wrists with the end not tied around the globe.
"What is that? Bring that glass sphere to me" ordered the leader. Once the globe was in his hands he inspected it and deduced its purpose. "Curious", said the brash man as he noted how an arrow spun within the glass globe. "Bring her inside" he ordered. The guard behind her attempted to shove her forward. Of course she wouldn't be budged due to her superior strength and he ended up looking the fool for stupidly attempting to do so.
She gasped as soon as she entered the dark building and and saw Steve Trevor worse for wear as if he had just finished being tortured. "Your friend here was just telling me about you, Dianna" he said, pointing to the very battered Steve laying shackled on a blood stained wooden table in the center of the room.
"What have you done to him!" Dianna demanded angrily. She was just as furious as she nauseous with worry over Steve.
"My associate just wanted you lured in. The torture was just for my amusement" the leader haughtily stated."There is no way you can fight your way out of this. You cannot fight a shadow", the leader stated cryptically. "After I am finished with him. You will be put in your place"
"I will get out of this and when I do you and your associate will be put in your place", Dianna promised, and she always fulfilled her promises. Especially when that someone goes back on their word.
"We shall see", he stated while looking down at the golden ring he was turning on his pinky finger.
Circe waved her arm bringing the enormous skrying mirror to life so that all of the occupants in the room could see a scene playing out as it happened thousands of miles away. In it, Circe could view Dianna's every move and Hippolyta could just barely make everything out from her angle on the cold marble floor. She was alarmed to see her daughter bound with her own unbreakable lasso and Steve Trevor likewise bound to a table behind her in a dreadful state. Dianna's mother feared that the man, who appeared to be going on a tirade, would do the same to her daughter and no one would be able to help her. Circe viewed the scene with little concern, casually looked at Hippolyta over her shoulder and said "Your daughter is almost done with her job, Hippolyta" stated the violet haired witch in an alarmingly relaxed tone.
"What do you mean? What tricks are you up to, Circe? If she is hurt I will-", the queen's voice trembled in barely disguised terror at the very real possibility that her daughter might be put through the same torture Steve Trevor had been subjected to if the images playing out before them were any indication.
Circe interrupted Hippolyta before she could finish the warning "You are in no position to be making threats" and quickly changed topics, not bothered by Hippolyta's previous comment at all. The sorceress laid one hand on the mantle beside the mirror. Her eyes lit up with malevolent amusement "Oh this is rich. He is talking about the ring. I lost that thing ages ago when visiting the gardens of Babylon. Imagine my surprise when this buffoon not only finds it, but actually figures out how to communicate through it. I hate to admit that such a vile creature of a man has any talent, but he does have strong magic in his blood."
The moment Circe looked back and returned to watching the mirror, she could see Dianna being back handed by the foolish leader. Hippolyta grimaced at the sight even though she knew the slap wouldn't come close to hurting her daughter.
"I think it is time to intervene" stated the violet haired sorceress. She concentrated upon the mirror and put two hands upon it while whispering a long incantation. Suddenly the forgotten globe, burst into a purple light, spreading out in an ever expanding ring. After the blast, all in the room besides Dianna transformed into swine. The leader clawed at his face in great pain as he transformed into something else entirely. Dianna looked on with wide eyes, shocked at seeing the man turn into what looked like a Minotaur.
"Well that was entirely unexpected", said the sorceress in reference to the Minotaur in a borderline amused manner. She looked back at Hippolyta who had no idea what had just happen which could be read quite easily on her regal face.
"This should be interesting" Circe said aloud. Hippolyta was not amused.
