So sorry that again it took me so long but I had serious writer´s block and 11th grade is just really hard so I spend most time studying. However today I got a day off and thanks to EvilQueenRegina I finally got an idea for this new chapter. This story will be ending soon but I have so many ideas for new stories. I know some of you voted for the Parent Trap idea that I had but I decided to start another story first. I just have so many ideas for that story already. But don´t worry I will write that story at some point. The new story is about Maleficent raising Regina. I will give you more information when this story is finished.
Hope you like this chapter and as always please review, fav or follow.
She ran down Mainstreet as fast as she could. Not caring about the people staring after her. She needed answers and she needed them now. She had no idea what that teddy meant but she was sure it meant something. Maybe under all the hate and evil there was still good in Cora Mills. Maybe she did love her after all. Maybe there was still hope.
Regina stopped at her front door and just stood there for a few minutes, not sure if she should really go in. Maybe that was all just a trap so Cora could hurt her even more but if that were the case why did she keep that bear? If she really hated her so much why did she suddenly care? There never had been a birthday party for her or any kind of warmth and love for that matter. So why now? If Cora never cared then why did she keep the adoption a secret? Was there still hope that her mother could change?
Taking a deep breath the brunette finally managed enough courage and opened the white wooden door. She stepped in carefully and looked around to see if Cora was there waiting for her.
"I see you´ve received my gift." The cold voice of the Queen of Hearts echoed behind her, making her jump. She slowly turned around and came face to face with the woman she had called ´Mother´ all her life. That seemed different now. She seemed tired and worn. It made her look older than she actually was. She still looked beautiful though. Not a hair out of place and not a fault in her outfit, just like Regina remembered her from her childhood. Always looking her best and always carrying herself like a freaking royal even though she never really got to be one. Regina could still remember her grandfather Xavier visiting them when she was still only a toddler, telling her mother that she would always be a Miller´s daughter. After that day she never saw her Grandpa again. It was years later that she found out he had died shortly after that day and there was no doubt Cora had killed him.
Her grandfather had never been nice to her but she still loved him just like she loved Cora even after all the bad things that had happened. Today she only realized why her grandfather never liked her. He knew she was the daughter of a peasant woman.
"Why?" Regina whispered and clutched the bear tightly to her chest. The older woman smirked and circled her, making even more nervous. The woman in front of her wasn´t her mother. That woman was an old, insane bitch that no one liked being around. However, she still couldn´t let go. She wanted to know what she had done wrong that she was never enough, that her mother could never love her.
"It was your birthday, sweetheart. I thought you would want a gift that no one else could give you. She can never give you what I can. She is just a poor peasant who never loved you. That´s why she gave you to me, she was unable to love you the way I did. I gave you everything a little girl could ask for. A castle to live in, expensive dresses and so much more. You were just too ungrateful to notice the things I´ve done for you, all the sacrifices I had to make to give you the life of a queen. And you threw it all away. You know that she can never give you what you want. But I can, Regina." Her voice sounded soft, almost loving and Regina could have been fooled if it wasn´t the fact that Cora was talking. She wanted to believe it so badly but there was just something about it that wasn´t right. Cora tried to manipulate her yet again.
"You are wrong. She can give me something that you never could." The brunette piped up and looked Cora in the eyes, seeking just one glimpse of love, but not finding anything.
"And what might that be?" she crossed her arms over her chest, waiting for her adopted daughter to answer her.
Suddenly she felt someone behind her pluging their hand into her chest. Regina looked at her boyfriend who held Cora´s heart in his hand and handed it to Johanna who put it into the witch´s chest. Cora grabbed at her chest, feeling the warmth suddenly overwhelming her. For so many years she hadn´t been able to feel anything but hatred and now she looked at the young woman in front of her that she had tormented for so many years and saw a little girl. The little girl that she had hurt and disappointed over and over again and suddenly felt something that she had never felt before. Love. She truly felt love for the brunette but also guilt. She was so guilty for all that she had done right now.
"You are enough. I love you!" she whispered with tears shining in her eyes.
Regina stood in shock for a few minutes. Not noticing her boyfriend wrapping her in a tight hug and not feeling the tears running down her cheeks.
When she finally got out of her trance she stepped into the direction of her adopted mother and wrapped her arms around the old woman´s waist. Cora was shocked but wrapped her own arms around her daughter and ran her finger through her short hair. She waved her hand and the hair that she had cut so short and uneven suddenly grew. Regina looked up at the woman in front of her as she felt the sudden weight around her shoulders.
"Thank you!" she sobbed and laid her head on Cora´s shoulder. She was so happy in that moment. Finally she had two loving mothers and she would never feel unwanted again.
The next chapter will be the epilogue. I hope you all enjoyed this story and thank you for all your ideas and support!
