Chapter Four: Time to Myself

After the bit of showing off, I decide to go up to the manager's hideout. People who frequent my club have no idea what I do for a living.

Thankfully, NCIS gave me the go-ahead, knowing that I can keep my work under wraps. Emmett and Mike both know my dad, and he has already dealt with them because I'd gone to high school with both of them.

Rose and Jasper had decided to go get some good food. I had told them where to go to quickly access my office.

Being here gives me a way to learn the underground gossip, hence the reason it helps with my other job. I have been able to get a few leads by talking to a few club attendees and having Emmett leak a few rumors.

I'm looking at my pictures that sit on my desk. They're pictures of my family; Daddy, Shannon (my mom), Kelly (my baby sister), and me. My mommy and my sister both died several years ago. It has always been a sore subject, but Daddy and Uncle T are always here when I need them. Uncle T is Tobias Fornell. He's a Senior FBI agent.

Before I get the chance to get too down and out, there's a knock on my door. I open it, and I let Rose and Jasper in with the food.

"Hey, Bella. How's it going?" Jasper asks.

"I've been better. I could really use some sweet and sour chicken and some chow mein," I say, as Jasper hands me my order.

"We got you as much as we could," says Rose.

"Thank you both. Have you heard anything from my dad recently? He doesn't call me when I'm here…"

Jasper shakes his head. "Not yet."

"That's because I'm right here, Bells. Whitlock. Fernason led us right to the house where the little girl was killed. We have Abby looking at everything we found," Daddy, Gibbs, says.

"That's good to know. I'll go see if there's anything I can do to help Abby," Jasper responds.

Rose looks up at me and then at Gibbs. "Is it always this quick of a turnaround with you guys?"

"Only when we get lucky. What about your guys in the FBI?" I respond.

"Not often." She looks down at her food and starts to pack up since she's Jasper's ride. "I'll see you when I see you."

I nod and put my feet up on the desk sans shoes. I lean back in my chair and sigh. "I can't stand cases like this, Daddy."

"I know, darling. We'll get through this," he says, as he grabs my hand and kisses the top of it. "Do you want to be left alone?"

I shake my head. "Want a drink? Coffee? Maybe something stronger?"

"Coffee would be good." He grins.

"I'll drive. We can head back to the office after. It'll be a long night… I know that look. I love you Daddy."

"I love you too, pumpkin." He smirks, as we head out the door.
