Hey guys I hope you've all been enjoying the sudden out burst of chapters for NightFang. I was trying to make up for lost time I mean I think the last time I worked On NightFang was two years ago back when I first made the re-make. Anyways this will probably be the last chapter for awhile but if you guys keep supporting the fic then you can expect more NightFang content in the near future anyways let's get back into the story.

Chapter Seven:

I've seen werewolf maulings, even seen people's corpses completely drained of every drop of blood; but nothing terrified me more than seeing Dawn scarfing down her double bacon cheese burger. Bits of hamburger, bacon, and bun went flying in every direction of our table.

"I swear there must be a cow somewhere up in heaven looking down at us and saying." "Cripes I got sent to the big farm in the sky for this?"

Within three bites;Dawn had already scarf down over half of her burger. And these weren't any ol' rinky dink small frozen patties you would get at a fast food chain. These were those big juicy fresh burgers you would get those really great burger joints downtown. Dawn took a break from the other half oh her burger and grabbed a handful of french fries and stuffed her face to the max.

"Mut's Mrong...You hafn't even...toughed...your mood met." Dawn said with her mouth full of fries.

"When you said your were starving...I didn't know you meant hobo starving..." I said with a twitching eye, a horrified expression on my face. I didn't realize it but I was holding onto a single french fry in between my fingers for the entire time I was watching Dawn tore into her burger.

She quickly swallowed the mouth full of fries and reached into her basket for another handful.

"Yeah...I was trying to go on a diet before we got assigned to this mission...Then...I realized...Why...Do I need...to go...On...A...Diet...I mean...I've looked like...A fifteen year old...For the past...Two hundred years." Dawn interrupted herself as she began to mutilate the pile of innocent french fries in her hand. She stooped midway in the pile of fires when she began to pound her hand against her chest.

"Here this should help." I said as I handed Dawn her milkshake; she quickly took it from me and gulped down over half of it.

"Better?" I asked with a smug look on my face.

"Yeah...Than...Oww..." Suddenly Dawn rubbed her fingers against the sides of her forehead.

"Brain freeze?" I asked as I took my first bite into my burger.

"Yeah...A wicked one too." Dawn replied.

As a waiter was passing by our table I politely raised my hand in the air.

"Excuse me; may we have refill on my friend's chocolate milkshake?" I asked the.

"Sure thing kid." The waiter said as he took Dawn's cup and went to the back of the kitchen.

"You didn't have to do that Eddward." Dawn said.

"It's okay it's my treat." I replied.

With all of the craziness that's happened in just the few hours since we've arrived; it was a nice change of pace when we became quite as we enjoyed our meal.

"Hey Dawn?" I asked as she finished the last bite of her burger.

"What's up Eddward?" She replied as she used her napkin to wipe her mouth.

"Please don't take this the wrong way; but how come you're being so nice to me?"

She gave out a light giggle as she placed her napkin on her lap.

"Well to be honest; you have a nice, welcoming, warm.. light."

"A light?" I asked trying to not to laugh.

"Yes a light smarty pants" Dawn said as she playfully tapped my arm. "Eddward; when you lived as long as I have. You tend to appreciate what little light you can find in this world."

"I know what you mean." I said.

I exactly knew what she meant; ever since I was bitten. I've looked for anything; anything that could keep me happy. Even if it was just for a little bit.

"You know when we first got here; I noticed that your light was dimming."

"It was?" I asked kind of startled.

"I wasn't sure what to do; so I thought maybe if I took you around it'd help make you feel better." Dawn said as she placed her hand on top of mine.

I felt a blush coming on; but Dawn didn't seem to mind. She actually gave me a bright smile which just made my blush intensify.

Suddenly I could hear my phone buzzing inside my coat pocket; I quickly reached for it and read the text message I got from Jack.

"Dude where are you and Dawn? The mission is gonna start in 30 mins call me ASAP."

"Oh crap; the mission's gonna start soon." I said as quickly slid my hand from under Dawn's "We better get going." I said as I went to pay for our meal."

"Kay...I'll meet you...In the...Car..." Dawn said as she left the table and walked towards the exit.

Traffic was still pretty light; which was surprising considering that it was the start of the weekend. As we drove down the main highway back to Peach Creek Acres; I noticed Dawn wasn't as talkative as she was back at the restaurant. I wanted to ask her if everything was alright; but I figured now wasn't a good time.

As sunset was slowly approaching; Hunter, Jack, Dawn, and I were all hiking up through the thick dark forest. Kimiko stayed behind at home; observing the surveillance equipment inside our night vision goggles.

"Okay you guys; you're a couple of kilometers away from the hive." Kimiko said while she tracked our movements through a satellite up link.

"Roger." Hunter said as we slowly saw the entrance to the hive come into sight.

"Alright Kimiko; activate agent Cowell and Decker's emergency distress beacons." I said.

"You got it Double D." Kimiko said as she remotely activated their distress beacons.

A mini map came on the corner of our lenses; we saw four yellow arrows slowly approaching the cave. And true to our intelligence we've received; we spotted two blinking red lights coming from inside the cave.

"Kay we found our two missing boys; and the sun is just about to set so we don't have a lot of time people let's go, go, go." Jack said as we all quickened our pace and approached the cave.

"You guys be careful out there; especially you Nee-san." Kimiko said.

"Don't worry little sister." Hunter said as he loaded the barrel of a shot gun he brought with him from the weapons cellar. "Big brother isn't planning on coming back home with an empty seat."

We made sure to silence our foot steps as we inched our way closer and closer to the hive; I lead the group while Dawn followed from behind. We figured if anything would try to attack us from either the front or the rear; our heightened senses of sight, hearing, and smell would be able to catch them in an instance. Jack followed close behind me; he'd be my second line of defense in case I got swarmed with enemy vampires. Hunter stayed close to Dawn and would offer her heavy support in case they tried to attack us from behind.

We were just inches away from the entrance when all of a sudden I raised my right fist into the air.

"What's wrong dude?" Jack asked.

Back at our suburban head quarters; every piece of Kimiko's sonar equipment went off like crazy.

"Crud!" Kimiko shouted.

"Do you hear them too?" Dawn asked me.

"Yeah...Two...Maybe three dozen." I whispered.

"Guys..." Kimiko shouted into our ear pieces." "You're going to have company!"

Suddenly dozens of misty shadow like figures flew all around us; clinging on to tree branches and crawled all over the forest floor. We gathered around each other and stood back, to, back, to back, to back; making sure we covered the others blind spot. The shadowy figures slowly rose from the ground and the tree branches. They all began to slowly transform into hideous gray skin, nose less creatures.

"Well...What...Do...We...Have...Here?" One of the creatures said in an disturbing raspy voice.

"A wolf in sheep's clothing...Two children pretending to be hunters...Ooooo...And one of our own as well..." Another creature said in an almost identical raspy voice.

"It looks like we won't have to wait until the master finds his bride to feast after all." a third creature said.

"Find his bride?" I said to myself.

"Those other two...That these so call...Monster Hunters...Sent our way...Didn't quite satisfy my hunger..."The first creature said.

"Did they just seriously say they..." Jack began to say as he swallowed a nervous lump down his throat.

"I think they did..." Dawn said with a disturbed look on her face.

"Hey little sis; mind sending in the cavalry?" Hunter said nervously into his ear piece.

"I did; but it's gonna take them at least ten minutes to reach you guys." Kimiko replied.

"So were on our own until they get here huh?" I said as Jack, Daw, and I all slowly reached for the insides of our jackets; while Hunter aimed down his shot gun towards the creatures.

"Hey Kimiko; mind putting on some tunes for us?" Jack asked.

"Um...Okay...What's your poison?" Kimiko asked slightly confused.

" Something fast and exciting; you know to set the mood." I said as the creatures slowly approached us.

"Okay..." Kimiko said as she connected her laptop to out communicators.

"Here you guys go..."

The song was fast and loud; I already could feel my adrenalin pumping faster and faster.

"Ahhhh...The perfect song to kick some VAMPIRE ASS." Hunter shouted as we all quickly drew our weapons into the air.

The vampires quickly leapt into the air and charged straight towards us. The peaceful and quite forest suddenly erupted into a series of multiple flashing lights and earsplitting gunshots.

"Guys...Can you hear me?" Kimiko shouted into her communicator. "Neesan...Dawn...Jack...Double D...Anyone..."
