Chapter Five:

All five of us were slowly walking down the narrow corridors of the jet and straight towards the conference room.

"Nee-san I told you not to stay up so late last night." Kimiko said as she walked next to Hunter while she lightly held onto the sleeve of his trench coat.

"Sorry Kimi; but late at night is the only time big bro has to practice his shot at the firing range." Hunter said as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes with his free hand.

Suddenly Jack and I could hear Dawn giggling while she walked next to us.

"I just love it when she calls him big brother." Dawn said to us.

"You can speak Japanese?" Jack said with interest.

"Well when you get as old as me you end up picking two, three, maybe a couple of dozen languages."

Jack and I both chuckled as we all entered the conference room; it had the same fine leather interior seats as those in first class all gathered around a small fine polished wooden table. Jack, Dawn, and I all sat next to each other while Hunter and Kimiko stayed close to each other and sat at the opposite side of us. The room suddenly became dark while a big flat screen television slowly descended from the ceiling. On the television screen an image of a man masked in a silhouette of shadows appeared.

"Good morning ladies and gentlemen." The man said.

"Morning Aries." We all replied.

"Alright I'm going to get straight down to business..." Aries began to say. "The council and I have assembled this team together because we believe you are all the best qualified to handle this assignment."

Suddenly an image of the two missing agents from before came on the screen.

"As you are all aware; agents Cowell, and Decker went missing over a week ago while investigating a possible lead of a nearby vampire hive approximately thirty miles in the western mountains near Peach Creek Hills. The council and I have officially dubbed this team as Search Party Omega; we need you five to go in and search for the hive and recover Cowell and Decker. After you find them we'll send in Strike Team Alpha to exterminate the hive."

Suddenly five holes appeared on top of the table; and five folders emerged from the holes.

"Since this is classified as a reconnaissance assignment; we purchased a three story house for you five to occupy in during this assignment."

"Hey not bad." Jack said as we looked over the photos of the house Aries and the council had purchased for us.

"A white picket fence; newly refurbished, and it's located in Peach Creek Hills fanciest neighborhood." Jack added.

"But it's also secluded on top of the tallest mountain as well..." Dawn added. "That way if we ever run into trouble; civilians won't be put into harm's way."

"Excellent observation agent Dawn." Aries said. "But even if you find yourselves in a dangerous situation; we already equipped the house with an emergency defensive system that agent Kimiko helped designed."

Soon after Kimiko left her seat and approached the television screen while schematics of the house came on screen.

"In the event of an emergency we've set up four century guns here, here, here, and here..." Kimiko said as she pointed to the four corners of the white picket fence. "They are all equipped with sun stone or silver bullets depending on the situation. And in case of possible breaching; the windows and doors are set to drop fourteen inch thick steel and sliver plated barricade shields."

The television screen showed a demonstration of the shields dropping in front of the doors and windows.

"The house has other defensive protocols as well but I though you all would like to know that inside the basement we've hooked up a secret storage room filled with an arsenal of H.O.W.L's top of the line weapons and ammunition."

"Wow..." I said with a shocked expression.

"Looks like you guys made sure to really cover our hides in case things get real." Jack said with an impressed look on his face.

"Just remember search and locate agents Cowell and Decker then report back to Alpha team; they'll take it from there." Aries said. "And in case things get ugly the council and I hereby grant all five of you permission to use lethal force."

Suddenly the same female stewardess from before came over the intercoms once again.

"Attention please; in approximately thirty minutes we'll be landing in Peach Creek Hills International Airport. May we have everyone return to their seats at this time as we approach our final descent."

"Good luck out there Omega team; out." Suddenly the image of Aries bliped off the television screen; then the flat screen slowly retracted back into the ceiling while the lights in the conference room came back on.

We all slowly left the conference room and returned to out seats. I took the window seat and was contempt when I saw the city slowly coming into view. It had gotten a little bigger since the last time I was here; I loved the massive forests the surrounded the city it gave it more of a comforting feeling.

"You doin okay bud?" Jack asked as he gently placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Yeah...Just never thought I'd get to see this place again." I said with a soft smile.

As happy as I was to see the lush forests and gigantic skyscrapers from my youth; I knew there was danger somewhere out there threatening my old home. And I was going to do whatever it takes to protect it!
